It requires the original poster to do that, and he hasn't been on for several days.Shouldn't we change the thread name now?

The reason the Fifth Blight happened in Ferelden was because the Archdemon knew Blackwall was somewhere else.

Thank god blackwall got his real name. People using stupid names like feathers made the warden sound like a joke.

For those who don't know, Warden-Constables are the seconds in command to the Warden-Commanders of the various nations of Thedas; that would make him less in rank to the PC of Awakening.
I imagine he was the Warden-Constable of Orlais and the Orlesian Wardens are the ones the Inquisition is fighting in the trailer.

Iron Bull found the whole thing rather amusing.

I wonder if there's only one Warden-Commander in Orlais. I know that there's one in each country (minus the Marches) but there are multiple bases in Orlais (the letter mentioned Val Chevin, but i think Riordan mentioned another in DAO).For those who don't know, Warden-Constables are the seconds in command to the Warden-Commanders of the various nations of Thedas; that would make him less in rank to the PC of Awakening.

Or maybe there are multiple Warden-Constables, and of the. Are in charge of the bases where the WC isn't present?

I'm glad we have a higher up Warden companion, I only wish he was from the Anderfels now ![]()

Val Chevin.
Maybe Blackwall knows Michel de Chevin.
That's what I was thinking, or even

It is state that is of the Chevin family but, he is a distant relative and not seen as a member of the family.
Oh yeah. I double checked, and he isn't even from Val Chevin. Ah well. I knew he wasn't from the Chevin family, but I thought maybe he was at least from Val Chevin.
I'm sure Blackwall and Michel would get along if they were to meet at least.

Michel is actually not of the Chevin family.

I know it might seem a minor fact to some but you might want to throw that under spoilers.

I believe the quote strengthen the possibility that his reasons for joining the Inquisition was due to inaction from the Wardens in regards to helping others; perhaps they intended to simply stand and watched while Thedas was destroyed by Civil Wars and demonic invasions simply because no Darkspawn were involved.
Or perhaps it denotes a change from protectors to just another faction seeking political power caused by the First Warden's bid for the throne of the Anderfels.
Reminds me a bit of Fallout 3 with the divide in the Brotherhood of Steel, where some wanted to not just search for old technology but also try and help protect "the locals", while the Outcasts broke off because they're only interested in their original mission of gathering old technology and anyone needing their help was out of luck.
I LIKE it.
Gotta say, I didn't really have this companion on my radar before today's reveal, but now I am seriously questioning my decision on a tank. Had been leaning towards Cassandra or Iron Bull as front-runners, but that quote really puts Blackwall into a category of character I really, really like and appreciate (Aveline-like, so to speak, and I adored her).
Also, I'm really digging his look, stance, and armor in that shot. With the intensity and angle of The Stare™ and the interesting shape of his armored boots, he kinda looks like a big ol' black bear or grizzly bear ready to tear someone apart. Love it!
