I have to say I agree sadly. They made her too hostile for no reason. If she was more aloof then overly critical and hostile I'd bring her around much more. Being so unnecessarily hostile makes you look weak not strong.

Interesting thing about Vivienne though, she's vicious to Blackwall for no good reason (even before the reveal), but, according to some people, some of her her comments about him in conversations with quizzy are genuinely sweet??? I haven't heard them myself because her remarks on the companions are random and I was never lucky enough to hear what she has to say about Blackwall. Apparently, if you pardon him during judgement and resume the romance, she says something like "Not many would have taken him back, I hope you will continue to trust him" and I'm pretty sure she says something positive about him if you ask him about her thoughts about the companions after Revelations, at least if he's in a romance with quizzy. There's a banter where Blackwall offers her condolences after her personal quest and she genuinely thanks him in a non-sarcastic way (I heard that one at least!). Sometimes it almost feels like Vivienne deliberately acts extra b*tchy with some companions to hide that she's actually a decent person. Again, I can't confirm any of it except for the banter after Vivienne's quest, but that's what I heard some other players say.

In my game (just checked the screenies) she told me:

 

Vivianne: Blackwall surprised me. I never would have thought him capable of carrying off such deception.

Vivianne: He's a lucky man. Few women would've have forgiven such a lie, Let's hope he lives up to your faith in him.

 

It wasn't really said too bitchily, almost... nicely.

I got a "You seem quite fond of our Warden, Blackwall. I think it's charming" from her in Skyhold (when asking what she thought of the companions). This happened after Adamant (before WEWH).

 

What I did NOT understand from her was, "So Varric was spying on us all this time? I'm impressed. I never would have taken him for a player of the Game. I'll have to watch him more closely from now on." I feel like I'm missing something. I did notice that he disappeared during WEWH, but I figured he was "hiding" from the dwarven merchant guild? I don't know. Was that what it was about?

 

Edit: I've never had her give me a gift. I've seen videos of this happening. I wonder if her banter about Blackwall can improve. For example, if you click on the heart icon back in Haven, she'll scoff at the idea of you two hooking up. If you raise your approval with her (like do the wyvern heart quest), she's more cordial and thinks you're precious, but still turns you down.

edit: I thought I got that from her sometime after the blowout with Varric & Cassandra, maybe even before Wicked Hearts. But I didn't screenshot it, so I can't be sure :/

 

My above with Vivianne in regards to Blackwall came after all the revelations. Before that, i got the same one as you Gilsa.

 

 

2nd edit: I got a funny bug with my male Trev & Blackwall this game. I'd taken one flirt with Cassandra early, back in Haven. But I'm definitely in a romance with Dorian. Only when I go talk to Blackwall, he gives me the whole speech about 'you and the lady seeker' and gives me advice on how to woo her. Totally made me crack up.

Blackwall strikes me as not a subtle man, hence why I can see him not seeing subtle clues like 'I'm doing Dorian, and no I don't fancy Cass' (I think that last one is a bit of projection, I can see he likes and admires her a lot.)

I never got this in my first PT I think because I was in her favour.  When I saw it with my male mage Lavellan - I was like WTF Viv?  Then I was all 'whatevas'.

I wish she would rearrange the furniture in my game too, she seems to have great taste and I can't decorate for sh*t. But since I'm always pro-circle, we always seem to be thick as thieves, so I guess it's not to be

Vivienne hates my Mage, I was all about moving on and mages governing themselves. I didn't actually notice anything moved but I got that cutscene.

I have to admit I liked her better after finding out Indira Varma was her VA. I love Indira!

I believe I read the banter is recorded last? Perhaps they got carried away after witnessing Indira's full range.

I'm playing an anti-circle elf mage currently, so her hate for my IQ fits.  Next pt I have a lady Trev started - pro-circle, pro-templar mage who doesn't like the wardens, free mages or anyone dabbling in demons (or anyone who isn't human and or Andrastian).  I'm hoping to rp her as a bit of a monster but with a facade of niceness befitting 'the grand game'.  Poor Cullen, he doesn't know what he's in for...

 

But then more likely I'll bugger it all up when my own conscience intervenes and forces me to be nice to people. 

 

LOL I went into the keep with a mind to pick the most ruthless (IMO) choices for DA:O and DA2, but some just got the better of me (eg werewolves/elves I brokered peace when I really should have picked one or the other)

Well I made one, but she ended up more "mean girl vapid snot" than "high society self righteous". I don't even know how I'm gonna make her fall for Blackwall or vice versa, she may end up being with IB tbh, which would be cool because I've yet to do that. I fail at creating a realistic noble because playing a noble is not something I really enjoy so I end up making them dramatically insufferable. It would never be my first choice, but I still wish they'd do a nonnoble (non Mage) human origin.

Did you use the British male VA for yours? It's so hard to not turn any character with his VA into Snark City, he just does such a great job with it, lmao.

Well, I view my noble as being relatively down-to-earth (and snarky!), and she doesn't particularly like other nobles because they're all horribly stuffy. Also, because most noblemen seem like pampered wusses, she prefers scruffy guys of questionable character with blue eyes and beards. It all works out!

Especially those Orlesian ones with the weird toque hats. They look ridiculous.

Yea. I use Viv sometimes but after the revelation? Never. She's really extreemly biatchy to the beard. Its not like the others, she just really revel on being antagonistic kind of biatchy. I cant stand it.

By tormenting Blackwall after the reveal she only shows how low she is herself. You have to be close to the dirt to kick a man when he's down.
