It makes his face look so small and boyish, esp compared to his body
Thanks for the science, Gorgo, lmao.
He kind of looks like Richard Armitage without a beard.
*and suddenly Bugsie really really really really likes this mod*
I'm not keen on a totally beardless Blackwall, it seems wrong to me, but trim beard is AOK (although could have trimmed up the cheek patches tbh to make for the complete look)
No stache Dorian though?

Maskless Gaspard? Why hallo there...
kudos to the modder for doing the job though.
Today I tried to get the changed outfit for the Winter Palace (Blue black and white) - but the game kept on CTD. Also doing some screenies with the DA:I cinematic tools, the cut scenes were so blurry. I'm not sure what the hell I was doing wrong - any of you guys have hints for a modding and flycam noob?
7/10 Would still climb, but I miss the dual pronged beard. I like handlebars, okay? Okay.
PS- Gracias, Gorgo! I was totally wondering what he would look like in-game with the alt beard, but couldn't have checked it myself as I'm presently playing on Xbox One.
I redid the Well of Sorrows, just so I could hear the concern in his voice!
Oooh, nice! I actually got the "You alright, luv" line twice tonight while clearing out the Red Templar lair on the Storm Coast. I discreetly swooned.

ahhh that makes sense. It's post explanations and yes the barn scene. The only thing I changed initially is the speed of the camera movement to about 15. If you know roughly what I need to alter it that would be useful (but no hurry really I can do this anytime! Go to bed and sleep Veeia!!!)is it the post explanations scene? That one is tricky because of the way the camera is set up. I can't be more specific right now because I need to look at it again and I'm in bed, lol. IIRC the scene naturally is focused on a small area, so you have to play around with that to get the focus you want.
If it's the barn kiss, you probably changed the FOV or something on accident? Check the controls again.
Re: the outfit mod. The last time I checked, the modder hadn't updated it to work with the newest DA Tools update, but someone in the comments section on Nexus uploaded a new version, so look there.
Now I'm imagining my Cadash strumming a ukelele and singing that pointedly at a newly shaved Blackwall, who thought he was doing her a favor, but he really wasn't.
(She's a hipster dwarf so it has to be a uke....or maybe a banjo to make it more country?)
Assuming alias already got theirs, but I did get my ao3 invite code email, so if anyone wants it, feel free to poke me.
Bugsie - re: blur. The game has a blur that's always on to some degree. In cutscenes, it seems it's set up to be fairly optimal, but if you bust out of the confines of that things get blurry.
What mod are you using? I don't use a mod but rather use I use the Cinematic Tools from here: http://www.bfcinematictools.com/dai/
It has a setting to turn that blur off, which is what I usually do. It also let's you do more stuff like put a little more light on characters so you can take shots in darker places and still see your character well.
Gah where is a Blackwall gray in the beard mod, really. ![]()
I clearly have some reading material for today (yay you guys!!!).
And the tarot cards, I haven't seen the third one not blacked out before, it fits very well when they're all out there in order like that.
OK!!! Figured it out pretty easily. Here's some shots. I really wanted to capture my Cadash's sh*t eating grin when she was like I KNEW YOU'D COME, lmfao.

And here's a quick shot of the two of them. (Gonna go back and get better ones now that I have a setting I like)

So what you have to do is increase the Depth of Field distance, because as I suspected, the scene has a very narrow area of focus. I also increased the Global FOV, which I think is what took care of the fishbowl effect for me.
Took a picture of my settings for ya:

So play around with those, and hopefully you can get the screenies of your dreams! Once you get a hold of that, I recommend playing with the other effects because, it's fun. ![]()
A few points to keep in mind:
That cutscene switches from medium close ups of Blackwall and Quizzie a lot, and if you have the camera facing the character who is not in the shot at the time, there won't be a light on them. Haven't played with character lighting enough to know what you can do with that.
It also seems that in order to get around the animation issues, at least with Cadash (and probably Adaar, I am interested in seeing how this looks with Trev or Lav), they removed Blackwall from the scene a few times. So there will be cases where your character is talking and he disappears for a minute.
Also, never zoom in all the way on your characters face holy crap. (spoilered for essentially body horror, lmao)
@veeia: LOL! Oh my goodness, that last picture...yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.
@keala: Hee - I did find the gray in his beard in the concept art kind of hot, so I agree!
One day, when it's discovered how to finally pause cutscenes, the value of the cinematic tool is going to skyrocket.
That makes sense. In Mass Effect, when you paused cutscenes with the flycam, the face and body would stop moving, but the eyeballs would keep going. The audio kept going so the mouth would revert to a different formation when it concluded. Despite all that, it was still worth having the option to pause anyway. Choices! =p
Have you guys seen this yet? Blackwall-No-Beard mod, as well as a stache-free Dorian. I dunno how I feel about a beardless Blackwall (well, as beardless as he can be. He's still got the texture thing going on.) I did catch myself thinking "he's got a purdy mouth", however.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!
My Lavellan likes to playfully fondle Blackwall's beard!!
She also likes to twirl Dorian's moustache!!
...
And now I realize she has a thing with facial hair...
She must be fascinated by it, after all elves don't grow any...
Also... first post here so.. Hi! ![]()
