yeah.... my bad.... i feel like i need to shower after that one....
Anyways, Anders aside. They have a whole new chance to develop that self warden hatred with hopefully a better character

Regardless of the guy's orientation (if he's even in the game), I can mostly definitely see him getting a lot of attention in the bara fandom. James Vega was a bit of a hit with the bara fans, too.

He better be a s/s option or I'll raze BioWare to the ground.

I don't know if I count as being part of the "bara fandom" since technically I am physically female
but I agree. GIMME. Er, I mean... my inquisitor says, GIMME.

My dear, all are welcome to the bara fandom!!!

Yeah, as long as you make room for everyone, then no one is excluded from the bara fandom.
Since he seems to be entering old age, could he be nearing the time of his calling?
Or is he a recent addition to the Wardens?
I had to google 'bara'. I'm still not sure I know what it is,
Can't we just be a fan of the guy and not be shoehorned into a generic label? What's wrong with just being part of the Bearded Warden fandom (presumably it will someday be his name)?

Sure you can. It was just a joke.

GIMMIE, GIMMIE GIMMIE!
"Bara" is just Japanese comics by gay men for gay men. It's in contrast to BL, which is m/m comics by women for women.

I prefer BL despite you know, Being a dude ._.
Anywho...

Same. You like what you like, despite what the "intended audience" is supposed to be.
There are LOTS of male BL fans! And lots of female bara fans. And straight women who like yuri, etc.
The distinctions are just marketing distinctions. And also sociological ones.
People generally use bara to refer to big, muscular, ~manly~ older guys because it's the, uh, common aesthetic found in this genre. That's probably where it comes from. (Don't ask me how I know this.) (Just kidding I know it because I looked it up on wikipedia. I mean I think it was wikipedia anyway but whatever I clearly remember that I looked it up somewhere like that.)
I check back in on this thread after being away for a few days and it's now focused on Bara and Bear discussions?!? Never change BSN, never change! ![]()
I hope he's a companion. It's ironic that we don't know much about the Wardens despite playing as one in DA:O. Of course, it was an exceptional situation, and had Duncan lived he would have provided the necessary infodump.
There are so many points that can be played with that companion:
-What is the role of the Wardens in the Veil Tear crisis? They exist only to stop the Blights, but what happens if another end of the world is around the corner? Not a political crisis, but an honest End Of The World As We Know It. Shouldn't they help?
-Related to that, are they really neutral? Should they be? The Wardens who saved the world during the Blights (including our Warden) got their hands dirty in politics, if only to build massive alliances, but Alistair in DA2 (if he's a Warden) states that the rest of the Wardens didn't like it very much.
-The First Warden actually does politics, but the common Wardens aren't very imrpessed. The First Warden was the only who actually was delighted at the prospect of the Hero of Ferelden becoming Arl of Amaranthine. What if he/she tries to become King/Queen of the Anderfels?
-What did Avernus find out? Is it related to Coripheus being able to control Wardens and take over their bodies? What would happen if someone like Coripheus took control of the First Warden?
Questions, questions, and only that character could provide the answers we seek in Inquisition. If not, we would have to wait for the next game in the series portraying a Warden protagonist.
That picture with him walking away from the gallows is intriguing. What was his situation? A convicted saved in the last minute? An executioner sick and tired of his job?
What DID happen with Avernus in DA2?
Maybe answers come in DAI?
I've always kind of wondered if the bara/yaoi thing was mostly just a Japanese cultural thing that isn't as widely applicable in the west, because the bear community seems more of a niche than young/pretty in the face/smooth to little body hair look for guys in the gay community, as far as I've ever seen.
Revelation, maybe hes actually a really buff jesus
Sooooooo the Grey Warden
and guesses on what his name might be?
No clue, but it's been kind of bugging me for a while now. I really want to know.

Good question. We don't even have enough to speculate on because we're not even sure where he's from. Is he Ferelden? Orlesian? Nevarran? Who knows?

Look at his moustache. Search your feelings.
