Trallis Axanni left her office next to med-lab and was headed to the common room, and she saw Jaimie sitting on the floor in the corridor. Jaimie was stinking of alcohol.

"Jaimie, you've been drinking again, and way too much," the ship's counselor said. She stood 180 cm tall and wore a white pants suit. She had purple facial markings and very dark greenish eyes. "Why do you do this to yourself? You're such a brilliant person. I'd like you to make an appointment to see me. You know I could order you, but I'm not going to do so, yet. I'd rather you come voluntarily. Anyway, good day doctor. I'm going to meet the new arrivals we have on board."

"Alright, alright I'll come volunt... voluntarily," she muttered in a slurred tone as she picked herself up of the ground and, after testing her balance for a few moments, followed the councillor. "I want to meet them too so... we should... we'll walk and talk." In truth, Jaimie dreaded these one one one appointments with Trallis, which is exactly why she was so adamant on getting it out of the way now... s she wouldn't remember it come her next work shift. "So what's the topic of discord... discretion.. no... ah discussion, yeah that, what's the topic of discussion, misses superior?"

"Excuse me." Frank mumbled, looking straight ahead, as he stepped between an asari and a drunken woman on his way back from the showers.

I don't even want to know.

Trallis stopped, and moved out of the way of the human leaving the lavatory. "You want to do this now? We do this in my office, not in front of the Spectre's team." she saw that Jaimie was staggering. "Take my arm and I'll support you back there. I can give you something to sober up and we can talk. for an hour. Then we'll get you cleaned up and you can meet the new arrivals."

Overstepping her boundaries, Jaimie ignored the offered hand and jumped straight onto the councillor's back in a piggyback position. "Onward," she blurted in an attempted masculine tone as she struck her hand out ahead of Trallis."Psychoanananalytical deductions await!"

The two tumbled to the floor.

"Get off me!" Trallis shouted, and pushed her away, the smell of Jaimie's breath nearly making her gag. "We'll have to do this the hard way." The counselor trapped her in a biotic field and dragged her into her office.

"You're no fun," Jaimie said with a pout as she seated herself in the visitor's seat. Though it could just as aptly be coined her seat, given how frequently she found herself in here. "Well... let us, let's, let's get this over with," she murmured as her head sank onto Trallis's desk.

The door to the lift had opened and Eteon had barely made it a few steps down the hall before the sounds of the Asari and Human arguing and then tumbling reached her. Unable to see what had happened, and only able to hear the very probably ire of the Asari, she leaned against the side of the hall and massaged the soft carapace under her eyes with the ends of her talons.

This is going to be a long trip. She thought to herself as she snuck around the corner and towards the mess. She hadn't been onto the deck, and she still wanted to know where her book was, but seeing as it would be found eventually she decided she might as well get her bearings. She had received a map which had all the necessary locations but she preferred to be someplace to know where it is. Mental maps over visual ones.

Trallis shook her head in disgust. "First things first," she said, got the syringe from the cabinet and administered the alcohol antidote (patent pending - lol). Jaimie groaned knowing the prospect of facing the world sober again in two to three minutes. She could feel the effects of the drug already, and she started to reach into her bag for the Peruvian Whiskey.

"No!" Trallis ordered. It was the usual routine. "Now you have to stop giving me a reason to have these sessions. You keep skirting the issues of your past. The drinking just buries it. You know this. I know I could just let you bottom out and drink yourself until your liver fails. I could declare you unfit to serve in the med-lab. If that's the case you'd have to find another job somewhere and someone who would put up with your mess.

"You have the Salarian convinced you're a genius, but when I see your filth in the med-lab I just want to avoid the place until the next shift. What do you think I should do? I'm through covering for you. Should I just cut you loose and declare you unfit for duty? Perhaps you could convince the newcomers that you're fit for their mission. You'd still have to sober up, but maybe the break in the routine would be good for you."

Using the mirror in his cabin, Frank examined his face closely for the first time since the Citadel.

Shoulda asked the quartermaster for a paper sack.

He leaned in close, to get a better look at the stitches above his eye.  He poked at them.

"Ew."

He turned his head to the left, while massaging his jaw.

"Still handsome over here."  Aside from some bruising, his right side was still somewhat presentable.

Wish they had colors other than blue, though.

