Ok so this is a little stupid, but I'm doing this.
Blackwall was by himself for some time and I took some screenshots and imagined what he was up to. xD
Here he is roasting a pig:

I always pictured that Blackwall would wear a tank top and jean shorts while grilliing. ![]()
People would like Blackwall more if he was a warden probably, but at his current level of "wardens are GOOD and TRUE!!! Rah rah!!" I wouldn't. I mean it was adorable in Origins Alistair because he's a babby, but even he grew up.
I agree. His obsession with the warden was one of the reasons I didn't liked him at first, and it still kinda irritates me. Oh well
.
I apologize if this has been discussed already I haven't been coming into this thread as much lately but theres something I've been wondering about all the hate or at least all the dislike Blackwall gets to me seems to be about him lying about being a warden (at least it comes off that way to me) so I was wondering would he have been better received if he was an actual warden? I personally find him not being a warden interesting and think it adds a lot to him. Again sorry if I'm bringing up something that has been talked about already.
I have read some posts about people being upset that he was not really a warden. But most seemed to be mad that he lied to their Inquisitor at all. I could be totally wrong but that has been my take on what I've seen. Mostly.
Does anyone know if there is a way for the inquisitor to actually execute Blackwall? Murderknife, dual wielding daggers antyhing?
Seriously, I was hoping for an option to kill that disgusting, dishonorable, lying, murdering, phony Warden sorry excuse- but couldn't find it. Did I miss the option somewhere?
not even sure why anyone would put that kind of character in Dragon Age anyways. <shakes head>
(Sorry to those who can tolerate him.)
Maybe because people seemed to like Sten, Zevran and Leliana okay? (I happen to be one of them) ![]()
And no, if you want him to die you have to leave him in jail...or send him to the wardens, I guess.

Because his story is a morally complex and challenging one - I think it's aimed at people who understand that the world isn't black and white and who are also capable of actually seeing the good in a person like Blackwall, a man who underwent a real transformation into being a decent man. Since you obviously don't believe in redemption/second chances, then all you'll be able to do is to leave him in prison to await execution.
If you feel a real need for a murder-knife fix, then maybe you should load up DA2 and take it out on Anders.
@jen: That's the only time you get a chance at it, I'm afraid. Either you hang out at the tavern, or you do the romance scene (in which case, I guess you'd better be prepared to wake up alone, sans clothing).

@archer: Actually, it is morally complex and challenging because his story is not about stolen valor - it's about a man who made a singular and very large mistake resulting in the unintentional deaths of four children, which is something that he has always regretted. What, exactly, is dissimilar between that and Sten?
See, here's the thing - Rainier's employer certainly seems to have lied to him or omitted certain important facts, so he assumed that there would be no children involved. When he finds out that that's the case, it's essentially too late to stop what has been set in motion. And that's made very clear through banter with Cole and other aspects of his story that come out. Sten - totally unintentionally - kills that very nice family because he panics over his lost sword. In both cases, the deaths/collateral damage were not intentional, and you're left to judge both of them for what happened. You just get a lot more details in Rainier's case.
The fact that you say his story is about stolen valor shows that you're apparently very narrowly focused on the fact that he assumed the real Blackwall's identity and impersonated a Grey Warden, which in the grand scheme of things, is the least bad thing he's done. Since when did he ever seek out glory for himself as Blackwall? Oh right - never. Taking on his name wasn't about stealing honor or valor - it was done out of necessity to survive and partially to honor him.
Assuming that you weren't trolling and that this was all totally legitimate, well, you got your answer about murder knives, didn't you?
I actually like Blackwall's romance the most for straight female Inquisitors.
It had character development, it was angsty, it was nice guy-ish and it was overall, very well done.
As for Blackwall's mistakes, all the potential female Inquisitor love interest have done terrible things before. Cullen was a lyrium addict who advocated for terrible things on mages in Kinloch Hold and for the most part, tolerated bad things happening on mages in The Gallows. Iron Bull was a liar (Hissrad) who murdered and killed for the cause of his way of life as well as fooled around like crazy. Solas was responsible for the Orb and for things that happened in Ancient Elvhenan.
Blackwall, in my opinion, did a bad thing once and then he decided to change for the better after it. He did not stay in the Orlesian army or continue to play a part in the Civil War or get re-educated or do anything of that sort.
Plus, I like people who are introverts. Alas, Solas is only available for female Elven Inquisitors so other female Inquisitors must scale the Wall.
Thanks for the responses, guys. I'll try my best to headcanon my way around the battlements scene with what you guys mentioned. He's obviously quite taken with the Inquisitor from the very beginning (his flirting is pretty direct in Haven, heh). I'll work with that. And so it begins:
Haaa! True outdoorsman!! Just need to mod him fly fishing in various rivers and the picture will be complete!Ok so this is a little stupid, but I'm doing this.

@kalalala omigosh... your elf is very beautiful. All mine just ends up looking like that woman monkey in the Planet of the Apes.
Lol, thank you. I tried to make her look like Morrigan's long lost elven sister XD

The same Warden sorry excuse that saves the Insuisitor's life when they meet for the first time? Just reminding.

Mission accomplished, I think XD
And because everyone's showing off their Blackwall romance quizzies, here's mine:
Wanted her to look like Brit Marling, but then the character creator happened. Oh, well.
Thank you for your response. Yes I did get the answer about being able to execute him. No not trolling. I know it was an odd/risky choice to ask in a fan thread but I didn't see another place to ask and I figured someone here would be kind enough to see I was sincere and not trolling. . I used preset #1 for her. I actually used these sliders as the base for her face and tweaked it.
Lol!
I'm quite happy with how my human Mrs. Blackwall looks. But I can't seem to do elves, mine all look malnourished.
Heh, I'm the opposite. I can't do humans and prefer creating elves in the CC and playing as them. I have one human Quizzy who turned out OK, but I never finished the game with her.
Thank you
