Way over on Shalta-Aroch. I'll give you a heads up if I make it over your way. I could use someone of your stature. For reasons. Hanging with an amputee and cramming meat down my throat. --Frank

It's nothing weird, promise.

Anika read the message, then chuckled as the mental picture swam into focus.... as it manifested the chuckle died away leaving her blinking rapidly. Then she shook her head to clear it and messaged him back.

FAO:Frank.

I'm heading to a place. Try and repair armor. Could be they can help with your finger situation. Can vouch for their work. If your interested follow my comm.

She paused and considered.

Bring your friend if you like. Kolme's place sounds like it would be interesting for them - Anika

Molly Hagen hadn't adjusted much to her current situation yet.  A part of her was still reeling from the rug she felt was pulled out from under her in her investigation.  People, not necessarily friends, but that she'd worked with for years.  Her C-Sec captain, in particular.  There was no going back now, or really going anywhere other than with Naleena.  The irony is that she was now at the Citadel, after being ordered back there by her superiors.  Someone might actually thought she changed her mind when they saw her name automatically pop up in arrivals at Central.  Nothing could be further from actuality.

Two message lights blinked on Molly's omni-tool and it took her a moment to realize she was now linked into the Spectre's team network.  She read the first one.

Frank...  Molly chuckled.

Then she read the second one.  Hagen put the two messages together to realize that the woman of stature was the woman she chased through the streets of Omega, and her name was Anika.  The question was whether she should catch up with Frank at Shalta-Aroch (she knew exactly where it was and never trusted the place), or with the tall woman.  Molly thought about Frank; he'd just eaten.  That made the decision easy for the detective, there was no other reason for Frank to stay where he was.

Molly followed the comm that Anika had replied with, anticipating she'd meet up with Frank there as well.

...Somewhere in the Terminus Systems

Gille Demos has both hands over her mouth, and was silent, though tears flowed from her eyes.  She forced back sobs that threatened to break forth, as she stared at the corpse of the young asari on the Prothean tablet in front of her.

“She is quite lovely, isn’t she?” Iyana inquired, standing on the other side of the tablet from Gille.  They were in an ancient Prothean chamber of the ruins that Gille had not seen before.  Iyana ran a gauntleted hand down the naked, unblemished form of the dead maiden who looked as if she was sleeping gently, if not for the small blade incision between her nape and the back of her skull.  Or the dried pool of purple blood that had spilled from her head.  “I have this impression…may I speculate, Gille?  I have this impression that she might have been one of your daughter’s friends.”

“You’re horrible,” Gille rasped.

“Please, I’ve heard it all.  A monster, a fiend…don’t flatter yourself with your insight.  Would I be other than I am if I had the power?  Surely.  But I am a force of nature, of creation and destruction, Shiva and Shakti in one form, if you will.  I know that last bit is lost on you, however, you are different, yes?  A protector.  A good person.  Sykeya Demos is your daughter, isn’t she?  You would make sure this does not happen to her, whatever it took.”

Gille’s eyes glared in terror at Iyana.  Her words were choked back in her throat for a moment, then she asked with dread, “What do you want of me?”

“Well, I already have your servitude,” Iyana mocked, “Though I haven’t quite decided what to call you yet:  advisor, console, servant, dispensator…all in time.  But what I desire is to know more about one of your family members who is not here.  Who is the trustee of considerable knowledge.  Knowledge that I seek, and that I wish to pass on.  She is a doctor, and a close associate tells me she even shares something of your wispy form.”

“I cannot control what she does,” Gille said, knowing full well who Iyana referred to.  Gille pleaded, “Please, you cannot hold it against me or my daughter if she does not give you what you want.”

A cruel smile broke across Iyana’s visage.  “I will not hold it against you or your daughter for another’s actions, but you are quite mistaken if you think I share your lack of ability to control.  What you will do for me is everything in your power to have us meet, and I will take it from there.  A small favor to ask for the benefit of your daughter’s life, isn’t it?”

“You will make me a traitor to my people.”  Gille’s tears could not stop.  “You will destroy all that I have built over my lifetime by doing this.”

