Not expecting the noise Eteon twitched in place before letting out a sigh. She was a bit hair-trigger when she wasn't expecting anything, and despite the fact she may have passed a practice hall before, she wasn't expecting the noise. Biotic? So Asari? She is not a standard with that hood, and if they were to pull someone onto the ship I would think choosing more variance in skills would take precedence.
The guess was a bit premature, it could be any biotic but seeing as she hadn't run into anyone else on the level it was probably Valkara. When Eteon arrived at the entrance to the combat chambers she was proven right. Seeing it depopulated was another thing which was off. Turian sparring halls were usually- You aren't on the Audron anymore. Stop expecting similarities.
Unfortunately when she entered the room words were difficult to come by because there wasn't a lot to say to those who were... Passive-aggressive?
"Do you know if there are any restrictions on the use of this room?" When in doubt, be stuffy.

"Definitely Asari." Eteon said aloud unabashedly. It was a generalization of course, but she couldn't resist it after the flirtatious comment. It was so...
Ignore it. She thought, which was the best course of action. Procrastination on the front of advances seemed like the best course of action, despite the fact that she was dryly thinking to herself When has that ever worked in anything you have attempted in life. "Thanks." The vowel sound was drawn out and toned down before the sound finished. Flirtation aside she still wanted to know what the holodeck access times were. Seemed a good idea to know them if she wanted to punch something.
Segue.
"Turian biotics are athletics and fields based." She explained, trying to not repeat the old and oft-repeated words of her instructor. "It involves a lot of barrier work, techniques for mass distribution and manipulation, and warping." The spiel was cut short when she heard herself fall into old talking points. "In short, it's about making things closer to you act the way you want them to. It's not projectiles like disassociation and force biotics."

Eteon nodded. "Biotics have as many applications as you want, so long as there is a force," she raised one hand, "and an object." she raised the other. "Everything between the effect of one on the other is a matter of skill and strength." She dropped her hands to her sides and shrugged a shoulder. "Barriers are some of the most useful catalysts because any young biotic knows how to create one. It makes it a simple endeavor to do things for yourself like make yourself lighter or heavier. Make strikes hit harder, or control your fall."
"Though biotics for stealth...?" Eteon made a clicking noise with her mandibles. "That seems a bit... Unruly. The blue light makes even Cabal missions difficult and 90% of the time only our selves glow."

Naleena heard Frank making a stink about a Batarian Essul. He's the one on my dossier. I'll have to speak with Frank about him. I wonder why Frank never volunteered this information to me? She stopped momentarily. I'll deal with this later. I have something to deal with. She wandered off within C-sec.
******
The group was getting on the shuttle to take them to the Janiri. Dahlia told the driver to wait. She went back inside and asked directions to the rest room. The receptionist pointed down the hall to the right. Dahlia went in that direction.
******
Irina saw the group getting on the shuttle. "Hey, wait up!" She shouted. "I've got a couple more things to do and I'd like to join you. I'm putting my bike in storage and there's a little bureaucratic hangup. Shouldn't take too long.
The driver waved.
*****
Operative 66 opened her omni-tool, and checked the identification of her target. She slipped around the corner, staying in the shadows. Two officers approached and she made herself small behind a large file cabinet as they passed and turned away from her. She waited until their footsteps faded. Then she checked both directions, kept low and moved on down the corridor without making a sound. Lt. Torres had his door closed. That was not good. She would have to wait. She slipped an optic snake under the door and looked inside. Torres was seated at his desk working. How to get him to open the door.... knocking, he'll just buzz it. Continue knocking... no that wouldn't work....How about flipping his circuit breaker. She checked his office number. The custodial closet was a couple doors down and they usually contained the breaker box for the floor. It was shift change, but Torres was exempt staff and was going to be there another two hours. This area of the building would be on skeleton crew, so lighting would be conserved. This worked in her favor. She found the breaker and flipped it off.
"Damn it!" Torres muttered, "They did it again. Can't they get anything right around this place. 'You don't need to conserve energy here.' I said. 'It looks good back home.' they said. F*** 'em. I'm turning the lights back on." Torres left his office and headed to the custodial closet.
Torres opened the door and entered with his flashlight on. "There's the f***in' panel. I'm turnin' 'em all on. F*** 'em."
Operative 66 grabbed Torres by the mouth with one hand and quickly shoved an icepick up into the back of his skull with the other. She left the room. A keeper was walking by with a trash receptacle that was headed for recycling and she dropped her surgical gloves in it.
She keyed on a secure channel to SB Cell 4 leader: job completed. Operative 66 out.
****
Naleena entered an elevator that took her to the Presidium entrance to C-sec, and she went to the VIP lounge for a drink. She wanted some peace and quiet for a while. She sat at a table overlooking the Presidium and knocked back an Asari gel shot.
****
Dahlia emerged from the corridor she'd gone down and ran into Irina who was coming out of the back of C-sec. The two of them got on the shuttle and it took off for the Janiri.

