Dahlia rolled her eyes. "Do we have to stay in this s***hole? It stinks of vorcha ****** in here!"
"Morgan, this glass...," Naleena held it up to the dim light, "still has greasy finger prints on it."
Dahlia rolled her eyes. "Do we have to stay in this s***hole? It stinks of vorcha ****** in here!"
"Morgan, this glass...," Naleena held it up to the dim light, "still has greasy finger prints on it."
Morgan raised an eyebrow at the young asari's complaining. His first impression of her might have been wrong.
Then he realized he didn't even know she was with Naleena until now.
Morgan took the shot glass from Naleena and held it up, noticing she was correct about the greasy finger prints. He traded her for one of his own, and downed the shot with the finger prints.
"The alcohol," Morgan assured her, "It sterilizes everything."
Vayne thought a moment before he answered, "Why the heck not? Been a while since I bar...hopped..." he said as he looked at morgan curiously, "The heck is he going?" he said aloud as he and the others followed him.
Vayne followed along, getting more and more glad he was in his armor the farther they all traveled. They were going into old omega at this point, and there weren't many good things in old omega for those not looking for a good bad time. "Uhh, morgan? You know what you doing?" he asked as morgan seemed to ignore him, heading towards some place called, of all things, "B-A-D's".
"That ambrosia place sounded pretty good ya know. We could head there still. Probably not that far away and he's ordering a drink, isn't he?" Vayne said as he saw morgan go right into the sh-, the dive hole and take a seat right at the bar. His head looked up at the music, arching a brow as he frowned, "Ugh, I hate Gyanga." he said, recognizing the almost fossolisic pop song. Even a century ago she was on her way now, and hearing it now, made him want to gouge out his ear.
Deciding being drunk was better then listening to this, he walked up to the bar and looked the salarian in the eye, "You got any Krogan Ale? Maybe batarian?" he asked, wanting something strong if he was going to be hanging out here. He looked at morgan with a raised brow, before looking back to the salarian, "You better give me a clean glass..." he said, the salarian merely twitching a bit as he got the drinks made, vayne unsure if the bartender was even there enough to have heard him.
Eteon quirked a brow at the statement but took a seat nonetheless. Her eyes traced a long the dive (which looked like it had made its way through to the literal bottom of the barrel) and found that she really... Really, thought this was what all of Omega looked like. Before she actually got to see it of course, but she still had the image in her head. The bar was omega-y and based on their current port, that was OK.
She didn't plan on actually consuming anything because like hell she was going to come in contact with whatever touched the food or tables here but she would enjoy the unique atmosphere for what it was. A thing to file away and recall during a 'well it could be worse' scenario.
"I'm tagging along but I think I'll pass on drinking for now. Not that I'm too picky, more along the lines of 'someone has to drag people home'. DD and all of that." She waved a taloned hand. She hoped Krogan constitution was as good as it was rumored to be, that would be one unmovable drunk.
'Twitch' the salarian, was pouring a glass of cheap batarian ale when the krogan in front of him threatened him about having a clean glass. The salarian looked at him in his one eye, gulped heavily, and then handed the krogan the bottle.
Meanwhile, Morgan saw Eteon decline the shot, so he put his hand on the table, next to her glass, and used one finger to push it closer to Jess.
Jess followed Morgan throughout the ship, till me departed the ship. Then found herself following him through Omega. The whole time he was monosyballic to such a degree that Jess considered maybe returning him to Medical.
Then again, with a clearly deranged and probably running from the law Asari, for one reason or another, maybe he just needed to blow off stress the old fashioned way.
Eventually, after Morgan arrived at a bar with a motley ensemble trailing behind him, he stopped and looked up at the facade of the exterior with something akin to relief in his eyes.
"Yes"!
As he walked inside, Jess looked up at his choice of venue. Sleazy, downtrodden, decadent....... Anika would hate it, she thought as she keyed her comm and dialled Anika's id in.
"Luv, Change of plans. Get your backside down my location and bring a medical kit. It's going to be one of those nights".
"Are you alright"? Came the worried reply.
Jess looked up at the bar, saw the interior through the flapping door as patron's went in and out. "Not if the evening goes how I hope". She said. Signing off she walked inside and was just in time to see Morgan order drink's. Snagging one she raised the glass. "Cheer's to the man of the hour"! She called out to those who had joined them. "The man who saved my arse and by extention, the lotta you"!
As she knocked her drink back she heard a rustle and looked down to see Morgan pushing Naleena's glass towards her. Cehcking to see if it was alright with her Jess snatched it up. "You guy's know how to get on my good side". She said grinning before noticing Eteon was likewise forgoing drinks. "Oh c'mon luv. You passed up drinks on the Medusa. Now here"! She sighed. "I've never known a soldier who was was militant about going tea total"!
