"So," Vayne asked curiously as he looked to irina, before looking down towards the arena, "Where's the asari..." He said as he looked away, lips pressed in concentration as he tapped his forehead to try and jog his memory, "Jan, Jenus! Where's your friend jenus?"

"Jenus? She's in the locker room getting ready for another match. She said something about winning a sh*tload of credits tonight," Irina said. "I just wanted to go to the casino and unwind. But now, I'll cheer her on. I'd expect nothing less from her... or you if I were down there."

...on the Medusa
Things were smelling quite good in the galley, if Babe didn't say so herself. She was wondering when the person in charge would stumble across them. The thought had her concerned momentarily again, but then she waived it away; no sane person would question it once they had a taste of what was being made!
Working with Yori was fun, and kept her mind off of things. Well, except for artillery, because...well, she never really stopped thinking about that for long. Babe threw a smile at Yori as she tossed a dirty pot into the sink casually, causing a rather loud clatter.

"Welp, I'm bored." Frank checked the time on his omni-tool. "I should go check on my pops. I haven't heard from him for awhile. Be back to talk about fingers and whatever later on."
"Ya'll got my info, in case you need to contact me. I'll be on Tayseri." Frank said, while leaving the back room.
He paused for a moment at the front desk. He quickly looked around, before grabbing the bell and sliding it into his jacket pocket.
Whistling innocently, he pushed open the front door, and stepped outside.

Armax Arsenal Arena
Jenus picked her holo-teammates: Iole and Irina. Hellbringer and Crazy-red. And they got Red doing her thing with the grenade on that Krogan. This is gonna be good. Time to clean up. I think we can handle Random Mercs Elites. I need to see how good this AI is.
Jenus stepped into the lift to the combat sim. When she arrived her two teammates materialized next to her. “IT’S COMBAT TIME IN THE ARMAX ARSENAL ARENA! THIS NEXT MATCH IS JENUS STASIA AGAINST ELITE MERCS.”
Vayne turned to Irina. “Hey, that’s you out there.”
“And Iole,” Irina replied. “And we’ll see how good this AI is.”
Jenus charged immediately into the first group of mercs that materialized, stunning all of them and then landing a nova.
“KILL STREAK!”
Irina’s hologram went down.
“Aw, come on! That’s bullsh1t! I never would have done that!” Irina protested and screamed. “JENUS, I’M DOWN.”
But Jenus didn’t care. She was tearing through the mercs, with her charges, novas, and other times just punching and kicking her enemies. What she wasn’t killing, Iole was tearing apart with the Hellbringer. The final tally in the match was 7568 pts. She was on top of the leader board.

Ereba and Shayrana were enjoying a quiet dinner in the sushi restaurant.
“This is lovely. You know, I’ve always wanted to come here,” Shayrana said smiling.
Ereba grinned. “Yeah, I’ve always wanted to take you here, too, but I’ve never had the credits. Winning that gold in the arena gave me 10000 CR. I told you we can make some serious money in there. Not lose it like in that stupid casino. We have the skills. We’re commandos.”
“But I like this. Just you and me together.”
“Hey, I’ve got an idea. We could really clean up in there. You know, maybe make enough for that new gene procedure for your condition so you don’t have to take those meds anymore,” Ereba said taking her hand. “I’d fight in there until I won enough money for you. You know that.”
“It’s expensive, and you’d be in there for an entire week. You’d be a wreck.”
“I don’t care as long as you’re well. And if I do well enough, I could attract a sponsor.” Ereba replied.
“Then you’d be obligated to fight regularly for entertainment.” Shayrana said. “They’d wear you out. You’d start taking PEDs to keep up. I don’t want to see you go that way.”
“I won’t. I’ll be careful. No one owns me,” Ereba said. “Well… maybe you do, babe. Hey, this sushi was perfectly delicious as is this company. Maybe I should check the scoreboard on my omni-tool.”
“Ereba!”
“Aw, come on… What? Who the fvck is this Jenus Stasia? She beat my score!” Ereba said. “I gotta go back.”
Shayrana sighed. “And here I thought we could have a nice quiet evening.”
“We will… after I kick her ass.”
**
Jenus had just claimed her prize at the kiosk, and was catching her breath. She walked over to Irina and Vayne. “Did you guys see that? I’m kicking ass.”
Irina gave her a dirty look. “You know you could have gotten me back up.”
“Red, that wasn’t you. If that was really you, I would have, but that’s just a hologram,” Jenus said. “I was looking at the clock. I wanted those bonus points. “
They heard a couple of Asari having a heated discussion behind them.
“Just hurry up and get this over with, then.” Shayrana said.
“Don’t worry, Shay. This will be quick. I promise.” Ereba said as she entered the locker room.
Ereba chose her loadout: her M-98 Widow, and Kassa Locust. Hmm… teammates. Ranassa and T. Can’t be beat.
Jenus saw an Asari with two squadmates enter the arena. “Get a load of this. It’s Asari night here. What the fvck? Is that another Hellbringer?”
“Looks that way, Jenus.” Irina replied.
“IT’S COMBAT TIME IN THE ARMAX ARSENAL ARENA! THE NEXT MATCH FEATURES EREBA DANRI AGAINST GETH ELITES. GOOD LUCK TO OUR CONTESTANT!”
Ereba saw where the Geth were spawning, cloaked and ran away. She directed her teammate to set up at points to funnel the Geth down a point where she could pick them off with her rifle.
“KILL STREAK!”
And the kill streaks piled up. At the end of the final round she directed Ranassa and T to set up a biotic detonation at the final group of Geth Destroyers. Ranassa dropped a warp in the middle of the group and she directed T to hit that one with a Flare while she killed the last one standing with her rifle.
“8360 Points for Ereba Danri. WE HAVE A NEW LEADER!”

