LMFAO! I really hope this becomes a new meme. (It's a good thing I don't have Photoshop or I'd probably be up all night editing Dennet into every Blackwall scene...)

Now I am thinking about the final scene on the balcony and Dennet is on the ramparts looking up trying desperately to see something, but also trying to 'look casual'

He has to be writing a book about Blackwall's mating habits, I swear.

Dennet's hobby is writing romantic novels and he uses Blackwall/Quizzy as an inspiration and no one is going to convince me otherwise. Or he's part of Varric's spy network whose sole task is to do research for Varric's next romance serial.

Trying to decide on another Lavellan (fem this time) or a Trev for my next pt, for a pro Templar and romance either with Solas or Cullen. Gonna be hard to keep away from Ser Beardy Git.
At what point do I need to stop flirting with him in order not to jeapordise the other romances?

Because I don't think I'll ever actually get to see it in-game, I looked for vids of Blackwall dumping the Inquisitor, and hit the jackpot.
I love hearing Alix Wilton Regan's b!tchy kiss off voice.
I was not prepared for that.
The "I can change" lines killed me.

Hahaha, you guys are hilarious XD. Dennet the Creeper really does need to be come a meme-I agree!
Gee they're great scenes. But, I doubt I'll get to a pt where that happens anytime soon.

@catwall: Thanks for finding that! I'll probably never hear them in my game, since it's not like you can take a dialogue option -- you actually have to get romance and then take his approval down.
It's so interesting to hear his response and the choices. I have tried out the dialogue when you end things with him yourself, just to see. Always went back to a previous save though!
@Bugsie - I think you can start up a romance with Cullen farther into the game, but you will miss any of his romance scenes up to that point. The heart option to romance Cullen never went away for me, though every time I picked it he told me I was seeing someone else, so no go. Once (as described above) I then went and broke up with Blackwall (this was after the battlements flirt, but before the bedroom kiss), and the romance with Cullen started.
I'm doing a Sera romance right now, and the only way I've been able to not stray was to not do the flirt on the battlement. Otherwise, I can't resist the beard!
@kala: No one expects the bearded inquisition!
The beard doesn't care if you fell into it accidentally, the beard will love you without reservation no matter what! (well, unless he breaks up with you as shown above, I guess. So... um... never mind)
@rinji: That's your art??!! *fawn* *drool* I saw that on tumblr earlier today and hit repost so quick i hurt myself. I love it.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. I'm so bad at being completely ruthless in games. In DA:I, Erimond is the only person I actually hated enough that I would either execute him or throw him in prison. I don't think I could manage to do whatever it is that that Inquisitor did to get the breakup lines with Blackwall - eep.

Wow, I never knew this scene existed. Some of those lines...
"Are they mistakes? Or the first few steps down a treacherous path? You know I've walked it. You know where it leads." ![]()
No doubt some people will see that scene and label him a self-righteous hypocrite...which, yeah, he kind of is. But his dialogue here is born out of concern; he knows all too well the kind of person the Inquisitor could become if she continues down a path of corruption, and wants to stop her from losing herself the same way he did.

I think I've seen others say that if you skip the flirt on the ramparts you won't get locked into his romance. Which is where I messed up with my Lavellan and screwed up my Solas play through.
Love the picture, renji!
Happy almost 500 pages! So excited!

I never had a problem with him being a "self-righteous hypocrite." Of course, when he called me a criminal in the judgement scene, my first reaction was something like "u fookin wot m8" and maybe he was in no position to do that, but later I was cool with it. Like he said he's been down the dark path before and he knows better than most what it's like and how little it takes to sink this low. The way my quizzy sees it, if it will help her to be wiser about how she handles the role of Inquisitor, he can lecture her all day, if he wants.
Omg, I tried to trim my quizzy's bio for the "meet my char" thing, but I ended up expanding it *headdesk* I'm so sorry ![]()

Sorry guys, I won't be around for page 500, and I haven't gotten around to writing a bio for my first Wall Climber, Carys Trevelyan, but here she is:
With Blackwall: (And a possible Dennet cameo?? Bottom-right)
And a bonus shot from their latest date night: (I swear she isn't taller than him, she's just standing on a rock or something...or possibly Dennet's corpse)
Looking forward to seeing everyone's Quizzies when I check back in!

"Once I couldn't keep myself away from you. That's changed."
Hearing that, I was reminded of these lyrics:
Once I ran to you...
Now I'll run from you, etc. etc.
WHOA, Tainted Love!
...and at first I laughed, but then I stopped and felt sincerely awful.
Yet, I love that he is so principled that he will not allow himself to be dragged back into his old ways, no matter how mighty and persuasive the legendary Herald is presumed to be.
The "If those who love you best cannot question you, then who can?" line also killed me with its candor.

/Me, being fussy with word connotations, because of no reason at all:
I don't consider Blackwall a hypocrite. To me, a hypocrite is someone that is doing something but criticizes someone else for doing something similar. Or someone who pretends to have certain virtues and condemns others that don't have them, but the whole time it's just a big fake. Blackwall may have lied and have a trashcan past, but he's not feigning any of his virtues in the present.
If an alcoholic refuses to be around someone who is heading down the path of addiction, I would never say they were being a hypocrite. People who overcame flaws or addictions have a unique position to understand the perils of that dangerous behavior.
I think he can be a tad judgmental, but not hypocritical. Okay, maybe a lot judgmental. But I forgive him.
/fussiness off
Sorry about that, sometimes I can't help myself.
Also:
@catwall: Yessss, tainted love. And ohhh no, the feels

Actually this is much better than the variation if you didn't romance him. Less concern there and more self righteousness. This one actually isn't that bad.
