'Pandora'

"What is going on down there?"  Tollan Linra asked the communications officer, who really was a second to VERA, who handled the communications for most of the vessel.  Selani wanted an actual person to interface with, citing her personal desire for a 'living' person should she have the need.  What need, Silani never outlined, and right now, the person who seemed to be failing with the communication was the 'living' person.

"Scythe 2 has disembarked without incident," VERA explained.  "Though protocol from the deck master instructs a verbal confirmation of such.  It seems the deck master is distracted."

Commander Selani looked over at the 'living' communications officer.  "Tell the deck master if it happens again, I'm going to rip him out of his position."

"Affirmative, Commander," the com officer replied.

Meanwhile, down on the deck, one person had finally recovered.  Septerax Paria approached the disembarking women and greeted them.  "Welcome to...welcome you...Hi."  Coughing, Septerax corrected himself.  "Welcome aboard the Janiri.  I understand you've come from the Medusa to meet with Captain Stone.  Please, follow me and I will escort you to her location."

"Thanks," Babe said, the one word flowing out of her beautiful lips like an ocean breeze.

"You're very welcome.  Extremely so...pardon."  Septerax coughed again.  "This way, please."

By the time that Babe and Miss Priss had been brought to Anika's cabin, where Jess was at the moment, there were five inexplicable stumbles and collisions between crew members in the passageway, one near concussion as one of the falls resulted in a head connecting with a maintenance rail, and at least 25 mis-entered instructions on datapads or other interface devices.  Three of those got back to the bridge for equally strong reprimands from Selani.  And, of course, by the time Babe reached Jess' cabin, everybody on the Janiri knew about the human woman who'd come aboard.

The part that made sure that happened was when someone with clearance actually managed to hijack the general intercom and announce, "Bombshell on board, everyone needs to get a look!"  Of course, that person was going to be raked over the coals by Selani.

But that person was sure the infraction was worth it.

“Ma’am, you have a call waiting on the QEC.”

Daliax rolled onto her back, and sighed.

So much for sleep.

“From who?”

“Unspecified. It's originating from the CSV Janiri, ma’am.”

Fuuuuuuuuuuck. Alright, I’m coming.” Daliax sat up on the edge of her bed, and grabbed her cane. Wincing just a bit, she stood, and hobbled her way towards her comm room.

When she reached her destination, she straightened her back, and balanced herself, before letting the cane fall to the ground. Standing before the QEC, hands behind her back and looking all professional, she accepted the call.

“Spectre T’Sarius.” Daliax nodded. The asari before her looked nothing like the one in the file that she may or may not have sorta skimmed over. “I've acquired a ship, and will soon be available to assist in your search for Spectre... uh..." She checked her omni-tool for the message. "Xanthe Remi."

Jess pouted. Then shrugged. "Just a meeting with Udina. Been meaning to talk to him every time I've docked here and every time event's pulled me away..... Aaaah, he can wait another day". Jess hopped up and took a deep breath. "I say the shuttle. Let the ships sit in dock for awhile. Medusa has a full list of final repairs to perform and I'd prefer to let the crew focus on them for a change. Give Morgan and Dogger a chance to show the repair teams how to fix up something without having a list of other duties burning away in their mind".

Stepping towards the door Jess opened it then turned back to Naleena. "As for what your lot can do.... I suggest something might help with a few attitudes I've been told about. Especially about all this Reaper business I've caught wind of late.... Two teams....". She held up a finger on both hands. "One to argue the case for why Reapers exist.... The other to argue why they do not. Both have to base their cases on what we've learned thus far. Assign the people who don't believe to argue for.... The ones who will admit they might to team against".

Jess grinned. "It'll give Team Boom something to focus the mind. Anika won't like it initially but she'll come around when she starts focusing on the problem. Essul, Vayne and Irina? Who knows? But after all the fighting of late it seems to me they might enjoy the assignment...... Tell them you want them ready to bring their cases by the time they get back and assign the chief hard heads as team leaders. Then step back, jump into a shuttle with me and we'll be there and back before you know it".