"Whoa! Whoa, whoa...I am not staying behind before I get to talk to you Frank El-usive," Molly said as she followed him out. "I've been meaning to talk to you about something important."

...on the Medusa
"Yes!" Babe affirmed and shouted victory in the same word. "Okay, there is enough here to feed a lot more people than I anticipated. We can leave the rest, for someone else though. Let's eat! Hmmn, you know...I bet there's a couple of candles around here, and we can set up a nice supper. We'll need plates, utensils...drinks? You seem to be good at that. How about you nab those and I'll get the rest on the table and we can eat. And then we can share war stories over delicious pasta."

"Whoa! Whoa, whoa..."
S***. Busted.
Frank clutched the bell in his pocket.
"I am not staying behind before I get to talk to you Frank El-usive. I've been meaning to talk to you about something important"
Or not...
Frank turned around. "What's up, Mols?"

As Molly followed Frank out the door, she started to say, "Thing is I, well, I'll just break right into it. I'm with the Spectre for a very specific..."
*DING*
"..reason." Molly looked down at Frank's pocket then back at Frank. Her eyes narrowed. "I swear, you are the consummate child.
"All right, it's the whole encounter you had with Morgan, well that lead to this woman who he worked for when he was a shadow broker agent. This is my thing, this is my case, I've been working on it for years. It's crazy, but I've finally put two and two together, and would have been shut down by something...it's not important. Naleena's given me the go ahead I need, I've had to have to bring this woman in. Whatever or wherever she is. But I need to know everything, everything I can about her, about Morgan...I'll talk to him myself for his story...I've got the tapes of what happened. But I want to know if you would talk to me, if you can, about anything you might think is important about it all. Sure, facts that some omni-tool recording might have missed. But anything, really, about it that you think is important to tell."
Molly jammed her hands into her raincoat pockets. "I'm serious about this, Frank. I mean I like to joke around as much as the next person, but this is...well it's like I told you."

...on the Medusa
"It has to be, is what I said to myself," Babe rambled while telling her story to Yori, "It's either put me on the main or I wreck your cannons. This to an Alliance officer, no less!"
Babe was half way through her second bowl of pasta. One thing she had was an apetite, which a person might not find so surprising given how cut she was. It was clear the woman had a fitness regimen, and when she took a moment to stretch, she pressed out against her leathers. She was lost in the conversation, though, heedless of what reaction anyone might have to her stretching, or her wolfing down her food.
"So I'm ready for latrine duty, or some other bull like that. Instead, the guy laughs. Laughs! Seriously, the gal next to me, with me while I'm being all insubordinate, she almost passes out. But they put me on the main cannon of an Alliance dreadnought because I gave them lip. If you haven't seen one in action, MMMM!" Babe clenched both fists, and yanked her elbows back as if simulating the firing of cannons with her arms. "So sweet!
"That's why I'm not worried about it, anymore. I mean that was two years ago and since that last trip, where they had to bring the dreadnought in for a refit, which got me reassigned, it was awful. Sparing you the details here, Yori. We're heading somewhere, I'm sure. The Citadel, whatever, who cares? It's like I saw the Medusa and that was it; I was in. Your gun's got manual switches and buttons. You push them, it feels so good! Really, even better than the dreadnought cannons with a bit less boom, but I knew something was going down when we came on. I knew. When I had to get on that cannon and fire the three grapeshot salvos, it was pure thrill." Babe took a thumb and slowly wiped a bit of tomato sauce from the side of her lip and slowly into her mouth. She popped her thumb out with satisfaction and finished, "Swear I had afterglow."
Babe winked at Yori and giggled.