Knocking back Naleena's glas she set it down on the table with a thud and smacked her lips together before looking over at the bar. "Anyone want anything before I show the juice shooters how to really make a drink"!
Naleena was watching how many shots Morgan was downing and leaned over to Eteon. "That makes six. It won't be long now. Just keep them coming for him. We'll carry him back to the ship to his quarters and he'll sleep it off. And then we can go where Dahlia suggests. It's a very nice upscale place."
She pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
"Much obliged." Vayne said with a nod as he took the bottle, going towards their table when he saw how unsturdy it was, pulling a chair from one of the other talbes instead and taking a seat that way.
"So morgan...you feeling better?" he asked, taking a look at him as he took a swing of the ale, taking a gulp before he set the bottle back down, taking a moment before he held out his hand for one of their glasses, motioning for them to hand it over. His face didn't look to happy as he motioned for them, looking like it had permanently stuck in a frown.
As he got his empty glass, he brought it up to his mouth and spat out the ale into it, setting it down next to the ale. "That...was truly horrific." he said as he wiped his mouth, not looking like he wanted to elaborate more then that. He stood up and walked over towards morgan, as he got one of his normal shots, "Have to get the taste out somehow." he said as he downed the shot, swishing it in his mouth a bit before he swallowed, and letting out a sigh of relief. He looked at the shot curiously,
"Not bad." was his only comment as he went back to his seat, raising the glass still in his hand to toast morgan with jess.
Naleena leaned to Vayne. "Stay steady, we're going to need your help carrying Morgan back to the ship..... soon."
Vayne gave a looke to naleena, chuckling a bit at the question. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. I've a high tolerance for this kind of thing, and normal grade liqueur never did much but get me a little buzzed. Still got to hand it to morgan though." he said as he looked around, "Picked a heck of a place. Very...homey."
"You would have liked Ambrosia, too. They've even got ryncol. What's the name of that brand Aria keeps around for Patriarch? Neutrino," Dahlia said, smiling at Vayne.
"Homey like the sole of your shoe after trudging through mud." Eteon said lightly, her tone teasing as she scanned the establishment. She shrugged shortly after. "But to each their own. If the man likes his dives he can get as wet as he wants." She looked to their motly group and shook her head. Seeing Jess throw back the shots was in character and she let her mind wander for a bit with the silly things she could imagine the captain doing under the influence. She chuckled under her breath and smiled, looking up to the ceiling. These people... heh.
"Ambrosia?" She spoke up and turned in her seat to look at the Krogan and Asari. "That name... Is..." She took pause and tried to think of a good word. "Very Asari." She made a clicking noise with her mandibles. "No offense, just..." She waved her hand. "Ignore me."
Jess huffed as she returned and heard what Dahlia said. "Nice stuff. If you like drinking something that'll strip the lining of your stomach out. Knew a crewman of a ship who drunk a shot of it for a bet. Human. Had to be taken to whatever passed for the hospital to have his stomach pumped". She dropped a tray of glasses with something shimmering and blue in it. "Now this is more for us folk who don't have a spare organ or two on hand while the other one regenerates. Mixed myself. And took time to find the decent glassware". She waved her hands before the drink's with a flourish. "Help yourselves luvs"!
Likely to Naleena’s chagrin, drinking was one of Morgan’s forte’s. It was to Morgan’s chagrin as well, though for different reasons. Six shots was good to get him buzzed, but a long, long way from getting him off his feet. He thought he heard something about a move to a nicer bar with better alcohol and waved it off; these people wouldn’t understand the problems he had with the nicer places, and what they reminded him of.
Morgan had raised a glass to Jess’ toast, but his response was delayed. He got around to giving giving her a glance. “I wouldn’t be the proud owner of something I wanted to get rid of, if it wasn’t for you. Though these are the kinds of problems I tend to wish I had.”
“Yes, I’m feeling better,” Morgan then answered Vayne. “I’m wondering where Androkan is going to lead us to next, and if it involves more killing.” Too much, Morgan said to himself, before he reeled back his comment. “Not that he enjoys that sort of thing.”
Naleena and Dahlia looked like they wouldn’t last. Maybe Eteon would, but she too looked like she wasn’t suited to the kind of exchange that was coming. Morgan turned back to Stone. “I hear that pirate captains are more than capable of holding their fair share of liquor, speaking of shares. But, Captain Jess, if you ask me, I think that’s a lot of horses**t, don’t you?”
"Share's or holding liquer"? Jess asked with a sly look. "If it's share's then ask yourself this...... Whose left to claim the ship? If it was human or Asari the respective government's would stake their claim and I'd just sell it back to them with a salvage fee. With that ship, since there is no government to stake a claim it's a free for all up for grabs. And we grabbed it".
