Sitting in the darkened corner of the Citadel's renowned fight club  "Bloody Monroe", Valkara started to sip on her alcoholic beverage that she rarely drank as it afflicted with her mental disorder. Valkara opened her newly bought omni-tool which she hadn't got the jist of the controls, yet was able to open up a mini game called flappy biotic; the aim was to tap the biotic orb and stop it from hitting bars. The smell of sweat and bloody noises didn't disgust Valkara in any way, she just enjoyed the noise of the energetic audience shouting comments at the contestants in the circular arena as well as the dim lighting that was enough to navigate around the place. Shadowy and dark places were Valkara's favourite places to reside, it was something completely different from the blinding lights in the asylum which stuck in her eyes for a very long time after escaping the ordeal she had gone through, but she relives it every night.

Board, the effects of the rose wine kicked in and quickly an adrenaline rush was driving through her blood. Valkara walked over from the shadows to the registration counter to qualify in a daring brawl. The last two contestants were humans and a very large krogan, it was clear the krogan won due to his weight and his muscular fits knocking out every intoxicated human that entered for a joke with their drunk friends. "Enter me now!" Valkara said in a sharp tone, alerting herself to the half asleep Salarian's presence.

"Dont get your panties in a twist, miss." He remarked back, entering Valkara name in the database which matched up two fighters. Although the salarian couldn't see Valkara's face because of her hood and her gothic attire, he knew quite well she had her eyes narrowed at his reply. A moment or two later, Valkara was escorted towards the ring whilst being told 3 simply rules "Firstly no biotic powers allowed, we want a rough simply hand to hand combat. Secondly, no killing your foe and lastly, have some fun" Said the Asari escort, who was clearly a wh0re with a few upper class clients.

Once in the ring Valkara was faced with her matched opponent, the massive korgan who had managed to knock out the previous contenders but was not honourable with drunkards. Without any countdown or notification, the fight began instantly, and the crowd roared with excitement of having a mysterious fighter with no facial identity; only the name "Valkara" to bellow with and no racial name to go with it. With the krogan charging toward Valkara, so she did the same with a more elegant stride, more focus, and a strong desire to win. Before collision, Valkara vaulted over the korgan whom had crashed into the arenas wall, but was quick to come back with a flurry of powerful punches which Valkara managed to evade by performing a backward flip then using the opportunity to kick the krogan's face. However, the krogan seized the asari's throat and slam her into the dusty floor twice, leaving Valkara a little worn, but when the krogan let go to charge his foot up, she swang her legs in a circular motion to regain ground quickly. In return Valkara sent a series of finger jabs into the krogan's body and finished him off by focusing biotic energy into the exterior of her boot before pounding it into his crotch.

An hour after threatening the Salarian for her reward despite the rule breaking of not using biotics, Valkara walked a lonely street undisturbed by the bustling merchants selling produce from the upper levels and enjoyed the breezy air flowing through the miniscule pockets of her hood. " YOU CHEATIN' B·tch!" Valkara turned in anger to see the defeated krogan behind her "I'm gonna  feast on those sugar t¡ts right NOW!" He yellowed once again, this time he stumbled to her but Valkara's right hand hand already been enveloped with dark purple biotic then jolt forward sending a throw directly into the krogan's face, rendering him unconscious. Walking over to the body with her hand still active with biotics, Valkara rose her hand to slam in his face  to kill but the sudden sound of c-sec sirens surround the asari who was quickly cuffed and sent away to a detaining cell.

"This is citadel news. Joe Werlanday reporting".

Jess's head tilted back from what was about to be her sixth as she heard the sound of the news broadcast. It was playing loudly enough to overcome the sound of those in the restaurant.

"Reports are continuing to flood in regarding the creatures that unofficial sources are referring to as Aspirant's.....".

Putting down the glass Jess leaned over to the side and  looked towards where she saw several people, staff and customer's alike gathering. Through a gap, she saw a familier sight.

"These pictures, captured by the public, show a clear and present menace that has been arising on three known planet's thus far. The Aspirant creatures have proven violent and attack without provacation and official's are warning all shipping to stay away from the outbreak planets while military forces scramble to contain the threat".

"So far, two planet's, the planet Fazbahn and Noosilia have suffered the most from the outbreak of these creatures some experts are calling a long term genetic experiment that has escaped containment. With high number's of casualties and reports that ports across the planets have been attacked and ships stolen. Thus far no official number's exist on how many have made it off world, but judging from the official missing ships registary, the number of individual's all missing and presumed stolen shipping can contain easily run's into the hundreds of thousands whose ships have scattered throughout the relay network, making finding and tracking down these escapee's an impossible task for military forces. Leading to the question, where did this number of creature's come from"?