"I'll tell you what I know, Mols, but I doubt it's anything you haven't heard already. Here goes..."
"To be honest, I don't know much about Morgan Severn. Aside from missions, I may have spoken to him... three? Maybe four times?" Frank shrugged. "From what I can tell, he's a pretty stand-up guy. Iyana on the other hand…”
Frank pursed his lips.
“She’s a monster, Mols. I don’t know how else to put it.” Frank shifted a little. “The Medusa, Captain Stone’s ship? She took it over, and massacred the crew. She chopped them into pieces, Mols, and f*cking sent them to us. She is beyond f***ed in the head.”
He looked down, and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“And you know what? Thanks to that b*tch, so am I.” He looked back up. “The things I saw... that I did, while retaking that ship…” He paused. “I killed people, Molly.” His eyes began to tear up slightly.”I signed on as an engineer, not a goddamn commando!“
Frank took a deep breath, and wiped his eye.
“I can handle the hallucinations… but the nightmares?” Frank shook his head. “I can’t wait to see what they’re gonna be like in the next few weeks!” He ran his hands over his head, knocking off his hat in the process.
“We saved maybe three members of the crew, but at what cost?” Frank threw up his hands. “I hate myself for saying this, but we should have just blasted that son of a bitchin’ ship in half with the main gun, and killed her while we had the chance… Hard telling how many more people are going to die now…”
Frank sighed.
“I’m sorry, Mols. I really don’t want to talk about this anymore.” He checked his omni-tool. “I should go.”

"Okay."
Molly's head was spinning from Frank's reply and he was walking away.
We can take this woman down, Frank. I can do it. We can put away the nightmare's.
That's what Molly thought she wanted to add.
Instead she added, "I'm sorry."
Hagen's eyes stared blankly. She thought he was out of earshot, even though he wasn't, when she went on. "Every time I try to read you, I feel like I get it wrong. Except sometimes when I like what I see inside you..." The words trailed off and Molly turned her head away, feeling as if she'd gone numb somewhere she couldn't quite place.

