I am rather worried about the rehash of Weapon designs from Dragon Age 2, the worst weapon designs.

While it's possible that some/many/all of them will be in the final game, do keep in mind that many of these could be placeholders.

Honestly I wouldn't get your hopes up. Of all the male companions, bar Cole, he is the least likely to be romancable. He is a very senior Warden (he was 2nd in command of Orlais 10 years ago, so he's got at least 15 years service as a Warden, probably a lot more), so the Calling is very close for him. He also seems to have devoted himself to the protection of the people (doubtless as a means of adding justification to his life ending prematurely very soon), and as such seems to me to be more interested in doing what good he can for others, rather than romancing someone.

 

DHMG, Cullen, Solas, hell even IB seem more likely romance arcs than this guy.

 

Not trying to be mean, just saying don't get your hopes up, as you are likely to be disapointed.

Cullen is a confirmed romance.  Solas and Magical Tony Stark are very likely to be romances, too.  I don't think they are going tomake 4 full-fledged romances per gender.

I just wouldn't say something isn't going to happen until someone comes out and says officially it is not happening.  Or maybe that's me being super hopeful.

Sure, but depends on the type of character. Blackwall seems to me to be more 'selfless, greater good' type. Honestly he gives me a kind of Samara vibe. He doesn't seem the type to allow someone to fall in love with him, when he knows his death is just around the corner.

Blackwall seems to be a very 'duty-bound' and honourable character. However, the Tavern concept art implies that he's not averse to kicking back and joking with the rest of the group.
I think that my initial Inquisitor will get along quite well with him.

Someone has to survive, but it's not the role of the Grey Wardens to ensure that. It's the conceptual difference between a sword and a shield. A sword helps people survive by killing the enemy. But a sword is not a shield, and treating it like one to block every blow will see it break.

 

The role and importance of the Wardens isn't to be the shield to protect people: the Wardens are too few in number and their exceptional talents wasted in such a position. The role of the Wardens is to be the small, elite force that can get to the ArchDemon and kill it- protecting cities and towns and people from the Darkspawn until that point is the role of someone else.

 

If the Grey Wardens existed to defend the people, they wouldn't undergo the joining as a matter of course (and thus waste resources) nor would they limit their services as they do. The Grey Wardens exist to kill Darkspawn, which has the fortunate consequence of saving people the Darkspawn might otherwise kill.

You don't seem to grasp the pointlessness of a group of largely infertile people being the only group to survive a blight- they PROTECT the surface- they may do so by not trying to save everyone but they do try to save as many as they can without losing- becoming a Grey Warden is ensuring one more person exists to perhaps end the blight if they're nearby when the archdemon appears.

Keep in mind, Duncan met the Darkspawn in the field before the Arch Demon broke the surface- this is the act of a protector, not a blind sword.

I'm pretty sure you meant beard but I'm now making it my personal quest to track down a bear mount for Blackwall. A bear mount would suit him quite well, seeing as how he is one.

Spitroasted nugs don't splatter in nearly as satisfying a way as pickled nugs.

Even though I don't know pretty anything about the new game, I already have a headcanon how I will play it.

 

A Dalish Mage Femquisitor (possibly Knight-Enchanter) who despises humans, deals with demons and for whom the end justifies the means, meets Beardy McTaint. She is immediately attracted to him, but irritated about her feelings for a shemlen. So she avoids and sometimes mocks him. But the Beard reacts quite calm and wise, and takes it with humor. He does not even realize that this elf girl, half his age, desires him in dark sleepless nights.

 

When he feels his Calling coming near, the Inquisitor finally confesses her feelings for Feathers (in a rather harsh way). The surprised Warden rejects her since he knows there is no time left for love. As he sees the beforehand unbreakable, heartless Femquisitor cry for the first time, he is full of remorse. The next day, he visits the desperated Femquisitor in her room, with the goal just to comfort her, but suddenly...you all know what happens. 18+.

 

When Ser Bara leaves for his calling, he leaves a Femquisitor behind, who has learnt compassion, altruism and self-abandonment from him, and enjoys nothing more than sitting on his lap and braiding his beard. They spent just one night together, but it changed them both.

 

 

 

...endless hours of waiting for E3 news made me creative.
