On my warrior, during hard-mode (not NM!), I did pretty well on the trebuchet fight by turning the wheel a little bit at a time. If you just give it a crank or two, and not all the way over, you'll get the enemies in two doses. First you get two with the first cranks, and then when you finish cranking it the rest will come. If you kill those before turning the crank again, no more will come until you turn it. It lets you not have to fight a huge mob at a time. Which I greatly appreciated as a warrior, they all kept attacking me!
The tutorial fight was a little harder, but not too bad (on hard again, not NM). I just had to make sure Cass could draw some aggro when it was time to do the rift, either that, or run behind the pillar, so that he slowly followed and I could do the rift before he got me.
I miss orges, and the slow-mo scene of jumping on them and taking them down for the death kill. It was always so awesome to do as my little dual dagger rogues!
Yes, turning the wheel four times does the trick. I think I will side with the mages this time, which will make this battle VERY interesting. Templars are tougher than mages.
The problem with tutorial fight was that demon minions immediately attacked my squishy mage even if I was doing nothing but activating the rift and Cass was in danger of dying while I was dealing with them. I wonder, does choosing to charge or to go through the mountain pass influences this fight somehow?
Exploring new dialogue options is fun! I'm playing Trev mage and talking to Josie. She asks about my previous life and what I think about the templars. One of the options: "I had a crush on one templar, but nothing happened because I was too shy."
If it's not a setup for Cullen, I don't know what is.
Seeing all these "I hate Sera/Blackwall" threads popping almost every day made me think why I like these pariahs so much. One of the reasons is that they are more relatable, I guess. They are not special snowflakes by their birth. Not an ancient god, not a spirit, not even an elite of society as Cass or Vivienne. I hope this fan speculations about Sera is not true. You don't have to be an ancient elven godess to be special. I did not like Sera first but then warmed up to her. I romanced her with my Templar Trev last playthrough and found out that she is in fact rather sweet and is secret romantic (her diary is something). And while I first was mad that BW trolled me advertising Blackwall as a Grey Warden, I now think it's for the best that he is not a walking perfection, but a man struggling to take his life on the right course.
@kalala
Your elven avatar is amazing, it's interesting what you'll manage to do with a dwarf
Best of luck!
I lack at this department so I usually end up tweaking the defaults a little. CC is lost on me.
Here is my new Trev as an example.