Armax Arsenal Arena Pt 2
Jenus was not happy. “Fvck!! I gotta go back in. I can’t let this stand. Red, I need to borrow some credits to unlock a rocket launcher. I’ll pay you back next match. I promise.”
“Jenus.”
“Hey, you know I’m good for it. I’m going for super elites. I need that weapon.”
“I know that, Jenus. But I’ve seen this crap before.”
“Come on. Don’t you believe in me? Fvck man! A real friend would loan me the creds.” Jenus said.
“Okay, Jenus. This Asari is good. She uses tactics down there. If you’re gonna beat her, you’re gonna have to think and use some tactics to beat her time for a better bonus,” Irina said and transferred the credits to Jenus’ account.
“Screw that tactics bullsh1t! I can take her with pure skill. You won’t regret this, Red. I promise!”
Irina looked at Vayne and shook her head as the young Asari ran off to the kiosk. A few moments later they also heard the two Asari they heard earlier talking behind them again.
“Okay, now that you’ve proven yourself can we go, Ereba?”
“Yeah, we can go.”
“IT’S COMBAT TIME IN THE ARMAX ARSENAL ARENA. OUR NEXT MATCH FEATURES FORMER LEADER JENUS STASIA AGAINST MERCENARIES SUPER ELITES. GOOD LUCK TO OUR CONTESTANT!”
“Ha!” Vayne shouted. “This ought to be a real fight.”
Jenus had picked Iole and Irina again.
**
“Wait, Shay, I’ve got to see this.”
“You’re not going back in there if she wins.” Shayrana said.
“Yeah, okay, sure.” Ereba replied.
“Ereba!”
**
Jenus was on the Brimstone Map. This one had lava and was pretty open. No ramps.
Tactics? Okay, Red, we’ll do it your way this time. These bastards are tough. We’ll probably face their support first. And here they come.
The first two waves went like the others in her last match. She was ahead of herself on the clock. Jenus waited patiently for the last wave. A group spawned behind them.
“Fvck!” she shouted, and charged at them, and detonated a nova knocking them off their feet. She punched them and kicked them down, curb stomping the last one.
*Thud*
She heard it. And then another thud. Two Atlas mechs landed along with a large support group. There was an Asari sentinel and adept in the group. This was going to be tough.
She ordered “Iole” to work on the mechs while she and “Irina” worked on the group. She charged at the sentinel, and hit it with her nova. The sentinel detonated her tech armor staggering Jenus. Jenus had to charge again immediately to bring up her barrier, then she fired her shotgun at the sentinel at point blank range. The sentinel was hurt badly. The enemy group was converging on them. She instructed Irina to drop a couple of frags in the middle where they were standing. Jenus charged the mech “Iole was working on to get out of the blast radius. The enemy group went down. So did Irina. She fired her shotgun at the mech several times, charged again, and nova. Iole dropped a warp on the mech. Jenus charged it one last time and rolled out of the way as it exploded.
This left one last mech. Iole hit it with her Hellbringer and Jenus used her rocket launcher to finish it off.
“WE HAVE A WINNER! JENUS STASIA WITH 9953 POINTS!”
Jenus put her fists up in the air in victory and turned around as the crowd cheered. Then she left the arena and returned to Irina.
“Congratulations!” Irina said. “Great match! Just remember that in real life I’m not going to drop grenades like that.”
“No sweat, Red. What did I tell ya?” Jenus asked. “I told you I’d win. No big deal. Here’s your credits.”
**
“No fvcking way!” Ereba shouted. “Shay, I can’t let this stand. You know that. I can beat this score.”
“Ereba, let it go.”
“I… I can’t do that,” she replied. “You know I can’t do that. One more match. If I fail, we’ll leave. If I win, we’ll leave. I swear to fvcking Athame this is it. And I’ll put all the money in a special account.”
“Now you’re fighting dirty.”
“You bet I am.”
“Okay, go on in,” Shay said and kissed her. “And win.”
**
Ereba punched in her selection: Geth Super Elites… special. Blastoid Map. No Medi-gel. Enemy damage boost. Teammates: Ranassa and T. I’ll have to tell them I used them later. Best damned teammates a girl could have.
She entered the arena.
“IT’S COMBAT TIME IN THE ARMAX ARSENAL ARENA. We have a special treat for you tonight as Ereba Danri faces off against Geth Super Elites. All proceeds for this fight go to Search for a Cure Foundation.”
Jenus took a look down and then turned to Irina. “I don’t fvcking believe this. She’s gonna try it? She thinks she can win?”
An asari a couple seats down heard Jenus turned. “She’s going to win.”
“And what makes you so sure?” Jenus asked.
“I kissed her for luck.”
“I kissed her for luck.” Jenus repeated in a mocking tone to Irina. “This I gotta see.”
The first wave spawned. It was quite routine with the team taking them down in the usual time with a long kill streak. The second wave, Ereba ran to help T back up after she was downed by an hunter she didn’t see. But they finished off the wave in reasonable time, again with multiple long kill streaks.
Then the third wave spawned. Ereba ran to the vantage point she had picked out and had T and Ranassa set up defensive points. This was going to be the tough one. The Geth Primes spawned early. Three of them were coming at their position. Ranassa laid into them with the Hellbringer, and Ereba had her and T set up for biotic attacks again. But then the Colossus spawned and began firing on their position. Time was running out. Ranassa went down. Where the fvck is that thing? She checked her omni-tool, found the Hydra on the map, cloaked and ran for it. She tapped the underside of the cover and a panel opened.
The Colossus saw her and began firing at her. T was also getting overwhelmed and had to retreat. Ranassa was still crawling but the counter was running on her. Ereba cloaked again, popped out of cover, aimed at the Colossus with the Hydra and fired.
Direct hit. Sparks flew from the Colossus and it exploded. She tossed the Hydra aside drew her Locust and started firing it at the remaining geth. She made it to Ranassa and revived her. The three finished off the Geth in under 5 minutes.
Jenus’ jaw hit the floor. “She cheated! She fvcking cheated! Did you see that? She cheated!”
“WE HAVE A WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: EREBA DANRI 10,000 points! EREBA DANRI broke the scoreboard! Congratulations!”
Ereba waved to the crowd, and then came up the stairs. Jenus met her at the top of the stairs. Vayne, Irina and Shayrana were watching.
“You cheated! I don’t believe this,” Jenus said, “I don’t fvcking believe this. You cheated. How did you sneak that thing in there?”
Ereba didn’t take kindly to the accusations. “First off assh01e, I didn’t cheat. Second, if you trade in three gold prizes you used to be able to get a platinum prize. I had this from just before they did the reset. And second, I don’t cheat, and you’d better take that back.”
“Or what?” Jenus asked.
Ereba reared back with her head and slammed it into Jenus’.
“Ow! Fvck!” Jenus shouted and began rubbing her head.
Irina and Shayrana went over to separate the two.
“That’s the first time I saw an Asari start to go blood rage,” Vayne laughed.
Then Ereba started calming down. “Sorry, I… didn’t mean to get all… like that. My dad is Krogan. They say we don’t get anything from our father’s side of the family. I say that’s a load of crap. No hard feelings….” Ereba extended her hand.
Jenus didn’t take it. “Jenus… Jenus Stasia. Remember that name Ereba Danri. But aside from your cheating at the end, you’re good. Where did you learn to fight?”
“Sanves with the Commandos. Then they put me with Artemis Platoon,” Ereba replied.
“That bunch of screw ups?” Jenus laughed.
“Not all of us are screw ups. We have some damned good fighters in there,” Ereba said with vehemence. “The platoon just needs a strong leader. What about you? If you know about Artemis, you’re obviously a commando.”
“I like your fire, commando. I trained on Thessia. Serrice, although technically not part of the guard, I had one of their trainers,” Jenus bragged. “I’m stationed on the Janiri under Spectre T’sarius. Our leader got seriously wounded in a firefight on our last mission, so I’m fire team leader now.
“Well, since you broke the scoreboard, and they closed down the arena for the night, I can’t go back in and beat your score, so you’re going to get off easy this time,” Jenus continued. “Next time I won’t go so easy on you.”
“Jenus, come on, let’s get out of here before you make her go blood rage again,” Irina said and she, Jenus, and Vayne left.
Shayrana approached Ereba. “So are you finally finished? Can we go back to the hotel?”
“Yes, we can go back to the hotel.” Ereba said.