Quartermaster Septerax Paria had a special check-in set up near the air lock that connected to the spaceway. Naleena had brought VERA over and the shuttle was in the shuttle bay, but Naleena was in a VIP bar in the Embassy area directly above C-sec having a drink. Septerax was ready to assign everyone their quarters and was explaining a few things to the new arrivals....
".... yes, unlike traditional Asari vessels, there are gendered lavatories. We were expecting multi-species crews aboard and designed the ship to accommodate," he looked over at Vayne, "And there is one Krogan sized facility. We have a Krogan cook. Everyone can have private quarters unless they wish to share. The quarters are about 3.5 x 4 meters in size and along the outer corridors of the starboard or port side of Deck 3. Also on that deck is the main wardroom, med-bay and a common room. This isn't a luxury liner, but it's a lot different than the Audron. Civilian comfort with military design.
"Are there any questions? If not I'll give each of you your room key passes."
Jess noticed that a few familiar Asari faces standing guard.

“That pirate captain isn’t through giving us trouble,” Jenus said to Mira, quiet enough so only they could hear. “Look at her, she’s already giving the stink eye over our way.”
“Jenus,” Mira responded, just as quietly and with a bit of criticism, “That’s behind us now. We’ll have time to get to know each other wherever we’re going, and I’m sure if there is anything left unresolved, the two of you can discuss it over a meal.”
“Or in the training room.”
Mira let her eyes wander towards Jess, then back to Jenus. “Bunk it, Jenus. We’re on the same team now.”
Jenus was silent, without even a ‘Textbrain’ retort, which was her standard jibe that let Mira know everything was okay. Mira didn’t want a row breaking out, but she knew Jenus, and the way the commando wouldn’t let things go, sometimes.
Mira sighed.

Irina walked up to the Quartermaster. "A C-sec officer said he was going to drop off a young woman named Zenon? Where is she?"
"We put her in a cabin 4 on Deck 3. You'll be in Cabin 6. They're on the starboard side of the ship." Septerax replied, "She's awful young to be on a mission."
"I'm just keeping an eye on her. She picks up things rather quickly. I taught her how to shoot, and she did some work on my bike. Maybe she could help out in maintenance?" Irina said, "It'll keep her out of trouble. I'll talk to her if that's okay with you."
"Yeah, I'll ask the commander to clear it with the maintenance super, Max."
"Sounds good. Thanks," Irina said and entered the ship. Then she saw them.
"Jenus? Textbrain? What the f*** are you guys doing here? Are Iole and Tallis down on another deck?" Irina asked.

