You have to flirt with him on the battlements. And you may need to compensate for the approval loss if you conscripted the mages/templars.

I haven't flirted with anyone at all. I waited until I made up my mind because I didn't want to be a heartbreaker. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a flirt option during the conversation on the ramparts. So I may be out of luck and have to go back to just before In Your Heart Shall Burn? Aargh.

Edit: I don't think approval is a problem. He and my Inquisitor are peas in a pod. Shortly after the ramparts conversation, I talked to him in the stables and he was practically glowing about how proud he was to work with her. "You are who you follow." It was really sweet. In a platonic way.

In that case I think you need to reload and flirt with him in Haven. I hope you don't lose too many hours, but it's all worth it in the end!

Darn. Still, I'm glad I found that out now instead of after finishing Memories of the Grey (which will take a while, by the look of it). I think I'll be dumping around 20 hours of gameplay (I've been running around doing a lot of sidequests), but I don't think I want to play through a BioWare game with romances and not do one. It'll be worth the reload, I'm sure. ;-)

 

Just to be clear, do I just need to flirt with him once in Haven? Just take that "You're strangely charming" option? If so, I'll just go back to my last save before In Your Heart Shall Burn and resume from there.

No problem   If you've started doing Memories of the Grey in Haven, then you can flirt with him twice there. Talk to him once you've found at least one of his Grey Warden thingies, he will thank you for helping him and you can flirt in response. The other one is the "You're charming" option, which is always there in Haven. I don't know if you have to take both of them, though, but they're really sweet, so it can't hurt

I really thought my elf hadn't taken any flirts with him at Haven, and I am pretty sure she had the ramparts option, but maybe I'm remembering wrong....this is highly possible.

The first few flirts aren't really that serious with anyone, you get a "commit to a relationship with x" warning if it gets serious so as to avoid heartbreak

I'm pretty sure my elf had the heart option on the ramparts, and had "you admire me?" in Skyhold, too. But I found out the hard way if you take the hearts in Haven and don't do so on the ramparts, it cuts off the romance and you get no other chance.

Jump the beard, just do it.

So decided to spend some time doing some photo manips last night, with a theme 'Hipsters of Thedas' I did Dorian first and it turned out pretty crappy unfortunately. Solas turned out wonderful though. I'm struggling to find a good hipster photo for Blackwall though. I'm sure one will show up sooner or later. Might give Sera a go too.

Yeah the real Blackwall was in Orlais during the blight, writing angry letters to Loghain, so he def wouldn't have tried to recruit Rainier until after Duncan was dead.

Do we have any confirmation on what year that was though? I'm very confused about when Blackwall became Blackwall. I'm sure it's in the codexes and I just missed it. I'll check later if no one else does, but right now I'm doing a v important Blackwall related modding thing, which I shall leave a mystery and only reveal if it works.

 

Just got back to Skyhold (red templars on Nightmare = not fun as far as the assault on Haven goes) and found the letter from the real Blackwall upstairs; the date at the end said 9:30 Dragon.

Went through Revalations tonight. Hah a bit of an emotional day playing this game. Crazy. Lots of thoughts but not much brain at this hour. But, in short - relieved to have that behind me.

Cadash said she didn't love him, and he just slumped. It was horrible, but I left it that way since I liked how he called her out. She's not been a lash out in anger person, but after watching how he handled himself at Adamant, thinking perhaps everything would be okay, then having this bomb dropped, it's all seriously confusing. Poor girl.

Came upstairs and my husband's inquisitor is playing Wicked Grace with everyone. I laughed waaay too hard.

So I made my second Quizzy.  It's a dude though so no Blackwall loving for him (unfortuneately -  he's a cutie elf too)  Although, you know I can always flirt.