“We went over this at the meeting,” Iyana scolded then laughed, “Gone is the future you had before me, mourn it not, etcetera, and etcetera.  If it makes you personally feel any better, you can always point out that these are extenuating circumstances.  Now let’s move on and talk about contacting your aunt the scientist.”

"Hitman? Geth Armatures?" Frank looked down at himself. "NOPE! I'm not dressed for any of that bullsh*t!" He checked at his omni-tool.

"F*** yeah!" He smiled.

[Be there ASAP.]

"Hey, I got a line on some new fingers." Frank motioned to Rachel's prosthetics. "Maybe they'll have something for you as well." He shrugged, before bolting out of the restaurant like a madman.

"Let's gooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Naleena walked past customs and onward to the mall area. There was a boutique nearby and she stopped in to do some shopping. New boots were on her mind, and a nice pair of black leather boots were in the window. Perfect, she thought. And a new leather coat. Ah, black, excellent stitching, floor length. Soft leather, too. Nice for more formal occasions....and I should get something for Anika. No clothes. Let her pick out her own..... There it is. A new holster. Perfect.

"Wrap up that holster and have it sent back to the Janiri," Naleena said to the Volus clerk behind the counter. "I'll be getting more."

"That will be 1700 credits. Drawn against an account or credit?" the volus merchant asked.

"I have the credits." Naleena replied.

"Thank you."

Naleena found a new black outfit, and took it, the coat and the boots into the dressing room to try on. The soft leather bodysuit fit tight to every curve and muscle of her body like it was made for her, long sleeve, v-cut in the neck down to the middle of her breast bone. She put on her boots, and then the thigh holster for her Carnifex, and put on the coat.

She walked out of the dressing room wearing them.

"*fffssssk* That will be 20,000 credits for the outfit, and I should say *ffffssssk* you look very good in that. We also have so many other outfits *ffsssk* here made of some very fine materials that you would look very good in as well. *ffssssk* Would you care to try them?”

“No thanks, I’ll stick with black leather.”

“Are you sure? *ffsssk* I can make you a very good deal.”

“Yes, I’m sure.”

“May I ask why?”

“It doesn’t show the blood as much,” Naleena said and handed him her old garments, “Would you have these cleaned, and repaired, and sent back to the Janiri addressed to my quarters?"

The volus noticed the bullet holes. "I see. *fffsssk* As you wish."

"Good day." Naleena said as she left, headed to Purgatory by taxi.

Purgatory was the largest club on the Citadel. Behind the glamor and the dancers, it was full of the usual crowd these mega clubs attracted: people out to have a good time, and those hoping to cash in on them one way or another. There were relationships that were in the beginning stages, and those past the end stages.   Somehow its owners managed to keep it off the Citadel registry, most likely for tax purposes. It is rumored that Aria T'loak is attempting to purchase the club, but club owners vehemently denied the rumor.

The taxi door closed behind her and she walked up to the club entrance. Outside was a young couple making out. Naleena smiled as she entered the club. She needed a drink, some time alone and away from all of the responsibility of being the Spectre. She wanted a moment to relive the old days when things were simpler. But she couldn't do that. Not even here. Because that's not who she was anymore. She headed over to the bar, and ordered a Serrice Ice Brandy.

A human couple behind her started having an argument. Apparently someone was paying a little too much attention to the dancers. Naleena just pulled a cigarette out of her case, lit it and watched, and the woman of the couple left abruptly. The man, about 5’10” tall with brown hair, walked up to the bar next to her.

“Did you see that? I don’t f*cking believe it,” he said, and the Salarian bartender walked over, “I’ll have a whiskey, and get my friend whatever she’s drinking.”

Naleena gave him a sideways glance. “You make assumptions, but thanks for the drink. Cigarette?”

The man refused and the Salarian bartender saw Naleena pulling one out. “This is a non-smoking establishment. Do you mind?”

“Yes, I do mind,” Naleena replied, but obviously a high roller was able to get away with it. The Salarian shook his head in disgust. She turned her attention to the human who had just bought her a drink. “So what was that all about?”