Iole, Jenus, Mira and Tallis stood guard in the Jeniri's corridors.
"We're being punished".Jenus said stiffly.
"I think we're standing guard". Mira observed lightly trying to keep the atmosphere light.
"Guard. Guard". Tallis agreed nodding.
"No I'm pretty sure this is rentacop duty for blowing up a train". Iole grouched. "And destroying the armour".
"We didn't technically, destroy it.... Just stressed it".
"Stressed it after we blew it up in a confined space, which is really bad for anything really when you set off a concussive blast....".
"Bad. Bad".
"....Then it got smashed into the ground and let's be honest ladies. Whose going to want that armor applied to the side of their ship when they hear it's aleady been through a small war".
Mira sighed. "it wasn't a war.... More of an operational engagement that didn't have anything to do with governmental politics. And everything seems to have worked out. No one's going to war.....".
"The human's might. We stole a planet and took all the good stuff right under their noses".
"I wouldn't say it was stealing. It wasn't theirs in the first place. And....".
"It's punishment detail". Jenus interrupted. "The higher ups got involved and they had to blame someone. And guess who the conviniant target's of opportunity were. I mean look at us! We're guarding corridors"!
"We'll be fighting those thing's that other team were after soon".
"To blazes we will". Jenus's head turned and Iole caught a glimpse of what was behind her eye's. "We did our duty and now we get to play hall monitor? There has to be a commando presence on the ship at all times to fight off incursion. I hear their getting that loose canon of a team back on board. And who are they? Mercenaries! Pirates! Vagabonds! Who thought a team like that could compete with a group of professional's like us"?
Tallis drew, in the air, a square in front herself. "Outside. Outside".
"Tallis is right Jannis. The official channel's didn't catch this. Our leader's didn't know about the human colonies disappearing. It took people with no ties or alleigance's to get up and find out what was happening themselves. We'd still be trucking armor around if we hadn't gotten caught up in this affair".
"Your saying we were wrong to fight them off"?
"No..... I'm saying we could have been more right if we'd know the score".
"Company! Company"!
All four head's turned and they heard voices coming down the corridor. "Look smart ladies". Jenus commanded and everyone stood up straight in rigid posture.
A group walked by being led by Quartermaster Paria, who was leading a group. A group of species who sounded like they were being given orientation. Jenus eyed them up surreptitiously and noticed a Krogan, Another Asari. A human, one tall and clad in white and.....
The stripes. The one who had put a hood through Tallis's leg and bungled their simple missino with complications
Stripes spotted them all and leaned up and over to whisper something into the tall's ones ear. who raised an eyebrow and looked at them, her in particular Jenus felt as they walked past.
Jenus's biotics were charged without her thinking about it and the anger she had felt about their treatment found a target as she grabbed the stripes and, with a short burst of biotic power, slammed her into the bulkhead on the other side of the corridor. No words were said, none were needed. She knew who this woman was. And by the look she was giving her, she knew her too. Her look filled with recognition and....
Was that..... pity she thought she saw in her eye's?
Jenus dragged back a fist, determined to wipe that look off the woman's face when a white arm, followed by another slid in and pressed a hand to both their chests. Then with a grunt, and the force of a charging Krogan, she was pushed back and flung away so hard that she hit the bulkhead wall behind where she'd been standing guard, hitting it hard enough that she blacked out for a moment.

