The Gaspard/Celene stuff is odd. I took two back-to-back "Blackwall greatly disapproves" at the Winter Ball for letting Celene die and for having Gaspard rule alone. (Non-romance game.)

My bad, I should have quoted veeia. I was responding to her link for Blackwall approval/disapproavls. It says he approves if you support Gaspard and disapproves if Briala is supported. I told my advisors that I wanted to support Gaspard, but didn't see any approval changes. Maybe it's tied in to the one-on-one chats with each of them. I didn't tell any of them anything because I thought you had to be coy and not reveal anything the whole time.

I supported Gaspard two times, each time I got "greatly disapproves" for both Celene's death and choosing Gaspard over Briala. However, when I got Celene killed and supported Briala, Blakcwall approved. Each time I told my advisors that I still haven't made up my mind. Also, if you ask Blackwall right there in Halamshiral what he thinks of the current political situoation, he makes it pretty clear that he does not support Gaspard. So that link probably has a mistake when it comes to Celene/Gaspard stuff.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he greatly disapproves twice if Gaspard becomes emperor. When I let Briala rule, I think he at least disapproved less.

He definitely hates Gaspard for his past and I was SO relieved because I was terrified that the chevalier who helped him would end up being Gaspard (because if you read TME, that would be in character for him) and that id end up seriously pissing him off when I supported Celene/Briala, lmao, because Gaspard is a cool dude but uh, not my first choice for the throne...especially with that character.

I filled out your doc thing, Sabreenei. Good idea! Hopefully we can find the issue this way. *fingers crossed* Did Sheryl Chee ever reply to you, veeia?
I've only ever done Blackwall and Cullens repeating kisses and they are both good. But, of course, I prefer Blackwalls.
I'm going to log on my tumblr today to post a couple Blackwall pictures...wish me luck! ![]()

Okay, thanks for trying anyways. Maybe she will eventually poke her head in here and see us talking about it. We can dream!
In my current pt that is romancing Blackwall I did exhaust all convo with him before leaving Haven. Talked to Hawke before talking to him on the battlements. Did his Explanations quest. And had the scene in my room. That is how far I am atm. So I'm going to try and keep track of the order I'm doing stuff in this time. I've also finished the Darkspawn quest on the Storm Coast. I don't recall if we were tracking that one too or not.
Back laters hopefully!

I filled out the form, thank you Sabreenei! It did not show up on my PC game or my husband's PS4 game... I laughed when he said he was romancing BW. He also forgave him (it was hard not to tell him the secret!).
I love the repeatable kiss. They are just so sweet, touching each others faces. The Cullen one felt kind of rushed to me, I don't know... the Blackwall one is so much better.

Ah, finally heard the end of Blackwall's desert survival story after I entered my umpteenth tomb in the Hissing Wastes.
The Inquisitor stats saying "you never finished telling me that story..." (more or less). Anyway, he says that Wilfred found some berries growing on top of the rock they were on and that they ate them...then ended up screaming later. The Inquisitor asks if it was poison, and he says no...not exactly. Then he says that he ended up hallucinating a ring/circle of nugs singing sea chanties for two days straight.

Also, last nights dream - someone was trying to get a Guinness world record for most number of beards trimmed. All these bearded guys waiting patiently to have it trimmed. They were lined up out the door!

@veeia: Hahaha - this is why I take him everywhere; it's all about the nugs and the nug-related hallucinations! But seriously, he has a surprising number of funny anecdotes/comments. Certainly more than I was expecting at any rate.

I love all his scenic comments so much. I was just saying in the dwarf thread that Blackwall is hilarious to take anywhere because even when he has nothing relevant to add he's all like WOA DAT BIG ROCK, or MAKER'S BALLS, WOW, or SURE IS SHINY UP IN HERE, or DAMN THIS MAKES ME WANNA FISH, or whatever, like some clueless but adorable tourist with a fannypack.

Well if you choose Leli's option or the underworld perks option, no one connects it to the Inquisition! With Leli's, people think he's dead, and with the underworld one, your connections break him out for you, so you don't get your hands dirty.
All right, that takes care of that problem. However, Blackwall thinks less of me... which actually comes across as a little overzealous considering what he kept from me. A very awkward situation.

I was thinking I got one more conversation after that ... something about Wilfred surviving everything, but when they were almost out of the desert, he stole the men's water, and they had to kill him? I wish I'd taken a screenshot during all those dialogues!
I love the circle of nugs and singing sea chanties, made me laugh so much. Also, I just brought Blackwall & Dorian to the Storm Coast, and it was so funny to hear their reactions one right after the other. Blackwall's like, yay, ocean and ships and boats and the hearty smell of the sea air! Bracing!! and Dorian's all, uuuughggghhhh, seasick, get me away from this forsaken place, why did you ever bring me here?!

I've been taking Dorian and Blackwall around a lot lately, for my Dorian romance character, and the difference in their personalities is cracking me up. Dorian will be all erudite and give the important history of something, or how it reminds him of some ancient place in Tevinter, and Blackwall will be, wow, nice view, would you look at that rock, whew. Then last night, right after this, Dorian asks Blackwall:
Dorian: Any thoughts on this "Herald of Andraste" business, Blackwall?
Blackwall (suspicious): Why?
Dorian: Just need to know you're capable of higher thought. For my own comfort.
Blackwall: Then you'd be better served giving me a word puzzle.
Dorian (intrigued): You'd do a word puzzle if I gave it to you?
Blackwall (hearty laugh): Not a chance.
It's that laugh of his that really gets me!

All of this discussion of Blackwall banters is giving me life. And, reaffirming that the banter bug is literally the worst thing, because goddamn, so much of Beardy's (grim, comic, occasionally hallucinatory) inner life is revealed through banter.

I haven't been able to discern any pattern yet, except that it has to be hard to get! So far, only one person out of fourteen has successfully gotten the dialogue!

@leldra, I felt like Blackwall doesn't really think less of you, he's just having a Moment where he's being melodramatic and making it all about him, and now he's made you into a criminal, oh no, he's so terrible, the woooorst, etc. I mean it does come across as hypocritical, but I don't think he's really thinking there, he's just wallowing in self-loathing.
edit: okay, I ran over to the computer and did it for my first character, at least. Will take the time to do more later.

Well, I just did Revelations again on my second playthrough and still no option to ask about his past
I did some things differently, picked "let's hang out with friends" instead of sex scene (for some reason I had high hopes for this option, lol), but I get the feeling it has more to do with approval after all.
Edit: I really should study rn, but tomorrow I'll try to get his approval as high as possible before doing Revelations, see if it changes anything. Science!