He picked at the bandages on his nose, designed to blend with the average asari skin tone.

It was just after the Janiri had shot through the Eagle nebula relay and entered the Tasale system that Morgan got out of his armor for a more comfortable set of clothes.  Even a simple T-shirt, pants, and boots were made with care, which Morgan wasn’t sure he exactly liked, but there wasn’t much choice.  Plus the asari had a thing for form fitting clothes, apparently.  His blue microfiber shirt had a sheen to it, his black pants had pockets but hugged his legs, and his boots were high, gloss black, and made from a material like hardened leather.  And the boots had more buckles than necessary.

I miss good, old-fashioned cotton.

There was a set of thin but protective work gloves in Morgan’s clothing drawers as well, which he slid into one of his pants pockets, before heading out of his cabin.  Morgan headed to the medical bay, wanting to replace the medigel capsules and first aid supplies he’d used before he headed to the event in the common room hosted by the asari attempting to smooth things over.  When he got to the bay, he stopped just inside the door.

Just inside the large bay was a batarian, several inches over six feet tall, in fatigues and a short sleeved shirt.  He had tanned yellow and dark brown skin, scarred from battle.  One mark on his neck looked more patterned, though Morgan couldn’t get a clear glance at it.  The batarian was holding his thumb, a bit bloody from a small wound.

Morgan didn’t exactly know what to say at first, as momentarily his thoughts returned to the war.  But he put them aside and in a rather monotone voice, asked, “Are you already being taken care of?”

Frank slid on his new shirt, and looked himself over.

"Eh." He shrugged.

He dug through his bag, and retrieved an old Alliance patrol cap.  He placed it on his head, and pulled it low, in attempt to hide some of his injuries.

"Showtime." He gave himself a thumbs up in the mirror, and stepped into the corridor.

The invitation was interesting. "Blowing up the bottom of the train"? I'm definitely going to have ask about that one, Avan pondered. And no alcoholic drinks? Well, it doesn't say anything about already having a few beforehand. Or, he could bring his own spicy blueberry delight.

While walking through the halls, he ran into a batarian named Essul. "Oh, excuse me."

"Your not wearing your armor".

"Yes I am".

"No your not"!

"If that Asari's there again I'll need it if she....".

Jess sighed and turned to kneel walk over the new bed they'd bolted in place and reached into one of the bags they had brought along. Pulling her hand back she revealed the bolt drill made for getting her into and out of her heavy armored suit.

"Your coming out of that thing right now. It's a party luv! They'll be staring"!

"I'm seven foot tall! Of course they'll be staring"!

"It's an olive branch luv... Let's take it and move on".

Anika saw Jess approach and circled her, putting off her approach. "Your chipper for someone who was spitting bile at what happened before".

"That train? Your damn right I was. But the cards have been dealt and it's time to play them. So hold still"!

"Nuh uh".

Jess stopped and looked amused. "You think I can't take you"?

"Captain... I was trained by a huntress".

"And I know every dirty trick in the book luv.... Care to take your chances"?

Anika crouched lower. "Oh you bring it on if you want to be embaressed".

Jess stabbed the drill switch in response, making the high speed bit squeal as she matched Anika's posture. "It's not me whose going to the party naked luv".

They charged.

The Janiri’s common room, while not exactly a luxury lounge, was ordinarily a bit more than one would find aboard a military ship.  It had long, comfortable couches, several interfaces for tapping into material from the ship’s library, access to the extranet, if it was available, and entertainment programming.  Some sections were placed for solitude, a chair with a thin privacy screen.  Lights and temperature could be adjusted.  And though the mess was separate, and the place expected for crew to eat larger meals, there were side tables one could set aside a drink or snack, though it was left to crew to tend after themselves in the matter of cleaning up.  Not the largest of spaces but certainly large for the classification of a ‘military destroyer’.

Mira, Tallis, Iole and Jenus, however, had done as much as they could to kick it right back up into the luxury lounge spectrum.

First, the lights were made multicolored and softened in glare.  That had been one of Iole’s tasks as it suited her technical expertise.  She had also run the sound system, which was not normally part of the room, with help from Mira.  Jenus and Tallis were more preoccupied with hors d’oeuvres and drink preparations before they then took on the task of setting them up at a long table on one side of the room.  Some decorations were also hung, giving the sense that more than a little effort had been put into the affair.  There hadn’t been much time to prep, but the asari did what they could and fast.  Iole even programmed most of the interfaces to display unobtrusive patterns moving about the screen, making a bit of a light show to play in the background of people’s vision.