Through out the entire time Babe was telling her stories Yori couldnt help but have a Slight pink tint in her cheeks.
"Heh.. I dont know if my stories are anywhere as good as yours are Babe." She scratched the back of her head "But I do have a Good story when I was still in flight school on the citadel." she leaned back in her seat from finishing her own second bowl, "So starting off It is right when I transfered over to the Alliance Navy...[half hour later]... And So right at the final simulation on the Flight test For the dogfight I was the only one left in the Simulation on my squad or team what ever you want to call it, And These Four Big shot Snobs fly in thinking That I am just some helpless girl and just before it came to them they where All wiped out From debris form one of their own dreadnoughts that 'I' Took out single highhandedly. And after the Sim was over the Instructor had to call C-sec because the Snobs where trying to bribe the teacher to have them pass on the Final Exam. Ahhhh Happy Times." She chuckled to her self "Hell I even got a Real Solid plaque For just surviving that long the Sim And Not many do I was told. Heheh My dad Hangs it on the wall of Awards he got in his Military Career, and well other wise."

Babe was humored and relaxed. She kicked her feet up on a corner of the table, one foot over the other, and pushed back in her chair so it was only on two legs. Babe then grabbed half a loaf of Italian bread (the real thing, no less, and not a fabricated protein substitute), tore off a piece with one hand and tossed it in her mouth. "I love when people who deserve it get it stuck to them! Got to tell you, you're one of the pleasant surprises on this ship, Yori." Babe chewed some. "Really, I am pretty surprised someone would find you some sort of 'helpless girl'."

