LOL!
I didn't mind the red and the blue but the dirty worn leather look of the gloves and boots bothered me significantly.

"Thomato"
Love it!
I do hope we get some kind of DLC soon. Not that I need a reason to play this game yet again, though, but it's always nice to get something new.
If we want a DLC we better vote here http://game-stats.tu...isition-romance
I scrolled down to look at the people who reblogged it and noticed that many of those I follow on tumblr because Blackwall fans! didn't reblog it.
I myself just saw this by chance since I avoid the blackwall tag. I guess by now most Blackwall fans desert the blackwall tag on tumblr, so we miss a lot of stuff unless it's reblogged by someone we follow. It's not fair ![]()

That's just too cute. ![]()
I love Blackwall. He was my LI the first play through. I end up coming back to Cullen mostly becaue of the chess thing and our history over 3 games.
Blackwall is the hottest with that beard though. A grown up Jon Snow.

![]()
I wish his hair was a little longer, and there were 1-2 braids, too....like his:

I would gladly put as many bows, ribbons, etc in his hair as he wishes *melting*
William Wallace
Braveheart happens to be my fav movie ever you know?
Blackwall is perfect the way he is ;D
EDIT: everybody who is on tumblr vote plz, follow the link I posted and vote for Blackwall plz ![]()

I love that move more than I should, too ![]()
Indeed, Blackwall is perfect as he is, but some more bows (EDIT: and braids) can not hurt ![]()
Edit: Just found this among my screenshots:

On his height: I don't know myself, or even know if we have a true source.
I've heard rumors floating around that at one point they considered making him a dwarf, and I've seen people say he looks short in the game (which I've never seen, comparing my characters to him). Both of those things perhaps contribute to him being short in a lot of stories. From some of the early artwork I've seen of him (looking back now, since I was away from the fandom until the game was released), he looked tall and big.
I think maybe it's just personal preference. Sort of how some like him more with a belly (hiding muscle, of course!), and some like him more athletic. Since there's not a huge amount of fan art out there, I'll take Blackwall anyway I can get him!
Though for my own head canon he's probably about 6', 6'1" (edit: my range for him would be 5"10 to 6'3").
I like to think of him as tall and burly, but that's because I like tall and burly! Give me that broad chest to lean against and a man who can rest his chin on the top of my head while completely enveloping me in a hug. ![]()
I just roll with somewhere a bit above six feet as far as his height goes - lol.
I have a question, not quite related to Blackwall, but related to quizzie heights vs Blackwall. How tall do you all picture your quizzies, with Blackwall? If only there were body sliders!
I know Adaar is taller than him, but how much taller do you picture?
Dwarves are obviously shorter, but how tall do you imagine your dwarves?
They make the humans & elves fairly tall in game, only a bit shorter than the men, but I never really go by that. I have different ideas for how tall each of my girls are.
Kiara I imagine to be about 5'8"ish, to Blackwall's 6'1"ish -- roughly a 5" or 6" difference in bare feet. I also picture her with a tendency to get more round when she's not doing a lot of activity. The inquisition keeps her in good shape, but in the same way I imagine with Blackwall, sometimes she gets a little bit of a layer over her muscles.
My mage Ysabel is shorter and easily stays slender, as if magic burns up calories just by the effort it takes to conjure. She had no muscle at all to start with though -- all the walking and fighting has finally helped her in that regard. I think of her around 5'3, maybe 5'4 on a good day. In some AU save she gets to stay with Blackwall, since I couldn't resist starting up his romance. I go back and forth between it and the "real" world where she's with Cullen. There's also a crazy world where she romanced Bull, I have pictures as evidence, but I think she would deny it all as a fever dream of the fade.
And just the the hell of it, even though he's not a Blackwall LI, I imagine Finn as tallish, an inch or two taller than Dorian. Not quite as burly as Blackwall, but he is a warrior & champion like Blackwall. They are great friends. Blackwall may admire Finn as someone to follow, but Finn completely looks up to Blackwall, almost like a mentor. The reveal is going to devastate him! I haven't reached it yet in Finn's playthrough.
Blackwall is the same height as Cullen but beard and gambeson make him look larger and, Maker knows why, even shorter than he is. There's also the fact that his dwarven fiancès look taller and bigger in the kiss scenes, perhaps?
Anyway I gave up appealing to people's analytical sense (critical sense?) especially after I discovered that the overweight cathegory decided Blackwall is canonically short and fat because they needed an icon, and don't you dare to disagree or you're assaulted and instantly labeled as a heartless monster ![]()
My handsome warrior
with a brawny hairless scarred warrior body
has been transformed into a jovial chubby guy whose fav weapon is the tv remote control ![]()
The web is killing me, I better find another hobby ![]()
Uh well I see Blackwall as having some fat on him along with those muscles and I don't particularly like the assumption that it's because I"m "the overweight category looking for an icon" who wants to turn him into a "jovial chubby guy whose fav weapon is the tv remote control" but um...okay??? I guess I just don't get why such things are a big deal, lmao, it's not like someone's headcanon changes whats in your game.
(he's also hella hairy to me
)
I really don't see Blackwall as overweight, either. I think the casual jacket he wears in Skyhold somehow just doesn't fit him quite right and can give that impression. Especially looking at his nude barbie model, you can definitely see that he is looking juuuust fiiiine.
Uh, but that's just my opinion. His height... he is as tall as both Cullen and Dorian (I just checked a clip with him and Dorian standing side by side). I'd say somewhere around 180-185cm.
@veeia: I was not referring to you, but that's the exact situation I found on tumblr. About the 'icon' thing I was far from understanding it until I received this reply from a user:
In the game, everyone pretty much uses the same body. The shape of the specially design outfits will change, but if you put them all in the outfits that look the same on everyone, they all will have the same shape. So I don't really find comparing what they look like in game to be helpful, to me at least. They had to make them all the same height, otherwise they'd have to do even more work with cutscenes. Easier just to have one model, and then float characters off the ground or sink their feet into the ground when they want to make them taller/shorter. Just like I have my inquisitors look different to me, I give all the companions/advisers different looks from one another too. If I went by the game model, they would all be exactly the same height and shape.
In a way, with the game having all the models be the same, it actually lends itself to personal preference. Everyone can have their own interpretation of what the character would actually look like.