Anika stood between her Captain and the Asari. “This one at least makes bad decisions”.
“Get away from her”!
Anika looked over to see the remaining three commando's standing before her. Two reaching for their weapon's while the other charged a biotic field around herself. Anika sighed, then barked in a voice that brooked no argument. “Stan-fer-the-Goddess”!
It had the desired effect. The three paused. Unprepared to hear the customary phrase to stand on parade but their drill instructor's from years ago. Thing's among species may alter and change. But one constant. Every army had someone every soldier looked up to. The one's who broke you down to build you back into a weapon for your people.
With the momentary lul in hostility Anika placed her arms behind her back and stepped up to one of the commando's. She shifted, but seeing no obvious signs of hostility found herself unable to justify a reaction before Anika moved onto the next one. The last one in the line made to move forward towards Jenus.
“Move from that spot and you'll be standing in this corridor the rest of the trip”. Anika said softly and to the side. Still looking at the one in the middle but making no bone's about who she was referring to.
Mira, who had been about to move towards Jenus, wasn't about to give in easily. “Who are you to order us? Your not part of our....”.
Anika seemed to slide in front of her so fast that Mira swore she'd slipped in front of her between syllable's. “I didn't give you permission to back chat! I'm a soldier! Your a soldier! Act like it! You two”! She pointed to Tallis and Iole. “Name's”!
“Iole”. Said Iole.
“Tallis. Tallis”. Said a nervous looking Tallis.
“Well Tallis Tallis and Iole. Pick up your friend and make sure she can stand. She banged herself pretty hard there”. The two moved off to Jenus's side quickly and both leaned down to scoop her up as Anika shifted to the side to shoot the group of three a side long look. “What's her name”?
“I....”. Mira stopped as she looked at the white armoured woman. Her biotic's were still glowing but she didn't look concerned in the slightest. “....Jenus”.
“Tell Jenus that was a stupid thing to have done when she's able to focus. You attacked my captain. My job is to act as her bodyguard. That means I was fully justified in not holding back.... which would have broken her”. Anika looked around and her eye's bored into Mira's. “But seeing as we are now shipmates I held back regardless. The captain told me about you. I didn't want to judge till I met you. But now? I'm stepping in to act as your team leader. Unless I'm unavailable in which case you'll revert back to your previous command structure”.
“Wha....”! Mira looked at Anika like she'd grown two heads. “You can't do that”!
“I can”. The words came the striped woman who was pulling herself off the wall. “Hi Jess Stone. Captain. You've met Anika. Former soldier....”.
“Still active captain”.
“...Active solider, bodyguard and I do not want to argue with her right now”. Jess straightened off the wall. “Anyway. Sorry luv's. Looks like your stuck with her”.
“This isn't official”!
Jess tapped her comm. “just give me a moment and I'll make it official. You sure you want to do this luv”? She asked Anika.
“Someone needs to keep them in line. The train. Your eye's. And now this”! Anika growled. “It seems this team's to trigger happy. Ready to pop off a shot without thinking thing's through like a soldier should. Your first and only weapon is your mind. Not your biotics and not the toy's we armour and arm ourselves in. Regarding the past? That's over. Your new relation with Jess begin's now because if one of you touches her again.... all four of you get it in the neck”.
“Are you threatenin us”? The words came groggily out of Jenus who stood suspended between Iole and Tallis.
Anika pointed. “Only if your threatening her”. Anika dragged out. “Now get back to your posts and expect my call for you”.
“Fer what. Another corridor to need guardin”?
“No”. Anika said with a wry smile. “An enemy to repel. A mission to complete. Survivor's to rescue... everything you signed up for and more. A galaxy to save. Jess said we could use you and you assaulted her. I hope your as big as she is to let go of the past because we need big boot's to kick what's wrong with this galaxy back where it came from”. With that, Anika pulled Jess back along with her as she turned. “Back to your posts. Dismissed”.
The four stared at the two who walked back towards their group. As the passed Mira said. “You didn't ask who I was”.
“The one who care's enough to go for a fallen comrade first, before the other's it would seem. It's a good instinct. Don't let it kill you”.
With that, Anika and Jess walked away down the corridor.
Jess looked up and Anika. “Never seen you like that before luv”.
Anika shrugged, her demeanor changing back to her companiable way as soon as they were out of ear and eye shot of the commando's. “Never had to be. Teaching you and the crew with that method would generate hostility and resentment towards me. Them though? They were brought up on it. It's ingrained to a degree. I think your right by the way”.
“What about”?
“They.... stand out. Don't quite fit the mold. I'll ask Nally if I can take them on”.
“Nally”?
Anika winced. “Naleena.... Spectre Naleena... The other captain, captain”.
Jess smiled. “Your doing her a favour right”?
“Taking some load off her plate? Yes”.
“You think she'll go for it? She seemed a bit... highstrung when we saw her in custody”.
“We'll see”.
Jess nodded. Then her comm went off and she looked down and saw a file being sent from Arthur.
Medusa's current location. Good hunting. A
“Looks like we're in business”.

Commander Selani walked up from the CIC to the front of the ship.
"Officer on deck. Attention!" Mira shouted.
"Everyone here, stand down!" Selani shouted and her aura flared blue. She glared at everyone. This was a seasoned veteran. "I'll have no fighting between crew and team members on my ship. Is that clear?"
"Yes Ma'am!" The commandos replied in unison.
She waited for Jess and Anika.