Iole

The first reaction to seeing the turian on the other end of the QEC was surprise for Iole.  She stood there staring at her without words for several seconds.  Then a few things started sinking in about the turian she was staring at:  Cane on the ground, is that?  Hiding some injury...war wounds, she's a bit weird looking, disorganized.

Iole's eyes narrowed and the suspicions crept in.

She thinks I'm Spectre T'Sarius.

"Been enjoying yourself, I see?  Did you pick up some of the local talent?  I thought I was going to get someone who took their job seriously.  Is that why your name wasn't mentioned in my report?"  Iole leaned in.  "You're going to have to remind me who you are if you want me to take you seriously."

'Pandora'

Miss Priss smiled broadly.  "This is going to be a lot of fun, Babe.  I got the hairs on the back of my neck all standing up!"  Priss knocked on the door to the cabin vigorously, and called out in sweet, lingering words.  "Hoooneyyy Beeee...It's us!  Come straight over from the Medusa, lickety split!  Just like you asked.  You in there, Bee?"

Babe was busy watching two asari twins who were passing, and were staring back at her.  One of the asari twins bumped into the other, but neither started looking where they were going even as they kept on walking.  "A lot of fun?  If you say so..."

At that point a rap on the door attracted Jess's attention and she stepped to the door and opened it. Outside, amid a gaggle of gawking Asari, Jess saw Miss Priss who stood close by an Asari who seemed to be trying to usher them into the room she stood in. Probably a guide, Jess thought. And then......

Babe's presence was so immense that Jess felt it barely warranted concious acknowledgement. Babe's intense, alluring aura could do that by itself. Simply seeing her standing where she was caused a rise in Jess's temperature as she felt a giddy, almost all encompassing euphoria that was tinged with waves of uncertainty that Babe was emanating. Jess caught herself and made a concious effort to tap down her desires that......

On looking behind her two crewmen Jess saw a gaggle of other Asari all standing just behind the other two women. Like flotsam caught in the wake of a ship they had been dragged along Babe's path but had stopped just short of, but still close to the flame that attracted them like moths to her fire. Jess leaned back and smiled at the two. "Eyah luv's! You made it then".

"Here in apple pie order, Honey Bee," Miss Priss greeted, taking Babe by the hand, bringing her in, and shutting the door behind both of them.  There were a few lingering looks before the cabin hatch was shut completely.

Babe looked a bit lost herself, but when she saw Jess, she smiled.  And then to Naleena, who she'd never seen before, Babe caught her with those eyes like the sea and said, "An honor to meet you."

Miss Priss was quick to remember Naleena.  "I never forget a black leather clad asari I take a likin' to.  Aren't we missing our tall friend Anika?  Didn't she have a place here on someone's lap?"

Jess caught that mischievous glint in Priss' eye.  She couldn't get the bad out of her.

"Good question. Not my business though. Anika's got work to be doing I'm sure. It's not like Naleena left her up in her quarter's tangled up in the bedsheets..... right"? She asked, Looking over at Naleena. "........Right"?

Babe looked seriously at Naleena after Jess comment, shifting her sumptuous hips a bit anxiously, perhaps, which caused the chain around her waist to jingle a bit.

Miss Priss had a jingle of a different kind as she put her weight on one leg and put her sly eyes onto Naleena.  "That leather ain't just for image, then, is it? My...the things that are kept behind closed doors.  Spectre blowin' off a little steam with our lovely glamazon?  It just makes my heart go pitter-patter!"

There was an idea that Babe had when she pulled a cherry blowpop out of the top of one of her boots and stuck it in her mouth, that idea being she'd calm her nerves as it oddly seemed to get warmer in the cabin.

But Babe sucking on a blowpop did nothing to ease the mood for the others.

Jess winced. "Okay you two take it down a notch. We've got the better part of a two day shuttle ride to go see your consort so let's try and make sure nothing happens we don't want to happen, if you catch my meaning. The shuttles not that big. We don't need a.... event.... Save those for when we get back home to the Medusa. Then you can go wild".

