I had written two fanfics for DAO and nothing for DA2. I do science writing for work....so it's all very dry/undescriptive/boring.......other than those two fanfics, last time I wrote anything 'creative' was for an anthropology class in college back in the early 1990's.
After the ME3 ending mess. It got me to thinking, "even with my horrid story telling abilities I could write something better!"
So i started writing.
Have a huge fantasy world planned out, all the characters laid out, a general plot outline, and a couple of chapters written (totally out of order).
But I just haven't had the 'drive' to sit down and write it, it was like the creating of the world and characters totally took the story out of me (I even drew a world map, defined countries and their economies, have three major religions, defiend the different species/how they interact with each other/generl apperance/their religion/and magic (or lack of) abilities, and created a numbering system and alphabet)
Did the same thing for a fantasy chick-lit style story with same outcome.
But mainly I've just been doing flash fiction contests, trying to hone my writing. Have to write really tight when having a word limit. I'm finding editing takes more time than the initial writing. It's only on a web forum, but I got seond place in last months entry. (went and read some of my initial entries and *phew* my writing has changed considerably over the last year or two)
