No, I'm pretty sure it was the charms.

And that was a desire demon, not a hunger demon.

Blackwall together with Cassandra and Iron Bull are shaping up to be my favorite followers. Blackwall seems to be man who follows a code and gets the job done. He reminds me of Samara a lot with the whole "Resolve" thingy.

He should also be voiced by either Tom Hardy (with his Bane voice) or by the guy who plays Thorin Oakenshield.

Richard Armitage, and yes it wouldn't be a bad choice for a VA. I would totally expect a similar chorus scene as the 'Misty Mountais' in The Hobbit but with Blackwall instead, hoho.

Except both of them would probably be too expensive to hire as VA. Beter to use professional VA's like Steve Blum.

Thus far Blackwall's been compared to Wynn, Samara and Thane also known as "The Absent Mother", "The Mother On A Quest To Kill Her Own Daughter", and "The Emotionally Distant Father Who Abandoned His Son To Hunt Down His Wife's Killers"... Dear god I hope this guy doesn't have any children. I'd feel so sorry for them. Could be worse though, I suppose, he could have had children, as in, past tense.

Thorin Oakenshield is probably a little preoccupied being the star of a Hollywood Blockbuster, but the guy who plays Dwalin also has a wonderful voice, probably isn't as preoccupied, and has voice acted for Bioware before.

Don't believe BW would have real problems with hiring celebrity actors considering they have had the likes of Martin Sheen, Keith David, Yvonne Strahovski, and more.

Celebrity VA are fun and all, but I would be perfectly OK with having lesser kniwn actors doing the voice works for characters, since ultimately it comes down to how well they "deliver" the character and make him come alive.

Yvonne Strahovski doesn't even come close to fame compared to Tom Hardy or Richard Armitage. When she did ME 2, only people who watched Chuck knew who she was. Martin Sheen and Keith David a bit different ofcourse.

And as much as I love Tom Hardy as an actor, he has never done any VA work, so its probably not even guaranteed if he would do a great job as Blackwall.

Keith David isn't A-list or anything. He's one of those character actors who get a lot of work though.

Martin Sheen and Carrie Anne Moss seem like the biggest people they've got. edit: I guess Carrie Anne Moss hasn't done a lot either though. Just really well known for the Matrix.

All the people you've listed were for Mass Effect, Bioware's bigger and more successful franchise. Dragon Age is less well know/popular so they have less budget to hire big name actors, and less big name actors who would be interested in doing VA work due to being fans of the series (like Freddie Prince Junior).

I was surprised they got Tim Curry for DAO. To me, he's one of the coolest and well known actors. But they barely used him.

Probably because he's one of the coolest and well know actors. I think DG mentioned at some point that VA's were paid per session, they could probably only afford him for one or two sessions.

While Yvonne is not at the level of recognization as Hardy and Armitage, her networth still lies around 8 million $ (with Armitage around 13$ and mostly b/c of his role in The Hobbit) which still makes her quite an expense as a VA.

Different studios yes, but that doesn't exclude the possibility of gaining certain VA for them. They have their budget and if there is a need for additional cost for hiring a certain VA, it may be raised if EA (and whoever else involved) finds it necessary.

I'm sorry, but where was it ever stated that children of Wardens die young?

We've been told a warden's child will have the taint. So, if the taint only gives Mommy and Daddy twenty plus years to live wouldn't the same rule apply to the child. The lifespan of children born post joining has not really be stated. All we have been told is that wardens shouldn't try to have children after the joining. I take it as a "It ever ends happy" kind of thing.

Are you sure about that? Morrigan's child is untainted.

It's also an Old God so for all we know he could get run through fifty times, and still not die. I think the reason he is untainted is because his mother was not a warden. It might explain why there are so few women in the wardens. Other, than the fact a female warden is more likely to be turned into a Brood Mother than killed at the Calling.

Nope.

A Grey Warden can have a child... just not with another Grey Warden. So in the case of Alistair being married to a female PC the only possible result is no heir (unless Alistair has a child with someone other than his wife, I suppose). Grey Wardens have a limited chance of conception with a non-Grey Warden, but it does happen...and the child is not tainted in any fashion.

That is the exact quote by Mr. Gaider back on the old forums, warden children are born taint free and thus logically have normal lifespans. Wardens cannot have kids with fellow wardens unless magic is involved I presume.
