Naleena took a cigarette from her case, she offered one to Morgan, and then put the case back in her breast pocket. "It has been my intent to end that creature's existence. The sooner the better," She lit her cigarette, and Morgan's. "I am certain that she will continue to be a fly in the lotion for both you and Jess until we've dealt with her. Our mission is going to be dangerous, and I cannot have the crew being distracted. I made you a promise, Morgan, and I keep my promises."

Jenus saw Eteon approach. A Turian! "Hey, I've got Turian meat skewers over here! Raw, just the way you like them." Jenus went into the ice chest, pulled out the tray, and held it in front of Eteon.

"Sorry about that mess back on the train. Heh. But we're on the same side now." Jenus was trying to make nice.

Irina walked over. "Eteon, right? Don't worry about these commandos. Right now what's in the past is in the past. They were just following orders. They're on our side now, and they've got your back."

Jenus looked Eteon in the eyes. "So are we good?"

Essul enjoyed the food and drink, keeping mostly to himself and content with observing the festivities rather then taking part. Truth be told the batarian was much more comfortable being a wallflower then having any sort of attention drawn to himself. However as he minded his own business, he happened to spot someone who looked familiar.

His eyes narrowed a bit as recognition dawned on him, walking towards the turian as he made his way to the food table, picking up a red capped beverage as he walked towards the female.

"Excuse me..." he said, sounding a bit more serious then he'd meant to while trying to keep his voice soft, the gruffness of it making him sound like some stupid vigilante trying to put on a fake voice. He coughed a moment in his hand, keeping the bottle away from him as he smiled softly, "Apologies. I must have gotten something caught in my throat." he said as he held the bottle for the female turian.

"Can I offer you a drink? The red colored ones are dextro based..." he said, trying to be polite as he offered eteon a drink.

Three more hours of this, Jenus thought to herself.  She brought over a red plate to Eteon then another to Quartermaster Praxia, when she noticed Iole fidgeting.  Jenus spied where Iole threw a hard stare and headed over to her.

“You’re funny,” Jenus told Iole.

Iole avoided Jenus’ by moving away slightly, then said, “It’s nothing.”

“Liar.  Give it up.”

“He’s cute, is that what you want to hear me say?”  Iole made a frustrated look.  “It’s stupid, I know.  Literally we’re about to embark on some sort of Spectre driven critical mission, in the middle of some disciplinary action, and I’m thinking about the guy I just made puke in the bathroom.”  Iola pointed to herself.  “See this?  This is stupid.”

Jenus coughed back a laugh.  “I’m the stupid one.  I couldn’t keep myself in check and got us this raw gig.  Though I’m still furious at textbrain for not sticking up for me.”

Iole then peaked at Jenus.  “You are stupid, for getting us in trouble like this.  Worst way to make amends ever.  You’re lucky Tallis thought of taking it one step further to try to patch things up with a party.”

Jenus’ cheeks grew slightly purple.  “Fine.  I’ve had that pointed out to me already.  I’m a something swamp chigger.”

Iole smiled.

“Come on,” Jenus said as she took Iole’s plate and put it on the nearby table, “I’ve got something that will lighten the mood.  Maybe get your human friend’s attention.”

Iole looked confused, then said, “Oh no.  No.  It isn’t the time.  Stop it, we’re not here to show off.”

Jenus took Iole by the shoulder and shoved her towards the middle of the common room.  “Oh yes it is.  It is the time, and we are showing off.  You want to do this, or do you want those twins to get all the attention?”

Iole admitted, “Sometimes I hate how good a friend you can be, Jenus.”

When the two asari got to the center of the room, and politely asked a few guests to clear a bit of space, Iole used her omni-tool to stop the music and cue a new song on standby.  Jenus stood slightly in front and to the left of Iole.  She nodded over her shoulder to Iole.

“Drop it,” Jenus said.

Iole let the music rip and the two began to dance.

Eteon grabbed a skewer and was about to rely when Jenus 180'd and walked towards another Turian. Busy night? The Cabal got her skewers either way and was more than happy to take a piece off the metal rod and pop it into her mouth. Swallowing it almost whole (since turians don't have grinding teeth) she almost hummed with appreciation.

Hearing the Turian she took the bottle in one hand and nodded. "Thanks, thousands of years of evolution and raw meat still isn't the smoothest food to eat."

