Do you play on PC? Maybe I'm just having something related to PC issues?

Same. Maybe they come up if you don't ask him about his past before Revelations? That's the only explanation I can think of atm.
I've never gotten to ask him about him past though? I do recall him telling me at some point he was from Markham though.

Okay, well I'm just now doing his romance a second time so I will try to watch out for these lines and see if I get them this time around. If not I'll know I have some kind of weird thing going on ![]()

That's what I was talking about. When quizzy says he doesn't sound Orlesian, is he Marcher or Fereldan, that sort of thing.
I'm on PC too.

So after the judgement, you can ask him what to call him, about the inquisition, about the wardens, and you can ask I want the truth about you. If you pick the truth you can ask him if he is Orlesian, about him being a soldier, if he was hiding, and if he had a family.
And I still swear that last line about the truth was not there before. So it may be a bug and not always show up.

Then later on, he will say that he wasn't lying then, he is from Markham

I have not seen the other lines where ask him how his day is. I would really like that one. Especially if he says something like wonderful now that you are here or something along those lines. Not that I am greedy or anything >.> have not seen the line about a dragon on the parapet or if you can sit with him either.

I've never had any of that bolded part. Now I'm sad ![]()

Here's a pic of the dialogue tree. It's under Investigate --> I want the truth about you, which showed up immediately after his judgment for me.

You can ask him what he did before he was a Warden and where he's from. One of the options is commenting that his name doesn't sound Orlesian, and he will say he's from Markham.
Then later on, he will say that he wasn't lying then, he is from Markham
I don't recall this either.
I'm off to play DA:I and find these missing options!

I always take all conversation options and I never got anything that looks like that from any investigate with him. ![]()
I did feel like after the judgment like "What?? That's it?" It felt like it ended so suddenly. Now I guess I know why.

I'm on PC and I got it all.
Did you do all the investigate options with Blackwall when you first recruited him? I suppose it's possible if you missed them, or the game thought you did, there'd be nothing to clear up?

Yes. All conversations options with all companions. Sometimes I even ask stuff 2 or 3 times to make sure I took them all ![]()

I thought that maybe the option is there, but I haven't picked it because I thought he would say the same thing as before or something, but I'm pretty positive I haven't seen the ones on the image above. I've deleted a bunch of saves from my first Inquisitor to replay her *screams internally* and other quizzies aren't anywhere near that point yet, so I can't check it out. Oh well, I'll be heading to Adamant soon and to his quest afterwards, anyway.

Kaidan Fan, here's the dialogue tree where you can ask him about his past. It's Investigate--> Let's talk about you, and should be available as soon as you get him.

@veeia: I have gotten the questions in that second picture. But not the ones in the first picture.
So can the ones in the picture from Haven lead to the ones you're asking him in the barn in the same convo? Because if that's the case, I never got any of those ![]()

He references them, which is why I wondered if maybe you didn't get that Investigate option if you didn't pick the earlier ones....ie he says "Didnt' I say I was from Markham? That part wasn't a lie" or something like that,
Posted about this on tumblr in the tags, hopefully will hear from other people to see if this is a larger issue?
I'm sorry for all y'all, that stinks.

Thank you so much for the help!
I'm going see if I can find a save for my current girl in Haven before talking to him to see if she got those and then make sure to talk to him after judgment later and pay attention. But I know that after Selene judged him she could only ask what she should call him and the wardens. Nothing else.
In Haven he tells me he was a "nobody...a soldier who followed orders." Or something and that he was from Markham. Nothing else on background there either.
I'll bbiab to check in. ![]()

I didn't get any of that after the judgement either!
And I talked to him with all his options about his past, etc., beforehand (like in the 2nd picture).
After the judgement, I could ask him about the wardens, and I could ask him what to call him now, and that was it :/
(also on PC)

I don't know how widespread it is, but with the small sample size we have so far, not looking good. I mean, honestly, the lines don't give you a ton of info, but they provide more closure about this whole thing...gosh, no wonder I felt like it was better tied together than some of you when we talked about this earlier.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with when you ask him -- whether you ask in Haven or in Skyhold? Maybe there's a flag that doesn't get set?
I asked him some of it in Haven, but I tried to save a lot for later (at the time I didn't know about Skyhold, since it was my first unspoilered playthrough). I asked all of it before his quest when he leaves, but I measured it out through my gameplay.

At least it gives you yet another reason to replay his romance.