“Don’t try so hard.” Frank stopped.“Even I have trouble reading me sometimes.” He glanced back over his shoulder. “See you around, Mols.” He continued walking.
After a few steps, a hand touched at the top of his head. He stopped again, and pivoted 180 degrees. With downcast eyes, he returned to his original position in front of Molly.
“Forgot my hat.” Frank sniffed, before bending down and picking it up. He gently placed it upon his head, and canted it slightly. He looked up at Molly and shrugged his shoulders. “See you around, Mols?” He forced a smile, before turning back around.

As discussion went on between Molly and Frank, Kolme had gestured Anika and Rachel over to a bench. "Now pay attention". He said in clipped professional tones. "Modern day articulation takes two forms. Endo, can refer to implants or to the more extreme, complete replacement of a body part. And then there is Exo. Such as a suit of armour that uses a form of powered articulation to assist you in carrying extra weight, or lifting heavy objects".
"I don't need strength enhancement". Anika interjected.
Kolme looked over to her with an annoyed air. "If you'll let me finish.... In the case of your friend there.... if he wants something that he can use now then he'll require something in between". He reached down and took hold of a three flingered articulated piece that had been resting there. "The problem with robotics is balance..... We have the abiltiy to make and build prosthetics that are hardier than the actual body. Without careful attention to how an appendage couples to the body it's possible that a prosthetic would allow the user to hurt themselves....". He turned to Anika. "....Your captains arm is no stronger or weaker than a regualr arm by design. If the biosynth muscle within allowed her greater strength than that she was used to then the point where the arm connects to her body would be placed under greater stress and potentially cause greater damage over the time she uses it....". He lifted the hand. ".... However, since the hand she has is fully synthetic, I was able to give her greater crushing power with her grip. The stress factor to the body doesn't apply since the forearm, where the force is generated, is likewise artifical. Now... Mr Frank has not lost his whole hand, which is good since it means that his natural finger's will still possess his natural tactile touch sensation that every engineer requires in his work.... Therefore what I suggest, for the time being, is less of an intensive surgical graft and more of a glove. Or guantlet. Something that will give him back the finger's he will require. A glove will be just for adding the extra fingers of couse since it will be a fairly small construction. However, a gauntlet would allow for..... other options to become available..... Fortunately I have some human designed finger parts in store and could easily build up an interface to allow it to work with your hand..... barring some calibrations, it could be ready in..... a few hours. A gauntlet on the other hand..... I'm sorry to say the gauntlet won't look anything like a natural hand. It will be bigger and three fingered. A standard Quarian engineer prosthetic. I can modify the interior to make room for your remaining fingers while leaving the bottom digit fully robotic.... Mr Frank...... Mr Frank?". Kolme watched as Frank starting walking back to the lift, hat in hand. "Do pay attention Mr Frank! I'm about to offer you a very versitile, potentially very dangerous device I would otherwise not be offering had you not said you have an engineering background! The glove would be safe of course but the Gauntlet? Most Quarians who lose a hand modify them to house engineering tools. One even housed a cutting laser! Like I said, potentially dangerous..... but the options it provides..... well, those will be completely up to you".
Kolme then looked up at Rachel. "I must say also..... someone obviously put a lot of work into you.... Tell me, do you require much maintenance to remain at your peak"?

...on the Medusa
Babe nodded and smiled, “I don’t mean to be too forward, but…”
A call in a tenor voice from the entrance to the galley interrupted Babe mid-sentence, “Hey, what’s smelling so good in here?....whhuuuuu….” The words trailed off in a long, dumbfounded drawl. Two figures were at the entrance, one a volus in a yellow-green suit and the other a man, perhaps barely twenty, with blue hair flopping over his face and delicate features, who stood with his mouth open, staring at Babe.
Babe looked away from the man and busied herself by pulling out another blowpop and putting it in her mouth.
The man still hadn’t said anything by then, so the Volus spoke up, “Sorry about my partner’s manners. I’m Miss Dila and this.. is Mister Charles. We came by when my hungry partner here smelled something delectable. And now that he’s seen something else delectable, pardon me saying so directly, he just can’t believe his luck.”
“That there is true,” Mister Charles said, recovering verbally from his shock, but not mentally as he kept staring, though his eyes did wander back and forth between Babe and Yori now. “Your fault for looking so good, you two. But I do apologize…my goodness!”
“What is that cooking that I even admit is enticing to the olfactory senses?”
Babe motioned with her hand to the pasta. “A collaborative effort. Rigatoni and sauce. There’s plenty left if you want to dig in. Maybe in return you could do the dishes?”
Mister Charles was waving his hand over himself. “You’re still going to have to give me a minute to recover, you two superstars! But I can say that if we may partake in your excellent meal, we’d be happy to clean up! Humble beginnings for me, I will have you know, in restaurants, and I am well trained in cleaning up.” He then took a look around the room, finally taking in all the checkered table cloths and china. “Somebody here has quite a taste for the…well…quaint? I see you two have done your part in setting this dollhouse on its ear a bit.”
With a smile, Babe said to Yori. “That’s handy! We can get going and if you want, I’ll take you around to the ship’s hard points, at least the ones I’ve found, which I think is most of them. I’ll get a sense of whatever you can offer and since I’m right there, I can get my hands on the equipment myself and rig anything I have to.”
Miss Dila said, “You two run along and have fun. We’ll take it from here, sweeties.”
Babe looked to Yori. “What do you say?"

