No I haven't played it, people seem to really like it that have played it. I It appears we have similar tastes, so maybe one to put on my list!

Oh yeah, before I forget, I'm going to link this (see page 2 of the thread and take a look at who apparently made the cut as a hot guy - hahaha): http://www.neogaf.co...t=964315&page=2

To explain, guy friend #2 is aware that I have a huge crush on Blackwall, so he was like, hey, take a look at this thread and go through it because I know you like hot guys (also, he was determined to get me to comment on all the guys and whether or not I actually found them hot - lol!). Also, how that one poster could think that Joel (from TLoU) isn't hot, I will never understand! Oh, and Dorian got linked in there, too - tee-hee!

Thanks for that link! I have been gaming a LONG time, and I have had video games crushes since the 8 bit days. If I listed all my crushes, I would be writing all day. It is awesome to see other people's choices, since I probably agree with most of them. DA:I really did a great job of having a variety of attractive and interesting LI choices. With the exception of Iron Bull, I find them all to be smoking hot! I rarely play as male characters if I have a choice, but Dorian and Cass will not be denied.

Haha, that post is mine! (For some reason I didn't think to use the same username when I registered here, and I kind of hate the one I have now, lol)
I saw that thread and just had to spread the Blackwall love! And yes, Dojima and Joel are completely swoonsome too.

So I finally got the reconciliation scene out of my head and in writing.

It's unedited, and depending on whether I take the story beyond that point as to whether I'll bother.

Here, take a gawk if you're interested (it's not long.)

There are a couple things that don't make sense in this, but overall a very well done scene.

Hmm, Solas commentary on the relationship. I think I heard it before but just never wrote it down - made sure to do it this time after hearing it just now, heh (if this was written down somewhere before in here, well, oops!).

Solas: So, you and the Inquisitor are together.

Blackwall: Yes. Is that a problem?

Solas: Far from it. People should seize any chance for a moment's respite in times such as these. I am glad you have allowed yourself some happiness.

Blackwall: I expected you to think I should keep punishing myself.

Solas: I would be concerned if you forgot your past, but that seems unlikely. Beyond that, guilt is a distraction, one we can ill afford.

Blackwall: What of you, then? Have you found someone to share "a moment's respite"?

Solas: I find my peace elsewhere.

Aaaaaw thankyou!

I think I've spent weeks obsessing over it but because of Christmas and everything I couldn't put my thoughts together without it seeming incoherent. The last couple of days gave me some time to myself to set it in concrete, which has been nice. I don't think anyone in my house understands my current obsession with DA:I!

I have just left Haven with my dude elf inquisitor and just got all emotional again. LOL.

I loved that bit.

I had to laugh at the timing when I got it the first time. I got that banter, and then the banter between Blackwall and Solas about whether Solas had ever had *ahem* relations in the fade. Solas didn't deny, so Blackwall starts laughing and says he'll take that for a yes. It gave the phrase 'find my peace elsewhere' a whole new meaning in my head, lol.

@Bugsie -- So wonderful!!! I loved it. Sera was perfect in it. I haven't signed up on the site yet, but left you kudos as a guest!!

In other randomness, my new quizzie was talking with Leliana in Haven, after recruiting Blackwall -- I think she totally knew all the way back then that he wasn't a Warden. I know later Cullen says that Leli has a soft spot for wardens, which is why she didn't know... but I think she just didn't let anyone know that she knew. From the tone of voice in this conversation, it seems like she figured it out, but decided Blackwall was still a valuable member of the team. I'd picked up on the conversation the first time around, but of course at that point I had no idea what he was really hiding. I just had suspicions. This time I paid more attention.

When you talk with her after his recruitment, first she comments that he doesn't know anything about the other wardens, then she says, "I am, however, glad that he is with us, even if he was... not what I expected." Big emphasis on the not. She continues, "He seems to be a good man and his experience will be an asset to the inquisition."

Thankyou Sabreenei!

Interesting that the flirt options just don't exist for male inquisitors and Blackwall but the do exist for female inquisitors and Cass. (can't say I never tried LOL) I'd have thought Blackwall would have been flattered. *shrugs*

I'm just watching the wonderful Neil Oliver talking Robert the Bruce and Bannockburn. Very sword and shield!

