It is a real surname, but it could be a nickname too - a black-bearded "wall" of armour with a big shield.

Yeah, the Stroud stuff was interesting but it never really sounded plausible.

 

I'm glad Blackwall is a new character - they have so much more to work with.

Well, I can already guarantee that, if he is a companion, he's going to be in my party all the time. I friggin' love the idea of the Grey Wardens and the idea that they are some extreme fighting force without borders, harboring tons of dark secrets. Buhh. Gives me a lore-boner.

It was mentioned in response to one of his armor concepts with the giant plumes on his helmet, that he is probably from Orlais. I will dig up in the thread and maybe i could find it

That helmet's kinda strange, but we'll probably get the option to choose a different one for him, huh? Love the quote; sounds very honorable. I'm sure he'll be a great addition to the inquisition.
