Essul looked up as his armors systems still took time to try and reboot. Normally, he'd have ordered his omnitool to help with the process, but his omnitool had taken a severe downgrade in order to make it through c-secs screening. Even the programs he'd managed to sneak through were mostly a SPS(station positions software) program and a data extraction tool, as well as a encrypted channel to his ship.

As such, essuls attempt to stand merely had him fall as his armors hydralic systesm remained offline, the weight of his armor now cumbersome without its usual defenses.

All he could do was stare, and hope his systems rebooted before c--sec arrived. His gaze shifted to look to the embassy. His clear ticket out of this mess, if he could just make it.

Eteon had the displeasure of hearing the Suns get tossed through the side of the shuttle. It was weird, a crunching noise that was hard on the stomach and when she pulled herself out of cover she was greeted with the sight of holes in an aircraft. She was a bit flabbergasted seeing as moments ago there were Suns still standing, then some woman showed up and they were all on the ground incapacitated. She had heard the woman's bellows, anyone would have, but seeing the tiny Asari standing in the middle of the carnage was just surreal.

She hopped over the barrier she had been hiding behind and slowly approached the Asari but on the way found her book impeding her path. It had been tossed and she only barely caught it at the speed it was traveling. In the distance sirens could be heard approaching, and the Asari seemed to hear them as well because she let out a long sigh. "This is why we don't let the hotheads play around on the Citadel. Idiots." Hr grumbling was audible from Eteon's distance.

"Uhm..." Eteon hesitated, unsure about what was going on. "Miss, are you alright?" She held her book at her side just in case the Asari tried something but the dark-skinned woman didn't make any motions which were threatening.

"I'll be better when these guys are cooking from the inside." The Asari replied as she threw a glare at the shuttle which was holding the unconscious suns. "CSEC is going to drag my ass over the coals for this if I don't get out of here..."

Irina was sweating. Nervous sweat. She checked her omni-tool again, left the alley, and walked back to the pub, entered and ordered a drink.

Frank heard the sirens approaching, it probably wasn't the best idea to be holding a rifle when they showed up.  He popped up from cover, to check if it was safe to make a run for it.

Eteon?  Where did she come from?

She was speaking with the asari, so he assumed her to be friendly.  The batarian was laying against the wall, his armor still smoking from the overload.  Frank tossed the Avenger away, and started towards him.

Eteon was about to ask more when the Asari started walking away with a measured step that was also a little bit hurried. The Asari herself was ignoring Eteon in preference of not being around when CSEC decided it was time to actually be present on the Ring. They liked their customs checks and their bureaucracy but were still abysmal at reacting to anything but small incidents elsewhere. Eteon jogged to catch up but by the time she was about to grab the woman by the shoulder the Asari leapt up.

Really far up.

Blue aura trailing behind just a bit she jumped from the deck of the presidium and up to one of the many balconies which overlooked it. She actually doesn't have a particularly bad idea. Eteon thought to herself when she considered the fact people would probably notice a Turian beating people over the head with a book. That's not publicity I want.

Unknowing that she was leaving Frank behind she traveled up a few flights of steps and down a long tunnel-like hallway to get away from the scene. I still need to buy some things anyways. Now where would they keep blades...?

Essul saw someone approching, drawing his cazador as he aimed to the human. "Get back...right now..." he said, his voice no longer distorted and his skull engraved mask givng frank a good approximation for where his face was. He worked to get up still, "Damn...this is bad..." he said as he heard sirens coming, "Real bad..."

He heaved with all his strength, biotics flaring to try and lesson his weight a bit, as he worked to stand up. There was no question in his mind that he needed to get out of here right now. If C-sec caught him, if his cover was blown and his identity known, he'd be a dead man walking. SIU wouldn't risk one of their own getting caught, and he'd be KIA'd on hegemonic order within a week if he were lucky.

So with that essul moved with the swiftness and grace of a crippled lion, trying to make it inside the embassy and getting through the doors, halfway towards the entrance he'd used before he fell forward, catching himself on the long disused conference table. He was breathing heavily, exhausted, and the weight of his armor without its motorized joints and hydraulic boosters felt like he'd stepped onto the volus homeword without a protective suit.

