I found this whilst randomly looking for Blackwall piccys (as you do haha!):

I really like this look on him - where the padded jacket seems to turn into more of a chainmail one, and the all-silverite materials look extra awesome! I tried to match it in-game and could get the pauldrons, greaves, gauntlets etc a nice shiny silver but there seemed to be no way to get the silvery chainmail look on the jacket.

 

The best I could do was this - but the mail jacket came out as a dark grey (and weirdly brown in some lighting). And this schematic had no 'butt-skirt', as I like to call it , but the schematic with said butt-skirt had a cloth padded jacket look and not a chainmail one. Maybe the schematic to match the look in the above shot is a super-rare one *shrug*, if it's available at all that is.

Maybe a fade-touched silverite could give a silvery look to the jacket? The fade-touched thingies sometimes seem to color the parts that ordinary materials don't. I hope I'm coherent, it's still early for me

I can't recall exactly, but I do remember it was a Tier 3 Battlemaster schematic (Battlemaster Mail maybe??) bought from the dog vendor down that canyon in the Hissing Wastes. I had the 'Short List' perk from Josie, but I'm not sure if that affected what schematics appeared. This schematic produced those 'spiky' bits on the gauntlets you can see, rather than the smoother metal of the armour in the top group shot. Although I think there is a Battlemaster 'Coat' schematic that is closer to the look he has in that shot, complete with butt-skirt, but the jacket underneath is the padded cloth type, not chainmail.

 

Prior to his end-game look, I had him in this: the heavy armour that drops from one of the EDL dragons - it's a very definite browny colour, rather than silver, and has the padded jacket look with butt-skirt.

I checked out the judgement scene on both my solo Queen Anora and solo King Alistair world states. In the audience, there are three placeholders wearing Anora's dress and have the hair bun, but the skin color and hair color are randomized each time. Easy mistake to make, especially if the one right behind Rainer happens to have blonde hair at the right time.

Why the hell would the queen be wearing a dress that any NPC could pick up? I'm displeased. 

 

But glad that it's less awkward of a scene if she's just some random noble.

Awww, Blackwall called my Inquisitor "Lady Lavellan" at the Winter Palace.  He actually used her name.  I'm not sure if any other LI's ever use the Quizzy's name in romantic scenes (Cullen and Solas don't).  Regardless, hearing "Lady Lavellan" definitely made my Quizzy swoon- she has a weakness for the human stories about knights and ladies.  Hehe :3

Backstory:

 

Evelyn came into her magic somewhat late at age 11 when she woke one morning, mid-summer, with her entire room frozen.  Her parents asked her to conceal, not feel - just kidding.  No, her father was away and her mother overreacted, basically locking Evelyn in her room while they waited for her uncle, a Templar, to retrieve her.  Understandably this damaged her relationship with her mother immensely.

 

Evelyn did well in the Circle, being very intelligent and someone who enjoyed learning.  However she hated the confinement and the political environment.  Despite this she ended up as one of the First Enchanters students, probably a combination of  her achievement as a student, great magical power, and noble heritage.

 

 

How they came to the Inquisition:

 

Evelyn was chosen to attend the conclave along with her mentor, the First Enchanter, and several of her friends.  She lost all of them in the explosion, something that she has not even had time to process and mourn.

 

 

How do they feel about the Inquisition and/or leading the Inquisition & Religious Views:

 

She feels very proud of the Inquisition.  At first she was just in shock but as time progressed she fully invested herself in it.  By the time she was proclaimed Inquisitor she felt comfortable in her power, especially with so many close advisors.

 

 

As for religion, she has mixed feelings.   Her family was quite religious, she had a bit of a crisis of faith when she was taken to the Circle.  Once there she chose to avoid her feelings about religion .

 

 

Favorite Zone:  Emerald Graves, Hinterlands

 

 

Companion they get along with most: She gets on with everyone but Varric in particular has been a good friend to her.  He has been a helpful advisor, laying things out straight and helping her adjust to life outside the Tower.

 

 

Companion they get along with least: Vivienne.  She embodied everything Evelyn hated about the Tower culture.

 

Love Interest: Blackwall J

 

Reason for choosing that love interest:  She was immediately intrigued by him, he was different from any other men she had known and he just felt so bodily safe to her.  Once they started flirting she was done for.   His rebuffs did not discourage her, she was used to unusual relationships and concerns in the Tower so she did not even really fret over it.   

 

How did they handle Revelations: She was quite terrified when she discovered what happened – terrified to lose him, definitely upset over his lies but that took a back seat until they were able to get him back safely.

 

Once he was back she forgave him, but laid out her concerns and expectations.  She knew he was a good man and it was time to atone as himself, not trying to be someone else.

 

Evelyn was a forgiving person –she always regretted her years spent hating her mother.  They had eventually reconciled and her mother apologized profusely.  Her mother had told her the story of how she had lost a sibling when her brother had accidentally killed her when his magic was discovered.

 

 

What did they do after things settled down:

They plan to visit her family in the Free Marches, see the Grand Tourney with Varric and Sera.

 

I imagine she had him move into her quarters soon after Revelations, once Corypheus was defeated she insisted they get married at her parent’s estate.  Blackwall would have never proposed, still feeling “unworthy.”  She did not care, spending most of her life in the Circle, her ideas about romance were quite different from most of society.  Evelyn wanted to give him a solid standing for leverage with nobles, but she also never imagined she would be allowed to marry – it seemed like a blissful dream.

Details like those lines are one the best things about Blackwall's romance. They make him feel responsive in a way that the other LIs didn't, at least for me.

I also imagine my Warden being early-mid 20s.  Cousland is my head cannon with Alistair and they stay in the wardens kicking @ss and taking names. 

 

Re: Dennet I'm replaying DA:O and I love seeing the comments when you make out with Alistair in front of them (plus I just love making out with Alistair).  We just got Oghren and he said, "Don't mind me I like to watch", to which Alistair says something like, "That is just a little creepy."  I think Sheryl wrote Oghren as well which is funny.  I sometimes try and see correlations between Leliana and Blackwall (her two characters this time) and basically they both are a lot of drama at times.

Agreed on both points! I only wish that his "You all right, love?" line was available in all of the different maps, instead of just the Storm Coast.

I've been wanting to find out what happens if you DON'T ask a romanced Blackwall for a dance way in the beginning. Does he still offer? Does he have a different animation while waiting for the Inquisitor to decide what to do next? I could just load up a save and do it myself, but Winter Palace is tedious as it is and requires proper motivation. =p