I don't know if Cass does this for the guys, since I haven't flirted with her on my guy yet. But I just chose one of the flirt options (the one with getting to know you more) and she gave me disapproval on my Adaar! lol.  It's probably the same across the board, but it was funny. My Adaar is destined for Sera, but I've been taking all the flirts with everyone in Haven. I know some of it is my own RP coloring my perception, but it seemed like she made Cullen nervous (please don't like me, please don't like me) and Cass was just like, full stop. "What's the harm in getting to know one another more?" "A lot." "Come on..." "No." "But.." "No."

Then on the other side, I have Sera laughing and being all, "Woof!" and Blackwall with his, "if the world turned against you, it would be us against the world!" speech. The flirts with Josie & Iron Bull just sail on by, like they didn't even happen, which made me laugh too. Dorian is my favorite to flirt with, but I don't have him yet. Sad face. Soon, though!

Dorian is adorable and wonderful and everything inbetween. Varriel has set his cap at him!

I don't think I ever got that far to get that rejection from Cass although I never really persisted with it once I got to certain stage in Blackwall's romance.

Really interesting what you say about Leliana possibly knowing before you did, I remember that conversation but it didn't mean much to me at the time. Also I just had the conversation with her on the traitor spy. She's so ruthless it's seems far removed from Leliana from DA:O. My characters have butted heads with her on several occasions.

In DAO we had that choice to harden her, but it seems like no matter what you did her personality starts off the same. I'm thinking the Divine's death really hit her, and "hardened" her to the point of ruthlessness. She has that early conversation, where she seems to be questioning the maker, and deciding that what he wants is the blood and sacrifice of everyone. Eeek! So no matter what else might have happened during DAO and the following ten years, she's ruthless and this game we get a chance to "soften" rather than harden her.

If only I'd realized that first time around!

On my first game, I did nothing during that scene, and then when it got to the end of the game, that was it, I couldn't stop her from

Spoiler
. My Adaar did nothing again (her character wouldn't have interfered) but on my mage I stepped in. I was surprised at how adamant Leli was, and how much I really had to press to talk her out of it.

I'm juggling so many characters now that my first run is over. I have a sword & board warrior to match up with Dorian, and a mage for Cullen, and an Adaar for Sera. I couldn't decide who to start first, so they're all in Haven right now. I'm tempted to throw in a dwarf for Blackwall, just so I can get my Blackwall fix while I'm playing the others. Too much crazy. At least I like traveling in the Hinterlands!

Adding: While I'm not sure how I feel anymore about the Dorian/Bull side romance that can happen (I've never seen it in my game, and only have read about it), I got a laugh out of taking the Iron Bull with me to Redcliffe when I went to the meeting with Alexius. When you go into the chantry to follow up on the note & meet Dorian, Bull says something like, "Watch out, you can't trust the pretty ones" (Or something to that effect.) And he said it right when I happened to be oogling Dorian like mad, thinking, how can he look so pretty even in this crappy light? <3 (Also interesting -- bringing Vivienne to the meeting, for her wonderful comments to Fiona)

Yeah she's totally hardened already.  I never hardened her in DA:O but when I get time (LOL) I might do it.  I think there are some steps you have to do prior to that mission in order for that not to happen.  Someone talked about it here or another forum because I reloaded and she still did it no matter the choice I made.

I never got the IB/Dorian thing in my first playthrough.  I'm going to be honest and say I dislike the ship and glad I never saw it, but I'm not going to be disparaging of anyone who likes it.  It's just not my cup of tea.  In fact I've been really surprised about IB not being my cup of tea for my inquisitor either, I think because I had high expectations (as opposed to the very low expectations I had for Blackwall which he fulfilled in spades   )  I don't know I'll be taking IB out more for this current playthrough as I need a 2 handed to compliment the rest so maybe that will change.

Ah Vivienne, I think she's probably good for a procircle templar playthrough, because I haven't found her useful for my Qunari warrior or my elven mage (he can't say anything right!)

Also been chatting with a friend who is regretting the Blackwall romance, partly for personal reasons, I kinda knew it wouldn't be for her and I was this this close to telling her NO GO FOR CULLEN!  Because her human mage is a sweetie and doesn't deserve angst and dirtbags.