“I took a job here in the embassy. It was supposed to be for only a year, but I have an opportunity for travel now,” he said, “And all over the galaxy. Do you know what that means? Usually you don’t get that chance unless you’re military. But this? I would get to go to places like Palaven, Thessia, Cyone, Omega, Eden Prime. It’s a once in a lifetime offer and it’s for the government.”

Naleena took a drag from her cigarette and exhaled the smoke plume in the direction behind the bar. “So what is the problem?”

“I look at one dancer. You know how those Asari are. The way they move up on the stage. You can’t take your eyes off them,” he replied, shaking his head, “and she stomps off thinking I’ll cheat on her.”

Naleena slammed her down her drink and ordered two more: one for the herself and the man to whom she was speaking and smirked. “So you’re not trying to pick me up?”

“No. I’d like to know what you think I should do?”

Naleena raised her glass and the two drank their next shots. She took another drag off her cigarette, exhaled, and rolled the ashes off the end into her empty glass. “You haven’t heard the news, then. I just came from Omega. It’s trashed. I helped make it that way. And now I’m sitting in a bar listening to music I can’t stand, I’m armed, and I’m drinking. You don’t want advice from me, friend.”

“Then what are you doing here?”

“Watching,” Naleena said, “It’s a hobby of mine. Do you see that couple over there? They just met and are here on a date. The other couple nearby them is about to break up. Those marines at the table near us are on shore leave. But the person who intrigues me the most is the woman seated alone working on her laptop drinking coffee.”

“What about her?”

“People are avoiding her. Even the waitresses are giving her a wide berth except to take her orders,” Naleena replied. “That one is all business. She’s waiting for someone. Someone important. I’m curious to see who.”

“I should go back to my hotel and face the music,” the man said.

“Good luck,” Naleena replied, raised another glass and drank.

Anika stood outside the store front. Unlike the others, with their open facing customer service areas, this one had a proper door that had vertical length shutters running down inside the windows. A small slip sign said open inside the door as Anika reached out to push it ajar, ducking her head to avoid hitting the top of the frame as she did. Inside was the usual customer sales area others had pushed to be open air, except this one had a grey desk with a high backed leather chair behind it facing a terminal that showed images of ships. Quarian ships, Anika realised.

Well, points for seemingly being in the right place.

Also on the desk was a small, brass bell. A plunger sticking out of the top. Anika reached out and brought the palm of her hand down. The bell went off with a resounding chime that sustained inside the small office space when a door at the back opened. Anika looked up to see an average height Quarian standing in the doorway. Though clad in the traditional suit that marked the Quarian race he had added to it an oil stained apron and was tugging off similarly stained gloves as he looked her up and down. When he spoke his suits audio output did little to hide the sharp, gravelly voice that came from within the tinted visor.

"Ah. Judging from your size I dare say your here about a custom job. I'm sorry but I'm booked up. Try again next week or so and I'll.....".

"I came with a recommendation, actually". Anika interrupted, earning an annoyed cluck of the tongue from the Quarian.

"And who made the recommendation, may I ask"? He asked.

"Jess Stone..... I've been helping her with her..... maintenance issues....". The Quarian's features, masked though they were did nothing to indicate a shift in tone but almost immediately Anika could see him stand a little taller as his voice picked up. ".... Your Kolme I take it"?

"Indeed. Jess Stone.... Hard to forget that one. Came to me with that Rasgul fellow. Good man. All that tech those other....". He drew in a breath. "....expert's....". He drawled. "....Tried to marry together. Useless if you ask me. Certainly their inventions were inventive, dare say even creative as to addressing the problem at hand. But one look and I could tell they had gone for the bolt on option. Good if your in a hurry, but not when your trying to build a prosthetic arm that will serve as a flesh and blood one! Still, it took time to create. Art cannot be rushed after all. Only abandoned. Still I learned much from focusing on that little problem and after she left I went into a little bit of a side business and..... I'm sorry". He apoligised. "I liked those two very much. Tell me, how are they faring? Did they end up together"?

Anika tried not to look awkward. "Rasgul and Jess..... parted ways a while back".

Kolme sighed. "A shame.... Shame.... But you didn't come hear to hear me ramble on. Tell me.... What brought you to me on your friends recommendation"?