"Can't get caught..not now...not when you're this far in..." He said to himself, remembering the colony of taken civilians, the recording he'd found. "Can't let...the collectors...win..." he said through gritted teeth, trying to will himself some more strength.

"Get back...right now..." The batarian pointed his weapon at Frank.

And here I thought he was friendly

Frank stopped, and put his hands up.  He watched the batarian struggle to his feet, and stumble his way into the embassy.  He followed him in.

"You seem to be in tight spot, friend."

The batarian had stopped to rest against a large table.  He slowly raised his weapon.

"No need for that, now." Frank waved his omni-tool, causing the gun to malfunction. "C-SEC will be here shortly."

Frank ran a quick scan of his armor, and whistled. "I can probably get you going. Unfortunately, we don't have enough time to do it conventionally... But I have an idea!"

"Brace yourself."  Frank prepared an overload charge.  "HARD RESET!" He pressed his omni-tool into the the batarian's back.

Eteon was looking for something specific, but had that issue when you know what you want but not what it is. She had her blades for close-quarters conflict but they had two main limitations. The first was that the ballistic variant, explosive or not, tended to be on the fragile side. They were designed so that when they were launched it was difficult to take them out again, or that they would fracture if the brittle variant. This was useful when a quick kill was necessary or someone needed to be incapacitated but meant that using any form of ballistic blades was expensive. They could be stacked but were heavy and not made in very many places, and as to her knowledge there were no micro-fabrication mods which existed for them since they had self-contained propellant.

She needed something she could use at range with minimal noise but was not going to be wasted after every use. This range of objects was not particularly wide, however. She could live with something she had to throw herself but it would need to be rugged enough that if she needed to use it on the battlefield someone stepping on the side of it, or it being shot into thick armor, wasn't going to destroy the blade.

So she had a thin space to work with, and weapon-savvy the paranoid Citadel was not.

If I can't find something here there are always other places. She thought, nodding to herself. She opened her omni-tool to send a message to Naleena:

Naleena,

I forgot to ask for your ship's name so I can send my equipment through customs for stowing. There is not a tonne but it will still be more than CSEC will let me carry around in the open.

Also, I'm looking for something but I don't know what it is yet. Do you know of any weapon, bladed in particular, which are reusable and combat-friendly if thrown. I have my ballistics but they are not particularly reusable and if we are going to be on an Asari ship I'm going to need to be particularly careful about my usage.

Thanks,

Eteon

Irina sat at the bar in the pub. It was the middle of the afternoon, so the place was quite empty. The Salarian bartender was wiping down the counter and approached.

"You look like you just saw a ghost." He said, "Is everything alright? Can I get you anything?"

"Whiskey. I usually don't drink the stuff, but it's what'll work now," she replied.

He reached under the counter, took out a bottle and poured her a shot. "First one is on the house."

"What's this? A clean glass, even." she laughed a little when she picked it up. "Thanks, mate."

Her omni-tool beeped. She opened it, and then got up from the bar. "I've got to run. It's later than I thought. Sorry, here's a tip."

Irina left and went to the Starstreamer dealership, bought the parts and returned to the Audron.

Dahlia browsed through the racks at NASG, and she found a couple of items she liked, and took them to the checkout line. Her omni-tool beeped. She opened it and furrowed her brow and sighed. She checked out and dragged her feet while she walked around the presidium.

"What are you doing!?" Essul yelled as he tried to shoot the interloper, only for his gun to register it was overloaded. "You..." he began, only for the human to shove his arm against his back, and his systems registered the unauthorized and sudden access. Essul's eyes went wide as the security system put up a firewall, and locked down the rest of his armors already debilitated systems.

Essul fell forward, his armor no longer responding as its own security protocol locked it down, the programs he'd need to unlock them himself stuck on his ship. "Human...if I ever find you again I will rip out your spine and shove it down your throat..." he said as he was now stuck laying prone on the ground, "WITH MY MIND!!!!"

Then the doors open, and c-sec stood with their guns aimed for the two, "C-SEC! GET ON THE GROUND NOW!!" They yelled as they shot both frank and essul with a almost dart like projectile, the stunner round electrocuting the both of them the second they were hit with it to drop them.

Jess wasn't sure what to expect beyond an irritated Anika and a seemingly irate custom's officer. She certainly wasn't expecting Anika to be buried under a scrum of Turian C-Sec officer's, nor the Asari custom's official holding Mr Bojangles cage calling for a quarantine team as a Salarian C-Sec officer stood to one side holding her collector guns......

