I just got the Avar Pack! Should I have a shirtless Black wall in gold or silver, or should I put in the armor the that looks like Skywatcher?

I'm passing on the Avvar DLC. I'm more interested in the story DLC. Hopefully that's what we'll get next. But I'm eager to see screenies of Blackwall in that shirtless armor. Black and gold will probably be pretty.
@AtreiyaN7: YES!

Hey everyone! Just some shameless self-promotion here. I've started a fanfic that spans from Mornay's execution to Judgment Day and will explore all the behind the scenes happenings to get Blackwall out of prison. Should be fun!
Now if we would only get some DLC news!

Okay
SpoilerSpoiler
Haha, I actually made more standard Warden-like heavy armor based on a schematic I got and went with silver and blue theme for Blackwall the last time I went on a crafting binge. However, I think the gold really works with this Avaar "armor." It pops a bit more than the silver and blue version!

Joe! The black and gold is beautiful!
Thank you for sharing with us!
The 2nd set of pics won't open for me though for some reason ![]()
I actually had to uninstall and redownload and reset optimal settings on Nvidia for DA:I because I was getting some funky thing going on with my cutscenes. They were all blurry and had black wispy looking stuff. The uninstall didn't fix it, but resetting to optimal did. But now my cutscenes are stuttery. I read turning off Origin in game will help with that so I did, next time I start up the game we'll see! If everything is working maybe I'll play another pt ![]()

So, there is a new blackwall mod out on Nexus - together with a second one you can get a blackwall without beard (but with stubble).
You need these two mods: "Rainier'd Blackwall" and "Blackwall no beard".
Nothing against his beard but he looks good without:

He looks great. Has vibes of DAO Loghain with the dark long hair and intense eyebrows.

If I had a PC, I'd use this mod after Revelations. No more hiding behind beards, Rainier.

If I had a PC, I'd use this mod after Revelations. No more hiding behind beards, Rainier.
Would have been cool if post-Revelations, we had been given the option to influence who he wanted to be and what path he wanted to take, such as whether he decided to keep the name and beard to honour the memory of Gordon Blackwall, or whether to shave the beard off and attempt to properly redeem the name of Thom Rainier?
Cole, Cullen, Leliana and Bull all have stories that alter them in some way and the decisions you make regarding each show afterwards. With a female Lavellan, you have the option to remove your vallaslin if romancing Solas and a few people comment on this physical change afterwards.
Blackwall seemed like his story was tailor-made for him for him to undergo something similar, yet at the end, it was like the status quo remained in effect?
While I think that Cole was right and Blackwall "killed" Rainier by genuinely becoming a good man, it'd have been nice to explore who the man under the paper-thin-disguise was in more depth after his secret came out, rather than simply drop the matter like a hot potato.

Blackwall without a beard just looks so wrong... It's odd when you know someone looks good with a beard and you can't imagine them without the beard. When they shave it off, you just don't who they are anymore.

Yeah, it honestly took me a while to recognise him without his beard in that picture above.
He does look a lot younger without the beard, but I'd be curious to see whether or not he's as expressive without the beard? Some people look far more animated and expressive when they've got a beard, I'd imagine that Blackall's anger, sadness and puppy-dog eyes look less intense clean-shaven.

There are some wonderful GIF sets of beardless Blackwall from wardenaeducan on tumblr. I prefer bearded Blackwall, but I love being able to see his face and emotions with the GIFs.

@Sifr -- I recall reading an interview with Sheryl Chee where her intention was for the epilogue to be Blackwall's new beginning. She was mainly talking about the relationship with the Inquisitor, but I got the sense that's why there's no further character development for him after Revelations. But yeah, I hear ya. We're all a little hungry for some direction instead of leaving it wide-open.

Blackwall does have a wonderful story and the build up to the reveal was handled really well, but yeah, it definitely needed just some more meat to it afterwards, as it did feel like the companions had more chance to react in banter to Blackwall unmasked than we did.
It'd be similar to if they'd had Alistair not spill the beans at Redcliffe and we'd gone through the whole of Origins not knowing of his true parentage, only to have the reveal dropped on us just before the Landsmeet... but be given only one conversation where we could discuss it with him?
That's not to say Blackwall is the only one with this... Solas has a similar lack of denouement post break-up with Lavellan, but the reveal about his identity in the post-credits lessened the punch somewhat, as it lead to the (hopeful) implication that there would be a resolution to come?
Still, Blackwall at least has a story arc in the game, compared to Sera and Vivienne who really don't have much in the way of one.