Daliax changed her stance from ‘reporting for duty’ to ‘Oh hell naw, b*tch, I know you didn’t’. Still, she remained as professional as her Gavian blood would allow. She chuckled lightly. “I understand that you’re new to this, so I’ll excuse your ignorance just this once.” She held up a finger.

“My name is Daliax Gavian, and I am a council spectre. For the past, oh… twenty years or so, I’ve been shooting, stabbing, and blowing up just about everything that I’ve been asked to. I’ve also been shot, stabbed, and blown up more than a few times myself.”

“And while you’re right, I may not take the job as seriously as I used to, losing a limb or two tends to make one feel a bit... unenthusiastic, I am still more than capable of serving, despite what you, or even the council may think.”

Daliax crossed her arms, but quickly uncrossed them to maintain her balance. She tried playing it off by leaning on the terminal instead.

“So… did you need somethin’, or were you just calling to talk sh*t?”

Iole

Daughter of an unwed matron, Iole cursed mentally, A Spectre...

Wait, 'losing a limb or two'?  This is absolutely Frank's kind of....Frank!

Iole folder her arms in an attempt to be authoritarian.  It came across more as defensive.  "I'm here trying to find a human named Frank Eli.  His contact information led to this QEC, and the conversation I have to have with him is confidential.  Presuming he didn't tell you everything he knew in bed.  Do you think you can stir him out of your sheets?"

Yeah, there's no pulling one over on me, 'Spectre Daliax'!

"I... what? Who?"

Daliax narrowed her remaining eye, while trying to understand what the f*** T'Sarius was going on about. It took her a moment to put things together. Her mouth opened slightly, but it closed before anything came out.

Time for some fun.

If turians could smile, Daliax would be sporting the ultimate sh*t eating grin.

"Frank Eli..." She stroked one of her mandibles, before holding out a hand at Frank's height. "Human, about... yea high? Missin' a few fingers on one hand?" She made sure to clearly display her cybernetics while flexing her hand. "About like this?" She gestured again, this time with both hands. It was pretty clear what she was getting at.

"Yeah, he's here. He showed up with my brother a little while ago." She nodded. "Spirits, am I glad he did. It can get lonely out here sometimes, you know? It's nice having someone to... talk to." Daliax cocked her head to the side a little bit. "Not that we did much talking. Shouting my name over and over again hardly qualifies as conversation." She leaned forward, fighting back a snicker as she did.

"So should I go get him out of bed, or would you like to try again in the morning? He's really in no shape to be walking right now." She chuckled. "My bad."

There was this shade of purple, miraculous, really, as it came from the tips of Iole's crest tentacles, and travelled along the top of her head, to descend upon her face until her golden eyes were peering out of something that looked more like a blueberry than her usual, even toned blue skin.

"OH!"  Iole couldn't help fuming.  "Okay, Spectre...or should I say, retired Spectre, since you used to be on the job.  Good that you're enjoying the perks of fame without talent anymore!  I'd ask you to get Frank out of bed if you could walk there on your own, without that third leg I see lying on the floor over there."  Iole's hands went to her hips.  She really didn't know what she was doing at that point, but the words just kept coming out of her mouth.  "Frank's doing you a favor, I'm sure, since you probably need a little help getting on top of things these days.  Don't you worry, I know who's doing the heavy lifting when it comes to working on an old chassis..."

Oh Goddess, she just said her brother...she's turian...what was that last name?...Gavian....

The little fire in the golden blazing suns of Iole's eyes went out a bit.

"You...you said Frank showed up with your brother...Marius?...Quintus?"

One of Iole's hands raised so she could put her face into it.

"#@!*'!#*...Can you just get Frank out of bed for me, please."

(the following is a collaboration with Kel)

After the rather weird situation at the lounge, Arian made his way back to the simulator and the gym. If Tallis had been right then he would find Jenus here. A bit aimlessly he wandered around looking for the asari commando, but when he eventually spotted her in the weight room, he was hesitant to approach her. He didn't even know how to put his thoughts in words but at the same time, Arian felt the need to just talk to someone and he imagined that Jenus had similar things on her mind.