"While military and local enforecment official's have managed to lock down and drive back these creatures, on planet's Fazbahn and Noosilia, perhaps the most successful operation to contain these creature's occurred on a remote mining planet of Duellos. Early reports that are still coming in indicate's that an alert was sounded early and a military response brought in to quell the flock's of Aspirant's. Though other reports seem to conflict, suggesting that the military response was mobilised for an entirely unrelated reason. Duellos, which is barely habitable, was reported to have been largely evacuated and several WMD devices exploded in the atmosphere, which, while containing the Aspirant threat, has some lobby groups protesting what they see as the Asari excessive use of force while insisting on sending expert's in to assess the damage done to the planet's fragile ecosystem that was reported to be in the first stages of recovery. The Asari military has refused comment at this time".

"One analyst on the situation had this to say".

A figure moved in and Jess lost sight of the screen while the voice changed to another.

"Our preliminary investigation's of the epicenter of this outbreak lead's us to believe that these so called Aspirant's originated from cult compounds going by the title of Drowned Aspire. While we have yet to confirm this, it is surely not a coincidence that all outbreaks occurred on planet's with these cultist compounds. Unfortunately we do not yet know if the Drowned Aspire are responsible for these outbreak's of mutated humanoid creatures. Nor do we know exactly what they are at this time. And while the scorched Earth approach on Duellos has appeared successful, it is not a solution that can be brought to the other more inhabited planets. The evacuation ability and the emergency shelter facilities just aren't there to contain the number's of civilian's present".

The voice changed again to that of the reporter. "Report's of human and other ships keeping Asari military vessel's back from the planet have recently come in due to public fear's that they intend to bombard the planet's as they did with Duellos. Indeed, public fears are currently at an all time high as reports of disappearing human colonies are now being added to by Aspirant outbreaks, leading to senior public figure's demanding the council act to quell the situation before it spiral's out of control".

"It's plenty spiraled already luv". Jess commented, looking over at Dahlia. "Chin up luv. the good news is that one hundred thousand is a drop in the ocean in the galaxy. Still.... I wonder.... those Aspirant's seem to be showing a good amount of sense.... Grabbing ship;s to get off world. Scattering through the network. Makes organised pursuit impossible....". Jes looked down at her still full glass and pushed it away. "Guess we're going to have to get ready for the next jaunt. Shouldn't be long now".

As the news broadcast continued on Deidrus stood in his quarters aboard the Audron while in front of him were holographic displays of Sparatus and Praetus Acilus of the Hierarchy. The news loop had been pushed to the Praetus where he was stationed on Paliven, and he continued to eye the reporter as the audio faded.

"The first move has been made." The Praetus said as he turned his old eyes to the others. "As of the current trajectories the 'Aspirants' are not going to encroach far enough into Council space to pose a threat to Turian space. Our boarder patrols are still in effect and data nets will be erected for the time being. Until the Council requests it our fleets shall remain at their current holdings."

"The humans are requesting their military to route the Aspirants however this seems to be simultaneously pushing concerns about the disappearing colonies to the side. Even if they were to ask, the Alliance does not have the forces to police its sprawling colonies." Deidrus said, arms crossed and back straight as he spoke to both the Council member and General of the Turian armies. "Human settlements cover thirteen garden worlds in the Terminus, a talon's count of stations and at least four moons. Joint ventures are much more numerous however the trend of abductions points to a density of human population higher than those found in most mixed colonies."

"According to Androkan's reports there is a number of colonies which fit this trend. A comms officer of his named Aelius compiled this list of possible targets and one of the highest risk is a human colony in the Shadow Sea, just outside Alliance Space. Why?" Sparatus had a sharp look in his eyes as he looked to the Suspended Spectre. "The colony is rather close for a Collector attack."

"Because it is a straight launch from the Omega Relay." Deidrus said calmly, accepting that they wouldn't know the connections to a fairly recently opened rely. "From the Hades Gamma mustering point there at least six different relay jumps to be made. With the amount of FTL required to travel between Relays in the same cluster it would be faster to FTL from the Maroon Sea which would require a significant amount of time with uncharted clusters until entering the Shadow Sea. It is devoid of stars and thus planets to expel FTL jump static into. A Collector ship would be able to use the Omega Relay in a straight jump to Horizon, collect, then return to Omega before the Alliance can intervene."

There was a pause as the Praetus creased his brow before speaking. "Why not inform the Humans of this?"

"Because they will be destroyed." Androkan replied simply.

"During an excursion to Omega Deidrus was able to retrieve information on a frigate-class collector vessel. His Saboteurs' analysis of the ship shows that the beam weaponry aboard the ship is probably a Heavy Laser variant. No military-grade weapon of the kind has been developed because of the technical restrictions despite the possible destructive and tactical possibilities such a weapon might grant." Sparatus supplied.

