Huh, strange. I think you only get 2 comments from your party, so maybe you got the other two both times? Did he say anything? You could try just taking him to see if that triggers it.

I had Dorian, Vivienne, and Cassandra. I remember Vivienne saying something about how barbaric the hanging process was. Dorian didn't say anything. Oh well. There's always next time.

I love bringing Varric to Val Royeaux when the revelation happens because he ends up saying two things that make me laugh.
First, upon the guilty party's list of crimes and punishment "Well this is grim".
Second, when Blackwall comes on the Gallows and is leading up to his reveal: "Oh ****...."
Varric, you genre savvy bastard.
Sera's got a line too and it made me laugh, but Varric's was just priceless.
LOL I had both Varric and Dorian with me during that scene!! I remember Varrics line but don't recall Dorians (if he said anything at all)

I had Dorian and Cole talk, it was kinda amusing. Dorian said he wondered who this man was to Blackwall for him to try and save him like this. Cole said "they're going to kill him!" and Dorian snapped back really sarcastically with something like "How did you come to that conclusion?" xD

Quick question. I know a few of you guys have romanced him with Qunari, but do you get any race specific dialogue with him? I know dwarves get to talk about their shady past and whatnot, so I was wondering if the Qunari got anything similar.

I think the only race specific is at the beggining - ie surprised that you're a qunari and the inquisitor, but you get that from a few people so the memory is blurred on anything else.
However I wanted to slap that noble down at the Winter Palace who said I was someones pet though!

Oh, wow.
Because I spam the Search button even when walking around someplace familiar, I found Blackwall's letter to his recruits, the one in World of Thedas, Vol 1, where Blackwall writes that Wardens are forbidden to enter Ferelden during Loghain's regency. It pretty much contradicts everything Blackwall said about how he spent his time during the Blight. I'm going to go talk to him in the stable and see what he says about it.
(You can find the letter in Leliana's loft, past the raven cages, on the left, on a barrel not far from the shrine.)

So after my poor Lavellan had her heart broken by Solas, I decided to finally try to play as a human and acting on a whim my Trevelyan went and flirted with Blackwall....and completely and totally melted. He is charming and lighthearted and that chuckle of his.. *swoons*. Is..is melting normal? ![]()

Melting is totally normal.
And unless you are already in liquid form, totally expected.
Finally had the Solas post-reveal Banter and *whoa* nasty guy! Hopefully he will mellow soon.
If playing on PC and having less banter than before the game, try going into Origins and doing 'repair game'.
Got banter back for me.

^^ Solas mellows soon. Blackwell is always going to be Blackwell, and not the most tactful of men. But he takes his lumps with dignity, so that's something.

Didn't get this when I was romancing BW as Cadash, but when Trevalyan goes to kiss him, she caresses his face. I guess it would have been too much of a reach for Cadash.

So I finally recruited Blackwall on my new Inquisitor and this time I recorded his response to my first flirt (and where he can find more) with him so I can treasure it forever! ![]()
A friend told me today that it was like Blackwall was written specifically for me and that she was jealous. I told her it does feel that way and I love it! mwahaha
berelinde: I have to say it since I think it every time I see your avatar. He looks amazing!

Regarding Blackwall, I feel the same way about him. I love how he's rough around the edges, but caring and devoted inside. I even like the pain. After all, everyone has regrets. It isn't what you've done, it's what you learn from it.
Regarding the avatar, that's Beldin, a persistent NPC in a tabletop/PbP campaign I'm running. He's a weapon-and-shield warrior the tabletop group nicknamed "Ser Beldin the Absorbent" for his tanking abilities. I got lucky with the character creator. ![]()

Just think of it as us having more refined tastes than others and a greater appreciation for morally complex characters. Besides, I think there were other unpopular characters (I voted for Carver and Sebastian, who has now edged over into "yeah, I don't really like you" land after trying to invade Kirkwall).

^^ I'm kinda on the fence about Sebastian. I like him well enough, but he suffers from being a DLC character and not developed as fully as the others. I *adore* Carver. Yes, he's an annoying little sh!t, but that's what little brothers *are*. But i don't mind if our tastes differ. You aren't writing a 97-page essay about why you hate Carver nor are you implying there's something wrong with the tastes of those who like him. Diff'rent strokes. ![]()

@Berelinde: Yeah, it's not so much that I hate Carver - and, in my opinion, he at least manages to show some growth after joining the Wardens (in my case) - it's more like I have some lingering exasperation/annoyance/issues with Carver over his engaging in occasionally jerk-like behavior at the worst possible moments. If I could've punched little bro at some point, we'd probably be over it and would have at least mostly made up by now.
I should have put Velanna on the list, though - her personality was rather grating, although I did keep her on the team. As for Sebastian, hey, I was mostly okay with him/semi-liked him in DA2, but trying to stomp all over Aveline, one of my BFFs in DA2 (Varric being BFF #1), was unacceptable!

I only dislike characters when they don't really cause me to feel anything. That being said, I wasn't a huge fan of Velanna, Fenris, and Sebastian. Not enough meat to them.

..but I do get that. Some characters are more interesting than others. I do think some are deceptively bland on the surface and then have fascinating things underneath. I will always try to dig and find something interesting about someone to cry over because, feelings.