With the same cold look on his face as always, he approached her. It was obvious though that something was bothering him because it was more than unusual for him to look for a conversation. "Jenus...you got a minute to talk?"

For once, Jenus didn't great someone with her usual repertoire of braggadocio.  Jenus was working on an all-points machine press, and glanced over at Arian as she was mid-motion.  She didn't even respond at first, until she'd finished two more reps, but when she was done, she sat up in the machine and grabbed a towel.

"For you?  Sure."  Jenus seemed to be aware that Arian even talking was a big deal, although she certainly made no issue about it.

The turian seemed to be somehwat surprised by her reaction. For a few moments Arian didn't speak, he just crossed his arms and stared at the ground before he eventually turned to Jenus. "When the spectre promoted Essul, you didn't seem to be overly excited about it. You had a problem with it, right? You thought it was a mistake. Why?"

Jenus raised a brow and pondered for a minute, before she responded.  "That's what you wanted to know?"  She paused again, as if switching gears for an unexpected conversation.  "Well, since everything here is listened to by VERA, and probably recorded, and I'm a soldier, and have a modicum of professionalism, I'll leave it at putting second in command of a Council vessel to someone who is part of some specialist team, and not a member of a Council race...not to mention worked for a government that has been an enemy of a Council member...doesn't seem prudent to me.

The ramble was unusual for the usually, and painfully, straightforward, Jenus.  Then she added. "But what do I know? I'm just supposed to be a grunt.  They give me orders.  I do the orders."  Obviously, the last bit was sarcastic.  It was clear that Jenus was expressing her lack of love for the decision.

"I'd ask why you want to know but if we're trading questions, it isn't the first thing I'm wondering."  Jenus got herself ready for another set on the machine.  "If your up for a conversation, how about you answer something I've wanted to ask you?"

Arian looked around as if he was searching for hidden mics that VERA would use to record everything. Then he shrugged. "Officially I'm not even part of the team. I don't have duties, I could just walk away like Frank did. So I'm not afraid to say that the spectre did a mistake when she made Essul second in command. Like she did when she risked the whole mission for the life of one soldier or when she risked everyone's life over a few savages. Or Essul when he ordered us to retreat from the hospital on Garvug, leaving a prothean artifact in the hands of that krogan warlord..." While he spoke the anger in his voice became more and more noticable.

With a sigh he turned back to Jenus and watched her doing her workout. "What do you want to know?"

Jenus could feel the anger swell, and it was somewhat contagious to her.  "I'll ask but I'll tell you first I respect you, Arian.  And it's not because your a killing machine.  It's because I know you aren't going to ever going to try to make nice, or cover up some varren s**t agenda with pleasant talk.  You make the hard decisions and that doesn't get a lot of credit, I'm sure."  Clearly for her species, Jenus had physical prowess and it showed as she worked.  With some strain in her voice from the press she was putting into her workout, Jenus said, "What I want to know is how come you came back after meeting that assassin?  Or whatever you want to call that woman who we had a firefight with."

It somehow didn't surprise Arian to be asked this question but at the same time, it caught him off-guard.

He turned away and for a moment it looked like he wanted to leave without another word. Then he sighed again and said: "Someone is trying to kill me." The way he said it made it sound like it was the most natural thing in the galaxy. "I don't know why...and this woman who saved me after I got shot by some wannabe assassins...she's crazy. She told me a lot of...weird things and offered me her help with the man who is after me..."

The turian hesitated to tell Jenus more about this incident on the citadel. He had already told her more than anyone else. "I just hope I never see that woman again. There are things I want to forget and that includes everything that happened on the citadel. I refused to accept her offer and she just let me go after we talked. That's how I came back."

In an attempt to distract from this topic, he returned to what he had said earlier. "Hey, I just wanted to know what you are thinking. I doubt that the spectre is up to the task, that she will be able to lead this team and make the right calls, even if that means that soldiers like us might die. If you can't speak out loud what's on your mind, then I hope you can at least see why I'm thinking that way."

