Meet Orien .LI for BlackWall.
Wanted to post this in the customization-character creator forum ,but are't allowed to. Anyone know why that is?
I am sorry, but her expression really seem like "oh **** what am I about going into now", hahaha.

I now know why I never heard this in my game ... he doesn't say it! I found the point where you run towards the ocularum, but all Blackwall repeats for me is, "That's the end of that."
I experimented with different save points, with the quest open & finished, different points in the romance arc -- but no matter what, he just tells me that's the end of that. Nooooo. I am a sad panda.
edit: Guess this means, I'll just have to romance him again. For science!
Noooooooo - doh! No one should be denied that line!!!!! I wonder why you're not getting it...hmm...well, I traveled to the Storm Coast via the war table due to the banter issues (wanted to play it safe). Maybe you can travel via the war table and see if it shakes things up there? Considering how weirdly the banter can behave, it could be worth a shot.

Woot!! It totally worked, going from the war table. Well, I still got the other after-battle lines, too. But I didn't give up, and about the fifth or sixth time running around in a circle, I got the line!
I also had Sera with me, and she and Blackwall had a few conversations during our runabout the cliff side. My favorite: Beardy! Fuzzhead!
And just because I was so happy about getting the line:
So I was just playing around with the CC again and made a male dwarf.
He and Blackwall are totally gonna be dude bros together. Beards FTW!
Can you get him out of the jail once main story is finished or that mission just disappears from War table..?

I believe it's too late once you've finished the final main quest. At that point all Inner Circle quests are removed if I'm not mistaken.
Hello! I have a question about Blackwall. I am playing a new character, a hot/adorable Carta Dwarf named Freja. I'm curious about the Blackwall Romance. FYI, I am a die hard Solasmancer, and I'm trying to get over the elven glory. (I strictly only hang out on the Solas thread in these forums, so I apologize if this isn't the place to ask!)
I'm debating between Blackwall, Iron Bull, or Sera as a romance match for my Cadash. If anyone who has had the Blackwall Romance could give me some pointers/argue why I should romance him, I would super appreciate it. I very nearly romanced him on my first playthrough, but when he brought me to the Battlements, he wanted to break it off. I agreed with him, because he seemed so adamant, and also FADE TONGUE. (this allowed that freaking egghead to swoop in. I GOT SWOOPED).
I feel like Sera or Iron Bull might be a better romance fit for my Cadash, because I didn't want much angst this go round, but Blackwall's voice is panty-dropping. Is there too much angst? Is there resolve? Does he take his shirt off? These are all important facts that I desperately need to know. I've played through the game, so I am aware of his reveal, and that doesn't bother me, obvi, because dat beard doh and his endless blue eyes. Thanks in advance for all responses.
1. The angst is about what you'd expect given his history and personal quest. You can get a happy ending out of it if you play your cards right, so I'd say he's less angsty than Solas. (Of course, there are a lot of things less angsty than the Solas romance.)
2. So much resolve.
3. Not in game, alas, but the sex romance card is hot like burning.
I think he's an excellent fit for a Cadash, depending on how you play her. (Mine was an assassin who'd done some pretty horrible things, so her main reaction to the truth coming out what 'why the !@#$ did you not just tell me?!' They went looking for redemption together.) Since you have correctly recognised his many excellent qualities, I'd say give him a shot!
Andraste_Reborn pretty much said it all (3. Not in game, alas, but the sex romance card is hot like burning.). <--Loved this, btw!
I've not romanced him with a dwarf but I can say that I really loved his whole story arc/reveal/romance. But all I ever do is gush about him, which I'm sure anyone here can tell you.
I say give him a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed. At all.
Yeah, echoing the others above A ) you don't get to see him nekkid in the game, but dang - that romance tarot card shows off just about all of his assets and B ) the romance can end happily (assuming that you can see past what he did).
I never cease to find the existence of that card amazing . Cassandra and Solas are fully clothed in their romance cards, Sera has only taken off her shoes, Bull's is a head shot. Dorian also has his shirt off, but the picture shows a lot less. Meanwhile, the forty-five-year-old dude has a naked picture cut off exactly as low as they could get away with.
Both Sera and Blackwall's romances are amazing, but I really prefer Blackwall/Cadash and Sera/Adaar. (Can't comment on IB). Cadash gets a special dialogue with Blackwall that is pretty meaningful, imo, and you can shape an arc there that's pretty cool. You can do that with any race, of course, but I'm firmly in that camp. And Sera and a dwarf are very cute together, but Sera has Qunari-fever, so it's hilarious to see her falling all over Adaar (and also feels nice because so many other people call Adaar an ugly oxman brute or wev).
However, if you're really in the mood for something lighter, I would go with Sera. Her romance quest is amazing and she's a lot of fun. I wont' spoil anything, since I don't know how much you know about it, but the way her romance is designed makes it feel much more integrated, because everyone acknowledges your relationship and comments on it and you can read Sera's always changing little book and there's lots of sweet little romance tidbits in it, and she's always coming up with new nicknames for you and it's just cute and fun.
Personally I think Blackwall's drama is kind of fun, because it's way more telegraphed than Solas's and you get so many different ways you can respond to it, and also it can end really happily and there's some humor in it it too, esp if you play a sarcastic/clever Quizzie. The thing with Blackwall is that he's actually just a very laid back, chill dude, but everything is all heightened by the weight of his lies and situation. So when it's drama, it's DRAMA!!! But it really resolves into something that feels very domestic and healthy and happy, imo.

I needed that card in order to make sure what I had imagined was under that damn padded coat was at least something close to the truth. ![]()
Gonna add Seregwen - I did Blackwall with an qunari because I wanted a bigger woman/smaller man thing - but I think the Cadash pairing is where it's at.

I suspect that one of the reasons he's never shirtless in the romance is that they spent the whole budget on Iron Bull's pillowy man-bosoms and didn't have anything left to give him a custom torso with the scars you can see on the card. I know that the reason Fenris puts his clothes back on right after sex in DA2 is that the writers asked for a custom shirtless model for that one scene and the designers laughed at them.
To be honest, I'd rather have the card than see Blackwall with the default nude male model. (Besides, the card sticks around for the rest of the game ...)
I thought the Blackwal reveal was really cool, definitely one of the better moments in the series, caught we completely by surprise. Well done BW on that one.

And doubly sexy because the Quizzy has her hands all over him - yesssssssss.

I have a friend who has not spoilered his playthrough, he pretty much knows nothing - we're talking about it now and I just have to bite my tongue!
I agree with what everyone has said, here! My first Blackwall romance was with a human rogue, but I'm already planning the dwarf to run his romance again.
There is the drama of his revelation quest, but the ending with him is lovely (depending on your choice, of course -- if you don't forgive him, then not so happy! lol).
Also, a wonderful bit of the Blackwall romance is the repeatable kiss. That barn kiss is hot
