He's a rather bulky fellow, isn't he? Do you think its possible he's half-dwarf? As I recall they're a bit shorter than humans and quite a bit bulkier. He could just be a big guy, but I just thought I'd throw the idea out there.

No worries, people are just waiting for new info, that's all. His name, his background (for some reason I think he is Orlesian, may be because of that execution concept art), who writes him, voice actor, a couple of screenshots, anything. But most of all, his damn name! If I'm not mistaken, Beardy and DHMG are the only companions without names at this moment.

Cullen has about 10 thousand post thread on DA 2 forum, in addition to the new forum. Are you sure you are ready for this challenge?

While I'm not sure if this is applicable to others, here's a true story of how I very recently got my, erm, push into the Ser Bara Warden appreciation pit.

It's been how I've pictured him for a while.  Granted, I am predisposed to see RA everywhere because he's Mr. Armitage.

Thank you! If you visit my DeviantArt regularly, you definitely know that I've had a head start on the DA:I arts. But I've only just started with Ser Bara Warden...but I'll eventually catch up to occupy the 6 months till gametime and god knows how long after.

 

If he is romanceable, aaaaie caramba I'm done for.

Okay, since I'm a latecomer to this thread am slowly making my way through from the beginning, stop me if I'm just repeating what's already been discussed.

 

 

So, looking at this particular concept art, is it safe to say that the Warden is an Orlesian? The leonine statues in the back seem to indicate so as its a symbol associated with the Orlesian upper class/nobility. The masks the people in the background are also Orlesian motifs, similar to the Chevalier armor set in the Warrior Pack DLC in DA2:

 

 

So thing raises another point; Was the Warden formerly a Chevalier, recruited into the Orlesian branch? This is because while at first glance, the amulet he's wearing looks like a griffon, but when you compare it with the Grey Warden insignia...

 

...the griffon is lacking the long, singular tail and frontal claws. From one angle, it looks like a perched peacock  with its tailed fanned in (which we know from the Masked Empire is bird found roaming Celene's gardens, so I assume is a common pet of the general Nobility), and from another it's like a decorative bird design...a symbolic phoenix? Does anyone know what the Chevalier insignia looks like? In case if it's been mentioned or illustrated in the tabletop RPG sourcebooks, etc.

 

The association of decorative bird design with Chevaliers is there for me is also because

of the masks Gaspard and Michel wear in the early chapter of Masked Empire, that seems to feature plumes prominently and are used in the mock duel proposed by Celene as an out for Bann Teagan.

 

So...could the Warden be a disgraced Chevalier saved by the hangman's noose by a Grey Warden recruiter, and eventually joins the Inquisition at some point? Which would make him join the order quite late in life, and not near his Calling yet?

He could be both. A former chevalier and a recently made Warden.
It's an interesting speculation, Aimo. So far I believed that in the concept he was leaving the Wardens, but you raised good points.