"Uh huh," Jenus agreed and put her attention briefly into her rep.  More importantly, Arian could read between the lines with Jenus, as she had a sort of vibe that made him feel she agreed with him more than she could even say.  "I'd help you if you want it, if you'd like to know.  But only if you want it."

After her set, Jenus sat up and put her feet firmly on the floor.  She caught her breath and added, "I have nothing to hide from Essul or anyone when I say this:  Give people like you and me the operations.  They don't like to hear it, maybe, but we can do the job.  If I go back for someone, which I do, I do it right.  With overwhelming firepower.  Or when our enemy doesn't see a thing coming.  Preferably both.  None of this exposure, putting ourselves in meetings with people who have the upper hand."

Jenus then stood up and looked the tall turian in his eyes.  She planted her fist in her palm, "They leave it to people like us and they won't have problems anymore, because whoever it is who thinks to stand against us?  We'll wreck them!"

It was very unusual to see a smile on Arian's face. It didn't make him look likable in any way though, instead it gave him something threatening. "I would want your help if I needed it. You know what you're doing, you know what matters. But I don't think I need any help. Now I know that someone is after me and I'm not going to make it easy for anyone." Even if that means I have to stop drinking... "But thanks for offering."

He already turned around to leave but then Arian suddenly stopped and looked back at Jenus. "Just a warning; Ereba might ask you about our sparring back when I joined the team. She seemed curious about it."

"Of course. But only because you asked so nicely." Daliax brought up her omni-tool. "Marius. Marius! MAAAAARRRRRIIIIIUUUUUSSSSS!"

"What!?" A groggy Marius responded. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"

"Send your pilot to the comm room, will you? Someone else needs his body for a little while." She made sure to make eye contact with Iole as she spoke that last line.

"Sure, sis. Wait, what do you mean by--"

Daliax closed her omni-tool.

--------------------------------------------

"Eli, are you up?"

Of course I am. I can't sleep while on this sh*t.

"You know it! What's up?"

"Dax wants to see you in the comm room."

"For what?" Frank asked, while moving sh*t around in the fridge, trying to find something to eat that wouldn't kill him.

"I don't know, and I don't want to know."

"Allllrighty." Frank emerged with some kind of fruit he'd never seen before, and headed to the comm room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sup?" Frank asked, while entering the comm room. There was a noticeable change in both his pace and expression as he saw Iole's image near the terminal.

"Hey, stud." Daliax winked. Or maybe it was a blink? It's hard to tell with one eyed folk. Frank raised an eyebrow, but didn't really think much of it, as he was focused on Iole

"What's wrong?" Were the first words out of his mouth, once he reached the terminal.

"Spectre T'Sarius here is just a little jealous, is all." Daliax answered for her, while bending down to pick up her cane.

"Huh?"

Spectre T'Sarius?

"Don't worry. I already told her everything so you wouldn't have to."

"Uh..." Frank looked to Daliax, then back up to Iole.

"I guess I should leave you two alone now..." Daliax shrugged. She brought her face close to Frank's ear. "I'll be seeing you later." She whispered loudly, hoping that someone would hear. If Iole didn't hear that, she definitely heard what came next.

*POP!*

"Gah!" Frank snapped forward, and rubbed at his ass. He watched over his shoulder, as Daliax left. Looking back to Iole, he just shrugged.

What the hell did I just walk into?

----------------------------------------------------------

Outside the room, Daliax appeared to be having a seizure of some kind. Turns out it was just an epic bout of laughter.

Naleena - by Naleena

I stood listening to Jess sort out everything. As expected we were taking my shuttle to Nevos without even VERA to break up the insanity that seemed to be coming aboard. With Jess you never knew what was going to happen. I had to make sure I brought enough alcohol for the trip. The one they called Miss Priss seemed to be a resourceful. I expect she'd cause the most trouble.

