I don't know if she's keeping up with the spoilers or not... I was under the impression that she wanted to keep the game fresh for her first playthrough, so maybe she's avoiding spoilers for now?

Oh gawd. I know im late but i just saw mike's post from september last night. And squeee blackwall is an option!.

Although it did cross my mind that maybe straight gurlies has this much options was because theyre either gonna die early specially blackwall or leave us at some point. That would be really sucky.

When I first heard that, I thought more about Blackwall being more willing to sacrifice things for the greater good due to him being a veteran Warden

I found it in the database files using notepad.

 

That's a real thing.

Despite the typo, that one is also very much real.

 

Blackwall is not Blackwall.

 

In short, they're real.

Well, we already knew from ages ago that Blackwall isn't his real name. It was said we'd find out his real one. 

 

Seeing as they're completely out of context, I wouldn't jump to conclusions based solely off of them.

Right now all I can do is confirm that the little strings of Blackwall data aren't falsified.

So...somebody posted this in the other thread. Probably very heavy potential spoilers. 

 

An additional bit on Blackwall I ran into(tried to find the post, but it appears to have deleted it already, since it was a few days ago).

Blackwall was a husband to a Grey Warden wife.
She was pregnant. Both she and the child died.
Left alone, Blackwall took up her cause afterwards.

Yes, fellow BSNers. They've gone Thane on us. Possibly without the terminal disease bit, though. Or the rebellious teeneger.

Bear in mind that I have heard this from only one source. But it sounds legit, given that we have solid evidence that Blackwall is not Blackwall.

So, for now, I think with the information we have, we can say that...

Blackwall had a twin brother who was a Grey Warden but he died which caused him great sadness and he, the Blackwall we meet in Inquisition, decided to pick up the mantle of his deceased twin brother, pretending to be him...

 

Remember the letter in the World of Thedas with Warden Constable Blackwall ? He addresses the recruits as his recruits...

 

The Inquisition Blackwall feels guilty or perhaps some responsibility and self blame for not being able to prevent his twin brother's death...Add this to him perhaps losing his wife and unborn child...That is one sad and tragic backstory...

 

That would also explain why someone like Leliana who is an accomplished Spymaster did not notice this deception by him until perhaps later in the game...

 

That would explain how and why he got the Grey Warden paraphernalia...The would explain the Grey Warden armor that seems to fit him so well...

 

That would explain why he makes the Griffin rocking chair...That would explain why his specialization is Champion...

 

That would explain why he is very concerned with protecting other people at the cost of his own life...That would explain why his tagline is "The Resolve"

 

That would also explain why he is a loner, when you have lost so much, you end up being a Lone Wolf who wanders around protecting people at no cost...

 

So.Much.Potential.Feels.

I guess Blackwall wasn't in the marketing because feels.

 

Usually spoilers bum me out on that aspect of the game, but somehow I'm actually looking more forward to seeing what's true now. This is what you get for not giving me my fix officially, BW. *eye twitch.*

Well, we did know Blackwall is not his real name for ages.

As for being GW or not, I would wait until playing. His real name can be more important for true identity thing. If he is not GW, it would be major trolling from BW, but also explain info lack.

 

Blackwall Immediately picking up on Quisy eyeing Cass and giving him love tips kind of kills "He is socially awkward and doesn't understand innuendo, be direct with him" theory. It's suspicious that he didn't mention Leliana among advisers.
