Rosalee pls, you're killing me with that picture.

It's a good one, isn't it?

It's by a concept artist called Patryk Olejniczak, who was allegedly headhunted by Bioware after winning a ME fan art competition.

well the problem is that it's REALLY difficult to animate transitional scenes like taking off clothes. that's how you get ridiculous witcher 2 scenes like SHE MAGICED OFF HER CLOTHES and ok ok i make fun of that but the main reason i'm saying NO they can't do that in dragon age is that dwarves can't use magic, i refuse to accept a special blackwall naked scene you only get with mages

...UNLESS that's like an anchor power. "rip portals to the fade and also rip clothes off of people"...hrm....

I don't even mind if a scene was like... Starts unbuttoning shirt by the window, fades to black, then nude in bed. As long as there's a bit of a transition. I don't need to see the shirt ripped off, but is it really difficult to animate undoing the top buttons or unzipping a side zipper?

I think it would be difficult to animate those things, honestly. Think about the delicacy and precision of fingers in motion. I look forward to the day though. :)

Well dangit... Hrm... raising shirt over head? Like even if they just raised the hem to show a little skin.

I mean, it would be a tease, but at least it isn't just "and bang nude" or "and bang" doing up my boot laces!

i'd only be cool with them animating blackwall's, uh, nudeness? if they gave him a custom body model. i feel like he is actually that bulky under that coat, even if the halamshiral finery says otherwise

I know a lot of people made fun of them, but I actually liked the way it was handled in DAO, even before modding made it just about perfect.

Once mods hit it -- now it's absolutely perfect, since you can choose your body type (lore undies, cute undies, no undies -- so many options of no undies, lol!). And then there's the choice of type of sex scene, depending on the comment you choose. So many options, since the modders could make every scene available for each character, and then create some of their own. You can choose whichever floats your boat.

The chest I'd given Blackwall earlier, was from a save I had with Alistair, with his shirt off. I just photoshopped Blackwall's head onto the picture :D You can't even take people's shirts off in this game! lol. (edit: If you could, I'd steal his jacket and make him chop would without it)

re: removing clothes -- I think it's hard right now, because the clothes are their own item and don't move. So you could animate the action of the model, like they were taking their clothes off, and have the bodies strategically placed so you didn't see it happening. But in order for the clothes to actually open and come off, you'd need completely different clothes for that scene that moved.

I'd have liked it if it looked like quizzie's hands were fumbling with Blackwall's buttons, then they cut to their faces or their boots (like they do) and then when they came back up, the jacket was off. MMmmhmm, I'd have liked that a lot!

Gahh, how long does it take for likes to come back? I thought they were back, but I only had about two, and now it says they're gone again. Need more likes!

I'd be perfectly okay with a scene like this! Fumbling works for me ;)

It's so frustrating, I am forever running out of likes! Why aren't likes infinite anyways?

Yeah, I've been out of Likes mostly...maybe we just need to borrow Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite and have her open rifts with an endless supply of LIkes.

I think that's just a more or less standard gambeson look. His face looks rather thin, too. I don't mind bulky men (at all  ), but Blackwall looks pretty lean in finery and warden/chevalier/free army(?) armor, on his romance card and on his concept art, for that matter, so I'm having a hard time imagining him with a big belly. Some padded armor examples:

Yup he's pretty lean however I refuse to believe that his muscles are the same size as default humale male model and that his belly is flat. They would need a custom model for slightly beefier with tiny beer belly and of course a custom texture for all dat hair

Agreed. I'm pretty sure he doesn't look like Cullen under that padded armour. Maybe more like a ...Gerard Butler kind of body?

Yeah, kind of agree with scuttle about his face being kind of thin; you could almost cut yourself on the man's cheekbones! And since I am okay with being occasionally shallow, I will confess to liking a nice set of abs... *eyes Kougami Shinya and coughs* As for Gerard Butler, I'm not going to lie - I would go more for the 300 version of Gerard Butler rather than a non-300 version of Gerard Butler.

I'd go for every version of Gerard. :P

But I'm thinking like gAmer (2009) Gerard Butler.

I think has to look lean in the non-custom type armor, since those all use the same body models.

As a sword and shield warrior, I'd say he'd need lots of  muscles to wield all that steel. I like to think of him as more real -- so he'd have these big muscles in his arms and chest from all his training & fighting, but not necessarily the sculpted look of actors who spend all day working out to look good on film.

His working out would consist of training with the sword & shield, and real fights. And he's a bit older, so he wouldn't have the 5% body fat look they have. More like a man's man look. Or like, Hugh Jackman / Gerald Butler when they arent in their hard core training.

Of course, I love that look of heavily muscled, but with a warm layer of fur at the belly. Tells you he isn't obsessing over keeping a perfectly flat belly, and will eat food and not care so much about diet and regime.

So really, it's all personal head canon, and Blackwall can be every way to every one! :P