"A spine-mounted device could shear through the hull of a dreadnaught if the scaling is roughly proportional. If they were to attempt to abduct the six-hundred-thousand humans they will require multiple ships for the capital of Discovery alone. If they have a single dreadnaught with the technology it will be a slaughter even if we were to apply massive force." Deidrus continued, unfazed by the prospect and act of staring down two of the strongest Turians in the Galaxy. "I'm requesting that I be allowed to direct Armigers to observe the collecting of the Human population and the technology used. From the work of Elara T'Sophi it is implied that they use a type of stasis swarm to incapacitate the humans before placing them into stasis pods for long-term incubation. As operative directed to analyze and counter the Collector threat I wish to use this potentiality to make certain of some facts."

"Sending Armigers into this colony could be tantamount to a suicide mission." Acilus warned. "And for the confirmation of information you already believe to be true. I find it difficult to authorize such an operation especially if the auspices of the Alliance fall to us."

"Assumptions will be detrimental in the end should we allow complacency when information could be confirmed." Deidrus warned. "The Armigers can be sent through the Suns. They have provided defense systems for a fee in the Terminus for years, it would be no great difficulty to disguise some of our officers. This also provides us with a single probable chance to observe what their ships are and how they operate from the outside. Except for a handful of occasions there have been few reports of repute, one of them my very own, on their technology. A chance to observe their vessels warrants investigation. Even if there are risks involved."

Frank wheeled the squeaky cart towards the C-SEC shuttle bay.  He stopped at the desk before the scanner.

"Träger.  Here with the batarian's equipment."

The turian looked down at a monitor for a moment.  "Lt. Torres authorized this awhile ago, didn't think you were coming." He waved him through. "Engineer Eriksson will show you to the transport."

                                           Priority_Citadel_II.png

"I thought you were supposed to bring the batarian?" The large man asked, as he led Frank through the shuttle bay.

"Yeah, turns out there's a few more checks before we can walk him out.  Figured I'd get this thing loaded up in the mean time."

"Gotcha."  Eriksson stopped at a prisoner transport shuttle and opened the rear doors. "This is the one."

"Mind giving me a hand with this?"

"Sure."

Frank and  Eriksson grabbed an end of the crate, and lifted it into the shuttle.

"Goddamn that thing's heavy.  What the hell's in there?"

"Not sure. I didn't open it." Frank shrugged.

"Let's take a look."

"Wait!" Frank exclaimed, as both men's omni-tools lit up.

"Attention all personnel. This is Lieutenant Alejandro Torres.  The batarian has escaped from interrogation room D. The human from room B is also missing, and is dressed as one of our own. Cover all exits immediately, use any means necessary to prevent them from leaving."

They slowly looked up from their omni-tools in silence, and stared at each other for a moment.  Eriksson's eyes narrowed. "You!"

Frank tried to raise his Vindicator, but Eriksson twisted it from his hand, and landed a powerful right hook above his left eye. He staggered back a few feet, and leaned against a crate.

"This is Eriksson, I need--"

Frank pushed off from the crate and threw all of his 150 lbs at Eriksson, who effortlessly shoved him back.  Frank came at him again, this time with Träger's omni-tool.  Eriksson deflected, and punched him hard in the gut, bringing him to his knees.

"I need--" Eriksson's omni-tool suddenly faded, as Frank laughed weakly on the ground, his personal omni-tool aglow.

"Don't worry, buddy." He wheezed, as he rose from the ground "I got this..."

(Note:  The following was a collaboration with RedBelle. The first paragraph is repeated for recap):

Morgan caught Anika near the restrooms, out of sight of the dining table.  He then motioned for her to follow him into an alcove near the kitchen and a rear exit, just in case one of the other two got curious and went to find them.  Morgan was about to speak when he paused once again to look at the woman who stood over a foot taller than him.  He laughed mentally as he had to shrug off the odd feeling of height intimidation that he never experienced before.

“I understand, Anika, that wherever Jess is going she’s concerned about me being there.  At least that is my guess, and I’m sure you know why, one way or the other.  It’s fine, I don’t want to know.  But…and I’m asking you to do me two favors.  One is don’t let her run off for the Medusa without me.  Not that she’s even thinking about it, but please don’t.”

Anika nodded. "I know.... I know it might seem like she's trying to push you away. But she's not. She'd never do that. What she's doing is what she does to every new person who she takes aboard. She's giving the chance to get out. And believe me. Everytime you say you'll stay, on the inside, she get's this feeling.....".

"She tried to describe it to me once. It's confidence..... in you. It's loyalty to your well being. It's like a warm glow that fills the void and believe, the voids just about everything she has and it needs filling".

"She's not pushing you. Yes she's worried for you. But deep down she worries about all her people and.... your, looking like you might be her people".