...at Kolme's
Molly didn't have any rational idea what it was about, but she just had the thought of reaching out and grabbing Frank and telling him something, but she didn't know what. There was a burning sensation in her cheeks at the embarrassment of her own inability to figure herself out or act in the moment, so what happened was Molly stood there watching Frank leave, doing nothing until he was gone.
Then her rationalization kicked in. "This job sucks sometimes," she said aloud, "Sometimes it sucks a lot."
Hagen turned back to where the others were talking shop. She'd have to ask Anika the same routine kinds of questions if she wanted to keep uncovering everything she could. Molly stepped up quietly next to Anika and the woman in the hulking suit whose name she still did not know. Her cheeks were still red as she watched Kolme explaining the finer details of his work. Molly only pretended to listen, as her head was abuzz.

Irina left the arena with Vayne and they headed to the taxi stand. "You know, Vayne, I was serious about getting some work done. I'm not getting any younger. Aria gave us enough to buy a suit of armor, and I just made 10000 CR plus I have money from our Caleston mission, and 10000 in savings. I was checking the extranet and while I'd like to get a bone weave, they say I need to get skin weaves first. Something about how the skin weaves help deliver the synthetic fibers to the bones more easily during the second procedure. The fully monty of skin weaves runs 75,000 CR. They do the procedure at Huerta. I scheduled an appointment with a Dr. Michel. She had a cancellation for tomorrow."
Vayne looked a little funny at her.
"Vayne, look at it this way. I gain a little Krogan regeneration, and become a little harder to hurt and kill," she said. "So what if it's synthetic? It's like having thicker armor except it's in my skin. They say no one will even feel it to the touch. It's that good."

…At Kolme’s
“Ditch?” Molly shook her head. “I don’t think so…” She saw the woman with Anika hold out her hand again to shake, and Molly took the offer. “I’m sorry, like I said, I’m Molly. I haven’t run into you before as one of the people on the Janiri. What’s your name?”

