@Bazylia -- Oh, that blonde hair works so beautifully for your Inquisitor (the balcony photo with Blackwall). Stunning!

I'm theorizing that the first party member in your group list (other than Dorian) is the one that gets dragged in. Hopefully some others can confirm this with their own results.
I don't know about the others, but it fits what I got. Had Blackwall and Varric in my party, found Varric first, Varric got dragged in.
Like should I really be handling a substance that I don't understand as a mage?
Nothing is as bad as Lavellan's dialogue with Morrigan upon their arrival to Arbor Wilds, though.
- I believe he is after the temple of Mythal, - Morrigan says.
- Which is? - Lavellan asks.
God dammit Lavellan, you're dalish! Were you skipping lessons with the keeper or something?

@Gilsa: Thanks! From the moment I knew Blackwall was going to be romanceable I had this concept of pairing him with a slender (well, default-body-shaped, whatever), fair-haired quizzie, thought they'd make a nice visual contrast and apparently they do ![]()

Seriously? That's just... Nonsense XD Must work especially well for a mage Lavellan.
Oh, well, there are many things we love Bioware games for, but I must admit logic is not always one of them.

Oh god, I know. It's pretty awful. I tried to headcanon that she was being sarcastic. Tried being the key word.

Aw, I was going to have my Lavellan drink from the Well (because I haven't before and was curious), but then Blackwall spoke up and I couldn't ![]()

Blackwall saved me from breaking my RP at the well on my first PT. See, my Aeducan had already been played by Bhelen at the onset so when Morrigan -- despite our BFF status and the fact that I killed her mom for her -- came clean about her ulterior motives and refused to be forthcoming about her intentions AND LEFT HER BEFORE THE SHOW DOWN, it was deju vu for Aeducan. Fast forward allllllll the way to the well in DAI. Exact same scenario. Morrigan wasn't being forthcoming about what she read, wants to drink the well for some mysterious reason, and LEFT CADASH in the temple even after Cadash said no, we're not using the well. I sat there thinking GD IT MORRIGAN.
My inner Aeducan was elbowing my poor Cadash to deny Morrigan the well, don't let her have it, no no no and then:
"Let the witch have the well. I'll not lose you."

Not finding the Blackwall dialogue I was looking for, but am finding some interesting stuff perusing the Sound Explorer. There's a sound folder called "blk_recruitment_farmer" and it looks like originally we were meant to originally be able track him down by finding a farmer who had run into him. Hard to reconstruct from the files, but it *sounds* like, the timeline of what happened before we meet blackwall (which is pretty even with what is in the game, this just makes it clearer) was:
The breach happened, Blackwall came and helped people fight off demons
While people were running around afraid, bandits came and looted their stuff.
Blackwall conscripted them to try to make them fight for their things.
But not this old man, because he's "old and someone had to stay behind".
(I like the VA a lot). Anyway, it's sweet and it's nice to hear how involved BW was with helping people in that area. ("Good man, kept us safe when the demons came")
...at least I don't think these files made it into the game....

You can actually find that guy in game, by Wittle at the Crossroads (the guy you get the apostate cache quest from). His name is Giles, but he'll only talk to you if you have the quest to recruit Blackwall in your log.
He should be leaning against the stone wall/fence/thing on the way out of town.
Edit: Oh, he also disappears after you recruit Blackwall. I kinda wanted a little reunion scene with the two of them, tbh.

Anyway, the most important thing is that I extracted Blackwall's MAKER'S BALLS audio so I can listen to it at my leisure.
That's my favorite Blackwall quote. ![]()

You have to leave at least one option in his "Let's talk about you" tree, as far as I understand, and I think that has to last all the way until Revelations.
Sooo..anyone else using this as an excuse to reroll a new character and romance Blackwall all over again ?
Yeah me either ![]()