"She won't leave you behind. She's making sure, absolutely sure that it's not her dominating you. That if there's any doubt in you that you have an out. Because there's going to come a point of no return when you have to commit. Maybe you are now. but it's unspoken. If your prepared to go all in your presence will show her your commitment..... But take it from me. A woman still like to hear the words. For a person taken as crew to stand and declare their intent".

"She'll ask you for it. In the meantime, if you do think she's pushing you away, push back in. It's different for her this time. Every captain, deep down, think's their invincible but she's just discovered she's not. It would have been kinder if she'd died with her crew. She's living with failure over her crew and your seeing right now, just how much regard she has for her crew".

Morgan looked at Anika with an admiration. "You're irreplacable, you know that, right? She's got to let you go, and yet, I'm sure she's wondering how could she?

"There are more than a few levels we could be talking about things here. But I'm telling you, Anika, because she trusts you. I trust you. I can't get some things through to her and it's fine, it really is. She's more to me than a captain I'm going along with. If she doesn't want more, then that's fine. But I'm telling you because you know, I think. You know that the concerns she has about me are really nothing. Maybe she just wants to make sure I can handle it. And I understand it isn't the person you meet on the street every day who can.

"The other favor I want to ask you is for you to do the thing you do best with her...be her bodyguard. But you know she's not thinking like she normally does. I haven't been around her as much as you and I know that. I'm worried she's going to make a mistake...step over something she normally doesn't. I know what she's up against more than she does, and she's not talking, she's not asking before she's doing. It isn't her normal way. And beyond worrying about her, I'm counting on you to let me know...to tell me...if she's in deep trouble. Because I'll come. There is nothing that will stop me from coming to get her, and make sure she's safe."

Morgan leaned in towards Anika, peering up into her towering form. "Can you do that for me, Anika? Can you let me know if she's down and needs help getting out?"

"You mean spy on her"? Anika raised an eyebrow. Then grunted. "To be frank, I'm worried about her too. Okay. I'll let you know how she's doing. But as a concerned friend. Okay"?

She paused as if debating whether to go on. "To be honest, she has been acting, strangely when your around. I don't know how she feel's. It's that mask of being captain she wear's. She worn it for so long that it's a part of her. I don't think she can just give it up. But she tend's to be.... I don't know.... A little more playful when your around. Before the business with her ship. I don't know what's going on between you two but Jess isn't exactly a one man woman..... just be ready to face that side of her. And by extension, she doesn't expect you to commit to her entirely.... It's the life of a long hauler. You go in for the money. You live with people so long it's like being part of a family, you find way's to wile away the time. Some people use the extranet. Some study for qualifications. Other's focus on their duties. Nearly everyone bump pelvis's at sometime.....".

"....Then again, she was acting weird around you so.... I don't know. That's if your thinking of getting romantically involved. She's practically wed to her ship. I yet to meet someone who could convince her to same a second love".

"But don't worry about being called up. If your there for her, she'll call you. Jess knows her limits. She know's she's better off with someone watching her back. And I'm glad there will be another pair of eye's looking out for her~".

Morgan listened. He laughed internally at one point, but gave nothing away. After Anika spoke, he nodded.

"You can tell her anything I said here, this isn't some secret. It's about getting through. I can't give you a history...I'm not going to be so unkind as to bore you with details."

A brief, subconscious peek to make sure no one was around, then Morgan went on. "There's some bad news I have to have you give to her...she may not afford me the chance with how she's been. Tell her I did a job for Miss Priss which got her a refund if she hasn't noticed, but also that when Priss contacted me about it, she let me know Miss Shiana was murdered. It's a weird one, and something's got my me particularly bothered about it, beyond the normal course of risks for their kind of profession.

"And then there's Dahlia...," Morgan trailed off. "I want to tell Jess myself but again...she's got her ship she's thinking about. Tell her I want Dahlia to come along, but I've got a concern about the her. Dahlia's got a mad crush I think. She says all the right words, and yet...It isn't a problem I can't handle. I wanted Jess to know...because I want Dahlia to come through it. And I want her to come with us. Dahlia's a black sheep. Being with us feels right, if you follow me. I almost wish Dahlia were here having this conversation with us." Morgan looked to Anika to see if she understood.

Anika looked up towards where their table would have been had the view not been obstructed. "Dahlia? I've seen her hanging around you a lot.... I guess Jess wouldn't mind. She's always willing to give potential new crew a chance. And a crush? Really"?

Anika smirked. "Why Morgan.... you silver tongued fox you.... You know by Asari standards she's old enough.....". She paused. "Actually you probably don't want to know. Jess won't be worried though. Unless she's crushing on you too.....". Anika's eye's drifted to a far away place as she murmered. "Actually that would explain a lot". She blinked and focused back on Morgan. "Sorry. We should head back. Don't want Jess thinking I've lost my touch getting out of this thing". She banged her fist on her armored torso.