-Someone one mentioned Rufus Wainwright's cover of Hallelujah at some point around here. It popped up on my husband's Playlist of various covers while we were driving and I was all AW DAMN.
- I have a darker variation of "is this blue or is this grey" with my eyes. :P I think technically I get to say blue, but they've been described as grey (in a poem, even, I believe something akin to stormclouds). So I never knew what to do with mine, either.
- Solas's comments actually mirror my Inquisitor' thoughts on it all. I haven't gotten that one yet I don't think. We should make sure to put these all up on the wiki or something. Some people can see what they're missing then.
- I'm looking forward to my next playthrough to try to catch the hints and buildups for so many things that are sprinkled through the game.
- It's a bit mixed when these things hit on something personal. The Blackwall romance got me on a few personal in the gut fronts, all of which were in a good way (I get why someone feels they have to hide who they are to feel that they need to be effective, I get making mistakes and needing to make something better of yourself, and I get feeling like those mistakes make you unworthy).
- I am almost to the end of the game and am torn between just getting it done, or puttering around for a bit. But my husband is still doing the "I wanna talk about the ending" dance.

I really wanna now dig out my art supplies and draw, but I have been playing too much and haven't cleaned my house. I feel awful because I take 2-3 weeks off to clean out junk from my house every December (since Microsoft clears out anyway in December, working is kinda pointless so I just do it every year). Part of it is DAI and part of it is that the car accident killed off my ability to lift, bend over, and do anything required to actually be effective.

Oh now I'm just whining. Upshot, this is enforced downtime, and I haven't had that in literally years. I feel like I was to write not just fic, but original stuff, too. Playing DAI has been good for that. I want to actually do a character journal for my Inquisitor, I took a lot of notes through the whole game on events, reactions, ect. Because I am a nerd.

This is wall of text. I am just waking up. :)

Also, I didn't see Blackwall as a dirtbag. Maybe a reformed dirtbag. Who still needed a smack with the clue-by-four. :D

Also, Bugsie: <3 the story! I love how she went to talk to Sera. Sera seems to be one of the few that accepts the reveal and looks at the good side of things (with her more chaotic nature, it makes a lot of sense). And for all of her silly, she has some good insights, so it works very well that Ciara went to talk to her. She has a way of boiling things down to something more simple. It's refreshing and you did great with Sera's character.

Two weeks! I don't think my Inquisitor could hold out that long; then again, she also owed him an apology that was eating at her. :P

Keala, are you my twin? (Except the car accident thing, sorry to hear about that)

I think it might have been me that talked about Rufus Wainright :)

I am on enforced downtime from work too, partly because they get mad at you for hoarding holidays, and because I switched to part time a couple of years ago and had a lot of leave built up before then. Not that it's not needed, the last 6months have been incredibly draining both at work and family (FIL passed away in early Sept) and deadlines have been a pain for work projects. Sometimes it felt I was bringing so much work home I might have well as been full time.

And yeah, dug my art supplies out only last week! I'm as rusty as all hell though.

In reference to dirtbag, it was more prior to Blackwall's revelation, for my friend it was just to soon after a relationship that went pear shaped and the whole saying your one person whilst you're really another was something a little too close to the bone.

At least I have got to finish the game once! Meanwhile the garden has exploded with weeds!

As for writing, apart from trying to finish a ME fanfic I've been working on for a while I have been working on some original fic too, something I have been working on for a couple of years. Hoping to make some headway on it, as long as I can stop my internal editor from stifling me! I have some ideas for more DA fic but it might be more my Lavellan rather than Adaar that gets the spotlight.

(And thanks! Glad you liked the fic. Needs some tidying up but it felt like a burden released!)

They are great together. Team mutual respect, when everyone thinks they're **** they understand, they know the deal. It's like the writers knew people would hate them and gave them each other.

I like the fact my Quizzy knows that Sera is the only non judgemental one amongst them. The rest are all sneers and disgusted noises, Ciara knows.

And thanks Veeia!

@Bugsie: Well, technically Cole isn't judgmental - he's like Mr. Forgiveness and a sweetie (uh, ignoring the mutual death pact thing...although I guess that was understandable). I otherwise agree - Sera and Blackwall seem to be on the same wavelength., hehe.

I'm obviously joking. :P Most of my best DA friends have different opinions than me, and I think it's awesome because I like to hear them.

It's more to do with how it's funny that "trash" has this dual meaning in fandom, esp on Tumblr, where you can use it to mean something you dearly love or something that you think is worthless, and sometimes the wires cross and it's funny.

edit: okay, the post I was responding to is gone so, uh, I'll leave this up for clarity.
