"So, Valkara, why don't you tell me about yourself," Naleena said, "I know it's all in the file, but I want to hear it from you. There is so much more a voice can tell me, and trust me, they know what you look like. They took that on IR as did I. You can take off the hood."

"Tell me what happened then," Naleena said, and she pushed a cup of water toward the younger Asari with the finger tips of her right hand.

Naleena picked up her folder again and flipped through it. She took another drag on her cigarette, the smoke leaving her mouth as she spoke. "Ah yes, the hospital. Your file says that you were hospitalized for very severe manic episodes, and that a combination of ECT and medication proved to be effective. That is a last line treatment for very severe cases. You were released under the condition that you continue to take your medication, otherwise you could be subject to relapses. Have you been taking your medication?"

Eteon walked onto the main throughfare of the second floor of the Janiri and looked around. The command deck obviously wasn't near the front, and walking back along the hall she found the command deck. There was a few different species manning the systems that looked to her shortly before returning to their screens. Apparently it wasn't that weird to see a woman with a large black coffin of a case walk through. Amazing. she thought to herself before walking through to the lifts. Different species, same tendency to stare blankly at screens.
She looked over the options for the lift and by order of elimination selected the fourth floor. First floor is for X and C, bottom floor for engineering by the ID requirements, one below me is probably crew deck, and below that would be... What? Med bay?
Deciding she would learn more quickly if she just went to check it all out, she selected the fourth floor and rode it down.

Naleena remained calm. She extinguished her cigarette and looked up from the file with her eyes. "Valkara, the Asari haven't imprisoned and tortured people with mental disorders for over 2500 years. Our hospitals are now the finest in the galaxy." She tapped her omni-tool and looked up Valkara's specific diagnosis. "I see two problems. You are obviously off your meds, and second, you would not be aware that you were having a relapse so how would you know how to control it? See that's the problem with a mental disorder," Naleena gestured with her right hand. "We depend upon our minds to determine what is real and what is not real. Do you follow me? And when our minds are disordered we have difficulty making that determination. And if you did escape as you say you did, you're in much more danger than you realize. Your treatment was incomplete."
She closed the folder again. "But there is good news. We have both a physician and a mental health counselor on my ship. If you are to serve on my ship, I want you to be under their care. Do you agree to those terms?"

"Izzat all you got?" Frank slurred, wiping blood from his mouth as he stood. "I'm gonna... Ima have ta..." He looked at Eriksson with blurred vision, with his unswollen eye. "...kick botha your asses."
Eriksson hit Frank with a textbook one-two combination, putting him on the ground.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank lay dazed on the ground, catching only bits and pieces of what Eriksson was saying.
"...got the human. Yeah. Shuttle bay..."
"...a persistent little..."
"...like he's stuck in the crate..."
"...going anywhere. Come get 'em."