Jess's comm pinged again and she looked at it, expecting a response from Arthur. Instead, she got an update from the Audron. From across teh table Dahlia's omni-tool went off as well.

"Look's like our rides here". Jess observed. "Time to see what these new ship's are all about". She let out a long sigh. "I like a new ship. I really do. But dig beneath the hull and system's and you find all sort's of problems. Shave's from engineer's trying to pass a poor job off as a good one. Bad system compatibility since the system's usually get installed without an software specialist spending a month digging out all the bugs. You know, one alliance ship fresh out the shipyard got pummeled by pirate's after they got off one shot. The reason? The return volley shook the ship and stressed the ceramic seat rails that makes the chair's go back and forth so much all the seat's shattered the rails and the one's sitting went flying. Took out half the ship operator's who were frantically unbuckling to try and get back to their posts..... Luckily for the them the pilot was an old jock who spotted the rails and replaced his with steel ones. Got the ship out of dodge fast..... It's alway's the little things that some ship designer keeps trying to improve on that ends up breaking. Anyway. I'll settle the bill. Let's get Morgan and Anika back and go see our new ship".

"Ma'am, if you would tell me the contents of the transfer?"

"Cabal standard Tariimer armor V, M21- Carthage, M10 Raptor Marksman Rifle, Daedalus VShot, Carnifex handcannon. And a helmet." Eteon rattled off boredly as the Req officer scanned the transfer case to make sure that the listed items were inside. Eteon was staring up to the ceiling and humming to herself while she tried to think of what else was in there. Ah. Right, Clothes. "Also standard Hierarchy uniform and armor."

The Asari looked up and her brow creased slightly before smiling. "You are allowed to bring civilian clothes for times at rest."

Eteon looked down to the woman then down to herself and the tunic ensemble she was wearing. "I'm wearing the civilian clothes now. I do not intend to strip before entering the ship."

The req officer looked like she was about to say something but held her tongue. It was a joke of course, but Eteon feared the boredom may have neutered her delivery some. The Asari nodded before looking through the contents of the case and Eteon went back to looking around the empty room. So an Asari ship, probably. The name sounds Drell to me but if the Asari are captaining it then it is probably at least something of their make.

Most the time in the transition was probably verifying what the weapons were. Since the M21 wasn't standard issue at all and a supply line for the ammunition would need to be ascertained, and the Daedalus wasn't often distributed due to a Turian preference for the long-range. The others would probably get through more easily since they probably didn't have annoyingly specific weaponry to look out for.

Actually... How's Vayne doing? Or any of my Aliens? Well they weren't 'her aliens' anymore since she wasn't in charge as liaison anymore. They were still hers though. Despite the fact all of them were older than her.

She decided to shoot a message off to Vayne. She could see the rest of them sticking together though the Krogan needed to get his armor dealt with probably causing him to split from the rest.

Vayne,

How are the armor repairs? It seems like we will be dusting off soon enough so I hope you could find some old Krogan who's been around long enough to patch your armor up. I'm now doing the customs dance so thought I would check in on some of you all.

Eteon.

Vayne looked to his omnitool as it pinged, looking to it as he grinned and typed back.

Eteon,

I managed to snag myself a turian who knows his stuff. If I'm ever around I might take one of his travel packs as well, see some unknown part of space and shoot stuff for fun instead of credits. :P

Wish I'd had more time, but if we're shoving off soon I'll hurry things up. The ship got enough room for my shuttle?

"Your things have cleared inspection Miss Draiken." The Asari said and stood from behind the counter. "I recommend that you conserve the exotic munitions because it is likely that there will be times where they are unable to be found."

That's the life of a Cabal. She thought to herself before thanking the woman and moving towards the seats so she could wait for anyone else coming through to the platform.

Vayne,

No idea. Haven't seen the ship yet since I have been moving my stuff through customs. I guess it will be a similar size to the Audron in Length at least, thought if it is thinner then it might not have the room. You would have to ask Naleena unless she sent you an authorization for info release on the ship. I don't have one, but then again I don't really need one.

They let me stow all my things though, so they probably have a decent-sized armory. Or they expect me to stow high explosives under my bunk. I'm hoping for the former.

There were still some tiny blood particles in the apartment. However, since Riso was already assumed dead, it would be assumed his blood got in the apartment before dying, unless someone got a blood transfusion and was stabbed. Another easy bounty. Riso could run; hiding was a different story.

Since the Citadel had artificial day and night times, it never rained. Avan wished it would. Raining reminded him of his homeworld. It had been some time since he visited the planet, so he decided to rent another room and stay for a few days, check out the food and drinks. They might have a good pistol for sale. The Citadel only had 1 or 2 black markets. It wasn't Omega. And all of the official weapons were Alliance brand that had plenty of red-tape and "don't-use-this-for" or "don't add these" and to make it useful for a dangerous line of work, it would have to be taken apart and have several upgrades and enhancements. The pistol melee stunner and pistol magazine upgrade were on a lot of black market guns, and it's always nice when they're already added so Avan could skip to the next step in upgrades.