Given how her past few days had gone however, seeing Anika buried under a scrum while a Salrian held onto her weapons as the custom's officer held Mr Bojangles out of her reach was not as amusing as she might have otherwise found.

"ENOUGH"!!! Jess roared and all head's turned in her direction. "Anika.... Stop messing around and come here"!

Anika grunted and straightened under the Turian's who were grappling her. "Not..... Really..... able to.....".

"Are you with her"? One of the Turian's yelled as they struggled to keep her restrained.

"We need backup"! Another one yelled.

".....remarkable construction. Unlike anything I've ever seen.....". Muttered the Salarian.

"She's armed"! Another C-sec officer, a human called out looking at Jess as he moved to disentangle himself to deal with the newcomer.

"Oh no you don't"! Anika called out as she grabbed hold of him and pulled him back and away from Jess.

"Where's Quarantine"! The Asari custom's official was calling into her comm.

................

"Oh for crying out loud.....". Jess muttered and walked over to the custom's desk. Activating her Omni-Tool she brought it down on the desk. "Check me in please luv". She told the official.

"I'm sorry regulation's state that a person must be dealt with before dealing another.....".

Jess reached over and hit the holo toggle that activated the reader. A computerised voice began speaking.

"Jess Stone. Captain. Currently assigned to bulk freighter. Listing, Medusa. Presently detached. Currently serving aboard Audron under Spectre Deidrus Androkan. Audron's current location. Citadel. Medusa's current location. Unknown. Jess Stone current affiliation. King's and Queen's Trading company. Company relation's office currently located in Citadel Presidium. Notice to consider. All employee's of the Kings and Queen's Trading company are granted special dispensation waiver to carry weapons onto the citadel as specified in the attached article. Armour and offensive data modules allowed as specified in the attached article. Waiver signed by Council member Udina by order of Terran parliament located in Sol system. Subject given V.I.P. status by council member Udina by order of Terran......".

Jess removed her hand. "Not that I like to brag about it luv but the company I work for has an understanding with the parliament that extend's to the Citadel. We've been about since before we discovered the first relay and..... Actually, you know what? It doesn't matter". Jess jerked her head over to Anika who gone quiet, along with the rest of the C-Sec officers. "I'm kindly asking you remove your officer's from my bodyguard and that all items you took be returned. I have business on this station. Much to do and not much time to do it in. I also have another person. Goes by Morgan. Wave him through to. I'll take responsibility for him".

After a few moment's of protest, followed by C-Sec removing themselves from Anika as the Salarian handed back Anika's weapons and her Gecko, they were finally into the Citadel.

"I didn't know K&Q had a deal with the Citadel". Anika said as they walked to the transport hub.

"We don't. It's a deal with parliament who extended it to the Citadel. The captain's don't much like coming here often. The citadel's.... not our kind of place..... Well, Maybe Captain Fox's place".

"Don't you mean, Foxy Baby"?

"You want me to set C-Sec back on you"?

Anika snorted. "He's better than Scarlett".

Jess rolled her eye's. "Please luv.... do not mention that name....".

"I only mentioned it because I noticed her ship was in dock".

"The Felis? It's here"?

Anika nodded.

Deidrus was resting in his private quarters. Or he would be.

For whatever reason every few minutes a notification would be pushed to him about a Citadel clearance check. Someone had been invoking the name of the Audron and his own. A lot. And he couldn't be sure why that was exactly. The persons being checked for against the database of the ship were listed... But it was almost all the alien crew, and at really odd times with coincidences over when someone was being checked.

Are they getting themselves arrested? He wondered as yet another ping went up on his console.

C-sec dragged the two out of the embassy by their newly placed handcuffs, one of the turian officers standing over essul as he grasped his helmet, the other working on the omnitool until the helmet detached with a heavy thunk. Essul looked up to them, then to frank, then back up to the two, not saying a word.

"Tag and Bag em. We got to get this mess cleaned up now." The c-sec officer in charge said as the two had a syringe type gun shoved into both their necks, drawing blood for DNA scans while their omnitools and bodys were scanned.

