That scene exists but apparently it's not triggering. If you look up Gaider's posts here on the forum, he was surprised people weren't getting that scene.

Ok, thank you - I'll do a search for Gaider. He posts as Gaider, no?

Yes, his forum name is David Gaider. I'd get it for you but I'm on mobile, sorry.

I am SO buying one of those Blackwall t-shirts.....

Now if it was only the romance tarot card. (so very hot imo)

That wouldn't be creepy to walk around wearing would it?

(must get image of Blackwall Cards for my desktop)

I kind of wish they had a romance tarot-version of the shirt as well - but I can totally get away with wearing it full-time because I telecommute, lol.

I agree with Jaulen (waves hi)

One thing which is a bit irksome, though, at least for me, traipsing around Thedas with him in tow, is that he never lets up on that and it gets old after a while.
So it would be nice  - even "just" in banter - to have him show some kind of progression, especially with a fTrevelyan romance - because wouldn't some of the courtly manners have rubbed off on a captain looking to make his way?

/A

There's progression in the banter with Dorian, which I liked. They give each other a hard time, but after the revelation they apologize to one another, and eventually Blackwall even asks Dorian if he thinks they could be friends. Dorian replies something to the effect of "yes, but it will take an awful lot of soap."  It was quite funny & cute!

All those bugs people write about make me almost happy I don't have the game yet...

Back to Blackwall ;) I don't know what happens with the Wardens in DAI (haven't spoiled myself that yet), or if we know what happens to our Warden from DAO, but... Assuming the option with Blackwall joining the Wardens after DAI, I've been wondering how a meeting between him and Warden Commander Cousland would go, considering the past... Wardens being transferred from one country to another isn't something unheard of, after all.

Spoiler

I didn't send Blackwall there, but if I had, my Brosca would be wary (she's not into idealizing the Wardens), but welcome him. She spared Loghain, after all.

My Wardens would do the right thing: Give Rainier a shield so he can still do all his useful things while serving as Darkspawn bait.

The noble who hired him could be equated to Howe. It would be similar if Howe's captain was told that the castle would be empty except for the father, say if all the family had left for a summer home or something. Then he leads the attack, and finds the house full of people, including children. His men already fighting, he doesn't do anything to stop it.

My Cousland forgave Nate, who was part of the family. Her bloodlust was slated when she killed Howe. He's the one she blamed, he's the one that wanted it done. She would be wary, but after everything she's gone through I think she would understand that he's been trying to atone, and not give him too much grief. It would take a long time for them to be friends, since she will never quite be over finding her nephew slain, but were they to work closely with one another, I think they would eventually get past it.

My other wardens (I have so many, at least one from each background) would all react a little differently, but I can actually see him and my Brosca really hitting it off. She was quite full of herself and skills for a while, and did several things for money that she wasn't too proud of -- she wouldn't get his idealizing the Wardens (she never has), but she would get how he ended up in such a bad place and wouldn't hold his past against him at all. They sure would bad mouth nobility together, that's for sure!

It's kind of fun to think of him with each of my Wardens.

Saw pics of the effects on the hair on the PC on ultra...yeah...I dunno how it's going to be later when I play. They did fix/improve some things like the radar, but others things not so much. Ah well, such is the nature of complex games - meh.

Who wouldn't forgive Nathaniel?  The idea of holding him responsible for his fathers misdeeds feels entirely wrong.  I never played awakenings with a Cousland (only got it about 5 months ago on a Steam sale and played it for the first time) so it was my male elf warrior Theron that got to meet him.

Theron is a sarcastic little sh*t of an elf (endearingly so) and I thought Nathaniel's somewhat Carver like nature bounced well off him.

So the patch is out for the game and it fixes the Hawke bug I got (thankfully because the next Hawke I run is my favourite Hawke and not being able to customise Caleb would have made me sad indeed)

EDIT - I heard what the patch does to hair called the 'pantene pro V effect'

@Bugsie: lol - used to actually use pantene for a long time, so that's pretty amusing. Yeah, I forgave Nate too. In my opinion, he was a good guy, and what his father did was entirely on his father alone. I had no reason to hold anything against Nathaniel when we finally met. Justice had been visited upon Arl Howe (jerk!), and that was the end of it.

I always forgave Nathanial too......never was one for 'sins of the father' and all that.

Unless of course you were culpable in those sins.....

I like the romance tarot, I think I could get away with wearing a t-shirt with that down the pub with a pair of jeans and sneakers, with my hair all scruffy and sipping a pint of beer, but I don't do that much anymore!!!

 I like this idea!

Although I would probably spend most of my time in the bathroom staring at my chest in the mirror with a creepy grin on my face.

Or stretching it out so I could see the image, again with a creepy grin on my face.

My husband would be sitting next to me, embrassaed to be in public with me.

I find it hard to talk about the game without a big smile on my face, especially if I mention Blackwall. No matter how I tell myself to act normal, I end up grinning like an idiot. Now the only one I'll really talk to about it is a friend that understands, since she's a fangirl herself for many things. We can goofy smile together, even if we're talking about different subjects!

edit: I've heard the pc update really gives that hair shine gloss, and changes a lot of textures. Since I haven't had too many bugs so far, I'm hoping that by unchecking "auto updates" in origin, I won't get the patch yet. Crossing fingers.

Anyone on PC have a good experience appearance-wise since the patch?

I haven't done the patch as yet - and wont be able to see until tonight - but as I've been forewarned I might stop any updates until I've at least finished this playthrough.

I haven't really had too many bugs as a whole - the Hawke bug and one with Morrigan not recognising my warden as female and the fact it was Alistair that got jiggy with her...

This thread needs more artwork!!  I'm number crunching and I need motivation to keep going!

The romance tarot is cool, but it makes me sad because Hella is not white. And I get the black/white theme they were going for, but with a Quizzie who is dark skinned...it's awkward.

Here, quick, take a slide on the dance floor...

Heck, I still fangirl over Garrus, who will forever be my main Bioware Squeeze. *sigh*

I was thinking as I was driving home......how my *usually* first character in BW games is my cannon and my favorite (no matter how much I screw it up.....and so with the LI......So then I was imagining my alter Mass Effect ego and Garrus meeting my Dragon Age alter egos and all the LIs (Zevran, Fenris, Blackwall), and the ME alter ego wondering why the DA alt was so schitzo. (one of me, three of them!)

I turned off atuo-update in Origin....here I go to try the game and see if it uploaded that patch or hopefully not

Edit: looks like you have to be in offline mode. Won't allow playing without the update if logged in

Oh, I loved that little dance scene. "I didn't know you danced."  "I did, once. In another life."  :crying: So glad they added little touches like that with the LIs, though I do wish there had been more of them (I'm not ungrateful and entitled, honest!!) Although I think I prefer the alternative outcome to that scene, where he just puts his arm around the Inquisitor on the balcony.

GAH! Why are you doing this to me, Blackwall!? I'm not one to go all gooey over fictional characters! (Not to this extent, anyway. I adored Alistair in Origins but this is on another level entirely!)