When they were finished, the four stood in a line, with a plate of the hors d’oeuvres in each of their hands, ready for the first attendees.  Each wore their commando suits, smartly cleaned for formal events, and added white serving gloves to the attire.  Mira was at one end of the line, while Jenus was at the other, the difficulty between the two still not entirely resolved.  Tallis and Iole had given each other silent stares of concern, but their other two teammates had worked perfectly well together without talking.

After a few minutes of waiting, Iole said, “Do you think anyone is actually going to come?”

“I hope so,” Mira remarked. “I doubt the other two commando teams are going to miss this.”

Tallis hummed.

Jenus looked at the plate in her hands, “If they don’t come, I’ll eat this myself.  Right before I kick Iole’s ass in Excelsior Starfighter.”

“In your dreams, Jenus,” Iole replied in a cavalier fashion, “We know who’s best at the video games around here.”

The two stopped as the first guest arrived.  Tallis was the first to address them.

“Welcome!  Welcome!”

Essul turned to look to morgan, raising a brow at his fashion as he felt a bit sorry for the human. 'Poor fella probably got suckered into wearing asari attire...' he thought to himself. A race of feminine mono-gendered model slim people making clothing for other species of males and females, it was almost comical if one stopped to think about it.

"Go ahead..." essul said simply with a tilt of his head, "I'm gonna take a bit anyway." he said, the combat knife still strapped behind his waist on his belt, hanging diagonally for quick drawing. It was standard practice on batarian vessels for personnel to be armed at all times in case of attack, and he didn't think it odd to do so now.

As he spoke he noticed a salarian enter the room, looking quite comfortable in the med bay setting. 'He the doctor?' he wondered to himself, noting his body language.

“Hello, I’m Doctor Jarells Tolus, Chief Medical Officer aboard this ship,” the salarian greeted.  “You must be…Essul Aizheya Ran’peral, and you are…Morgan Severn.  I make it a point to review the files of all aboard.  That’s a bit of a cut there, Essul, let me examine that.  And Morgan, what did you need?”

Morgan was eying the knife until the doctor walked in.  He responded a bit flatly, “Re-up on my gel supplies and ancillaries for the first aid kit.”

“Tap me out a list on a datapad and I’ll make sure the resupplies get to your quarters, Morgan.  I’m sure you’ll be wanting to get on your way to the common room.”

“I, well yes.”  Morgan looked up at the batarian.  Another giant.  Well, he won’t stand out here.  He paused before he went on to ask.  “Heading that way when you’re done Essul?”

The doctor frowned, “This cut is a simple laceration.  It won’t take a bit to patch up, though I should ask Essul, I have nothing more on you than general batarian medical information.  Anything I should be concerned about?”

Eteon had found her quarters easily enough though without any personal items to place in the room she found herself awkwardly standing in there until she decided to take a nap. She slept uneasily and woke up just a bit before the party began. She had rolled over to the far side of the bed and the unusual comfort of the mattress made it so she had some trouble rolling over to the other side. Rough angles of her knee-spikes were grabbed just a bit much and when she slid out of bed she massaged where they met her leg to work out some of the tension.

When they were comfortable again she picked up her tunic which she had tossed to the ground earlier. It was unlikely that wearing her formal armor would be acceptable to the welcoming party so she decided she would divide up the pieces of her clothing to a more... Comfortable configuration.

She unzipped the hood that was attached along with the sleeves, pulling it away from the body of the tunic. Setting the pieces aside she removed the white under-lining and put it alongside the other pieces. She still had her pants, but they were slacks and weren't going to work with the ensemble she was putting together. Thinking over who would probably have clothing that would fit, she opened up her omni-tool and looked for Jess' ID. She couldn't remember inputting Anika's but the two were often together anyways.

Jess,

Do you know if Anika has any human track pants she wouldn't mind lending out? The black sort with the soft fibers, dark if possible. I didn't do any shopping for clothing on the Citadel so I am currently lacking in things to wear to this 'party'.

