And if you listen to it, you can totally hear in their voices how great of friends they are. And she's pushed him before about sex, like when she offers to teach him with a peach, and whatnot. They just have that kind of relationship. If he wants to know how the dirty story she was telling ended, it only seems natural to me. I know I would! And when she says "That wasn't her name" you can hear her laughing that he used "circumstances" as a euphemism instead of being explicit, and she's teasing about it.

But really, I think no matter what, people will find bits and pieces to use against characters they don't like. Taken out of context just about anything can seem bad.

And I totally agree with what was said earlier in the thread by veeia, I think? A lot of times I'll like a character, and then find myself slowly coming to dislike them because of the fanbase. Whenever that happens I have to take a step back and start blocking a whole bunch of stuff, so I can try to remember how I felt about the character before the fans stepped in. Not just with dragon age, but across all fandoms. Before I got into fandoms, I always thought fans of a show/game/etc would always be nice to eachother, because fans of the same thing! How little did I know back then! Inter-arguing within fandoms can be super toxic, more so than fandom against fandom. It's a weird phenomena.

Yes that's what dialogues I thought of immediately, like Sera is the one who is like boundaries?? What?? Lmao, but he loves it even though he's all "nooooo". Cries more about sera and Blackwall friendship, cries so much.

Sera/Blackwall friendship gives me liiiiiife, FOR REAL. Like it's the best thing since Merrill/Isabela, so supportive, such love, all that rappoooorrt hnnnng. They're beaut. And perfect and I swear I will fight a man--by which I mean grumble anonymously on the Internet to no one in particular--about iiiittt.

And yeah lmaaoo I remember those innocent days before I knew how vicious fandom was ahaha. I thought we were gunna be all kumbayah~ but it turns out people are kind of dicks?? That's okay though. There are a lot of fabulous folks, too.

I also recently woke up from the naive dream that people who share a common passion should be friends. I discovered that many people simply don't know what to do with friendship, friends and mutual respect. Wars and hate are so much funnier and savory -.-

In the last few months I stumbled into a ridiculous amount of stupidity, a lot of malice and many petty behaviours of all kinds. I often find myself wondering why I simply don’t delete my accounts and stop getting headaches and gastritis. The answer is that when I stumble into an intelligent human being -and it happens often enough luckily- I’m so enlightened with immensity and it’s so heartwarming that in the end I think all the crap just makes the wonderful people stand out and shine even more.

Like Gilsa, I enjoy reading other people's perspective and points of view, as long as they are intelligent and respectful like in this thread

 

Alistair and Blackwall would be great friends, they have so much in common: they both idolize the sacred duty of the Grey Wardens, they are idealists, and I agree that Blackwall could be a father to him like Duncan before him.

They have a good character dynamic with one another, but I personally wouldn't ship them romantically just because there's such a divide there on so many levels. I've often felt that Blackwall and Solas were meant to function as mirrors of one another, due to the similarity of their character arcs as regards deception and personal growth.

Sera-Blackwall friendship

I love when my friends get along. (Anders/Fenris/Sebastian party drama - no, thanks). I like Viv as a character, but having her in the party is a pure nightmare.

 

Blackwall and Sera tease each other all  the time, it's normal for them. It seems that friendship is a foreign concept for some people, who cares.

 

• Blackwall: That breach is hard to look away from sometimes. 
• Sera: Why? You know what it looks like. 
• Blackwall: No. No it doesn't. 
• Sera: You knoooow.

 

• Sera: Still on about milady Josie and her tricky tongue. Here's how I'll do it too.
• Sera: I find a nob right and I seduce him.
• Blackwall: You'll what? I worry where this might be going.
• Sera: Wait, not done yet.
• Sera: He thinks he's being seduced, but when it's time for slap and tickle, I jump up and say "I like your wife better!" (Laughs.)

They are just people without godly powers, flawed, confused, showing moments of weakness and strength and having their hearts bare before you.

 

Sera is the only one who approves when Inquisitor lets Blackwall to redeem himself. Yesterday I stepped over myself and let Florianne assassinate Celine. Only Blackwall and Sera disapproved greatly. Only them. Ouch.

 

I don't know if Sheryl or Lukas came up with the idea of this friendship, but I'm grateful, it warms my heart.

I am going to copy-paste something a tumblr friend told me about Blackwall in a private conversation, I think it's so beautiful that it deserves to be shared. She gave me permission to post it, so here it is:

 

"...So when I first encountered Blackwall in the woods, where he blocked that arrow and then immediately joined me because he BELIEVED IN ME, because he was ready to die for me and my cause, gods that cut me deep. Before Blackwall, I was getting a feeling from Cass and Cullen and even Leliana that I’m just somebody on the sidelines, nothing special, an ex prisoner. Josephine was a bit nasty about my Carta past (or I simply was too sensitive about it). 

 

Back in Haven stables, in that dialogue with Blackwall, the way he said he’d follow me even if the whole world turned on me, proved to me once more that he was following/joining ME, not the Inquisition. His belief in me is STAGGERING. It’s humbling and precious, and I love him so much for it. How he’s constantly reminding me that I’m somebody, that the past doesn’t matter, that I’m remarkable.
