I really like Blackwall, Dorian, and Varric together. Blackwall and Dorian always fighting until they found a common ground, which kind of reminded me of Isabela and Aveline. They eventually accepted each other flaws and learned to respect the person for who they were. 

 

PS: Isabela and Aveline were my favorite two people to have together.

Hmm, depends what I want:

If I want humorous banter, then I bring bull, and sera (through gritted teeth)

If I need a heartwarming or interesting banter, then I bring cole and dorian.

@verti: On my current playthrough, I've taken Blackwall, Dorian, and Cole out a lot. It gives me a mixture of snark, outright comedy, and seriousness. I did take Cassandra with the group for quite a while on my third playthrough - wanted to see if she'd eventually make up with Blackwall post-Revelations. They sort of do (at least, I think the bit when she kind of laughs at one of his lines must mean she's starting to move past it).

It is worth it to drag Vivienne around in the mage slot if you're romancing him, because he eventually puts her in her place when she pushes things too far.

EDIT: Also, there is the chance of interactive banter with Cass and Blackwall in the group post-Revelations.

This is exactly why I tolerated Vivienne and Blackwall on my first playthrough because I thought they'd turn a corner like Isabela and Aveline did, but it was just unpleasant right to the very end. Dorian provides that relationship growth.

I like Blackwall with anyone, really. Just not Vivienne. (It's like listening to two kids bickering in the backseat of a car.) Cassandra and Vivienne are the two companions that won't accept him after Revelations if that is a factor for your research purposes.

I like Dorian, Varric and Blackwall as a party. They make me feel like I am the only Inquisitor in the world. So many hairy handsome men.

I really wanted to take Dorian along, but I like him so much that I was afraid his and Blackwall's antagonizing of each other would sour me on the beard bae. But it seems like they get a little better, eventually? And I did like Dorian's comment that Blackwall "must be warm by the fire".

I just heard romanced!Blackwall's banter with Vivienne. I love how it basically amounts to, "SHE'S GREAT AND SHE CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS."

But hey, I might as well resurrect this thread back to page 1

 

I personally like Sera/Bull/Solas/Varric combo with Blackwall. Sera & Blackwall = BFF, Bull + Blackwall = some hilarious dialogue. Solas + Blackwall = interesting GW discussions, "kids these days" and a sort of "veteran" bonding. Varric + Blackwall = some prying, lots of Grand Tourney discussions, Marchers bond. I also personally like Cole + Blackwall after post-Revelations and after Cole's own quest, it's like they are trying to make sense of each others' situations kind of thing.

 

And some new information that I chanced upon...

Also, there seems to be some new information from WoT V2, and this time round it's an entry about young Thom Rainier during what happened at the tourney and how he eventually ended up in the Orlesian army. If any of you guys have had a chance to look at it, it tells us a really different person than the man he is atm. There are hints throughout the game from the other companions about how they think young Rainier's life was like (Bull's was definitely the most hilarious), and I wasn't surprised at all that those were what happened... but damn, those were pretty harsh stories  - young Rainier was totally filled with pure arrogance, stupidity, drunken stupors and the likes... But I'm all with Solas on "the best healers often have the bloodiest hands" deal... Improving yourself a little is a big deal, but totally converting your life the way Rainwall did is one heck of a feat o.O

 

Wish we could have meet Gordon in a way too.

Also, hilarious typo in a non-fiction manuscript that I was just blathering about it in my feed: erotic precipitation. I'm sure that those two words can serve as the basis of some sort of smutty Blackwall-related fan-fic if anyone wants to run with it (am fairly certain that the author actually meant "erratic precipitation"; he was writing about Africa, not Blackwall, alas).

My preference is for Dorian and Cole, occasionally swapping out Cole for Sera, or if I need it, Solas (two mages, two warriors!)

I know this is SUPER late but I like Blackwall/Dorian/Cole (or) Sera.  They have the bestest dialogues!

Although I hate Geralt, I do kind of want to hear AP's dialogue in TW3. Welps, that's what youtube is for - listening to Blackwall in other games without paying $60!