Previously...( http://forum.bioware...res/?p=17103772 )
Cluster unknown, System unknown, aboard the Medusa
One of the mercenaries under Golt, a human woman in Scorpion armor, worked at a monitoring station in the engine room of the Medusa. She had called one of the nearby misfit pets that Iyana had brought on board the ‘rat man’.
Golt wondered at what kind of sick joke the ‘rat man’ was.
To Golt, the human man, crouched over and scampering about in a haphazard fashion, reminded him more of a pyjak. Rat man wore a plain gray armored skin suit, with the helmet removed, despite Iyana warning all aboard to keep vacuum safe in the event of a decompression. His nose was long, his hair was falling out naturally, and he had thick, unruly eyebrows, not to mention his lower jaw was receded so far his top teeth were constantly exposed.
Rat man had to be warned once by Golt to keep his distance. Rat, pyjak or otherwise, the human…thing…was overly curious about the krogan, despite supposedly being assigned to assist with the engine. It wasn’t that rat man didn’t do his job. It was that at every moment he didn’t have to, rat man would watch Golt, or worse, try to talk to him.
Twice, Golt had gotten fed up with him and taken a swipe. One hit would have crippled, if not killed, the thin, lightly armored human. But rat man was fast, and observant, fleeing far before the threat of physical consequence could be realized. He could climb, too. On Golt’s second attempt, rat man had leapt up into the exposed ceiling piping to avoid harm.
“Rat man,” the woman called, “Help me stabilize the core energy bleed.”
The rat man cautiously headed over to another terminal. Both the humans had to keep an eye on the Medusa’s eezo core, which apparently took some careful handling. It was beyond Golt, and for the most part, it simply looked like they worked a bunch of holo slides and graph readouts. To entertain himself, Golt thought back on Luscious’ face when he watched his crew executed by Iyana. It elicited a chuckle from him.
Rat man noticed as he finished whatever he was doing, and crawled just out of arm’s reach to Golt. “Krogan laughs?” rat man asked Golt aloud. “He must be remembering. Perhaps of his time as a pirate.”
Golt didn’t know if he hated rat man referring to him as if he was talking to someone else, but he snarled. “That was two hundred years ago. Don’t you worry about that, scrawny gray creature.”
“I heard he killed his captain, pirate that he was, then left him high and dry.”
Baring his teeth, Golt barked at rat man, “Maybe I am laughing at how I killed someone. Maybe I’ll catch you next and see what it’s like to fold a human in half.”
The woman cleared her throat nervously.
“No, no, I heard it was because this pirate leader brought himself trouble,” rat man almost apologized, “And Golt showed him what happens.”
“I did,” Golt said, relaxing and leaning back with a grin. “Though he wouldn’t have had to worry if it wasn’t for a traitor pirate helping the turians clear us out. I’d like to get my hands on him one day and rip the plate from his head.”
Rat man tilted his head in curiosity. “Another krogan? He never found him?”
A further snarl came from Golt before he answered. “Too much time doing other tasks. Who knows, maybe they threatened him. It doesn’t matter to me. But I have some personal attention I’ll give to Kavadar Vayne if I ever meet him, that clan named coward.”

Naleena stood. "Guard."
The guard opened the door. Naleena left the room, and contacted Bailey on the com terminal. "Captain Bailey, this is Naleena."
"So you interrogated Valkyra?" Bailey asked.
"Yes, I did. I would like her released into my custody. She has agreed to enter treatment under the care of the physicians on the Janiri. We have a mental health counselor," Naleena said.
"Are you sure you want to do this? That nut case could go on a killing spree any time." Bailey said.
"I'm sure you heard the entire conversation, Bailey. You are aware of my terms and conditions. You may release her." Naleena said.
"Very well. She's your problem now." Bailey said, "Guard, you may uncuff Valkyra."
Naleena re-entered the room with the guard who removed the cuffs from Valkara. "Valkyra, the guard will escort you to the evidence room and your belongings will be returned to you. Report to the guards at gate C-1. Once aboard the ship, report to the quartermaster. He's a Turian named Septerax. He'll assign your quarters. Then check in with Commander Tolus, the ship's doctor, and make an appointment with Lt. Cmdr. Axanni. It was a pleasure chatting with you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have another visitation to make."

Naleena was on her way to the front of the building when she received a page. It was Bailey.
"Spectre, it appears we have another one of yours in custody." Bailey said. "His name is Frank Eli. He said he knows you."
Naleena sighed. What is it about the people we're picking up? Criminals, all of them. She laughed to herself. "What did he do?"
"We caught him in the old Batarian Consulate office with a Batarian terrorist." Bailey replied.
"What the hell? Take him to the visitation area. I'll be right down."

Frank sat in the visitation area, nursing his newly-acquired headache. He breathed through his mouth, his nose plugged, now a little off centered. He held ice to the left side of his face, to control the swelling.
"You think it's bright enough in here?" He asked the guard, who promptly ignored him.
"Did you really contact who I asked you to?" He shook his head. "You C-SEC boys have your heads so far up your asses, I wouldn't be surprised if a hanar showed up instead."

In another visitation room next to Frank's, essuls crate sat eith two guards nearby. Considering the trouble their captive had caused, his current confinement suited them just fine.

"Frank, you're a mess. What the hell happened? and orange isn't your color." Naleena said with a chuckle.

"Well, apparently 'Engineer Eriksson' is an amateur boxing champion here on the Citadel." Frank shrugged. "He's lucky I went easy on him."
"Please, tell me what you already know about the current situation, and we'll go from there. It's a rather long story."

"I was, in fact, busted with a batarian." Frank nodded. "But I wasn't trying to break into the consulate. Hell, I don't even know if he was trying to bust into the consulate."
"I was helping him out with his armor, when C-SEC showed up and took us in."

