"Get back, Grant! What the hell are you doing?!"
Hidden behind a tree, the slim frame of the engineer was seen ducking for cover, spitting words out in an aggressive hiss. Her visor, glowing faintly blue, could not hide the glare in which her brown eyes held. Said glowering was directed at the other soldier who survived the crash, Private Grant. Young and pessimistic by nature, as the had encountered enemy resistance, the boy had nearly given up. It was true, they were heavily outnumbered. The Eclipse patrol that had found them had about half of a dozen armed mercs, none of which friendly or inexperienced. At their demand for the pair of Alliance-aligned combatants to come out of hiding, Grant was the only one to do so.
"Ad, they're saying they'll keep us alive if we surrender. Just do it." he answered in a rather monotone voice, unable to mask the hopelessness that wracked his being.
"F*ck that! You're fresh meat so you don't know but you can never trust a me-"
Her words were cut off by the sounds of several gunshots, piercing armor, and a body crumpling to the floor. The engineer's face was now much calmer, a serene aura taking over her angered persona.
"You've got to the count of three, Alliance! Come out or we'll swarm you!" another Human voice commanded, distorted due to a helmet of some sort. Adelaide's grip on her SMG only tightened, her omni-tool's light barely visible, if at all, from the position of the Eclipse patrol.
"One!"
Her hands clenched even further as the mercenary holstered her weapon.
"Two!"
Adelaide's body inched towards the end of the tree, ready to reveal herself to the Eclipse.
"Thr-!"
A soft pat was heard on the grass, unnoticed. All of the Eclipse mercs saw the dark-haired Human, sprinting down the jungle at alarming speeds. However, a combat drone was now amongst them, zapping the shields of all who came close to it. Before they could move to destroy the glowing recon ball, an explosion went off. A few Eclipse members screamed or grunted from the blast, unharmed physically. The blast blinded them, a great bang of light, as their senses were distorted due to the flashbang grenade. Even those with helmets found themselves unable to recover, their helmets malfunctioning due to the grenade.
None of them saw her coming.
A few gunshots later, Adelaide was strutting down the forest once more, going down the path in which the Eclipse patrol had come from. In her wake were five dead mercenaries, all coming from different backgrounds. In her hands was a single mercenary, the other Human, with their mask ripped off forcefully. Unconscious, they were being dragged down the dirt path back to their base. However, Adelaide then veered to the right with a sharp turn. Their destination? The beach. A perfect interrogation spot, full of water and sand, quiet, and most importantly, isolated.

With Naleena disappearance, the odds were only further placed against the Spectre and the doctor, the pair going up against two gangs. While eager to destroy each other, neither gang would just go along with the idea of a Spectre in the area. In fact, Elara didn't put it passed the two groups to join together in order to defeat the Spectre's crew. While a rival was always good to have out of the way, law enforcement was the number one target as they ceased to end all operations that occurred illegally, not just a single group's advances.
The hiss of the heavy shuttle door breaking her train of thought, now only with Deidrus to accompany her into battle, she hopped out of the Turian vehicle, landing somewhat gracefully onto the sidewalk. There were no enemies, as of yet. However, just by listening to the noise the nearby turf war was causing, it was clear that this was only the calm before the storm.
Without a second thought, the Asari nodded at the Turian's word of caution before entering the fray, her biotic barrier emanating off of her, perhaps to show off how powerful her barriers were to the others. Once the gang members started to take notice, it was a game of how many bullets her barrier could absorb, how much damage she could do in that amount of time, and how long it would take to recharge her barriers for the scientist. Still, with her shields being as durable as they were, she could take out at least three mercs in the time it would take for them to breach her shields. Her attacks were a mix of biotics and marksmanship, headshots rather frequent whilst the doctor used the accurate gun. Despite her time off the field, due to her decades of training, Elara's disturbing lethality on the battlefield was in full swing. The Asari's childish, eccentric persona was completely abolished, replaced with the cold-hearted focus of a killer. An intelligent killer, at that.
Once the fighting ceased, it was hopefully clear to the Spectre that the ex-commando was not a burden on the battlefield. In fact, Elara had taken no damage at all during the battle, possibly due to the fact that the enemies were split on who to attack, the Spectre's group or the opposing gang. The beep from Deidrus' omni-tool, receiving a message, drew her attention. Though, it was probably due to the fact that the scientist had tapped into the Spectre's communications. "For safety." she mouthed to the Spectre, a grin on her face, even with the carnage around them.