"We got pigments and some gel here..." the turian said as he scanned essul, pressing a few buttons as he pressed his omnitool to the batarians face. Essul let out a quick scream of pain as his skin felt like burning ants were clawing through it, back arching as the artificial skin fell from his face, showing the distinguishable amount of scars and much more extensive burns, skin darkening to his more normal dark caramel color.

Since she had nothing to do until Naleena replied Eteon found herself a place to sit back and read her book.

Sitting outside a cafe with a sandwich on a plate she leafed through the text. it was odd to see paper and ink books in this day and age but they weren't extinct since some people preferred the paper to a display. The fact that it was an old Cabal text was what interested Eteon and despite the fact there were a few dents (mostly from her scuffle earlier) it was in decent condition. She scanned over the old text and the standard alphabet that it was being converted into and found that the translation was actually about as spot on as it got. Some sounds were a bit off but depending on where the book was made that could be more or less accurate. Regional dialect was hard to account for, planetary? A nightmare.

Regardless, Eteon was able to puzzle her way through the introductory pages and found that the cover of the book did not disappoint. It was about Void Warping, and that was more surprising than anything. Most texts on the matter were sealed for viewing by only Cabal members. It was true that the STG probably had copies of one or two, but since a significant amount of the information on warping was actually taught from teacher to student there were some things which were difficult to replicate. You could always substitute in other techniques for warping but they were point-form, similar concept with different processes.

So she was surprised that a book like the one in her hands was in circulation at one point. Until she read the whole thing it would be impossible to tell exactly what amount of the information was in the book, so she set it aside for now. She doubted that Volus knew anything about the book else he would have had it somewhere safe. The exact worth was difficult to tell by the cover though so he probably just thought it another useless Biotics visualizations book.

She opened her omni-tool and started looking for a specific contact... Karras Androkan. It was likely the woman would be out on mission as she so often was once her son was in the military but she would leave a message all the same for when she came back...

Sure enough, Morgan almost missed Jess and he hurried after her when it looked like she was headed for trouble. Fortunately, it seemed to be resolved before he could even get to her. As she went on about the Kings and Queens, mentioning his name regarding clearance, Morgan was going to raise a protest but it was too late.

A message alert blinked at Morgan on his Kuwashii visor heads up display. He was surprised to see who it was from.

Frank and Essul were dragged along towards a waiting personnel transport, the doors opened to show two rows of seats both facing one another. As they were brought inside, the officers maneuvered their hands so that their handcuffs locked into pre-made slots of sorts, keeping their arms from moving as they went to attend to the wounded.

Seated accross from them were 3 Blue Suns mercs, all wounded in some way.  Further down, a turian dressed in a fine outfit, clutching his knee, glared at the new comers. To Frank's left was a human male looking terrified, and a volus of all things, hissing up a storm as the little guy had been placed in what could only be called a booster incarceration seat.

"Afternoon, gentlemen." Frank smiled as he looked around at the C-SEC transport. The only one to acknowledge him was one of the mercs, who leaned forward and spit on the floor in front of him.  He nudged Essul.  "Don't worry, buddy, I'll get us out of this mess."

Essul gave a low growl as he looked to frank, a scowl on his face as he went back to looking to the floor silently. As a c-sec officer came around again, the volus began to struggle against his bonds as he tried to break free.

"This *hiss* is an OutRAGE! *hiss* I demand *hiss* to be released *hiss* immediately!!!" he said, the c-sec human glaring at the little guy.

"No. You resisted questioning, then resisted arrest. You're going to jail." he said as he closed the doors to the transport, the volus still going off.

"HOW *hiss* DARE *hiss* YOU!!! *hiss* I know *hiss* My Rights! This is a-a- *hiss* violation of my *hiss* right to due *hiss* process!" The volus said, before the wounded turian looked to the struggling ball of anger.

"Would you shut the hell up already!!!" The man yelled, clutching his leg again in pain, "You don't got any reasons to be pissed off. The hell did you think was going to happen when you punched that guy in the leg?"

"He violated my *hiss* right to free travel! *hiss* It was attempted *hiss* Kidnapping as far as I'm *hiss* concerned." The volus retorted back, "I was *hiss* in my full legal right to fight back!"

"They're just going to let you go when we get there." Frank told the volus. "So please, calm down before you bust a seal." He looked back to the Suns.  "Can't say the same for these a**holes, though. Mind telling me why you were shooting at my batarian friend?"

