Yeeeeeah, that banter bug...I agree with veeia; you'd find he's a bit less dour when the banter is working. Honestly, the time I was in that swamp in the Exalted Plains and he made that comment about leeches was pretty funny. Ah, what was it: "Ever wonder what it's like to have leeches in your pants? Well, now you know!" (something like that - his delivery of the line was light-hearted - lol).

So sorry Addai! Yeah, I think you missed a good chunk of the romance, because there's an awesome scene in there, and some more little heart's to choose.

Yeah I backtracked and you have to take the heart option right after Haven or no go. Not cool. It wasn't even a "choose one or the other" thing, it was just one of many and I decided I didn't like to move in on him after they'd really only had one flirtatious conversation in Haven.

This is why some spoilers are good. Now I saw all his personal quest but without the romance angle to it. Bah.

I must have the banter bug because I am totally not hearing any of these great convos.  Even when I took IB out after revelations with Blackwall - nada, zip, nothing.  I've had one or two with Cole, but even they stopped.

 

The most annoying thing - hearing banter you've already heard even when you change the party up a little.  Well I downloaded the patch last night, cleaned out the codex made sure all the quests were ticked off.  Now maybe I'll hear something *sigh*

Sometimes I just go from person to person, asking what they all think of one another. Last night Blackwall told me he misjudged Cole, and that the boy just needs some looking after. He was really sweet about him. (Which I liked, because I'm fond of Cole).

 

I love Cole too. My first playthrough was the outcasts- Blackwall, Cole, and Solas. They were all pretty kind to each other, but a little on the serious side. On the second playthrough, I'm still slumming it- Blackwall, Iron Bull, Sera. I don't know if the "posh" party members, like Vivienne and Dorian, will ever get a chance to be in my party!

So I just recently started getting Blackwall saying "Are you alright, love?" when I get injured in combat.. And..   I melted.

 

 

I kind of wonder if the other romance characters have lines too.

Because I have to admit, I say 'alright love' quite a bit to friends (my Scots parentage, it was always, 'love' or 'pet' or 'hen' words of affection without any romantic link at all)

 

But yeah, it's a bit melty.

Nah its romance specific, and seems to be limited to certain areas/quests. Were you near Darkspawn on the Storm coast when you heard that, Nhadalie?

I first got the 'you all right love' trying to close the level 15 rift on the Storm Coast with a Level 11 PC

 

Suffice to say, I heard it several times and I don't think I've gone back to try and close it yet (currently level 17)

I've done a Templar Dorianmance and a Mage one, haha. (Haven't finished either tho, I have too many Quizzies going at a time! It's a delightful problem) I like the Mage one, because there are some cute moments like Dorian promising to protect Quizzie and Quizzie saying there's no one they'd rather be stuck in the horrible future with (those are for all Quizzies but its cute when ya know you're going to romance him).

But I also liked having a Mage fearing, Tevinter hating Quizzie have his whole world upturned by the appearance of Dorian. Plus I love Dorian's comments with Cullen when he arrived on that path.

Yeah him and Cullen on that path are awesome "I didn't come here so you could drop rocks on my head!" plus I prefer Cole saving Quizzy in Therinfall. It makes it much easier for even my spirit leery people to keep him around.

I think the hotfix went live earlier? Well, something updated. If you were using the workaround, you'll need to delete it from the command line before playing - don't know if that'll help. I guess if you already did that, it won't - heh.

You miss big chances for approval with Dorian on the Templar path, unfortunately. Your best bet there is to do the Venatori hunts. Personally I like his content for Adamant better than the Winter Palace, so if you do end up doing it later, you'll still get that good stuff.

The one last Venatori mission? I did it. Apparently not enough. Ah well. Maybe next run.

Hehe, seems like the shiny hair is gone, thank goodness! Shiny hair BEGONE! Did get some Cole/Blackwall banter too, so that was a plus (on the other hand, they weren't talking about the cheeriest thing ever - heh).

I found a workaround for the banter issue here and it works for me. It was before the patch, so not sure if it's necessary anymore, but can't hurt.

 

I successfully romanced Blackwall when I recruited Templars (he approved) AND made Dorian my bff. He kind of hated me at first, though. I killed some Venatori with him, did some of his operations on the war table and did his personal quest...

by showing him the letter and encouraging him to hear his father out.

 

I agreed with him on a lot of points in his conversations, but not all of them.

 

Back to Blackwall, you can actually flirt with him twice in Haven (not counting his recruitment mission) - once with "You're charming" option. Another time will pop up if you've found at least one of his Grey Warden shinies.

I took the "What if everyone else hated me?" option, and he said something like "It would be you and I against the world." My quizzy remebered that much later when all the drama went down. Nice work by the writer.

Yeah. I was doing the down with darkspawn quest.

 

It wasn't like a halfhearted pet name. It was full on concern, and affection. Super swoon worthy.

 

And I never got it outside of his romance before. So I think it's a romance specific dialogue.