They were talkative bunch except for the one called Babe. Babe was Jess' gunner and was constantly running calibration simulations. Otherwise she seemed to be quite nervous. It had been a while since my shuttle's lasers had been calibrated. I had something to keep her occupied during the long trip.

Since we were headed to Nevos, I hadn't checked in with Carina for about a year.  I wondered how she was doing. Carina was my fence before I became a Spectre. She was good at finding people. I needed someone I trusted to verify the address and locate Sha'ira without making any noise. She was the one to do it. I'd do this from the shuttle and purge the contact so there was no record of it on the Janiri.

I didn't have to pack anything. I kept a clean set of clothes on the shuttle unless someone removed them. They knew better than to that.

I turned to Jess and smiled. "Essentially, shore leave while we're gone. I'll give Selani the word," I said. "And I'm stopping on Thessia on the way back. I'm taking personal time. You'll need to book passage on a commercial flight. Don't worry, I'll give you the job number.

"I also heard that the one Babe is your gunner, and she's not very talkative. Perhaps to give her something to do on the trip, do you think she'd like to calibrate the guns on the shuttle with the VI and work with its targeting sim? It will work while we're in FTL."

Babe, who was in the room as Naleena talked (along with Miss Priss), stared at the Spectre with a kind of look of wonderment.  Sort of a wonderment of why the Spectre was talking about her to Jess as if she wasn't there.

Nobody really ever ignored Babe, so it was actually kind of a phenomenon to her.  She said nothing, due to fascination.

Miss Priss, on the other hand, couldn't keep still.

Priss' eyes wandered from Jess, to Naleena, to Babe, to Naleena and back to Jess again.  After a pause, she responded to what Jess had said.

"Okay, Honey Bee!"

Miss Priss made a gun like shooting motion with her hand then before anyone could say anything, she slipped right back out the cabin door.

Babe watched her go, sucking on the cherry blowpop.  Then her eyes shifted back to both Jess and Naleena.  And those beautiful sea eyes had another look that communicated clearly without words.

Those eyes said, You know that woman in pink is up to no good.

Iole

Iole faced Frank, the deep shade of her embarrassment having faded only slightly.  "I might have made an ass of myself with your friends' sister," she said to Frank, her words feeling hot on her breath.

VERA's voice came through the QEC.  "I would have identified you as Commando Akros if not for the immediacy of your conversation, Iole.  I determined you were using what living organisms refer to as deception.  Obviously you had an important purpose."

"Uh, yes....," Iole said turning more purple again, with uncertainty.  But then her deterimination returned.  "I mean, yes!  Frank, why didn't you tell me you had a thing going with Daliax?"

It took a conscious effort to focus with Babe standing nearby. Those pants hugging every curve of her hips down her shapely legs and into those boots. The woman was what we in the business call a femme fatale. One who would become a disaster to anyone who became involved with her. Oh, she had my interest, alright. So did that seven foot blonde upstairs who would rip my head off if I tried anything.

I decided to speak with the woman who'd be sitting next to me most of the trip. I took a cigarette out of my case and lit it. Out of courtesy I offered her one. "So Babe, does that sound good to you? Calibrating the guns on the shuttle? They haven't been calibrated since the VI was installed. They're dual independently firing UV Gardian Lasers. It'll give you something to do. It looks like Jess and Priss will probably be busy talking in the back, and I have a backlog of reports to read over at my station.

"This is my private shuttle, so let me know how much you want for the job. It's not covered under Council expenses."

Babe reached out slowly for the cigarette, her candy red nails matching the color of the blowpop she'd stuck in her mouth.  "Thanks," she said after shoving the pop into one cheek with her tongue.  After nabbing the cigarette in two fingers with one hand, she removed the blowpop with her other hand, and without thought, tossed what was left into a nearby trash incinerator.  Then Babe leaned in for the light.

Which, of course, in that hugging, cropped, cotton sleeveless tank, gave Naleena a clear shot of some cleavage that was enough to give someone a heart attack.

