Will Blackwall be compatible with a renegade female inquisitor? Considering how he is all about self sacrifice, he seems to sort of on the paragon side of things and might conflict with an Inquisitor who is renegade.

What do you all think? I plan on romancing him for my renegade female Qunari Warrior/Reaver but I fear he might not get along and object to everything I dom

Hm, Dragon Age doesn't really fit the paragon/renegade morality system.  It's a little too grey for that.

 

I have kinda pegged Blackwall as a "for the greater good" type given what his character blurb said, and that doesn't necessarily mean "paragon."  There are acts people can deem "for the greater good" that would seem abominable to others.  Maybe he won't approve of selfish or flippant Inquisitors?

Blackwall doesn't seem to be marketing's darling.

I hope to finally hear american Inquisitors before release. Did they ever use american voices?

But he is my darling!   And I don't think they have yet.

I'm going to agree with Rinji on this.  Except my first play through is always a goody goody.  So I probably won't make anyone mad *crosses fingers*

Blackwall is my favorite companion at the moment. Can't wait to see what he is like. I hope he'll be kind of like Morrigan, to be honest ("power and victory comes before everything" mentality), so that he'd be a perfect match for my evil inquistior.

All I can say is that I will not hesitate to reload if Inq winds up doing it wrong.  I wish we did know more about him so I can work out a strategy, but we'll find out in November.  The upside of having to buy a new OS is that I may wind up being delayed by a few weeks, so I'll have the benefit of others' experience.  I know Sheryl Chee gets sad thinking of people spoiling it for themselves, but there are cases where a vicarious experience can be better than none at all.

 

OT - A page or two ago, I wrote a response advising reloading in response to the sluggish forum.  It doesn't always work.  I just wound up triple-posting by accident, and it was because the page never finished loading.  Sorry about that.  Stoopid internets.

Now my quizzy has a perfect excuse to "accidently" bump into Blackwall twice a day - to admire the, uh... mounts! yes, the mounts. "Oh, ser Warden, the mounts... look splendid today, do they not? Very healthy and... mounty."
 
On a more serious note, him hanging out in the stable can provide for a more natural and effortless start of relationship between him and my Lavellan, friendship or romance. Since she's a big animal lover (from now on), she can honestly just visit the stable to pet horses etc. and start hanging out with Blackwall simply because he's around there too.

I was wondering that too. Since I'm planning to play a "the ends justify the means" / "for science! greater good" kind of gal, I wonder how Blackwall would react to a situation similar to the on in Bring Down the Sky (ME). Say, save some people, but let a dreamer-abomination run free, or kill the abomination along with the people (...somehow). I hope Rinji the Bearded is right about him. I mean, even Alistair could be more pragmatic when the situation called for it.

 

Edit: just watched the video. Come on, Bioware, why must you torture us so! But at least Sera fans got something.

Am I wrong or we've seen and heard almost all companions (Cassandra, Josie, Cullen, Dorian, Sera, Iron Bull) talking and even laughing and we just miss Blackwall (and perhaps Solas but I'm not sure)?    Luckily I'm managing to deal with the hype playing The Witcher, I never played it - dunno why - and now I'm totally in love with Geralt   

At this point Blackwall, Solas and Cole are the Team Obscure.

Oh, I'm playing the Witcher too.   Fell in love with the Universe after reading the books.

Hey folks, this is OT, but relates to my OS problem and having to spoil myself since I might not be able to play.  I actually got a 3rd interview for tomorrow!  Please, wish me well. After a spectacularly long and taxing period of unemployment, I might have a chance at being less of a burden to my family, for a change.

 

I'm with Ashelsu on Team Obscure (sorry about the PM, I think that one glitched, too).  They're not trying to make us miserable, I'm sure.  I think that Blackwall is going to play a pretty big role in what's going on with the wardens erratic stuff.

Valya is supposed to be researching cases dating back to the 4th blight when wardens were behaving oddly.  The Warden Chancellor mentions in passing that the Warden Commander of Orlais not writing anymore.  I wonder if they're being mind controlled.

Solas actually talked a good bit in the gameplay vids and we got a bit of Cole in Skyhold. Blackwall's the one we've heard the least about.

I saw that yesterday and had a feeling that might be why they didn't talk to him at that time.

I've said this many times myself.  But surely the man has a couple lines in the game that don't give away something?  My thirst!  It must be quenched!
