I went back to my other two Blackwall romances and the truth option is not there. So I am going to guess it is a sad sad bug.

So that's two bugs now. This and him still eyeing up Josephine even if you are in a romance with her.

I double checked, and pre- wicked eyes/hearts all dialogue options have been exhausted, there's just the ones left you always have (let's talk about us, thoughts on the inquisition)

 

Directly after judgement, there's nothing about the truth. My screens are:

The warden question leads to a few topics, but all regarding Warden-y stuff.

 

I know I talked to him about where he was from in Skyhold, not Haven. I guess on another run, I'll try asking more in Haven and see if it makes a difference later!

 

Addition: I checked some a couple youtube videos and none of them included it either. Their screens all looked like mine. So I'm guessing this is a widespread bug.

I'm on PC and I got it all. 

 

Did you do all the investigate options with Blackwall when you first recruited him? I suppose it's possible if you missed them, or the game thought you did, there'd be nothing to clear up? 

 

Saw the screenshot earlier - yeah, I never saw any of that, ever. DOH! Whyyyyy, Blackwall, whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!?!?! JUST TALK TO ME A LITTLE BIT MORE! *sob*

 

Okay, I'm better now. I'll just keep trying some more - lol. Could've sworn I tried to ask the man every possible question...I tend to do that with everyone, not just my LI.

@veeia: Do you remember when you asked him about himself? Was it all in Haven? I know the one screenie you had was in Haven, but was wondering if you exhausted that line of questioning then, or if you did part then/part in Skyhold. (trying to figure how what might've been different) Also - was it tied into the romance? And, have you gotten it again on other characters?

 

I looked through more youtube videos, and still haven't found one that included it. Just gives me more reason to keep playing!

Okay, I just tried talking to him post-judgment (like right after the PDA in the throne room), and there was absolutely nothing beyond asking Blackwall what he wanted to call himself and asking him about the Wardens. I don't suppose this has anything to do with the order you do the main quests, does it? I do Wicked Eyes before going to Adamant.

The only game I've triggered Revelations on got the dialogue options and here are all the details I can think of?

 

-PC

-romanced
-asked him about his past at Haven

-wicked hearts, wicked eyes last
-triggered Revelations immediately after WHWE, like i had to go through the eluvian with morrigan before i could find him on the war table
-immediately went to find him
-immediately judged him 

-immediately talked to him and got that dialogue
-approval maxed out

Oh this is frustrating enough to come out of lurker mode to complain about. I've finished this game three times and I never got any option to talk to him about his past. Two times he went to the Wardens, once he was given his freedom. Blergh. 

 

Hopefully this will be fixed in the next patch. Any chance any of you lovely people who don't have the bug could record the conversation and put it on youtube or something? I would really love to hear it in its entirety.

I did all of those things *except* ask him about his past in Haven. I asked him that in Skyhold. I remember it happened in the barn

 

I have a quizzie still in Haven, so I'll ask him about it now and see if it changes at the end. Though there's a lot of gameplay between then and now! lol.

Uh, I think I asked him about his past in Haven...said he didn't want to talk about it? Is that the thing you mean? Oh well, I'll try again on a future run. I still have to finish my second one (and as much as I adore Blackwall, I'm not going all the way back to Haven on my Nightmare run - lol - I am getting that achievement if it kills me first).

I never exiled the Wardens myself and lol I'm sure many here didn't either cos Blackwall. I wonder what he says though if you exile them with him in party, gotta youtube this, can't say I'll ever do it in game.