"Okay, Frank, this is good. You were helping him with his armor, and C-sec showed up and busted you," Naleena said, "Last I checked doing that isn't a crime. Did they explain why you're here and how you could end up in a prison for a very long time? I'd just like things clarified a bit, you know, in exchange for you fixing my shuttle that time. So why don't you tell me the whole story in 100 words or less."

"Well I know why I was originally brought in. It was just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was at the scene of a rather messy shootout, you know. The worst thing I did up to that point was impersonate an officer."
"Luckily, the news made me look like a big hero. I'm sure they would have released me eventually." Frank smiled. "And that would have been great, except I told the batarian that I'd get us both out, and there's no way they were just going to let him walk. I mean, he actually killed a fair number of people-- no civilians though, just Suns. Good riddance, I say."
"After a few hours, I made my move. I subdued the guard in my room, and stole his gear. Followed Lt.Torres to the batarian, subdued him too, and used his omni-tool to get my own equipment out of evidence. It was f*cking brilliant."
"Tried smuggling the batarian out in the evidence crate. I got as far as the shuttle bay, before Torres came to, and alerted the station. Eriksson stomped my ass, and now I'm here."

"JESS LET GO OF THE WHEEL!!! YOU'LL KILL US ALL"!
Apparently not sleeping and the drinking had led to a slow burn on Jess's ability to fight off the effect's of alcohol. They were almost at the ship when Jess had leaned forward, insisted on taking the wheel to park it, and grabbed the control's with a death grip. Anika normally wouldn't have had trouble fighting someone for control but that damn right arm of hers.....
The skycar wobbled and rolled and narrowly avoided several other moving shipping vehicle's in the the assigned traffic corridor. ""JESS"! Anika wasn't sure which of them was actually flying as they narrowly avoided a C-Sec patrol car who turned, siren's blaring and gave pursuit as the loading area of the Jeniri in front of the main loading hatch.
Dahlia was clung onto her arm, trying vainly to dislodge her while Morgan tried to pull her back into the back seat with him. How Jess was resisting and still patially controlling the skycar was a mystery and one Anika knew how to solve.
She let go with one hand, extended it forwards, and brought the elbow back into Jess's nose. The crack was audible and Jess let go, flying back into the back seat at the same time Anika spun the control's and brought the skycar into a controlled slide that spun them around in a three sixty before it settled.
"Goddess.... Back seat driver's". Anika shook her head. "She's going on sleep pill's once the alcohol wear's off". She looked backwards and saw Jess leant up agaist Morgan's shoulder, snoring softly. "Give me strength....".
The C-Sec car alighted near them. It's canopy opening and a fat, overweight human officer turned in his seat. Planting one foot down on the deck plating with a thunk. Then the other. Planting both hand's on the cruiser's frame he levered himself up to standing as from the other side a stick thin Turian emerged wearing an visor that displayed information to his eye's. The Fat man pulled up his belt and looked their way. Then turned before he began to slowly move towards the skycar. Pulling out a zap stick that was yet not switched on he stopped and tapped it against the window.
Anika sighed and triggered the canopy release before looking at the fat man. Trying to ignore that the interior was stuffed with weapon crates, high priced clothes and a bleeding and unconcious woman in bee striped armour sitting among two armoured humans and an Asari maiden.
"Is there problem.... Officer"?

"License and registration," the C-Sec officer said in a stern voice, and then drew out the word, "Ma'am."
Perfect, Morgan sarcastically said to himself. He looked at drunk, passed out, broken nosed Jess leaning on him. Snoring softly. Through her broken nose.
Sometimes, an alcohol driven lunatic moment deserved a little love and tenderness.
And sometimes, after you've almost been killed by an alcohol driven lunatic moment, and pulled over by the police in a car with weapons and people with possibly criminal records....
Morgan put a hand on Jess shoulder and pushed her away from him, to thump and slump against the other side of the car.
The human officer noticed. "Sir, try not to move. I have little tolerance today for soldiers who decide their shore leave should be spent loading up on weapons, flying like a bunch of hooligans to threaten the skies of peace loving citizens, and pick up the local asari talent for a little drunk party back at wherever the hell they came from. You, pilot, license and registration!"