Descending down the final flight of stairs, the mech accessed the operating controls on the turrets, switching on the targeting systems. Taking into account the personnel that vacated the shuttle, the shuttle itself and itself, it marked everyone else as hostile, then set the turrets to self destruct five minutes later. The elapsed time it believe would be sufficient for the NAPD to begin to make a presence after the reports at the previous location of hostilities.
Bringing the sniper rifle up as it ventured around the tail end of the shuttle, it shot past the recruiters into the crowd, picking off those that were theoretically posing the most danger to the lives of the Spectre and his companion. "Spectre Commander," it speaks as it continues to shoot past them into the crowd.

Just over an hour later, the crates arrived in Jess and Anika's 'new' accomodation and Jess supervised the unloading. Telling the Turians where to unload what where and generally making the job twice as hard as it had to be in Anika's opinion.
Jess directed one of the Turians to offload in one corner of the room before calling him to halt while scratching her chin. "Hmmmm, maybe not. Maybe more in the centre......".
"Lady". Said the Turian pushing the loader. "It's just a crate".
"A crate I'll have to unpack later luv. Might want it where it's going to go or else we're looking at double......".
"Spirit's take it"! The Turian declared, dropping the loader. "Move it where you want! I've got real work in the hanger"!
Jess watched him stalk out and called after him. "If it's the MIP's it's two coat's of polish and a shammy wipe"!
The Turians reply was cut off by the closing doors and Jess chuckled as she turned. "Never met a more up tight crew of stick in the muds". She commented.
Anika looked around. She had brought the rest of their cases up while they waited. They now sat in what would become their bedroom while the crates around them lay unopened. she gestured at them. "So..... which one do you want to do first" She asked, recalling Jess's earlier comment. "The bed"?
"No luv. Think it's time I actually did something more than bug people. If the captains on a mission then I'd probably go find out what's going on. Probably something to do with those personel files the XO had stashed on his desk".
"I'll come with you".
"Thanks luv. But more and more, I'm comfortable with what's going down. Seems like they are actually recruiting folk. Alot of people with very specific skill sets that don't exactly suggest we're going to be selling citadel raffle tickets, if you catch my drift".
Anika looked at her blankly and Jess sighed. "Their expecting trouble so their putting together a team of hard as nail bastards to meet whatever's out there". Jess stated simply. "And I figure it's time I started getting to know them".
"Their away from the ship though".
"Most likely their on the radio's too. I'll listen in. See what they're saying. Maybe I'll run into Tullian again. Which reminds me".
Jess walked over and placed her right hand over the locking mechanism. Her Omni tool and a moment later she turned to Anika and sent a key code to her own tool. "I just set the doors security. Nothing get's in unless they have the right access".
"Aren't you being a bit over the top"?
Jess smiled. "Luv..... The XO think's this place is full of sensitive equipment. How's he going to react when he finds out I turned his office into a kitchen/diner/lounge area"? She gestured to the walls. "While I'm gone, you can unpack and get the drapes up".
"Captain.....".
"It's highly, highly unlikely I'll need my bodyguard on this ship luv. But if I do...... I'll give you a call".
Anika paused then nodded. "I'll get the coffee machine going. Sounds like we're in for a long day".
Jess winked. Then walked out. Making her way to the lift she ascended the decks till she came to the CIC deck. Like most Turian ships, this one ran linear. The star map and information centre's outside where she stepped off the lift. A Turian guard posted outside the lift spotted her stride off and held up a hand.
"Jess Stone luv. I'm here to see Tullian".
The guard's mandibles clicked. "The XO is busy right now. You'll have to leave".
"Nonsense". Jess swung around to face him and grinned. "He'll want to see his mission specialist when there's a mission going on now, won't he. Just point me......". Jess faded out as she looked over the guards shoulder and spotted Tullian standing behind another who sat in front of waht looked like radio equipment against one of the walls. "......Never mind. I see him. You keep doing what your doing luv". She said sidestepping and walking around, prompting the guard to step in to block her as she raised her voice. "Tully! Got news! I think you'll want your captain to hear this"!