The Citadel's backdrops were always fascinating. There was an ornate fountain in a center of a rail beside the river. The males and females of every type all looked incredibly fancy. Avan just wanted to steal some of their clothes. As he kept walking by stores by the presidium, he continued to smoke the cigarette he had and let out an long puff. "Sir, no cigarettes are allowed on the Presidium." An automated android had walked to Avan and started talking.

"Oh? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of that rule. That's odd."

"It is because of the attack of 2183. Since then, anything flammable on the Presidum is forbidden for use. No cigarettes, flame throwers, or anything that can create fire, unless by a staff memb-"

"Excuse me, I think there's something wrong with your coding. Let me just open this socket and take a look at your wires." Avan said as he took the android and turned it around.

"Sir? Sir! You are not allowed to change my programming unless you are a staff member or have been authorized by-"

"Don't worry, I know what you need here. Just a simple mistake. Almost done. Annnd, there we are." Avan smiled as he turned the android back around.

"Hello sir, please enjoy smoking! Have a nice day!"

"You too." He smiled as he walked off.

The droid continued to stand in its place as an an asari and her girlfriend walked by. The android jumped in excitement and walked up to them. "Hello sir, please enjoy smoking! Have a nice d-"

The couple were spooked and quickly walked away.

Naleena left the ship and walked to the cafe on the concourse across from the Janiri. She bought a cup of coffee, sat at a table and opened her omni-tool. Let's see what the Council has given me in these dossiers. Essul Aizheya Ran'perah, Batarian; location, Citadel. He could be anywhere. Why would the Council have a Batarian on the list? Interesting.

Avan Rezal; Human; Merc; Combat Engineer... worked with Zaeed Masani.... interesting.... Location - Citadel. I'll have to look for him.

Valkara; Asari; Assassin; age 126... *laughs* ... she's a bit unstable... this ought to be interesting. I wonder why she chose the profession? Location: In custody at C-sec. Well at least I don't have to hunt the Citadel.

Naleena finished her coffee, and left a tip on the table. She hailed a taxi and took it to C-sec. The taxi parked out front and Naleena exited. She entered the building and walked up to the front desk.

The Turian officer behind the desk looked up at the tall Asari. "Can I help you, Ma'am?"

"You have an Asari in custody by the name of Valkara," Naleena set her Council dossier on the desk and showed her Spectre ID, "I need her released into my custody for a mission."

"Sorry, I can't do that. Captain Bailey's orders," the officer said, "If you want her released, you'll have to talk to him."

"I don't think you understand. I'm a Spectre."

"And if I release her it's my job. Talk to Bailey," the officer reiterated, "His office is up those stairs, down the hall and to your left."

Naleena sighed. She turned and went to Bailey's office. Bailey was seated behind his desk. He had a mug of coffee, a half-eaten donut on the desk, and he was doing paperwork. Naleena knocked and entered.

"So you must be that new Spectre I've been hearing about," Bailey said, "And you're already causing trouble in my station."

"Captain, I'm just doing my job. You have someone in custody whom the Council gave me a dossier to recruit for my mission," Naleena said, "I need her released."

"Absolutely not," Bailey said, "She's a fugitive who is wanted on several charges. Plus she's crazy."

"I need her released."

"Do me a favor. Talk to her first," Bailey said, "If you still feel that way after you've done that, I'll release her. I'll have her brought up to the visitation area and put in an interview room."

"Very well, then. Bring her up."

Naleena went downstairs into the visitation area. They were bringing in Valkara who was wearing handcuffs, and Valkara caught a view of a tall Asari wearing black commando leathers, black leather boots, and wearing a full length black leather coat that trailed behind her approaching from the opposite end of the corridor. Valkara was taken into the interview room. Naleena spoke briefly with the guard outside, and then entered the room.

Naleena sat back in the chair opposite Valkara, took out a cigarette, lit it, took a deep drag off it and exhaled the smoke through her nose as she spoke. "So, you're Valkara. I've heard quite a bit about you from C-sec. It seems that you have quite a colorful past. Captain Bailey suggested that I speak with you. Oh, how rude of me. I'm Naleena T'sarius. I'm a Council Spectre. The Council thinks I could use you on my mission. I'd like you to tell me why. And I'd like you to tell me why Bailey refuses to release you into my custody."

Valkara had asked the C-sec personnel to not remove her hood nor lower it for identification, it was also to stop the asari from having a panic attack from the containment building's dazzling lights. As Valkara walked between two guards who clenched her upper arms and guided her out of her cell and toward the visitation room, she glimpsed at a tall asari dressed in noir leather before sitting down, not knowing if the asari was a commando or someone to take her back to the asylum after all these years. As she placed her cuffed hands on the metallic table, the mysterious asari also sat down and began to ask Valkara questions while smoking a cigarette.