True.
I was referring to something that recently happened on tumblr after I read this:
Anyway, Chardonney, in game he clearly uses the default male model body, so when I say I see him as having fat on him or wev, it's not like I think he's overweight because he has bulky clothes, it's because Inquisition has a horrible lack of body diversity, so I make up for it in my mind, shrug. He also looks good ripped. Idk. I like him in all forms.
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to contradict your post and I apologise if it sounded that way. I was more thinking about the Tumblr situation. There's absolutely nothing wrong seeing him having weight on him. That's the beauty of it: everyone can see the characters they way they want and no one should have a problem with that. Oh, I hope I'm not messing this up again by saying it all wrong. ![]()
And yes, he looks very good in any form. ![]()
True.
I was referring to something that recently happened on tumblr after I read this:
gyjyiyyyyxdhxcch said: "blackwall being bear mode is 1000% canon tbh u cant deny the facts"andgayspider said: "literally both bull and blackwall have like muscle fat and ppl insist on drawing them with RIPPLING CHISELED ABS like why?? they have fat and muscle and its amazing dont take it away"I replied that I -and many others- are actually happy with people insisting on drawing a chiseled Blackwall and that no, the chubby one is NOT 1000% canon. The author of the post took it as a personal attack and put me on ignore
I'm sorry you had a bad experience!
Tumblr can be a strange place. It has it's own etiquette. I've found for the most part, it's hard to discuss differences of opinion there. The general consensus is if you agree with something, you reblog it. If you don't, you ignore it. Or you make your own post with the opposite viewpoint, and people that agree with you reblog yours. Since the creator of the post not only gets notified with comments, but can also read all the tags written when the post was reblogged, it's become bad form to criticize even in your tags. Especially if it is a piece of art, or even a gifset, since people took time to create those.
A lot of times people just want to share a thought or opinion, but don't necessarily want to open the subject for discussion. To keep their tumblrs a happy positive space, they'll often block people that have strong differing opinions, or even people that like to argue. I know I like to keep my dash a happy place, I even blacklisted the word "anti" because I got tired of seeing rants against characters.
The only thing I've seen that is fair game to reblog and argue on are those confession posts. Another reason I have most confession post blogs blocked. I've seen some really nasty arguing in some fandoms. Gah, I hate ship wars!
So really, the best rule of thumb on tumblr is sort of a strange one. If someone makes a post that says, "Why does everyone draw Steve in green? He should only wear blue!!" Instead of reblogging or commenting to the person, "hey, I like him in green!" you make a new, separate post saying, "I love when people draw Steve in green. It's the best!" Then, theoretically, everyone only reblogs the post they agree with, and everyone is happy.
Anyway. To keep things more Blackwall-ian, here's a piece of fan art I like. No source, since I found it early in this thread.

(side note: the only anti posts I completely agree with are anti-daylight savings time. I just realized I lost an hour, and it's now 5:30 in the morning and I have to go to bed!)
How do you not get that line? I think I've gotten it every time!
I spent power to get Blackwall out, then chose Leliana's option. When the judgment scene came, I did not use the top option, but the middle one, in the conversation node which has "I couldn't let you go" or something like that at the top and "I own you know" at the bottom. I think it was "no gratitude?" Blackwall still questions what you did, and you can reply he's lost the right to judge you, but the "the Inquisition is corrupt" line never came.
If that never happened to anyone else, they may have changed something in the last patch.
BTW, I just finished a game with Blackwall's romance. It's just too bad that the man himself isn't my main Inquisitor's type. The romance is really nice apart from the PDA at the throne.
On the height issue, I just got done with Halamshiral again and tried to take screenshots because it's the one place that Blackwall actually stands still for any length of time. Tried to get up close from behind so that the height difference is visible:
Anyhow, it does look like my human mage-quisitor is shorter than he is.
I have a question, not quite related to Blackwall, but related to quizzie heights vs Blackwall. How tall do you all picture your quizzies, with Blackwall? If only there were body sliders!

They make the humans & elves fairly tall in game, only a bit shorter than the men, but I never really go by that. I have different ideas for how tall each of my girls are.
I am not fond of the new dwarf female model for DAI. All they needed to do was fix the ape arms from DAO. Prior to DA2's release, they released a concept art of their new racial designs and described elves as long, lithe runners and dwarven females as roller derby gals. I envisioned a gal that could knock you flat on your feet, which the Origin model was already doing a great job of. Instead, the dwarven female got shorter and smaller.
In Origins, the dwarf female went up to the human male's shoulder and her body was just as wide. (I'm using a mod here for shorter arms, but the height ratio is the same.)

Now look at how much smaller the dwarf female is in Dragon Age Inquisition next to Blackwall. The change is dramatic.
So, to answer your question, I headcanon that she's got the same ratio as the DAO dwarves. This is the roller derby gal I expected and this is what I headcanon Cadash to be. She's no delicate flower. ![]()
