I'm finding IB a bit squishier than I thought he'd be in combat, maybe not leveling him right? But yeah I interchanged Cass and Blackwall a lot.

agreed the way i play literally makes him immortal. Im not joking doesnt lose heath from ANYTHINGThe Champion specialization pretty much makes him the best tank in the game, 100%. I don't think Blackwall ever once got a low health indicator for me, even in dragon fights. It was glorious.

Eh I wouldn't say the best tank in the game, that's debatable between him and Cass
Champion > Templar. But she's not exactly a bad tank either.

I prefer Iron Bull as a tank to blackwall just a personal preference.

Yeah, they just had to make him the best tank in the game. I'm sure there are people who really hated him after the reveal but saved him just because he's an awesome tank. xD
That dilemma was what led me to asking for ways to view what he did as redeemable. ![]()
But there is no "relationship" in the Inquisitor romances her. Any indication otherwise is a bug.
I know that. I'm talking about when neither is in a relationship with the Inquisitor. It's like me explaining what happens with Garrus/Tali, Fenris/Isabela, or Dorian/The Iron Bull if neither are romanced.

Blackwall is the most amazing (non-PC) ,tank, because of Walking Fortress alone. He managed to kill the Red Lyrium Dragon single-handed in my game by popping that every time it went to blast him. It couldn't touch him any other way. It took a looooooooong time to die because his DPS is understandably terrible, but he got there in the end.
It was also so appropriate on a story level that I like to think bards everywhere are singing songs about it afterwards

Yeah, he was a bit of a glass cannon for me too, for whatever reason. Not sure if I did something wrong, or that's just how he works. Maybe it's because he doesn't wear a damned shirt. :S
I'd often just bring three warriors including my Inquisitor plus Vivienne for dragon fights, and more than once it ended with Blackwall being the last one alive and taking every hit like a champ. Nothing ever cracked the guard he'd built up, and when playing as him, Shield Wall was basically cheating. You can deflect some of the dragon's projectile things back at them with it. ![]()

Dorian and IB are the only characters in game that hook up. The only ones, no one else does.
The point is that the Josephine and Blackwall relationship (such as it is) is along these lines, even if they don't do anything about it. Want to keep splitting hairs some more? Feel free.

How did you get Thom Rainier out of prison? Pulling strings, breaking him out with forces, or switching him with an impostor?

Spoiler
It is like that.

Switched him with a traitor who passed as a lookalike.

Respectfully, I'll believe it when I see a dev post - not that I expect them to have so much free time as to intervene on such a trivial matter.
Actually, considering that I do regard the matter as trivial, I should be self-consistent and stop discussing it.

Pulling strings is the only ethically acceptable option, in my opinion. Causing the deaths of other people to save him from a legally justified punishment is completely wrong. I took Josephine's method without a second thought.

Pretty much that - at least I found Walking Fortress pretty useful. I got obliterated due to the unfortunate fact that this army of freaking giants kept attacking me. I swear to God, it was four to six giants in a row.
While I survived the gauntlet of giants, the last giant knocked everyone out except for Blackwall. He was the last man standing, and I ended up using Walking Fortress, Shield Wall, etc. and ended up surviving - which I was quite grateful for since I didn't want to reload.

This is the conversation I was thinking of, with Sera and Blackwall. I'll put it behind a spoiler tag, just in case people don't want to know the banter before they hear it in game.

Pulling strings, the other options seemed terrible to me.

So you think that Blackwall's irredeemable but you have no problem with setting someone else up to die for a crime they didn't commit? You don't see that as problematic?

I just had Josephine pull strings the first time. I loaded it up again from the prison scene on to try different dialogue options as a test, and then I used the Leliana option (I believe that's the one where you switch him with an impostor) to see what Blackwall would say about it (he certainly isn't happy about any of the ways that you use to get him out of there).

I for one was totally down with the Blackwall/Cassandra ship before release but that's just me.