Tullian looked over seemed to frown before waving the guard off and gesturing for Jess to come over. "What is it"?
"Omega luv".
Tullian waited. Then said slowly. "That's it? Omega"?
"Yep. It's a hub of information. Just the kind we need for finding things out before it hits official channals".
"Omega the space station? That place is a hive of scum and lawbreakers"!
Jess shrugged. "It's the best place to go if your serious about finding the culprits taking the colonies. A few drinks at the right table and people talk. Maybe, I figure, they'll talk about what they hear is happening that makes colonies dissapear before an alarm is raised".
Tullian shook his head. "I can't deal with this right now. The excursion team's have been taking fire. We're trying to get a picture of whats.......". Suddenly, he stopped talking as his radio earpiece chirped and he held a finger against it. "Dammit. I have to go deal with this. You! Stay put"!
Jess watched him go as he walked off further into the CIC before leaning down over the person she assumed was the comms specialist. "And what's your name luv"?
"Aelias". Said the operator, cocking her head over at Jess. "Look, do you mind? I'm trying to work"?
"Sorry luv. Aelias eh? Pretty name".
"Thanks".
Jess bent her head down. "What time do you get off"?
Aelias tilted her head around. "Not for sometime. I've got to stay till the excursion team comes back. Why"?
The corner of Jess's lip pulled up in lopsided smile. "Figure I could get to know people who I'll be working with luv. That is, if your free for drinks later".
Aelias mouth opened slightly as she regarded the dark skinned woman in front of her before turning back to her work. "I don't know if I want to be seen with you".
"Fair enough".
"The crew talks. They say your crazy".
"Could be luv. But who'll know till someone stops for a conversation".
"I'm working".
"So am I. you have an extra earpiece"?
"Yeeeees. Why"?
"I need to hear what's going on with the team".
Aelias tilted her head in thought, then reached under her terminal and brought out something that would fit a Turian's head. "Your one of the specialist's so I guess it doesn't hurt. You can broadcast to if you like".
"Sounds like fun luv". Jess held the earpiece to her ear, making a mental note to get human designed ones delivered before they left port. That, or speak to the quartermaster of the ship. "How do I send"?
Aelias showed her and Jess toggled the headset to transmit to the excursion team. "This is Jess Stone to all you darling's out there. As fortune would take it, it looks like we'll be shipping together for awhile and it turns out I missed the first job out the gate! Requesting an update seems the proper thing, so..... luvs. How's your day going? Find any odd job men to recruit for some wetworks"?
Aelias stared at her as Jess toggled the headset off. "Ms Stone..... that is not how we talk to each other over the radio"!
"Oh? How do you talk over the radio"?
In response Aelias took out a data slate, loaded a file and slapped it into Jess's hands. Jess looked at the instruction manual and looked at the bottom. The file went on for over three hundred and thirty-two pages. She looked up. "All this? Just to send a message"?
Aelias mandibles clicked as she chuckled. "Welcome to the Turian military honey".

"I'm a death dealer," Kanae started mirthlessly, still on guard. "I'm no drell when it comes to spirituality, and I'm no quarian when it comes to tech. But presence is presences regardless of the form, so I'm not really edgy when it comes to most things, includin' mech and their intelligence. Surprise is just another way to die. And if you haven't noticed, there's a billion and one ways to die out here. Rather just spend my time living than worryin' about what's going to try and off me next."

Naleena smiled, pulled a cigarette out of her pack and offered one to Drop. "Very true, I haven't spent the last 200 years in this profession being unaware of my surroundings. So what will it be? From what I can tell, it looks like that out of shape former commando took care of things. So do you want to head back to the Audron or pay the Spectre a visit now? He's going to be pissed either way. We should get those wounds checked."