Then, replying to Irina. "I'm on their ship. As long as we don't butt heads again there's no problem. They're our allies, mine if only for the time being, but allies nonetheless."

Finally, looking back to the Batarian - This is going surprisingly smoothly "Eteon Draiken, Cabal. I was on the Audron with most the non-Asari here. And Naleena." She was going to offer her hand for a shake but realized she had too many things. Namely meat and drink, the most basic part of and staple of Turian cuisine. There were centuries of ingrained culinary instinct to fight against to put the skewers in the same hand as the bottle making use of the long fingers before extending her left hand. "A pleasure."

"...she catches me, and says 'I don't usually pick up men.'" Frank glances towards the door, as Eteon arrived, before turning back to Lusia. "And I say..." He looked away again. "I said...  I..."

"Goddess, Asteria, look at him." Lusia whispered

Asteria put a hand over her heart and made a pouty face. "Aww." She shook her head.

"Frank?" Lusia tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hm?" He caught himself smiling like an idiot. He shook his head.  "I'm Sorry, I lost myself there for a moment.  Where was I..."

"We were actually just leaving." Lusia stood. "Good talking to you, Eli.  Come on, sis." She walked away.

Asteria leaned in close to Frank. "Good luck." She whispered with a smile, before getting up to follow her sister.

"Wait! don't go..."

Frank sat, confused, as the twins left. He let out a sigh.

"Dammit."

Was it something I said?

Frank heard the music pick up.

You don't dance, Frank...

He headed over to the group to embarrass himself anyways.

Essul saw the amount of goods the turian had and smiled, seetting the drink down on a nearby table "Essul Ran'perah. SIU Grenadier. " essuls said as he accepted the handshake. "It seems my attempt to repay my debt was a bit late..." essul admitted a bit embarrassed.

"I do wonder though, how your book faired after your fight?" Essul asked curiosly, letting her know who he was.

Eteon released his hand before tearing another piece of meat off the skewer.

"Ah. You saw the fight on the presidium?" She said, letting a breath pass through her fangs but making sure her mouth was facing away from the Batarian. Raw meat was hardly an appealing smell to many species, or so she thought. "Though if you are Interventions Unit that would make you the one who was being shot at. Then you're welcome."

"The book was fine. A bit bent from making contact with composite armor but it was strong enough that there were only a couple residual stains. I seem to have left it somewhere on the ship though someone will find it eventually. It weighs the same as a Varron shank." She chuckled to herself. "Someone will run into it. Quite literally."

Morgan watched the two commandos dance, and apparently their peers from a different team didn’t want to be outdone.  With the ice broken, a handful of commandos, a couple of other crew, and Frank Eli had turned the center of the common room into a mini-dance floor.

Frank Eli, Morgan thought to himself, That guy is awesome.

Morgan waved off the cigarette from Naleena.  “I know it’s never too late to start but I’m trying to avoid making it a habit.

“As far as Iyana is concerned, I am warning that I think it goes beyond the personal vendetta.  There’s something she wants, if I know her, and she’ll dovetail that with revenge.  But there’s more to her danger than that.  I don’t doubt your word.  I’m trying to help the best I can by giving you what I know about her.”

Morgan checked the time and looked around.  He hadn’t seen Jess or Anika yet and the event was half way over.  They aren’t going to skip this, are they?

Naleena saw Morgan's glass was empty. "I know they said no alcohol," she produced a flask, "I keep this around for emergencies." She offered some to Morgan.

"So tell me more about Iyana. She works for the Shadow Broker. This means she will be two steps ahead of us with intel so we have to prepare for surprises. I would guess there is at least one SB plant aboard this vessel, and it could be anyone. Having VERA monitor the coms will help." Naleena said, "Is there anything about Iyana I should know that I don't already know?"

"This isn't helping my headache!"  Frank shouted, as he awkwardly twisted his body to the music. "And I have no idea what I'm doing!"

He knew he probably looked like an idiot, but he didn't care.

I'll just blame it on the concussion... or the pills...

"What are they doing?" Essul asked as he watched the asari moving with the music. It took him a minute to realize it was dancing, looking to eteon as he moved aside, "Don't know about you, but I don't dance." Essul said flatly, before he spotted the human he knew to well, "Do you know him?" He asked as he pointed to frank, curios if she could shed some light on his enigmaness.