It was like a movie, a perfectly shot movie, right up until the point where Babe leaned back with the lit cigarette, taking her drag with lips people would kill for.  Right then, Babe coughed hard, and a bit of tear appeared at the edge of each eye.

Babe had clearly never smoked before.

After another cough, and holding the cigarette out, there was a feeling in the air as if it was clouded, even though Naleena well knew the ventilation in the room carried everything out.  With air stifled words, Babe replied, "Job's...*cough*...pay's up to Jess.  We...*cough*...have a deal."  Babe waived her free hand around in the air.  "Sure, I'll calibrate whatever you need."

You are faaaaar to hot to be this insecure.” Frank responded, as if Iole didn’t just witness a blatant ass slap via QEC. “First it was Mols, and now Dax? Give me a break here, commando!” He threw up his hands. “What kind of guy do you take me for? As if I would ever think of messin’ around on ya...” He shook head in disappointment, as if he’d never ever thought about it ever.

Frank bit at his lip as his recent extranet activity came to mind.

Hey… totally unrelated, but I don’t suppose you’ve talked to Eteon lately, have you?” He raised an eyebrow.

If she hasn’t, she’s probably going to now, you idiot!

Or Faed, or Septerax, or any of the other crew in general… heh?” Frank rubbed at the back of his neck.

Essul was at his desk as he filled out the ships requisition forums for more fuel, taking to calculating the costs of their last burst run out of batarian space when he heard the call ring out above about a "bombshell aboard". His face scrunched into a disgusted frown as he shook his head.

"Unprofessional..." His only utterance during this time as he continued filling out the forms. After this, was of course the resupply of provisions since they were in council space, and more specifically the citadel. Then of course was the discharge of built up energy from using their eezo core. Nothing too costly, but it would require time.

"Hopefully we'll have some shore leave..." Essul said to himself. Being a member of this team and a position it was had its perks, of which essul rarely used. It's drawbacks however of having such...not as exciting as they could be assignments were a bit tiresome. Still, it wasn't all bad. At least he had a place he belonged, and a crew he could call close comrades.

"Still...." He thought as he sent a email message to Selani from the terminal, "The Janiri will require a few hours of drydock in order to be refueled and discharged. I'm finishing up the forms now and sending out the resupply forms to the spectre offices now. An extended shore leave might do some good for the downtime, but I'll leave that decision to yourself and spectre t'sarius."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vayne, for his credit, had stayed an hour int he Janiri to keep himself busy. But as exciting as it was to be in the small and short rooms and hallways of the Janiri, he needed to get some fresh air from time to time, and to go out and at least see people who weren't around him 24/7.

The krogan however didn't leave unprepared. Not this time at least. 3 times on a shore-leave he'd been caught up in some BS firefight. This time, Vayne would not come unprepared. This time, Vayne wouldn't get ambushed and wind up shot and bleeding somewhere. This time vayne would be able to beat the crap out of the next son of a ****** who tried to mess with him. This time-

"Sir! We can't let you pass customs..." The customs officer said behind the reinforced screen room, a look of distress on her face as the krogan raised a brow at her statement.

"Whys That?" Vayne asked as he stood in his full heavy armor, The N7 Eagle at one hip, and his Baraka Shotgun on the other, raising a brow to the officer as he stood with his arms crossed, "If It's about a travel permit, my ID aught to clear up that I'm authorized to travel in citadel space."

"No, you're paperworks not the problem...it's just..." Vayne's eye narrowed as he stared down the officer, who looked down to the terminal with occasional quick glances up at him, "Let me just contact my supervisor..."

He was going to go in to the citadel. He was going to get his crew something nice. And nothing was going to get in his way this time.

Jess watched the tip of the Cigarette turn to ash as Babe took her first pull. The lit end stood no chance and the char sped down the length as Jess watched the display of Babe's top, straining. Barely holding her in as she first leaned forward, then back again.