Kanae turned down the cigarette, weighing his hand on his fist. "If the option is there, I'd rather avoid being seen. Even if my face isn't showing, I'm sure someone might try somethin' based solely on the thought that someone like me 'could' be Drop." He cracks his neck to the side then returns to his previous pose, "I hate to admit it that around Nos Astros, my name is getting too familiar. Still, at least I'm not as hot as that Thane Krois." He shifts uncomfortably, "And I think I should probably find me a med-lab before the medi-gel wears off and I start bleedin' all over your Vera here. If the Spectre wants to fuss, he'll have less distance to go for it if I'm already on his rig."

"Kavadar Vayne." Vayne said as he looked at the quarian curiously, folding up his shotgun as he slung it behind his back once more as he followed along. He'd need to be sticking with the quarian for now, maybe even more so depending on what the data said. Regardless, he'd need to come up with a plan to get him off the station safely now that the heat was on. He had no intention of leaving the fellow to die here hunted down like a varren. 'Maybe I can contact someone in eclipse and hire a rescue. Get him to pay for it to, given the money he's been skimming.' he thought to himself.
"You got a place other then your apartment?" The krogan asked as he continued to follow alongside arrin, eye glancing around at the locals, making sure none of them might be wearing any blues or reds, or worse, reaching into their clothes to try and pull anything out. The last thing he needed was his only real lead to what was going on ending up shot in the street by some low time freelance punk. "Any place we can lay low in case **** hits the fan?"

Jess waited for a response from her transmission from the excursion team as she thumbed through the slate Aelias had given her. After a short while her eye's glazed over and she looked up from her reading.
"A minute of this? I want to kill myself. You must have spent hours going over this text".
"Add hours and hours of other texts". Aelias confirmed. Jes shook her head.
"How are you alive"?
Aelias looked up with a playful lilt to her voice. "I may very well not be". She left that sentance hanging in the air before she broke into laughter. "Just kidding hon. It's not so bad when you first enlist. And between you and me". She dropped her voice so it wouldn't carry. "It was the hands on instructors who make the instruction manuals make sense". She turned back to her station. "Anyway. No response coming in from your..... situation update request".
Jess shrugged. "Well, either their to busy to respond. Can't be bothered to respond. Or both. Mind if I hang around with you a bit"?
"Feel free".

It would seem that the Council has chosen the right people for this job. The Turian mused to himself once it was clear that the Asari had dealt with everyone involved in the conflict. The two Asari had his approval in his mind, based on the quick movements of Naleena to the job and the swift and decisive action of Elara. He would be reticent to not commend them fully... However, that was for another time. For now, the mission was over.
"Naleena, I assume there was success on your end?" He sent the short voice message to the Commando before turning to the other message in his omni-tool. One from Eteon that Silver was on the ship and, he had hoped, not attempted to strangle her yet. He sent a short message to the linked Omni-tool that he would return to the Audron shortly to meet them. He dropped his arm and inclined his head to the Asari in front of him.
"Efficient use of the battlefield to your advantage, measured offense and defense with risks involved leading to a constant stream of pressure on enemy units. For a single individual I would call some of it beyond the realm of ideal tactics however your success is commendable. Naleena will be done with her own objective by now I imagine..."
Lastly, he turned to look at the approaching mech who he assumed was the one that had addressed him. His eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of the raised weapon, especially a high-powered one but consciously made an effort to relax. It wouldn't do to simply pull a trigger for no reason on hardware someone might not like being wrecked. "That would be me, yes." He spoke somewhat briskly.

COLE lifted the weapon over it's shoulder and let the magnetic clamps on its back take hold of it, "Spectre Commander. Turian. Orders transmitted from Alliance military to rendezvous with Spectre's assembly. Purpose: unknown. Spectre Turian Council status used to instill designated Alias "Drop" into mission cohesion. Unit designation COLE present to regroup with Alias: Drop via Spectre Commander. Turian. aid to Alias: Drop present location."