"Well givin' the unnecessary circumstances... its quite a pleasure to meet you." Valkara said calmly and quickly but shown no indication of the anxiety leaving her body from acknowledging the asari was a spectre and not take her away to an asylum. However, Valkara still wondered why the council would mention to include an assassin on a professional mission. "Colourful past?" she paused to giggle at the comment before continuing "My past has been black and white since the start of my teenage years. But anyway, back to the question. Firstly I'm an assassin as you already know, particularly skilled in stealth combat but can go behind enemy lines undetected." Another paused occurred until Valkara spoke again, this time in a friendlier tone " Apart from my physical combat, I am a tactical person with an adept in battle strategy. Lastly, I can process data at a rapid pace, which would come in handy when briefing a task to A crew."

Moments later, Valkara's eyes moved to check the cameras that were pinpoint on her, although c-sec couldn't see where she was looking, they had full audio of the two's conversation. " Coming to that bastard Bailey, he thinks I'm crazy and unfit for society. But the truth is he just wants to keep me with him!" Valkara chuckled to herself, but what she did not know was her mental disorder; it was a subconscious condition meaning Valkara has never known about it nor accepted it when at the asylum.

Vayne read over the message as he smirked, typing out a quick message before the turian weapons worker came back inside.

"It's all done now." Etran said as vayne looked over his red armor, giving a whistle. "I know right? Managed to incorporate a lot of new upgrades seamlessly, though like I said, the magnetic handgrips had to get taken out."

"Where are they now?" Vayne asked as he ran a hand over the sleek ceramic alloy mix of his dark red armor, eye glistening as he reached up and wiped a small bit of moisture aside. It really was a breathtaking sight, and he didn't think he'd be so glad to see his armor back in one piece, his real armor, not the pirates fatigue he;d worn up till now.

"They're stored in the safebox, same as your other purchase. Have to say, you krogans have a way with armor options. Turian armor doesn't nearly have enough usable space as this does." Etran said as he held out a clawed hand, "It was a pleasure doing business with you, Vayne."

Vayne smiled as he returned the handshake, "Likewise with you, Etran..." he said with a nod before his armors carrying case was sealed up, vayne moving it out as it floated magnetically with ease.

Out of the store and back into the flow of the Zakera wars, Vayne made his way towards the elevators back towards where the ship was going to be docked. As he got near the elevator he typed out the last of his message, sending it to eteon.

E,

They better have a lot of space for the equipment I'll be moving. C-sec won't be a problem this time with that, trust me.

I'll get my stuff moved, hopefully to a room that's not so asari like on the ship. Never did like their interior design much.

-Vayne.

As frank had struggled with the c-sec officer in the shuttle bay, the crate was pounded from the inside from essul, hearing the struggle outside as he worked to get the crate open. He felt a heavy bang against the side of the crate and worked faster, punching the lid from his cramped position s best he could but to no avail, lacking enough leverage to do much of anything.

Essul began to breath quicker and quicker, eyes darting this way and that in the dark room, illuminated by his visors enhanced vision. He was trapped in a dark small box with no way out and he was stuck and it was dark and he couldn't move and he couldn't breath and he was trapped and trapped and trapped and-

Essul closed his eyes as fear began to overtake him, working to try and stop his own minds blind panic as one of his worst fears was playing out before him. He needed to think of a plan, and he needed to do so with a clear head.

Jess stood by the cashier desk as she transferred funds. Dahlia stood off by the door to the exit and Jess saw Morgan and Anika approach her. Waiting for the credit's to clear, the waiter nodded with a stuffy demeaner. "Thank you miss. And come again. Perhap's in something that that can be ironed instead of panal beaten".

Jess looked down at her armour and looked up with a frown. "Luv.... I'm wearing the most expensive suit in the place. So believe me when I say..... the tip you just lost, will be missed".

Striding away from the waiter staring dagger's into her back she approached the group. "Didn't even get a mint". She griped. "Guy's.... Our ship's in. Concourse C. Gate C-1. Guess it's time to grab our gear and shift it across".

"A ship, fresh off the production line". Anika grinned. "I can't wait".

"No cutting coolent lines luv".

"It was one time! And the food will be amino based"!

"Just mean's I need to fit where ever we end up with a data centre. We need to keep tab's on the K&Q fleet. Eye's and ear's everywhere. Time to bring the big guns to the mission".

"You think the Jeniri has big guns"?

Jess rolled her eye's. "Sure luv. She's a warship. i suspect her gun's fall under the big variety".

"The Medusa never had guns that big".