"How about I give you a giant case of go **** yourself instead?" The sun who spat earlier said, no humor in his voice as he glared at the two.

"You've never been arrested by c-sec, have you?" The turian said as he looked to Frank, "They'll take days to let us go if things go through their proper channels. If we get one of the more corrupt officials handling the case, we'll mostly be fucked. 'Cept for him maybe." the turian said as he looked to the human next to Frank.

"W-w-what? What did I do?" The human said, sounding shocked and horrified, "This can't be happening man. This can't be happening. I just got this job, how could things **** up this bad?" he asked, shaking his head as if this were a bad dream.

"Heh. You're probably right about that...." The volus said as he looked to the human and frank, "Humans have flooded c-sec *hiss*. They're always willing to help a *hiss* fellow human out, and screw the rest of us over to do it."

"It also helps to have connections inside the force. Which is how I'm guessing these fuckers managed to sneak their gear aboard the station." The turian said as he looked to the blue suns, glaring, "I wouldn't be surprised if they get to walk within the day."

"Well, it looks like someone knows how this works." The sun said as he leaned back, smiling like a bastard as he did so. "Doesn't matter what we do, cause at the end of the day, we got the money and the power to do whatever the hell we want. You tell your friend there to have fun rotting in his cell. When they find out who they managed to pick up, everyone will forget all about us."

"Yeah, sure, they got a real tough guy here."  Frank smiled. "Ooooh, protect the civvies!"  He nudged Essul. "Then again, he did skewer a fair amount of your boys..."

"And you shouldn't assume I don't have some rather powerful connections of my own."  Frank frowned.  "There's a damn good chance I'll be out before all three of you f*cks, and my friend here will be right behind me as I walk out the door." He made a ridiculously long hocking noise, leaned forward, and spit directly onto the Sun in front of him.

"You're going to regret that."
----------------------------------------------------------------
Frank and Essul were taken from the car, as the rest of the captives were left behind.  C-SEC had no problem differentiating the civilians from the mercs, the only two oddballs were the well-armored batarian, and the shirtless human who claimed to be a 'Detective Elias'.

C-SEC escorted the men down a corridor. "I got this." Frank whispered to Essul, before they were lead to separate rooms.

"We know who you are, Frank Eli."  A turian paced back and forth, before the table at which Frank was seated.

"That's Detective Francis Elias to you, officer." He glanced at a muted monitor, covering the action at the embassy.

"You know impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious offense..."

"You think that I give a damn?"

"What were you doing at the embassy?"

"I was responding to a call.  Where were you doing?"

"Traces of your DNA were found in officer Taylor's skycar.  Not to mention, the missing rifle is covered in your prints."

"Are you suggesting that I killed officer Taylor?" Frank balled his hand into a fist.

"We're not ruling out that possibility."

"I didn't kill anyone, you sonuvabitch!" Frank slammed his fist on the table.  "Taylor was a damn fine officer, who gave his life while protecting citizens of the Citadel.  A true credit to the force, unlike the rest of you bastards!"

"Right."

"What were you doing with the batarian?"

"Offering assistance."

"Why?"

"He was fighting the Suns."

"What was he doing at the embassy?"

"What were Blue Suns doing at the embassy?"

"Answer the question."

"How the hell should I know? Ask him yourself."

"I've got one last question for you Detective Elias..." He stopped pacing.  "What happened to your shirt?"

Frank pointed over to the monitor.  The turian turned up the volume.

"...as you see here on this amateur video, a human known simply as Detective Elias, uses his own shirt as a tourniquet to slow the bleeding on a..."

"Are we done here?"

"For now."

Dahlia left Nos Astra Sporting Goods and walked out onto the Presidium. Morgan. She needed to talk talk to Morgan, and not just over a communicator. She needed to meet him somewhere.

She flipped open her omni-tool again and accessed Morgan's e-mail address:

"Morgan:

I need to see you right away. Can we meet somewhere. And please, just you and me. You pick the place.

- Dahlia"

"Dahlia, where have you been? You should be coming with Jess and me.

I'm not an expert on the entire layout of the Citadel, but if you need a private meeting, get to the Zakera Ward, level 28, and meet me outside the Dark Star Lounge. From there we can hit one of the off-the-beat passageways where we won't be bothered. It isn't Omega but keep your head about you.