Anika explained what had happened to her armour. "I need it fixed fast. I've also got a comrade I was serving with who lost some fingers in line.... I was wondering, since you made Jess's arm, perhaps you could...."?

Kolme regarded her for a moment and then jerked his head back through the door. "Come with me. We'll see what we can do".

…on the Medusa

Babe exited the crawlspace without finding her quarry. She was in the passageway that led to the bridge, not far from an elevator.  The grime and dust of the maintenance area had gotten over her leather, and she tried to brush it off.  Annoyed as she realized it was helpless, she looked up when a shadow crossed her path.

A man with the build of a weightlifter, 1.9 meters tall, stood over Babe.  His black hair was long, and he wore high laced boots, fatigues for pants, and a tanktop that he pressed out against, all in black. Babe’s eyes went wide as she stared at his impassive face.

“Largo,” the man said.

“No doubt about it,” Babe answered, feeling stupid.

The man, still impassive, pulled a hand through his hair and swung it around.  Then he seemed to be waiting.

“Oh, that’s your name.”  Babe felt even more stupid.  “I’m Babe.  Well, that’s what everyone calls me.”

“You work out?”

Babe scrunched her face in curiosity.  “Suure?” she replied, uncertainly.

“You look like you work out.  We should go lift sometime.”

“Right.”  Babe was questioning if Largo was hitting on her, or really just didn’t think of much beyond his immediate thoughts.  She pulled out a grape blowpop from a pouch on her belt and put it in her mouth.  “Want one?” Babe asked with her mouth full.

“No.  Largo must go.”  Largo then made a quick nod and walked down the passageway past Babe.

“Okay….” Babe lingered on the word as she watched Largo leave, his long hair swaying as he went.

The woman Babe was chasing had clearly given her the slip.  For a second, Babe thought about going back into the maintenance crawlway since she was already dirty.  But with the bridge up ahead, it was probably better to at least let whoever was in the captain’s chair know what was going on.  Babe was hesitant, as always, to meet new faces, particularly many of them at once, but running into Largo left her disarmed and she felt maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all.  Babe walked to the open bridge hatch and peered in with just her head.  There was a good compliment of crew at their stations, something different from the last time she got a look at the place.  A woman at the helm seemed to stand out, then Babe saw the man at the communications station gawking at her.  Miffed, she turned her attention to the asari.

“Pardon me,” Babe said, interrupting the activity on the bridge.  She felt her discomfort rise as several heads turned her way, “But I’m still looking for that scientist.  I don’t think she’s really a threat but have any of you seen a short woman in light blue and white with a crazy expression wandering around anywhere?”

After several more dings of the little brass bell the back door opened and a Quarian in an oily apron emerged. "Yes yes yes yes, I heard you the first time"! He griped as he stepped forward. "Let see now.....". He paused and looked the pair who had entered the shop up and down.

The Quarian sighed. "My name is Kolme. And you two must be the ones your friend told me about.... Let me seeeeee". Kolme pulled off an oily glove and took hold of Franks hand. Examining it this way, then that.

"Hmmmm". He mused, looking at the damage. "Hmmmmmmm". He turned the hand over for a better look. "Hmmmmmmmmmmm".

Finally he let it go. "Not impossible.... There will be some surgery involved. Not my area I'm afraid. I deal with the cybernetics....". He looked between the two. "Come with me. Your friend's out back".

With that he turned and stepped back in through the door. A faint hum of machinery eminated from within as he passed through and from inside both Frank and Rachel could hear Kolme say. "Your friends are here.... Don't touch that"!

Molly Hagen wandered to the location of the store from the com.  She examined it from the outside for a while, noting that it hid its interior with angled vertical blinds.  The repeated ringing of a bell sounded from within.

Frank...

Hagen pulled the door open and entered.  "Frank Eli...," she began in an expectant tone, then she got a look at the woman standing next to him.

"Holy Moly!"

"**** em up!!" Vayne yelled as he stood within the circular observation area of the holographic match taking place below. The silversun strip offered a lot of services when it came to entertainment, and offer a bastion of gambling and gaming both for the more well to do members of the galaxy. One such attraction was the Armax Arsenel Arena, where people fought against VR enemies in training programs for fun, or more if they so choose.