Vayne was finished eating and went to get a drink, something cool to wash down the tasty flavor with. As he walked however, he ended up getting bumped into by a few people dancing, and the krogan moved to try and avoid the dancers, inadvertently dancing a bit himslef in his attempt to navigate the floor.

Finally he saw a break and took it, dashing out quickly from a mid side slide move as he picked up a drink and opeend it up, enjoying the sweeter flavor of the non-alchoholic drink.

"Not bad,,,," he commented as he looked around the room from his new spot, nodding his head a bit to the beat, "Not bad at all..."

"That's..." Eteon trailed off as she turned to see who was dancing. "Ah. Frank. He was on the Audron as well. Crashed his shuttle and I was the one who brought him back to the ship. He's... A bit odd. He seems to be prone to rash decisions." The Cabal looked to Essul out the corner of her eye. "He means well. Just bites off more than he can chew sometimes."

A tone on her omni-tool caught her attention. The name-line popped up as Deidrus and the subject 'Urgent'. What does he need? "Sorry, I need to take this." She walked to the corner of the room and opened up the message, scanning over the contents before sighing. And relaxation must always be interrupted by duty.

"I understand..." Essul said simply as he watched eteon leave, his smile slowly fading back into his emotionally cold expression. He looked back to frank, staring at him curiously. If there was one thing essul still didn't understand, it was that human. That was for sure.

The batarian wandered along the edge of the floor, not wanting to get involved and milling about with a blue capped drink in hand, sipping politely. Party;s weren't really his thing, and he looked for someone else to talk to to pass the time.

Jess and Anika arrived..... and covertly slipped in. Which for Anika was an acheivement in and by itself.

"I can't believe you got us lost".

Jess scowled. "Okay. First! It's a new ship. Second. Shut up. Third. What kind of ship's computer directs you to the air reclamation systems and then tells you to tweak the CO flows..... Fourth..... Where's the alcohol"?!? Jess looked around with her hands on her hips as she saw everyone having a good time. "Ugh.... Probably for the best. Last thing we need is another fist fight on the ship after the captain demonstrated the size of the log up her.....".

"Dancing"! Anika exclaimed as she turned and saw the two Asari going at it on the dance floor. "Do you mind if I....".

"If you can get away with it in that dress feel free luv....".

"You okay"?

".......What do people do at ship parties"?

Anika blinked. "Your kidding".

"Hey... Poker, boxing, gravisbee.... I'm down to have a good time but.... when it comes to the parties.... I'm usually on the bridge.... That's not really an option here".

"You could come dance with me"?

Jess actually laughed. "Only if you want those toes degloved. I'll sit it out thanks".

"Suit yourself". Anika said and walked away towards the throng.

Jess turned back to the food table. "Seriously.... Where's the real drink"?

Tallis was serving, while bopping her head to the beat.  She saw Vayne doing the same thing and smiled broadly.  A few more commandos got into the dance area and then she saw the very tall human bodyguard in a white dress get on the dance floor.

They’re here!

Tallis peeped with joy.  She wasn’t around any of her friends at the moment or she would have grabbed one.  Somebody asked her for something and she completely ignored them.  Tallis was looking for someone through the crowd in the common rooms.

Then Tallis spotted her.

Practically springing across the room, Tallis made sure to restrain herself as she saw the pirate captain searching the table for something to drink.  Tallis was so excited, she didn’t really know what to do.  She slid towards the captain’s side, about two meters away, trying not to entirely surprise her…in the event that the pirate captain wasn’t up for such a happy greeting.

But Tallis couldn’t control herself.

“Silver eye! Silver eye!” Tallis shouted.

Tallis walked up to Jess Stone and gave her a huge, warm hug.

"Hey! You!" Frank pointed up at Anika as she reached the floor.  He moved over to her, standing on his toes the whole time. "I don't think we've actually met. Or maybe we did, I can't remember."  Frank, with the most serious look on his face, moved in a crudely robotic fashion, maintaining eye contact the whole time. "Bvvvvt zzzzzzzt." He extended a hand.  "Frank Eli, Nice to met you."

