Im glad I ran into a topic about the Grey Warden! I actually have a pretty neat theory regarding him:
In Dragon Age Origins if you talk to Alistair about his time with the wardens he will mention something that kinda goes like "That's right you didn't get to meet them all did you? There was this one Warden, Gregor who had the fuzziest beard you could ever find! Anyways, we all challenged him to drink him down but he came out on top. When we all awoken, Gregor was still sitting there drinking". My theory is that this Gregor is the same Grey Warden companion we'll have in Inquisition as it fits the companions profile and in some of the concept art, the Warden is shown with a drink.
He will likely have information regarding the Grey Warden's mysterious actions in Dragon Age II seeing how he wasn't present in Ferelden during the fifth blight (perhaps he got turned away at the border by Loghain's forces like the rest of the Warden reinforcements?), perhaps even describing the foreshadowed Darkspawn invasion of the Anderfels.

That's an interesting theory. I think we discussed it before, but if we did, it was ages ago. There's a decent chance that it's him, especially if they want a Ferelden Warden. After all, he doesn't exactly look Orlesian. If he is Orlesian I'll probably wind up laughing a little, to be honest. There are lots of other ways they could write him, though. He could be from the Korcari Wilds or the Anderfels or Starkhaven.
Another option is that he's only been added to the Wardens after the Blight, but I'm hoping he'll be more experienced. Maybe even "close to his Calling" experienced.
