The general consensus (just from what I've seen around the forums) is that BW's card doesn't correspond to a specific card in the Tarot whether Majors or pips.
Oh HEY. The thread talked about this a while ago, that if you had the Lone Warden quest active in your log, you could ask a farmer about him and get more info, but once you got him, the conversation would disappear. I always meant to load up an older save and check it out, but never got around to it. Finally found a video that covered exactly this so linking for others just as lazy as I am. =p
Exiting lurk mode for a bit.
First of all, I can't believe I never ran into this guy, it gets me wondering if I missed anything else by fast traveling too much.
Second of all, If there was ever a doubt in my mind about whether Blackwall redeemed himself for his crimes, it is completely gone. Hearing about how he is helping the helpless from demons and trying to teach the villagers how to fight so that they can defend themselves next time really shows that he is trying his best to atone for what he did through his actions. I mean, I know we hear multiple times that those are his ideals now, but hearing a direct example just makes it feel more real.
The murder of an entire family maybe inexcusable, but I am of a mindset that everyone deserves some semblance of a second chance and after seeing this, I think Blackwall deserves one more than most.
I also have this little metagame in mind where when my Lavellan hears about Blackwall from Giles she is instantly smitten by this heroic figure that goes around protecting the innocent, she's a sucker for protectors.
It makes her coming on to him in Haven feel more natural for me because she was interested in him as soon as she heard about him.
That's just my opinion anyway. Have a great day everyone.
I've missed so much and I've put in roughly 250 hrs into the game in 2 playthroughs. Neither of which were completionist at all. Gah, c'mon next patch so I can start anew (actually good to have a break I just hope the patch doesn't come in the next couple of weeks because I'm super busy at work.
Agreed Adam! I wish that scene hadn't been so shoved to the side optional, tbh, I wonder how many people actually saw it organically on their first PT.
Lol yeah, Bugsie...it is really nice to have a break. I was getting tired of it, and now I care less about the endless wankfests the game has alway inspired, but seems to have worsened lately . (Guess we are all getting cranky tired of the game )
LOL yeah. I try to avoid drama and was going to post something in response to someone's ridiculous reasonings for wanting to kill Solas (metagame much dude?) but decided they weren't worth the energy or my time. Why do people always want to kill characters they dislike or hate?
I'm trying to muck around with some of the settings to try and take pretty screenies of characters and landscapes. Still learning though. Been some great shots of Blackwall but I want some fight shots of him. You can get some interesting screenies in battle.
Any suggestions on where to take him to get him at his most awesome?
Still waiting on patch 5 to drop before getting back into the game. In the meantime, I just keep building up my tumblr shrine to questionable men, like a crow dragging garbage to line its nest. Hopefully by staying focused on that, I can keep clear of whatever the w_ank du jour is. Killing Solas is a new one for me though.
I've been entertaining myself with 1980s crime dramas in the meantime.
My three favorite spots are Western Approach, Exalted Plains, and Emprise Du Lion because they all offer areas where there aren't a lot of shadows, and the light is bright but diffused.
Dragon fights are always good for fighting screenshots, imo, because they take place in those big open spaces. Also, badass. And definitely think about what the area's colors are before you dress him.
...i can overthink this like a madwoman.

Ugh. I like to stay in the character fan threads, much safer there.
I haven't gotten too many good action shots yet, so I don't have any good suggestions. Something with good lighting and a pretty background, that wouldn't be too busy and take away from the shot. Emprise would have the cool icy lighting. Storm coast & pre-saved Crestwood is always good for moody lighting and rain. There's always the sandy dunes of the Hissing Wastes, too for those nightime shots. But those are better suited for riding in the moonlight, i think
I had a not anticipated break for most of February, so I'm not burned out too much. I also haven't completed a second playthrough yet. Been stalling and goofing around on three characters at one time. Basically, I'm just having fun with the characters and cutscenes. And taking an embarrassing amount of screenshots.
I can hear that. It's so hard for me to grasp that David Coverdale co-wrote this, since my first exposure to him was in the 80's hair metal band Whitesnake. Anyway, I'll crawl back into my sarcophagus now.

That's a hard question. I think all the zones are good. It's just a matter of hitting pause and panning the camera around to see if anyone's doing anything interesting. I tend to limit myself to one mission per night to force myself to slow down and actually look at what my party is doing. I've gotten some surprisingly nice screenshots in dark areas so I'll toss up a few and mention where they were taken. The spells and abilities give nice light and they can give some really nice bokeh if you blur the background. Battleshots are akin to small children. They just aren't going to sit still and follow commands so you gotta snap away and eventually you'll get something. =p

This was from a cave in Storm Coast. I didn't have time to light a torch on the wall before we got attacked by spiders and deepstalkers. The green cloud was likely some form of poison.
This was in Fallow Mire. My character kept getting splattered with mud (god, I hope it was mud) so I drank a potion to make it look like she was rinsing her mouth out. I never did figure out how Blackwall stayed so clean though. I don't have a single screenshot with mud on him.
Cave in Hinterlands (near Lyrium Falls). The yellow glow is coming from one of Blackwall's abilities.
Edit: By the way, I will be asking people to share more screenshots of their characters with Blackwall so keep taking them in the meantime. Battleshots, cut scenes, cell phone pictures, stick drawings, IT ALL COUNTS.

So, my current Inquisitor dumped Blackwall during the Batman kiss scene (because I have no self control and intended for her to romance Solas). That was... interesting o.o
Gilsa that first screenie is so awesome. So so so awesome. I love it.
And the lighting in the second (I take is the Fallow Mire) is pretty cool too.
I got some great shots of my current inquisitor Varriel in the Well of Sorrows along with Samson (current obsession) Plus some good ones during the end game.
I'm on PS3, so unfortunately all my shots will be *SUPER HIGH QUALITY* cell phone pictures. Lol.
But I have them!
I'm at the part with my Man-Quizzie where I can go find Giles, so I'm going to go do that right now! I have actually noticed him in all my playthroughs because his name is Giles, but I never stopped to talk to him. There's no exclamation point on the map or any particular reason to talk to him, so I can see lots of players ignoring him like I did.
Ok, I finally made it past Revelations with my current character (I have started enjoying the Cullen romance too, yay). I left one line open in the "what about you" in Haven and here are the screenshots. The what about family is different for romanced Blackwall, aww. ETA: this is not romanced.