Deidrus blinked a couple of times and ran what the mech had said through his mind a couple of times to get through the halting speech. Everything until the last bit made sense so he understood that this is an Alliance machine and somehow attached to Addle. "COLE is your name then." The Turian said, stating the obvious somewhat slowly. "'Drop' is coming to you, or are you coming with us to rendezvous with him?" That was the crux he assumed so getting that straight might be a bit useful.

Aboard the shuttle Naleena received the transmission from Deidrus.

So they're heading on to the Audron... Fair. "For the sake of smoothing out your speech I would recommend not repeating the name of my species after using the term 'Spectre'. My name is Androkan, that using that would probably also cut out a few syllables." He was hoping that Cole was a VI system and could handle indirect imperative statements. If not, he had no clue how to explain- On second thought, not his robot, not his business. He shook his head to himself and motioned to the shuttle. "Get in, it's not far to get back to the ship." He then turned to Elara. "We're finished here, 'Drop' is making his own way with Naleena."

Eteon had not realized that with going and retrieving Silver she would become the official plenopotentiary for all the Aliens on the ship. The reason why she hadn't met with Jess was because she had been just notified of that, as in dragged aside by the requisitions master who had a bad feeling and apparently his gut was always right. About nothing in particular he would add but what's suspicious is suspicious and he let her know as an officer of pseudo higher-ranking that she would be responsible for 'alien stuff'. That came to be clear when all the stuff from the three new members decided to show up.
Now, as long as they didn't spend Hierarchy money there weren't a lot of restrictions on how to live on a Turian ship. They might be spartan and enjoy the somewhat brutalism of the ship but they understood that the other species liked their own cultural things. Humans like books on romance, Asari like soft lighting and soft things, Salarians like things to poke and Krogan like places to mount heads. All but the third one tended to go rather well (generally) so it was allowed. That said, extravagance was still somewhat beyond the liking of the Turians of the Audron (or at least those that cared enough to talk about it) and decided that talking to someone of meaning would be necessary. Someone related to these new people in a way.
Someone unfortunately just relegated that position.
So Eteon had, for a while, been stuck listening to people complain about the things being taken on board. She personally didn't see the issue, sheets were hardly anything to care about in her mind though washing them when not on a hub planet would be an issue seeing as Turian technology had effectively decided that anything that could truly hurt your from uncleanliness could be killed in the vacuum of space or from exposure to solar radiation. Which isn't nice on fabric and the mild amount of residual radiation meant that people who weren't Turian might find the slight warmth of the sheets when nobody is in them unsettling.
All that aside, Eteon understood people's complaints insofar as it would be hard to clean sheets, beyond that there was little care or little meaning to actually try and force a change. So she decided to do something aside from listen to people drone. So she decided to look about the ship for Jess since she seemed to be a kind of over-the-top which did not involve old Turian dogma and whatnot.

COLE logged the name away, making the usual motions a mech made in registering new information. Walking further out into the open, the VI sent reset the self destruct codes on the turrets, arming the function to activate once the turrets lost sight of the shuttle. The channel used for the asari distress was closed, giving off the impression that whomever was there was long dead now.
"Get in, it's not far to get back to the ship," the turnian said before turning for his comrade.
"Acknowledge, Spectre Commander. Androkan." The VI walked into the shuttle and sat in a place where the other two could keep their eyes on him. He had drawn the conclusion that organics liked to keep their sight on potential threats. The turian's body language indicated an aversion with COLE's presence at first meeting. Sitting down, the VI turned off the optical displays of the mech and proceeded to engage in cyber warfare protocols, erasing all traces of its and Drop's presence in the area as well as potential 'footprints' for the NAPD to pick up on.