When the humans had gone, Mira turned a shade of purple none of the other three had ever seen before.
Then she turned to Jenus, and blue energy radiated off her body.
"Mira...you let them..."
There was a sound like a crack of thunder that echoed through the Janiri.
Jenus was on the floor, barely conscious. Iole and Tallis were so stunned they didn't even move. They had never seen Mira flare.
"You humiliated us," Mira said, so softly it drew fear out of the other three asari, particularly Jenus. "I will have you stripped of your commando rank and shipped back to wherever you came from if I even think you are going to act so stupidly again! Do I make myself clear?!"
Jenus said nothing, her eyes watering up. She nodded trepidly.
Mira stopped flaring and closed her eyes, moving her lips without making a sound. When she opened them, she was calm again. "Now I have to sit down with Naleena and the woman you so insolently struck. Mark my words Jenus, I'm thinking about ripping you out of that uniform permanently anyway. What is the worst is now I have to go hope to Athame that she accepts my apology, which I am making on everyone's behalf here.
"None of you say another negative word to anyone about the people we are going to work with, or I'll let you cool it in the brig. In the meantime, back to your duty."
"Yes, ma'am," the other three responded.
Mira twisted her head and pulled her uniform straight. The entire time, Commander Selani said nothing, but watched. "Commander," Mira said apologetically, "I am responsible for my team. With your permission, I'd like to resolve this with you or the Spectre at the earliest convenience."

After Morgan’s bout of guilt by association at C-Sec, and then being sprung by Naleena, he’d wanted to get a few things done on the Citadel. But the Janiri needed attending to, he had to get himself set up, and then he needed to find out the itinerary of the vessel. So it was off to the dock for Morgan.
One look at the ship and Morgan knew he was in trouble. It was an asari vessel through and through. Sleek, elegant, impressive, and not at all what Morgan was used to.
It’s a flying piece of contemporary art, Morgan said. He hoped he wasn’t going pale looking at it.
Morgan’s first encounter was with a turian who introduced himself as Quartermaster Septerax Paria. He had a pleasant tone like a tour guide and asked the location of all belongings the new members would be bringing along, so that logistics could be handled getting everything aboard the Janiri. When he came to Morgan, he didn’t seem to believe Morgan's first answer, so he repeated it.
“I don’t have anything to bring aboard but myself and what I’m carrying,” Morgan told him again.
“Well, you can make particular requests for anything you’ll need with me or from the console in your quarters. Special dietary needs, maintenance for your equipment, preferred videos or literature for entertainment…”
“Nothing, really. It’s fine.”
The turian looked at Morgan skeptically, then let it go with a look that made it seem he thought Morgan would be coming back to him later.
After the logistics questions were cleared up, Septerax Paria led everyone onboard. At that point, entering the Janiri was very much like going on a tour with a guide. The interior was designed like a hotel, at least as far as Morgan was concerned. There was even soft lighting. Art adorned the walls. And apparently, there was no shortage of information and history to share about the unique vessel, as Septerax let forth a stream of data on the Janiri.
If it wasn’t for the sudden biotic strike out from one of the commandos they had met before, Morgan would have wondered if he was on a warship at all…

Selani glared at the commando. "I will make the decisions as to who gets stripped of rank and shipped out. You will get your session with the Spectre, Captain Stone, and I when Spectre T'sarius arrives and at her convenience. This entire squad, however, is now assigned to assist our cook, Aknot Grag, in preparing, serving, and cleaning up dinner."
"Yes, Ma'am." Mira replied.
"I didn't hear the rest of you."
"Ma'am. Yes, Ma'am!" the squad replied.
"Dismissed." Selani got on the intercom to squad two. "Rise and shine, ladies. Thanks to a screw up, you're on guard duty."

Eteon heard the echoing biotic strike and looked up then around. The sound had echoed through the floors but with redundant air-barriers and hull struts it was fairly easy for sound to get diffused and tossed around. Her brow plates drew together before looking to Valk. "Excuse me, but..." Spirits, what have I gotten myself into? It was obviously a biotic strike from the tell-tale 'wobble' as sound waves densified around distorted space, and it sounded like someone had laid a haymaker on a wall at high tension.
She sent a message off to Morgan quickly, pausing between a few of the sentences.
Morgan,
Is everyone on board now? If you are, do you know who decided to detonate a biotic grenade onboard? We haven't left dock yet and I've already run into at least one... Eccentric alien.
This place is shaping up to be a zoo. Not for the asari, but for the things I have run into thus far.
Thanks,
Eteon.

