If someone makes a Blackwall mod for the Witcher 3 I would $60 just to see him without pants.

That's the only thing that would convince me to pay a full $60 for the game - lol.

Petit: small; petty; minor.

Alms: money, food, or other donations given to the poor or needy; anything given as charity.

So small/petty/minor things given as charity to the poor and needy.

The term came up in "Dragon Age: Asunder." (Excerpt found here.)

He laughed when a group of children assembled by the road, shouting for petit alms. It was Orlesian tradition, after all, and Rhys wished he had coins to throw them.

I'm no coming up with sad headcanons about Blackwall if he becomes a warden.

Sad headcanons give me life.

If only his watchword were petit fours instead, then it would be naughty and delicious.

You know how Varric gives a summary of what previous companions are up to? I noticed that his commentary was pretty much the same for an Isabela that ran off with the tome and an Isabela that stayed. She's the captain of her ship in both versions. I was wondering if the same would apply to Blackwall for the next game, that he's going to be a Grey Warden no matter what. The only nuances would be whether he joined of his own volition, was ordered by the Inquisitor to join, or is maintaining the original "lie" under Inquisition orders. Would keep things simple so they don't have to come up with different stories to the evergrowing list of the eternal "where are they now?" question.

That's a good point Gilsa. I can see a Blackwall who was pardoned and not made to join the wardens, actually joining of his own volition, in fact it's my favoured headcanon for him.  An imprisoned Blackwall could have the right of conscription called upon him and the same could be said of an enslaved Blackwall (and even the inquisitor would be bound to honour that - much to many Blackwall haters dislike I suspect!)

Hello forum friends!

I'm planning on making a music video to Blackwall's romance and was wondering what songs people think are a good fit for him. I have a few ideas already but nothing I'm 100% sold on yet so looking for some input! I wouldn't use any song with lyrics in it that reference things that don't exist in the DA universe (Talking on the phone, driving a car, etc)

Thanks for any ideas :)

@Elisaveta: Well, I've mentioned Damien Rice's "I Don't Want to Change You" (from My Favourite Faded Fantasy) about ten million times, but I'll link the video again - heh:

Spoiler

And I guess I might as well link the title track from the album as well (it's also apropos):

petit alms is a beggars' plea from the Middle Ages, I think.  Travellers would throw money to clear out the beggars and pass, a bit like the window washers outside the tunnel:  "We'll get out of your way if you pay us," is the general sentiment.  It probably works better now, because if you run someone over you're sure to at least get a ticket.  It also might be the habit of nobles, after a feast, to distribute the scraps to the needy.  That was done too, though I don't remember if it has a name.  AFIK, it's just something he would never say under any normal circumstances, so if he says it, it means stop.