"HmmmMmmm, yeeeaaaah.... You want to calibrate those guns doncha..... Take your sweet time there on the run up and back..... I bet you can't wait to take them to task and make them behave as you get in deep up to their aligning gears while you polish off those focusing crystals..... Maybe lube up those micro adjuster's and handle the focusing iris reeeeeeal nice and okayI'mback"! Jess said as she snapped out of her reverie. Looking as if nothing had happened she grinned at Naleena. "You want calibrations luv? Babe's your girl. We'll be fine, I mean, I've been riding her hard over on the Medusa so a little get away and some calibrations is just what the doctor ordered".

After receiving the plans from Naleena that she was traveling to Nevos then taking personal leave, Commander Selani would be in charge of the ship for a while. Probably about 10 days. After finishing her business on Nevos she had some business on Thessia. Armali to be exact. Then she'd booked a suite at a resort in T'sela, a couple hundred miles down the coast to "soak her feet in the sand and be Asari."

The crew looked like they could use some recharging themselves. She'd seen Essul's report and requisitions. Then there was Han Breizh's report. And she saw Naleena's requisition - "Coffee! Real coffee! Sumatra beans from Earth. None of this fake crap they're trying to pass off as a morning energy drink. A crew that's risking their lives every day deserves something of quality."

Selani knew that two months supply would end up in Naleena's private stock in the freezer in her quarters. Doesn't she know they're growing it on Nevos? The climate there is perfect. But what do I know?

"VERA, notify the crew that they have 24 hours liberty while we refuel and discharge," she said. "The ship needs to go in dry dock for a week as well for a tune up, and there's one shipyard that can handle this vessel, and that's on Thessia."

Iole

"Eteon?  She hasn't been on mission lately, but I'm sure she's around somewhere.  Faed, still layed up.  I wonder if he'll ever recover.  And Septarax...of course he's around, doing his usual thing.  I just saw him coming up from a shuttle job.  I think he might miss his little run-ins with you."

Iole shook her head as her normal color began to return. "Sorry, lost my mind there.  And even if sticking around here was the right thing to do, I still miss you, and still wish I was around you."  She bit the side of her lip for a moment, then got excited and said, "And I can't stop thinking about seeing that race with you!  Or any race for that matter!  Seriously, you and I, we've got to find a way.  You'll be beside yourself once you see one of these things in action!  Oh, and...well, I won't hold it against you if you can't keep your eyes on the bikes."  Iole laughed.  "What do we do, Frank?  How can this...what's the old phrase I heard an Earther say?  How can this go down?"

Babe

The heat of the suddenly spent cigarette had almost gotten to Babe's fingers.  She took a look at the butt, then tossed it into the nearby tray.  Somehow, the cabin seemed to take on a grey tone.  Babe let the smoke out slowly, and it curled around her nostrils and slightly open mouth.  Babe'd tongue rolled in her mouth, and pressed against her teeth as she indulged in the tastes left behind.  There was another cough from her, though slighter this time.  "I could get into this," she said as she looked at Naleena and eyed where she'd placed the cigarette case.

Miss Priss

T'eney  was an ensign, and the youngest member, by relevant age, on the Janiri.  Just over one-hundred twenty years old, the asari has gotten lucky, well lucky along with all the right marks to qualify.  Still, she never took for granted her acceptance on such an important ship, even if because of her age and rank she often had undesirable duties thrust on her.  Who cared?  She was on the Janiri!

The datapad in T'eneys hand had caught her attention as it was updated with another small list of things to do.  She stopped in a passageway to go through the list.  When she looked up, she saw a human in some sort of, well she didn't really know what kind, but pink clothes that seemed rather attractive.  And the woman looked a bit lost as she stared around the ship.  "Can I help you?" T'eney asked.

The human woman turned towards her, batting long lashes.  "Well, aren't you a helpful one!  Yes, I've gotten a bit, well, all turned around.  I'd like to see if someone can accompany me to...I'm sorry, what did you say your name was, calico?"

"I hadn't yet, but it's T'eney."  T'eney smiled broadly at the friendly woman.

"T'eney, that's a sweetheart of a name.  I'm Miss Priss!"