Jess raised an eyebrow and half turned before something blue with outstretched arms threw herself around her. 'Here we go a.....-". Jess felt arms slip across and over her shoulders as someone pressed themselves to her in embrace. "-gain"?

"Thank you so much.  Thank you so much," Tallis said.  After a solid three hours of party, she had honestly believed that there wasn't any chance that amends could be made with the woman who had gotten hit by shrapnel in the helmet, and shot Tallis' leg with a spear.  She wanted the pirate captain to know she thought everything was going to be all right, and that maybe she even liked her a little.

Tallis pulled away with a smile.

Anika looked down at the man extending his hand. Then looked up and sniffed the air and..... 'Oooookaaaay. Someone's had one to many'.

"Anika". She said taking his hand. "It's a pleasure. I think we missed each other before. I was with Naleena and..... well, things happened for you down on the planet I hear".

Jess chuckled a little as the Asari pulled back and got her first good look at her. The facial etchings certainly stood out, but aside from that.....

"It's Jess luv... Just Jess. You were in the corridor earlier when that thing with....". Jess trailed off, deciding it was probably better not to bring it up. "Well, if the greetings are this warm all round I could get used to this".

Taking the unknown Asari's hand she brought it to her lips and planted a light kiss on the knuckles. "And who do I have the pleasure of addressing? If I may ask"?

Tallis blushed slightly, then laughed.  "Tallis!  Tallis."

She started bopping her head again to the music unconsciously.  "Get you something?"  She asked, and tried very hard not to say anything else.

After three seconds, Tallis said, "Get you something?" in complete failure.

Morgan took a sip from the cup Naleena had slipped a bit of the contents of her flask into.  It was strong.  “An operative aboard this ship?  That would be concerning.  The strength of the Shadow Broker network is also its weakness; the cells and contacts operate separately, only with knowledge of what they need to know.  There is limited ability to organize and coordinate quickly.  Iyana is a bit of an exception because she has such a large downstream of operatives.  Still, though, the Shadow Broker prefers to hold centralized power, and enjoys competition amongst his or her underlings.”

Dahlia came up at that moment, making her compliment about Morgan, which left him somewhat embarrassed.  He managed to say a thank you without fumbling it too badly, then informed her about the topic of conversation before continuing with Naleena. “What could I tell you about Iyana that you wouldn’t know…there probably could be a few things.  A person like that…I’ve tried to figure it out.  But I’d first say that do not underestimate there is a method to her madness. She’s not driven by murder.  It’s a tool for her.  And as vengeful as she is, she is first and foremost good at what her job is.  Which is why she gets so much leeway.  There’s an ambition with her…the people around her catch glimpses of it, interpret it in their own ways.  But I think nobody has quite nailed what it is.  Hopefully nobody finds out and she meets her end first.  But I’ll tell you, that mind of hers is devious, and extremely complex.  She’s going to be prepared when someone comes looking for her, or she wouldn’t be found.  We don’t have anything on her yet that would make her vulnerable.”

Morgan spotted Anika as she got into the dance area.  He immediately searched for Jess and spotted her being, Hugged by the asari who was introduced as Tallis?  The one she shot?

“How about catching up with Anika?” Morgan suggested to Naleena.  He peered down at his drink.  “Besides, I know someone who could use this a bit more than me.”  He excused himself and asked Dahlia to accompany him.

Before Morgan could get to Jess, he saw her kiss Tallis’ hand and he pulled up short.  The asari named Mira was passing him, on her way to get more food, so Morgan passed off his drink to her and said,  “Take this to Stone.  She could use a drink with some bite in it.”

Mira nodded.  She headed towards Jess and slid the cup into the captain’s hand.  When Jess turned to see who gave her the drink, Mira nodded her head towards Morgan.  Morgan gave Jess a wink from across the room and turned to speak to Dahlia.

Jess tilted her head as a smile appeared. "I'd like a drink"? She regarded her as the Asari in front of her as she came off trying to..... not repeat herself? She'd done it three times now. "Tell you what luv. Lead me to the best drink's in the house! Putting together a flat pack leaves you parched....".

Just then Mira sweeped by and a drink appeared. "Aaaaand there we go". Jess quipped. "Can't fault the service luv". Taking a sip she paused, then looked down and sniffed the content's. Her smile broadening. "It'll do".