Morgan got the message and typed back:
Eteon,
There's a bit of...tension being released up this way, but apparently nothing the commander doesn't have under control. I blame the tour guide for deciding it was a good idea to show us new members past the asari commandos who blew the train. Calling it a failure of logistics to be nice about it. Still, it isn't beyond the pale of anything I've seen before. Something was bound to happen.
Taking bets on which of the expensive art pieces goes first.
At least it won't be boring.
I might not survive the journey if I spot one more gold filigreed bannister though. It's really almost too much to take...

"Excuse me, sir." Frank stood before a salarian sitting at desk.
"Yes?" He asked without looking up.
"Can you do anything about this?" Frank pointed at the left side of his face.
"About wha-- Oh, my." The salarian glanced up, and quickly rose to his feet for a better look. "Right this way."
Frank took a seat on the table. "Is it that bad?"
"Yes."
"Way to tell it straight, doc."

Four glum faced commandos dragged their feet into the galley and faced a cranky Krogan.
"What do you want?" Aknot Grag asked, "Dinner isn't for another three hours."
Iole spoke first. "Uh, we were assigned to help you prepare...."
"... and serve...." Tallis said.
"... and clean up after dinner." Mira said.
"Hmmm...." Grag growled.
"It's her fault!" Iole pointed at Jenus. "If she hadn't...."
"I don't want to hear any excuses. I'm sure they'll be lame," Grag grumbled, "Here, Jenus, put these gloves on. You'll be preparing the food for the Turian crew members. Follow the recipe exactly and use only R-labeled ingredients. If any Turian complains of cramps or has digestive problems, I'll know who to come after, and you don't want that to happen.
"The rest of you. Iole, cut these potatoes, and peel this garlic. Tallis, you take care of the meat. Follow the instructions in the book. Mira, you take care of the vegetables."
"What are you going to do?" Jenus asked.
"I'm going to fix dessert. Now no complaints or I'll report it to the commander. And when you serve, you serve each person with a smile, and I don't care if you hate them. It's part of this job. I've got a list of instructions from the commander." Grag said, "Maybe after this you'll appreciate what Grag does every day."

"Turian?" Cmdr. Tolus squinted as he examined Frank's injuries.
"No, doc, human. Good guess though." Frank chuckled.
"No, no, no. Whoever treated you previously. Turian?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Thought so. Such a mess." Tolus shook his head. "Unconscious after the injury? Headache? Drowzy?"
"Yes, yes, and yes."
"Sensitivity to light?" He shined a light in Frank's eye
"Gah! Yes."
"I see. Likely a minor concussion."
"Anything else?"
"Yes." Tolus grabbed Frank's face. He pressed his thumbs upon his nose, and moved it back into place.
"****!"
"Nose is set. Now, stitches."

Vayne looked to praxa with a nod, "I'll take a normal room. Let the cook have the spacious one..." he said, remembering one of the age old rule of ship faring. Never ****** off the cook.
Vayne took his pass and watched his crates and armor case get loaded into the cargo hold. "If it's alright with you, I'd like to see the armory and make sure my equipment is taken care of properly." he asks as he taps his fingers a bit, knowing that he had a few choice items he wanted to check on himself.
When things started to calm down, vayne made his way through the ship towards the armory, taking a look around the impressive structure as he worked to get his bearings on everything.
=========================================================================================================
-C-sec Interrogation room-
The two guards look to one another as they checked their omnitool displays, seeing their shift wrapping up. They glanced back to the crate with essul in it, before looking to one another.
"Think we aught to open it up? Stun him to keep him quiet?" one asked as he other waved the idea off.
"Why bother? He can't get out of there anyway. Aught to let him just rot in there for all the trouble he's caused."
"Yeah. Come on, let's get going. Don't want to spend any more time filling out a damn report then I need to."
With that the two offices left, closing the door behind them and leaving the crate alone and unguarded. Everything was silent for a while until a massive thump rocked the whole crate, followed by another, and another. The lid dented and distended as a sharp object pierced the lid, the strong combat knife stabbing through the magnetic locks as the whole crate powered down.
Essul thrust the lid open and scrambled out, the biotic glow surrounding his arms fading out before falling to the ground as he breathed heavily in his full armor, looking around the room as he almost felt like dancing for joy.
He was out of that dark box at last. Thank the gods for that.