"That's because the Medusa is a wolf in sheep's clothing. She's not built to slug it out at long range. The missle system can punch at that range but the distance mean's easy intercept's. The ship's made to do one thing and one thing well..... Play possum so a ship come's sidling up and then bare her fang's and tear the flank out of whoever's unlucky enough to be on the receiving end".

"We.... haven't ever done that".

"Good planning and making sure no one can pin us down luv.... though Griff and his squadren can certainly attest to the fighter screen she can throw up".

"You know... eventually all that shot's going to hit something".

"Not our problem luv. Fighting for our live's.... that was a problem. C'mon. Everything's in the skycar. We can move your stuff over in it too if you like". She said to Dahlia and Morgan as she walked out the front door.

"Hold on, let me make sure I get my things," Morgan said.  He hesitated possibly two seconds before then saying, "Okay, I've got it all now.  Ready to go."

"Onwards! To the ship"! Jess swayed slightly as she made off, the five amber's she had downed messing with her center of gravity.

"Captain"! Anika called out. "Concourse C is.... that way".

All three stood and watched as Jess paused. Did an about turn. Then moving forward, past them.....

"Onwards! To the ship"!

The Citadel did feel like quite a vacation spot. Anyone could get away from their troubles by spending a few days here. If you spent too much time, you might get comfortable and not want to leave.

Using the rapid transit, Avan traveled from area to area until he was getting bored. After doing some shopping in the Zakera Ward, he thought about going to the Silversun Strip and hacking some of the games in the Castle Arcade. The Armax Arsenal was fun but too easy. Shooting holographic enemies isn't as fun as hunting down desperate individuals with prices on their heads. No children, that was his only rule. Other than that, he'd kill anyone unfortunate enough to have a high credit amount attached to their name.

Avan saw a holographic figure he was familiar with. He walked up to Anivia and logged into the terminal.

"No no... Jess... Jess... don't..... Your not driving"!

Back on the Audron, Jess, Anika, Morgan and Dahlia were standing outside the skycar. Dahlia was leaning with her back against the door, barring Jess entrance as Anika stood before her with her arm's wrapped around Jess as Jess tried to get past her.

"I'm fine"! she protested, slurring her words slightly. "I don't get drunk on five....".

"You haven't slept in.... how long now"! Anika retorted. "Just give me the Omni key"!

Morgan stood of to the side, his expression bemused.

"Come on, Jess," Morgan suggested, "Hop with me in the back seat.  Let someone else pilot the skycar.  Enjoy the ride."

Vayne walked out of the elevator happily as he hummed a tune he'd once heard in one of omegas clubs, fingers tapping lightly as he pushed his armor case through in front of him. As he came to the customs office, c-sec moved to stop him, which was when he showed them his omnitool, still with the clearance eteon had managed to snag him, and he went through.

He was whistling by the time the got out, a full smile on his face as he approached the audron, and came upon the fight of captain stone being wrestled with by morgan and anika. His whistling slowed and then stopped, and he stood 10 feet away as he watched the spectacle.

Then he walked around them, a simple and curt "Nope." his only greeting as he walked into the audron to help collect his things. And of course, to get his special smuggling crates.

Jess looked over at Morgan. "M'captain! Can drive m'own skycar". Finally she slumped into Anika's arm's. "S'fine. Mutineers. Rogue's. Y'all in it together".

Naleena took a drag off her cigarette, then sat up in her chair and looked directly at Valkara. "It is obvious from reading your file and listening to you speak that you enjoy killing. That is where you and I are different. I do not enjoy killing even though I am an assassin by profession. However, I am your key to getting out of here, and that means I have to trust you. Do you understand me? What can you tell me that will make me trust you?"

You're not wrong. But don't let that get in the way of your decision." Replied Valkara, trying not to sound like a cold hearted killer; the young asari still had some warmth inside her but it could never flare and shine through to others. "I understand, Naleena. I rarely make promises... but when I do I never break them," Valkara's tone had become more convincing through their conversation " so I solemnly promise to work under your command as well as follow the orders you give."

Naleena left the file on the table and sat back in her chair. She could not make out the Asari's face from under the hood. I can understand why she doesn't want to be seen while at work, but I cannot understand why C-sec has allowed her to wear the hood. She is a prisoner here. Naleena scanned the Asari with her omni-tool on IR, and got a facial image displayed on her ocular lens. She took a deep breath. "I'll accept your word for now, but bear this in mind: on my ship there are rules. We follow orders - my orders, and the orders of those to whom I delegate responsibilities. Should you go on a killing spree, harm any member of my crew or guest on my ship I will not hesitate to drop you off on the nearest asteroid. So, do we have an agreement?"

"I won't break my promise." Said Valkara still in a solemn tone. Listening to Valeena's long speech of commands, Valkara accepted her terms and wouldn't go against " I understand Naleena, you have a job to do and like me or not, I won't get in your way, that's for certain." Valkara paused before quickening adding "I agree."
