I know I'm new to this thread, but could we not drag the twitter nonsense to this thread. Thanks! :)

Gladly!

Welcome to the thread.

We don't have a lot to talk about thus far.  Mostly we sit around and talk about beards and baby griffons and grizzly old man taint.

I was thinking of giving a drawing another chance but alas, I am at work right now.

I would love to see another drawing. I'm no artist but I was thinking of maybe trying to draw a pic of the Warden, even if it's just for fun and laughs. :)

His first concept-art reminds me of Eddard Stark.

Now we need Tywin Lannister to compensate.

I'm coming in a little late and didn't read the whole thread but about having a Lannister we have had, not in looks but in attitude and ideology Loghain Mac Tir.

I have to disagree. Tywin was all about his family and his legacy. Loghain was more concerned about fighting threats from Orlais, both real and imagined. Tywin was a brilliant politician whereas Loghain ceased to be effective the moment he stepped off of the battlefield. He seems to share Jaime's combat prowess (although I feel that might be grasping at straws - he's competent enough to be a companion of the warden AND a grey warden but I don't remember hearing many tales about his prowess in small engagements) but not his penchant for incest or witty remarks. Maybe it's just me, but I felt a lot of his actions as regent were done because he genuinely felt he was the best person to lead the nation and not because he was trying to put himself first, which is what the Lannisters almost always do.

BUT! On to the glorious bearded warden. I'm glad he has a sense of humor but I hope it doesn't ascend to snark knight levels. We already have Sera, Iron Bull, Varric, and a potentially snarky Inquisitor for that.

I'm starting to feel like literally the only person on the BSN that doesn't watch Game of Thrones.

You're not. I am as well, although I hope to rectify that over the summer.

Juuust be grateful you don't know all that much, instead of knowing enough that you're forced to explain every plot point of A Song of Ice and Fire to your folks. That gets old very quickly.

Yeah, I'm more or less the first person my parents call after they watch a episode.

Game of Thrones just seemed like too much of a tittyfest to really catch my attention. I haven't given it much serious consideration.

Don't worry, I've never seen it. Everyone keeps telling me about how awesome it is, and how I should watch it. I just can't get interested in it, and I'm someone who loves both high and dark fantasy.

It's a bit overboard with some of this IMO, though I do think it's an excellent show.  I have to wait for the season to pass so I can watch them all at once.  I can't wait week to week :P

Yeah, they didn't even wait for five minutes this season to get started with the boobs.

re: Game of Thrones: There are boobs, but there's occasional man-butt, too. Even man-on-man butt.

Back on topic, any ideas what his name could be?

And who his writer might be? (I'm looking at you, Sheryl)

Can't wait for this to be announced.  His name, writer, and a brief idea of his backstory are some of the things I'm most looking forward to finding out.

I'm really just interested to know what role the wardens will have in the game, generally. I've always been interested in getting a closer look at their motivations and inner workings. We've always gotten so close and still had basically no idea what's really going on with them. I'm hoping the warden can tell us more about the higher leadership in the wardens in a way that we couldn't get from new/outsider recruits like Alistair in Origins and Anders in DA2. The warden looks like he's probably had a long time with the wardens and has gotten jaded with them, so I hope he has a lot to tell us about them.