…outside of Armax Arsenal Arena
“Oh void take me I am in so much trouble!” Jenus burst out, wide-eyed. She told Irina and Vayne quickly, “I’m so sorry, I’ve got to go! I’ll make it up to you later, Red!” Then she ran off in a sprint for the nearest transit system cab.
Jenus wasn’t really thinking if Irina, or Vayne for that matter, wanted to come with her. It was an instinctual reaction, that she was going to see her squad mate of three decades…someone she’d been serving with almost as long as Irina had been alive. Jenus didn’t put a lot of thought into things sometimes, which was why not only didn’t she ask either of the two, but she was also late for seeing Mira off at Huerta with Iole and Tallis.
It didn’t help that she had put in a full press with the Arena, but determination was a big thing with Jenus and she pushed herself until she got to the taxi, and ran up to the entrance, where she was forced to slow down by security and to avoid causing panic (or she would have run straight to Mira). At least three times, Jenus rudely shoved the Spectre associate clearance, provided to her indirectly by Naleena, into the face of whomever she needed to get up to see her companion. When Jenus arrived unceremoniously at the door to Mira’s room, Mira was resting quietly but awake, propped up in a hospital bed. Standing on either side of her were Tallis and Iole.
“Late. Late,” Tallis scorned.
“Jenus…,” Iole said as she shook her head.
Mira, though, smiled. “Did you think I’d already left?”
“Stop busting my t*ts,” Jenus replied defensively, “I made a mistake.”
“Not your first…,” Iole teased.
“As the new team leader, I order you to shut your trap, Goldie,” Jenus snapped. Iole snickered, but Jenus didn’t respond again. She wiped the sweat off her brow and stepped closer to Mira on Tallis’ side of the bed. “Textbrain, it isn’t going to be the same without you.”
“True, true,” Tallis agreed.
Mira’s smile broadened. “I won’t tell anyone you said such nice things. We wouldn’t want the enemy to get the wrong idea.”
“Affirmative on that, Textbrain.”
Mira chuckled, but stopped as something bothered her in the wound where her arm had been attached. She couldn’t help but turn her eyes to it, then said, “I think it’s ridiculous, the expense of growing an arm…it is so costly. And they are only doing it because I’m in the military. There are so many more people who need it and can’t afford it. If they gave me a choice, I’d easily go for a prosthetic. I could get by.”
“That’s just the typical you talking, Mira,” Iole said.
“I’m serious. Aside from the medical work, I’ll have to have months of therapy, not to mention the training…the re-training to get it up to our level again. It isn’t as if we’re just trying to get me to push buttons on an omni-tool again. And they say it won’t come back quick…your body has to learn again all the basics and associate it with the brain…”
“Martyr to the end, Textbrain.”
Mira stopped, and looked at Jenus in surprise. She gently nodded. “Maybe.” After a pause, she told Iole and Tallis, “Would you two leave Jenus and I to have a moment to ourselves, please?”
“Come on, Tallis,” Iole said. “We’ll get something to eat and sneak a bit back up to you. Hospital food is awful.” Both Iole and Tallis gave Mira friendly pecks on the cheeks and headed out of the room.
“Everything’s going to be fine, Textbrain. You didn’t have to send them out…except maybe I can tell you all about this Arena match I was in…”
“Jenus,” Mira said with intent enough to get Jenus to stop talking. “I’m going to be gone in an hour. Transport is picking me up and once I’ve left, communication won’t be the same. I certainly won’t be able to talk to you face to face. So come here and look at me.”
Not one to adjust to command, even with Mira, Jenus felt oddly shamed and did as she was told. She stared at Mira’s plain but beautiful face with her dark eyes. “I’m sorry about what happened in Afterlife,” Jenus actually fumbled to say, “If I were looking out for you, like I was supposed to…”
Mira put a finger to her own lips, silencing Jenus again. When she was still, Mira said, “You and I are very different people, but we do share some things together, and one is our love and devotion to our team.”
“…I wouldn’t call it love…”
“Shush. I will tell you if you search yourself, when no one else is around, that is exactly what you call it. You and I, Iole and Tallis, we are inseparable in our bond. And now I’m leaving, which leaves that bond we’ve had for decades changed. Until I come back, it is like we’re losing a part of each other that will be hard, if not impossible, to fill. If we don’t allow it to be.”
Jenus’ head dropped, “Mira, I’m not sure I’m ready for this. I’m not the patient one.”
“I trust you, and that somehow it will all turn out,” Mira comforted, and took her one hand to place it on Jenus’ shoulder, near her neck. She gently shook the vanguard, and pressed her shoulder firmly with her fingers, before letting her hand slide off with a caress. “That’s what I want you to know while I am gone. You’ll have to learn, Jenus. You’ll have to find a way to be me while I am gone. Even if me is, well, not you.”
Jenus bit her lower lip in frustration. “You come on back quick because I’m not good at this.”
“I will. But it’s time for both of us to become something more. I’m going to be challenged through my recovery. I’m going to need to remember you, and your furious, unrelenting tenacity when I’m reaching my limits with my treatment. So you can rest assured I’ll be thinking of you too.”
“Yes, but that’s you, Mira,” Jenus said almost pleading, “You’re the one who could always handle it all.”
Mira’s eyes welled up, as she tilted her head and laughed. “I’m going to have to listen to you instead of going by what I think of myself, if that’s the case. If you can, see yourself in my eyes at the same time. Do I think you can do this?”
Jenus’ lip quivered slightly. “Yes.”
“Then you can.”
Jenus’ own eyes watered. Then she snorted a chuckle of her own. “If you make me cry, I’m going to punch you in your shoulder. The bad one.”
Both the asari then started sniggering hysterically together.