Sorry to use you as messenger, I don't have her ID and don't think anyone else is near my size. Turian legs are, fortunately, nearly the same thickness bar the knee spikes.

Much Appreciated,

Eteon.

She would need to buy more things on Illium if there were going to be any more soirees like this one. For now she would have to make do, and the slacks weren't anything horrible to deal with so even if the human didn't have anything it wasn't the end of the world. She looked up to see that her door was open and an Asari was staring. The Turian looked down and saw she was still wearing pants so she clicked her mandibles in confusion. The Asari made a small 'eep' noise before smoothly continuing on her way.

Weird.

As Essul nodded and walked off, Avan wondered if this trully was a pro-species equality vessel, and mission. Nearly every species was involved. He went to the elevator to explore the sections of the Janiri.

"I have a prescription medication..." Essul stated bluntly as the doctor worked on sealing up his cut. "Di-Isolyn Neuropovazyne for cluster headaches..." he said, lying about its true use. No need to let these people know he was a biotic time bomb if he could help it.

"I'm a biotic as well, if that helps..." he said, rubbing the back of his neck where a small indent was located to measure his implants activity. "I trust that won't be a problem?"

Hearing morgans question though, he gave a small nod, "It would be predunt to familiarize myself with this vessels crew. Learn the basis of unit cohesion and all of that.." he stated as he flexed his hand, the gel seal over the cut holding quite nicely.

===============================================================================================

Vayne had chosen a simple and non-discrete outfit for the festivities today, his full red combat armor, gleaming with fresh polish and lightly humming as he powered up its systems. Armor repair could be tricky, and the first few hours of reactivation could uncover more then a few bugs.

This way he could test them out in a safe enviroment and enjoy the comfortable, easy to put on, and light feel of modern metal/ceramic mixed armor plating.

"Oh yeeeeeeeeaaaaahhhh." he said as he moved his shoulders a bit, rolling his neck as it cracked a bit, "That's a hell of a lot better..." he said with a smile, walking out of the armory as a gave a nod to the quartermaster.

He made his way to the common area, ready for a nice and relaxing evening.

“Di-Isolyn Neuropovazyne,” The doctor repeated, “Not a problem.  We’re well supplied.  Get that prescription to me, Essul, and I’ll make sure I keep it stocked here and in your quarters.  When you have a moment, set up an appointment via the computer.  I’ll give you a checkup.”

Morgan thought he saw another human come and go out of the corner of his eye, while

“That should do it, Essul,” Doctor Tolus said, “On your way.  Have a good time, I don’t think I’ll be seeing you there, as I have to cover for another medical officer currently.”

While Morgan wasn’t entirely familiar with all salarian subtleties, he thought he detected a hint or resentment in Tolus’ words.  It was difficult to tell, though, as the doctor threw himself into the next task, adjusting the inventory of pharmaceuticals manually at a terminal.

“Where did you get a normal suit of comfortable clothes,” Morgan asked Essul he made to exit medical.

"These are my personal fatigues. Standard issue for hegemonic employees...." He said as he walked towards the elevator with the human, "I assume those clothes are asari origin, Mr. Severn?" he said, having a feeling it would be the case.

"My mission required I pack provisions to last extended periods away from the hegemony, including clothing. Fortunate for me, it seems.." he said, a small smile creeping on his face at the remark.

Morgan slightly winced.  "Well, I packed...lightly."

The wince became more emphasized.

Frank entered the common area, and was immediately greeted by a familiar asari.

"Commando commando." Frank turned slightly, in an attempt to hide his wounds. "Glad to see you're feeling better.

He briefly glanced up, and noticed the golden-eyed commando from the train job. He gave her a nod, before pulling his hat a little lower.

"In some ways, I suppose..." Essul said, his smile somewhat fading, "Even if my supplies came mostly out of my own stipend..." he said as he looked to morgan.

"So how long have you served on this mission?" he asked curiously, the elevator slowing making it to their level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vayne walked down the hall with a calm and relaxed demeanor as he finally came to the hall leading to the common area. He made his way towards the door as he stepped through, looking about the area.

He stood in his red heavy armor, looking about as he got a good look at franks bad part of his face, wincing a bit. "You...doing alright?" he asked, unsure why he had angled his head the way he did.