 

I did exile the wardens while romancing Blackwall. Here are the screenshots below. Know how Alistair flips out on the warden in camp during DAO if Isolde was killed? "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" I was truly floored that moment never came with Blackwall. I braced myself for it. Thought maybe he'd dump me. I didn't know! When I had the follow up conversation with him, I got a cutscene of him chopping wood and reflecting on Adamant. He talked a bit about Clariel and raged about how Corphyeus twisted the Grey Warden sacrifices into his own. A warden is a promise, etc. He didn't really address the banishment so I suspect that cutscene plays out the same no matter what you decide. Make sense? If you wanted to banish the wardens, you should be able to do so without any nail biting. =D

Here's a pic of the dialogue tree. It's under Investigate --> I want the truth about you, which showed up immediately after his judgment for me. 

 

 

Whoah. I never got that. I did get the dialogue tree back in Haven, the one you linked earlier, but not this follow-up conversation. No wonder it felt so lacking after Revelations. I mean, we just went straight to talking about scrabbled eggs or something. It seemed odd. Huh. Well, I'm glad there's more because once we can get this up the bug ladder, this can get fixed and we'll get more content now!

Lmao, I feel ya Atreiya, if I wouldn't replay one fight to save cutiepie Ser Barris (I HAD NO IDEA HE COULD DIE???) on Nightmare, I def wouldn't replay that much game for a few dialogue options, hehe.

Gilsa I saw the shot in the dwarf thread, so I know the context for it and the full pic is super badass and fitting for your badass dwarf, but when I see your avatar on mobile I keep thinking she's blowing out a birthday cake or something. (which only makes it more awesome tbh)

He's definitely my favorite now, especially after hearing him sing altho Garrus, dreamy sigh. Also Fenris for me, tbh. I mean all the VAs are great, but those are the panty droppers, haha.

But yeah, Alastair Parker...He could read the phonebook and I'd be blushing like a madwoman. And his range and ability to just nail the angst and the longing and the more silly side of BW, perfect.

Also delurking (hi everyone!) to chime in on the post-Revelations dialogue. Tested with my saves and I can't get it to trigger with a Quizzy who romanced Blackwall, but can with a Quizzy who didn't. I know I exhausted all dialogue options with Blackwall on the romance PT, but can't recall if I did or didn't with the non-romance PT.

Weird! I wonder if it is related to quest order. Do you remember which order you did for Abyss/Wicked Eyes on those two games?

I went through all the dialogue choices at VR and in judgment with BW (well not the U R MY SLAVE or WE ARE OVER ones), and it triggered with all of them, so I don't think its related to anything there.

@veeia: Thanks for the video! Well, after the Nightmare run I can take it easy and try this again (honestly, I don't think I mind playing multiple times if I get him to say that one line just once...guess I'll do Adamant first next time and hope for the best, hehe). I'm actually close to the end of the game, but since I'm a completionist, I can't help but to do everything again...even though I did everything on my initial run (well, not the mosaic tiles - couldn't find all of them, pfft).

HA! I actually had that same thought the first time I heard that. Sat up a little straighter in my desk chair and thought, "Garrus? bb what are you doing in Thedas?"

 

And I don't think quest order has anything to do with this bug. I play on the PC and did exactly what Veeia did, I don't have the conversation option. *pouts*

I'm too impatient my first run was essentially GIVE ME MORE BLACKWALL SCENES RACE TO THE NEXT ONE....it was like 80 hours total, lmao, and probably 20 of those hours were easily spent crafting outfits for Blackwall to shame him. And then every game after that has had an area I've focused on (...usually the LI at the time, BUT SOMETIMES OTHER THINGS) so they've also been fast. 

 

But I fully intend to replay my first character on a completionist run as soon as my graphics card gets fixed and probably after DLC gets announced. I am actually doing more of a completionist run with my Nightmare character, mostly becasue it turns out you CAN'T race to every big plot mission immediately and be 4 levels under the recommended level and beat it with your eyes closed (i love casual lmfao)

Abyss->Wicked Eyes on the romance PT and Wicked Eyes->Abyss on the non-romance PT. The funny thing is I recall cringing at the delivery of "the TRUTH this time" on my first PT (given Quizzy was romancing BW), but when I loaded the save today the dialogue option wasn't there.
