Okay, serious question now - how do I get my quizzy to touch his face in the judgement scene? Do I have to send him to the Wardens? I need to know for research purposes.

In my first run I sent him to the wardens and my quizzie caressed his cheeck, so probably that's the key

I've gotten it when I set him free (added that to my post). I'm trying to see if there's a time it doesn't happen, if that was the question. I've gotten it on the "let's start over"  with all three options: "we'll learn", "go with your gut", "try honesty".

@sabreenei: I actually was here on the bsn as elfadelbosco then I deleted my account because **** happened in a period in which real life sucked all my patience, I had none left for anyone and anything else. When I decided to come back I chose this other nickname.  

I'm sorry if I didn't tell anyone who I was, I didn't think it was that important, I was a nobody before and I'm glad to be still a nobody, or better just another dirty old lady who just wants to share her passion for her fav character with other dirty old ladies ;D  

When I decided to quit the bsn people who came here with issues like 'rape by deceit' and 'murderer of children' kept quoting me and I didn't want to draw attention -.- Maybe it was just a coincidence but.., in any case...

Hey thread, I'd like some advice regarding Thom Rainier's judgment.

 

I'm torn between freeing him or giving him to the Grey Wardens.

I'm leaning on giving him to the Grey Wardens for a number of reasons:

• I feel like I'm respecting the wishes of the real Blackwall by completing Rainier's initiation into the Wardens
• I like Rainier's ideas on what Wardens should be like and want to inject those sorts of ideas into the current Wardens
• The people of Orlais get their justice, either from Rainier dying from the Joining or dying in battle if he lives
• Adds legitimacy to the Inquisition's use of the Grey Warden Treaties, in addition to their alliance with the Orlesian Wardens

But other posters bring up the idea that Rainier's idealistic views of the Wardens is a sort of crutch and now I'm not so sure about what to do. Any opinions?

Mine gets confusing because I follow/like things on my main, "thepirateandtheswan" which has a bunch of random stuff from OUaT to LOTR to animals to landscapes to just weird shite. BUT, my dragon age/video game blog is "when-daydreams-collide" and that's where I respond and repost and post things.

I've definitely posted that I'm for not sending him to the Wardens for that reason, but I do think that the reality of how Wardens live and act could very well destroy that idealism anyway. Maybe not, who knows, but I think its a good option as well. You can't go wrong either way, and since you're leaning Wardens, I'd go with it.

I sent him to the wardens in my first run. My reasons were that it would have been a just punishment to the eyes of those who wanted him dead, a way to safeguard the Inquisition's reputation, plus a legal way to free him from his legal issues (I hope I'm using the correct words). 

 

About the romance, if he's already 45, when the Taint will bring him to his Calling he'll be about 75 and I have faith in Avernus's researches

@sgt: Well, I'm in the no-Wardens camp. I feel that Blackwall has been so wrapped up in this idealized vision of what the Wardens are like and has tied his identity/values to it for so long that he really needs to separate himself from all of that and stand on his own.

 

That's just my preference - also because he's my LI, well, I don't like gambling on him surviving the Joining, so there's that too. That being said, if you want to hand him to the Wardens, it's certainly a reasonable way for him to atone, and I think you're right - he probably would be a good leader for them in time.

Talking about the fact that he kisses you in front of everybody, well, I like it and I find it very IC: Rainier/Blackwall is a man who doesn't give a **** about what people may think or not about him, and he's fed up with all the mannerism reigning in Orlais where people are multilayered.

Furthermore he has lived alone in the woods for years and now he's outright to the point he even forgets about basic rules of conduct ^^
