I love you guys, but I am 10000% done with the BSN. I just spilled my guts all over that Blackwall thread and I'm done. This is now my tiny sanctuary. Like the Bat-Cave, but better.

Aaaaaw Gorgo, can I say there are at least a dozen people here tired of the attention seeking antics hiding under the misnamed 'discussion'. You never have a 'discussion' with a brick wall. Also expectations of you to account for their feelings after spitting in your face, is not easy to take. Ignore works a treat. I wish others would follow so I don't have to deal with it at all.

And Terrence Stamp sexy is AOK (now you know why I feel torn about the beard!!)

Yeah, I'm just going to start making liberal use of the ignore feature. It's just gotten ridiculous. If it was actual discussion with give and take, I could deal. But it isn't.

 

Now, about happier things -- Blackwall's beard texture! Does the actual beard, uh, "piece" share the shame texture as the beard drawn on to his face? Oh no wait, it wouldn't, otherwise his whole face would be beard, right? I'm so bad at this, lol

I'll second Bugsie and advise using the ignore function for some posters. There will always be folks on the internet who habitually derail threads to make them about well, them, and they will never stop being attention vampires. Prioritize your sanity (or your preferred flavor of insanity) and stay here in this cozy thread.

Also is Blackwall a ninja now? Because I'm up to the scene after the badge when he's in the PC's bedroom. But...there's noway she can be surprised he came. She has a staircase leading up to the window. There's absolutely no way he could've gotten in the room without her noticing she'd saw him in her peripheral vision if nothing else. (not to mention I doubt those stairs are quiet, and she'd heard the door open most likely *plus him swearing as he tripped over those rocks right outside the door. That's totally why they're there. Medieval alarm system ftw*)

 

Or did he climb up the window?

Yeah, we actually have discussed if he'd gone all Batman-mode. I pretty much went for the more mundane "he had permission to go in, so he decided to go upstairs and brood on the balcony while waiting for the Inquisitor" thing. It would admittedly be more fun if he had used a grapple gun (but he'd need a cape and a utility belt).

I was confused by that scene to start with because I thought it was a different window and balcony and I kept thinking wtf? But then I realised which window and thought if she was using the little quizzy's room he might have snuck in part way then the rest of the way when she was preoccupied reading her copy of sword and shields or something like that. LOL what's that dirty book in DA? There's a copy on someone's bed in Haven but I can't remember what it's called now...

Correct. Because I like to make myself giggle by making him look horrifying, here is what would happen if you did that.

 

 

It shouldn't be too hard to find the right textures, it's just time consuming and involves looking through a lot of data piece by piece.  There's actually a tool that extracts all the textures for you, but I can't get it to work on my computer, le sigh, so I have to go through bit by bit. Someone in the modding group had a few ideas, I will check them out the next time I have time where I can focus and devote more than 10 minutes to this. (Veeeeerrry rare right now, hence the fullstop on the modding projects from me, lmao) Because, so important.

I am so glad I don't know what thread you're talking about. I'm sorry for your distress. It's amazing how you can go to certain threads (like this one) and they're trusted and amazing and full of intelligent people having respectful discussions, and then two threads down it's just people throwing poop at eachother like they're at the zoo.

I can see it, and if Richard Armitage was selected to play Blackwall in a film, I'd be more than okay with that. But I think he looks like a combo of Christopher Eccleston and Terence Stamp a bit more.

Darn tho! Are you not seeing any change in where the bluriness is? Did you make sure you had clicked both of the "enables" on the tab where you can change depth of field? You have to enable the tool (green button on the side and then enable that specific option (checkbox at the bottom of that menu). If you've done that, then I'm not sure what's happening, hrm. Kissing screenies are so important!!!

Sandal, my friend got the gender switch bug that happens if you start CC up and get a male character option first and don't flip between options and used it to romance Blackwall with a dude, dono if that got fixed in the most recent patch tho, I can look at those notes later to see. (Also I don't know how often it happens, could be frustrating to have to restart over and over to trigger it lmao)

But I love the transwoman idea!! I saw someone who is romancing Solas with a non binary character and I loved reading their unique perspective on it (alas did not save the link)

Yeah I was playing around but I need to play around a bit more, it's only when I'm about 5 m out from the scene for a full body that it does it, I thought I was doing it right but I was pretty tired last night I'll give it another go later today. Ciara looks to be standing in a hole in the ground and contort herself reading for shrinking! It also looks like she's leaning in to him, which is kinda hot.

Still, re asking for multiple kisses is also pleasant.

I heard about that, but I thought that the bug just caused NPC's to regard male characters as female and that it didn't affect companions.

 

Anyways, although I am not trans myself, as a member of the LGBT community (gay guy) the idea of a trans character romancing Blackwall resonates with me more than playing through a cis hetero romance with him.  It may seem odd, but it's just how I feel.

 

Mechanically, since the game requires that my character be female in order to romance him, I will choose a female Inquisitor.  I'm not sure about race yet, most likely human or dwarf, though.

 

And since the game will consider the character a female, it works, since this character will identify as female and will be glad that others address her as such.

 

However, I will RP her as being born male, and doing everything that she can and working with what is available to her to be the person on the outside that she is on the inside, since she obviously doesn't have the option of surgery within the DA setting. This is where I feel the CC is great in that it really provides options such as stubble for dwarf women and an adam's apple slider and makeup for all races and sexes. I applaud BioWare for that. 

 

Maevaris will be my inspiration. 

 

And Blackwall looking her in the eye and calling her "my lady" will make her smile every time.  Gah, it will be great.
