So, I personally don't find this too spoilery but if you don't want to know about the romance arc then don't read. Also, avoid the spoiler below.

I tagged the bit that seems to be about the end of the video, so people can avoid other romance spoilers (what few there are):

I'm assuming that whether or not he leaves (with the choosing his own path) will depend on the interactions between him Quizzy, you know, whether or not he's been encouraged to join the Wardens.

With Blackwall back in the Inquisition, you’ll be able to culminate the romance by speaking to him at the stables in Skyhold.


To me it sounds like Blackwall leaves us for part of his Personal Plot, and once he returns we can talk to him and during the conversation we can send him back to the wardens, or ask him to choose his own path (the path he chooses could be affected by earlier interactions between him and Quizzy). After the talk you trigger the romance scene in the stables and then depending on the outcome of the former conversations he'll either stay or leave...

This is all speculation, I don't have the game yet, but this is how I think it'll happen. I don't think Blackwall is going to leave us every single playthrough.

What I want to know is that if he stays will I get to see that lovely Blackwall booty. I find it jarring that my character is going to wake up alone and exposed with no one to keep her warm. Honestly, I am sick of the excessive female nudity...who are they pandering to. I want what Dorianmancers got!

Ikr, although the Dorian scene  (and the Cass screenshot) has me hopeful for every other LI. If he stays I assume you'd get a different morning after scene, so maybe we will get to see some Blackwall booty

So can someone give me a non-spoilery clue on how to get Blackwall? I know he's in the Hinterlands, and Leliana has to tell you about him or something, but when does that happen?

Man I have to say blackwall is one of the most interesting characters in the game bloody hell.....

I am going with the same choice in the video he should become his own man, his on hero and atone with his own name and identity deep down I feel that sending him to the wardens is not fixing the issue he must face his mistakes as the man he is and fight as a man not as a warden.

I'm nowhere near the ending, so avoiding everything on BSN in case of spoilers, but I just had to pop in and say that Alastair Parker did a teriffic job voicing Blackwall. Back to the game

I just acquired Blackwall as a companion. I'm loving every second of him being in my party. I love his banter. Going to be my Inquisitor's bro for life!

and what theory we had heard before hand was true, his past is shady as hell. What he did wasn't right at all. So here comes the question of whether he wanting to atone for his sins it's good enough. We do know he was going to be a Warden. He was about to do the ritual but the real Blackwall perished. That doesn't bother me as much as the fact that he chose coin/politics over doing the right thing in his past. 

 

I can see how that weighs a man down and he's been trying to make amends but I don't know if pretending to be someone else is even close to the solution. I'm conflicted more about what he did before he tried to run away.

 

But I do want to believe people deserve a second chance and you can change. Funny how I didn't give Loghain the chance! lol

@panamakira - I've been thinking about the similarity between Loghain and Blackwall since the spoilers, too.  There are differences in motivation and behavior afterward.  I'm going to reserve judgement until I see more.  I still plan on romancing him with my Cadash - it's not as if her past is squeaky clean.

I personally made Loghain an warden. His crimes were grave, but his wish of atonement genuine. When I get to this part in the game I already know what to do. I will make him an warden once it's all over. If he dies at the joining, he pays, if not, he will spend the rest of his life in servitude to atone. Either way, just as Loghain, he shouldn't get free pass.
