When will he actually check on you? When you totally die or just low hp?

My IQ was at full health, and I think both times were very close to shore. The Storm Coast shoreline there seems to trigger shorter banters.

I never had blackwall check up on me in storm coast for some reason:-( Maybe my quizzy ain't purtty enuff.

Well, teleporting to the first camp in the Storm Coast and running northish towardw to ocularum seems to trigger it eventually (travel from the war table first). Am not sure if that works post-patch, but he might randomly say the "Are you all right, love?" line. Just keep repeating the teleporting/running thing.

Although if he's not saying anything at all anymore, well, I guess it's just not working anymore. Last night, he did say it at random in a totally different area of the Storm Coast.

I am not sure, but does the ability to trigger that line tie into whether or not you have unlocked/completed the Darkspawn quest there? It only started for me once I had that available, so I just...never finished it....you know, in caseies. I also didn't have combat banter for the first 30 hors of game so who knows XD

Yeah, I completed the quest to seal the darkspawn tunnels first. Have to be on the quest or done with it (but who knows with Patch 3). May check later if I get a chance to play, heh.

Heh good luck kaidan! I bought 2 new pcs for this game but i really hated the controls. Now im stealing my son's ps4. Since he also plays the game, it's war all the time in the house!

I broke down and played the Xbox 360 for a bit.  Didn't last long  

 

I think DA:I is almost done dl'ing so maybe I'll stop dl'ing for the night and try playing *bounces excitedly*  Can't wait to see how purdy it looks on my new computer!

Dang, Blackwall's super special shield I made for him and called Daryl (don't ask) is now broken

Blackwall is incredible! Max out his Champion tree and have Charging Bull and War Cry with you and you have an invincible tank! I've got to admit when I found out that he was actually a criminal, I felt the urge to execute him myself. The fact that he had a family murdered and let his men take the fall for it deserves justice. However I've decided to give him to the Wardens in the end. Being a Warden is a short and hard life, but he can do some good for the world. After all Blackwall wants to atone for his misdeeds so I came to a compromise.

Exciting!!! It's a beautiful game. I forgot about that when I was being forced to play at the lowest settings. I mean it was still pretty but....being on medium-high is so much better. Jelly of all y'all on Ultra, but I'm happy with this!

He is such a good tank. Dude just never freaking dies. I mean unless you leave him to die. And then even then I bet he only dies because he wants to, but he could totally activate Walking Fortress or whatever and avoid the executioners blade.

My old computer was playing on high so I am pretty stoked right now.  I'm at 95%....almost there!

 

Edit: About him being a tank:  He literally is   I think the only time he takes dmg is when he has bodyguard up and I have IB or Cole with us.  Silly squishies!

That aside, sorry about your shield. Have you tried remaking it? I heard that post-patch crafted shields were fine.

@smiles: Aaaah, nice - I should try adding Charging Bull in if I get a chance to. Makes sense to give him something that allows him to close distance quickly.

None of my crafting exploits have normal names.  It's a creative challenge to come up with stuff (or stuff that has meaning to me!)

 

I might try and re make it but I guess I'm taking Bull and Cass out more this run so may save it for another time.  I've been in the Hissing Wastes - a place I didn't really explore much first time round and getting some good crafting stuff so hoping I can make some interesting stuff.

I'm on medium-high in my settings too. I replaced my video card with a newer but still used video card (had the Nvidia gtx 470, now I have the gtx 670), so that part handles okay. The problem is that I'd gotten a new motherboard and cpu when I started playing DAO, and they were awesome then... but now they are both severely dated. At least it's still a quad core, but the game pushes it pretty far when playing. At some point I'll get a new mobo & cpu, but I have to do it part and parcel. Makes it so my computer is always "good" but never top of the line, lol! Sometimes I fantasize about buying a brand new computer, but then I think the dreaded thought... but do I need it? The answer is always I want it, but I don't need it. So then I don't get it. booooo.

 

The game still looks freaking awesome. I just can't take video of it too well (not like I did with DAO, anyway!)

I love naming crafting things and hearing other people's names. Still giggling at Daryl. 

 

My favorite thing that I've seen (I didn't make it, it was on tumblr) was an outfit made out of Nugskin and it was just called "Leliana Greatly Disapproves"

Just took Blackwall to kill the Sandy Howler. I love the Hissing Wastes because you actually get convos with him in the field, haha. But this time I got comments that feel like they were supposed to trigger in the first fight, or maybe not, but it kind of made Hella sound a bumbling yokel since they'd already killed 9 of them at that point.

And then after killing it with one Thousand Cuts before it even attacked:

Hella: everyone okay??
Blackwall: I'm fine. That last burst took off some of my hair though.

(Not exact quotes I had subtitles turned off and I have terrible auditory processing, but I'm sure y'all have heard them. It was just funny in that specific situation)

Yeah I love the walking dead (and I didn't even realise I'd named a shield after one of ma faves!)

 

I'd love to be able to craft a poncho!

Now we're on Walking Dead territory, 'Dammit Carl!' would be a good name for an epic hat.