"Neutrino? I'd probably go broke drinking that stuff." vayne said with a laugh, almost stunned to hear the patriarchs on call brand. "Aria certainly has a lot more care for the patriarch then he had for his own prizes..." vayne said with a contented sigh, "There was this one turian once, used to run this station before the patriarch and his battle masters came to clean house. And he..." he stopped as he gave a chuckle, hearing etons joke. "Maybe another time, I'll tell that story..." he said as he leaned back, "Not really one for a good mood, unless you're krogan." he said as he gave a nod to her.
"I live on illium, so asari places don't bother me so much." he said as he cracked his neck a bit, "Some do, but I know how to avoid those kinds of places."
At the mention of where they would go next, vayne had to wonder that himself. "It is a good question, given whats happened. Sounds like you guys finally have a lead on this investigation. Seems like it'd be good to figure out this ship quickly. Get it looked through for clues, maybe gut its software to take a look at, or a third of the software at least." he said as he stopped, looking at morgan curiously.
"Your a pirate captain?" he asked as he looked to jess, a little surprised to hear the news. He wanted to be more surprised at the news, but he knew first hand that spectres tended to be lenient on people they could use, criminals or no. Still it was something of a shock. "Think i'm going to need another one of those shots, gotta give a toast of respect for you." he said as he gave a nod towards jess, impressed.
"I see what's coming," Naleena stood, took her glass and walked behind the bar. The bouncer came over. She shot him a look that backed him down in a hurry. "I just want to wash the salarian filth out of it if you don't mind. And I'll buy a fresh unopened bottle of bourbon."
Naleena paid for it after cleaning washing and drying her glass and walked back to the table.
"We did. But I'm talking drinking, Captain. I'm clear you aren't talking out your nether end about the ship," Morgan said with a wink; a bit of mischief in his ordinarily hard looks.
Jess sighed and knocking back her last drink, overturned it and firmly put it down on the table. "I hearing a challenge luv"?
"If you want a challenge, you've got some catching up to do."
Morgan lined up his six empty shots, and put one of Jess' blue on standby.
Eteon remained quiet while watching the rest of the group banter, enjoying the time to relax. While they spoke she raised her omni-tool and typed up a message to Deidrus.
Sir.
Morgan is up on his feet and took Vayne, Elara, Naleena and myself out for drinks. He seems to have more or less stabilized.
The reason for his stasis was a bite from the insect-like creature that had managed to get into his suit. The effects last for a while but do not seem to need any anti-agent in order to halt the effects. I'm willing to assume from that the stasis is designed to be a temporary measure for storage before being placed into one of the pods. Elara would have to elaborate further on such a topic though.
It looks like we will be bar hopping a bit. We will be in an Asari bar called Ambrosia soon though possibly after Jess and Morgan give themselves alcohol poisoning.
Finishing the message and sending it off Eteon looked back up to see the beginnings of a drinking competition. This can't end poorly. She thought dryly as she leaned forward on her elbows and looked to the side to watch how this particular event would play out.
Jess picked up one of the glassed and knocked it back in one fluid motion before turning it over and planting it down on the table top. "That's it luv. Your going down".
"So how much is a share of a Collector ship supposed to be worth, supposing someone actually paid for it?"
Morgan let one of his eyelids become a bit lazy. He didn't want Stone thinking he was a ringer. He called over his shoulder to 'Twitch', while keeping Jess in his view.
"Bartender, you might want to make the lady's next shot a glass of milk."
Jess picked up a shot. "Milk run luv? Well now. Hope your not so nervous that your trying to scare me out of this". She knocked another back and grinned as she slammed the glass down next to the other.
"As for the Collector ship? It's real value is as a trophy. Base line for a ship of that size and then whatever the prospective buyer is willing to part for it".
Morgan got 'Twitch to bring over another round for anyone taking, and a full bottle of scotch for him and Jess, since he saw she wasn't going to give in. "Well, I figured you'd know since I'm spending my last credits in this place." He poured, drank, and placed his next glass down to his last. Stone downed another and, Morgan did again. Whatever he had drank first began to catch up with him, and he knew his will would have to carry him onward soon.
"And since I can't get anyone to give me an answer for Aria," Morgan said as he peered at Naleena, "Or Androkan," he continued as he then peered at Eteon, "and since Vayne seems to have his own ship, and I don't need one, I thought you might be able to put a number on it. Especially since I have you to thank for having knowledge of these things.
"If you haven't noticed, I'm not much of a spendthrift. Money brings problems, and I've never seen different, though I'd like to believe there is. Money can buy you...Serrice Ice Brandy, or...a seven foot tall bodyguard I suppose. But if you've got a lot of something, someone else is going to want it."