With the notification lighting her omni-tool Eteon marked her place in the book she had been unable to resist. The Janiri... Not as Asari as I would have expected. It's almost Drell-sounding. A name was a name though, and she sent the ship name to customs so that they could transfer her things. In the interim she had her book to read despite repeating in her head that she should save it for later.

Deidrus' jaw was slightly open as he saw a news report on the firefight at the embassies. It was easy to see both Eteon and Frank in the video though Eteon slipped out of view before CSEC arrived.

I had been joking to myself when I asked if they were going into custody. I didn't think... He let out a long breath and turned off the terminal in his room along with his omni-tool for the time being. He was going to take a nap, the first one in a few days thanks to the benefits of turian supplements, and he would hope that nobody traced them back to him and started asking him questions about the insanity.

"So...you come to this station wearing a disguise with damn well made fake documents claiming to be a "Enos Shis'sak". Somehow sneaking your armor aboard this station, your weapons, and even a few illegal omnitool functions I see..." The officer said sitting across from essul. The officer was a human, older looking with a shaved head and a very stern look to him. Most likely ex-military, smile forced, pleasant tone strained.

'You just can't wait for me to act up I bet. Do something stupid so you can go at me.' Essul thought as he sat quietly, staring at the officer with his arms on the table, his armor stripped off and now wearing a more or less ruined black business suit, disheveled from being searched. His legs and arms were magnetically bound to the table and floor, and he sat straight in his chair, staring blankly to the officer. 'Prepare to be disappointed then...'

"That's some expensive looking hardware you were packing. And this gun here...." The officer siad, bringing up a picture of essuls Cazador SMG. "I've seen these, usually only the mid-grade hitmen get to use these babies. Poor mans Locust they call em. Of course...they're also standard issue for batarian special forces from what I recall..."

Essul kept his mouth shut, looking to the picture then back to the officer, still saying nothing and showing no outward reaction.

The officer nodded silently, standing up as he set down the datapad. "Why don't we start simple, huh?" He asked as he walked behind essul, "How about you tell me your name?" he asked simply.

Essul kept quiet, but sweated nervously as the man stepped behind him and out of his line of sight, trying to keep his cool.

"We know Enos is just an alias of yours. We practically caught you red handed already. So what's the harm in cooperating a bit?" His interrogator asked plainly, essul keeping quiet as he kept his head facing straight ahead, eyes trying to see the human from the corners of his vision. He didn't like not having a beat on this guy, not when he was showing signs of aggression just under the surface.

"Not talking?" The human asked as he put a hand on the back of essuls head, the batarian's eyes going wide as he tensed up. 'He;s not going to...no, he couldn't. His evidence would become useless if he laid a hand on me.' essul thought as his hands linked together, fingers wringing one another nervously, 'Nice try with the tough guy act. But it's not going to fool me.'

"To bad." the human officer said as he suddenly slammed essuls head down onto the table, smashing his head and his hands as his eyes went wide, looking up to the arm pressing down on the back of his skull.

"Let me tell you how this works...." The officer said, clear personal anger in his voice as he spoke, "I don't care what the **** you think you have to gain from this, you 4 eyed piece of ****..." he said as he pressed essuls head harder into the table, the batarian gritting his metal teeth as he felt pain erupting along his entire back and head, his old wounds acting up with this new external pressure. "You're a danger to the council, you know? A regular old terrorist caught with his hands on the explosive trigger!" he man said as he finally let up, essul raising his head as he looked to the human, giving a death glare as the human gave one right back.

"We have permission to **** you up as much as we want to get you to talk. And trust me...I got more then enough people in my life had a bad run in with your kind for me to want to take my sweat ass time beating the bloody ****** out of you." he said as essul suddenly understood his situation, rolling his neck as he heard a crack, locking eyes with the human. "So I'll ask you again..." he said as he leaned forward to get right up in essuls face, "What's. Your. Name?" he asked coldly.

Essul looked him in the eyes before looking forward, keeping silent as he threw his head down, dodging the first punch only to get a fist slammed into his skull a second later, hitting the table once more.

'This is why I hate humans so much...' Essul thought as he tried to blink the throbbing lights out of his eyes, 'They have to hold a grudge...about everything.'