Then, there was the Ariake Technologies battle sims, a similar concept where holograms did battle in matches people could place money on. An almost gladiatorial sport without actual organics getting in the way, and a show of VI and enviromental programing. It wasn't civilized, despite its place here, but it was the best bloodless blood sport one could find here on the citadel.

And it could be a lot of fun, or stress, depending on whether or not you put money down on the competitors. As the turian swordsman in blue light dodged the drell spearman and ran him through, sending the shimmering image shattering as the game was won, half the people cheered, the other half booed, and vayne scowled as he looked to the next match up.

Krogan Battlemaster vs Asari Commando was slated for the next match. Vayne smirked as he placed the next bet. 700 credits on his choice as he looked to watch the next match unfolding excitedly. He loved getting to watch others fight, it was so much less stressful.

A distance away, a man sat at a table, watching the krogans back as he slowly brought up and sipped on his drink. He had a scar from his lower lip to his chin, and a shaved head, and checked in on his omnitool every few minutes as he kept his eyes on vayne, without his knowledge.

At this particular establishment." Frank made a circular motion with his index finger. "Wait! Mols, are you following me?"

She's totally following me.

He nudged Rachel, and leaned in. "I think 'ol Mols might have a little thing for me. It's super creepy." He whispered, while glancing back up to Molly. "I'm totally fine with it though." He winked.

"Doesn't matter. I'm glad you're here, Mols. You remember Anika? She's already in the back touching things." Frank headed towards the industrial sounds that came from deeper within the store. "Come on, then!"

...at Kolme's Place

Slyly glancing from the intimidating woman with the friendly smile and Frank Eli, in a 'what exactly is going on here' kind of way, Molly took the woman's hand and said, "Detective Molly Hagen, pleased to meet you.  Frank and I have a bit of a history, short, but full of misunderstandings.  To answer your question, Eli, I actually came here looking for you and Eneeka...is that how you say her name?  As it turns out, I'm working with your Spectre now.  Special assignment, if you like the dramatic version, and I have this feeling that you will...."

Moly was next to the counter, about to lean on it with her elbow when she heard the words, "Don't touch that!"  The door to the back was opened and a quarian with an oil stained apron stepped through.  Hagen looked down at her elbow and realized she just missed a tiny  wire-frame sculpture of what was a Migrant Fleet research vessel.

"Sorry about that," Hagen apologized, stood up, and cleared her throat.

...on the Medusa

Babe saw the woman at the helm glance over and blush, which made Babe temporarily embarrassed herself, and for the woman.  "I don't have anything else to report...," she started.

Then Babe realized the woman was at the helm...

"Hey, I've been meaning to catch up with you!"  Babe jolted out of her thoughts and strode over to the pilot.  "Happy to meet ya!  We've got to get some things worked out.  With the guns.  And the maneuvering.  Were you the one on the stick when we went in at that ship?  I thought it was a...never mind.  What's important is we've got to set some things up around here.  Coordinate if you know what I mean."  Babe had been talking around her blowpop the whole time, and took a moment to savor it, before popping it out of her mouth and holding it with one hand.  With the other, she pointed to the pilot's station.  "There isn't any real time linking set up between your station and mine.  So I've had to do a fair bit of head math when we've come around to lay down some shots.  There's got to be a solution that isn't going to turn this panel into a hard light interface.  Who wants that, right?"

Yori jumpped a bit when Babe popped up next to her "well I'd be h-happy to take a look and see what I can do with the guns.. They may just need a aim assist Vi interface with an updated hardlight drive with omntool connectivity for easier aiming and repair."

Mostly unaware of the pilot's reaction, Babe sat against the panel and put her palms along it's edge.  She smiled at the thought of the old ship design, "Do you know I had to run cable, cable, to interface the GARDIAN system so it could be activated from one of the cannons?  To be fair, someone seems to have messed around with the inner workings and I don't think it was the current captain.  Still, an aim assist VI...it isn't ever going to be as good as putting the right hands on the controls...I'm sorry, I'm rambling.  My name's Babe, at least that's what everyone calls me.  And you are?"