".......So they walk into this high story vehicle parking lot and immediately find the car..... they were wheeled in those day, with the bomb inside and they decide to disarm the bomb themselves". Jess was talking as she leant against the bulkhead of theCIC while Aelias monitored her equipment.
"They take off the casing and find all these wires. Meanwhile the bomb's counting down and naturally the family man is nervous, but the loud one happens to be carrying a pair of wire cutters. Because obviously, who doesn't walk around with wire cutter's in his back pocket. Anyway, they look at the wires and talk about which one to cut when they hear a bang. Both jump...... but's it's just a cat. So they look back at the wires and argue some more about which one to cut. They decide. But just before he does, the loud one cuts a different wire.....".
"Um huuumph". Aelias mummered non-comitally as she received reports from the team on the ground.
"But it was the wrong wire after all. So the loud one says 'grab the cat'".
"Hmmmmm".
"Next minute their running out of the building and the whole place blows up! The two get demoted and end up walking a street beat".
Aelias finally finished archiving the reports coming in and turned her head in Jess's direction. "I'm sorry, what were we talking about again"?

Wait, every damn person in the Galaxy has an omni-tool why am I wandering... Eteon thought to herself before bringing up her omni-tool and checking through the locations of the people on the ship. She glanced through the names of the dozens of people on-board before giving up and searching for Silver in the system. Problem was, for Eteon she was searching for someone with the same name as the Turian word for Silver, and for the life of her she could not figure out why the woman wasn't in the system.
A good minute was wasted as she puzzled it out before making a set of quick clicks in embarrassment when she realized her translation was set to 'literal' and that was her problem. She pretended that never happened and made her way over to the CIC to find the pirate. When she saw the human near Aelias the turian raised a brow plate and sauntered over. "Getting to know the crew?" She asked, wondering what else the woman might have gotten up to. "Apologies for not being around when you arrived, I was given a 'special job' from Req." She raised two fingers and made a ticking motion in opposite directions in a mockery of Turian punctuation.

Jess grinned at Eteon "Not a problem luv. We're settling in okay. Though you might want to avoid your XO for awhile..... he seems a bit miffed". Jess got up from leaning on the bulkhead and patted Aelias on the shoulder. "I was hoping to hear from the people on the planet. And well, Aelias and I got got talking".
Aelias looked around witha bemused expression, but kept silent as Jess went on.
"Looks like people are coming back to the ship and I was hoping, if it's doable, to take the ship to Omega. If you people need information on these colonies, then that's the place to find it raw. Before it get's chopped up and prepared for extranet broadcasting where all the juicy details are taken out".

"Allright Vayne, nice name, sounds... Kroganic!" Arrin was now comfortable at last with the situation, feeling that having this strong fighter with him will make him as safe as I had never been before... "Sadly the only place I have is my appartment, I don'y know of any other safe place whatsoever, but... you see, I hadn't been in this situation before"... Arrin started typing something in is Omnitool while walking "Well, Vayne... you should probably know that I'm a bit paranoid, sometimes I feel a bit stupid about it, but right now, the surveillance camera and boby traps in my appartment sounds usefull" He checked the hollographic projection comming from his wrist and saw his appartment empty, checked the feedback from his bobytraps sensors and saw that there was no life form in his appartment, so for now it was all safe...
"So is in here" he said pointing to a half destroyed building, with a big straig ladder that leaded to the upper floors, each of them with a round corridor with lots of small apartment doors... There was a Batarian sleeping on the stairway, it was to drunk to feel them going up "Well, as you can see this is a really classy building..." after reaching the last floor Arrin opened the door to his apparment "Here we are! welcome to my palace!" they both came in and Vayne had some troubles to pass trought the small door, for the Krogan the appartment looked like a telephone booth and couldn't understand how could someone live in suchs conditions. Arrin turned on the lights, open the small box where he keep is Paladin gun and striped to his magnetic belt 'I will never let you away from my sight again' ant then seated into his working station right away to start cracking the file... 'So, it doesn't seem that heavily encrypted... it wouldn't take long'... "All right my bulky friend... we would know whats in the file in no time!"

Vayne looked around the small apartment as he tried to keep himself close to the door, the whole feeling feeling tighter then a flying coffin kodiak, even with it highly slightly more space then that. "You got a real keeper in this place. Reminds me of my first home, only without the scaulding heat..." he commented as he walked overly carefully to one of the traps laid out, examining it closely, "Traps are a nice touch thoughh. You rig them yourself?" he questioned as he got on his omnitool, not touching any of the rigged things here. He didn't want to lose his only eye to some quarian rigged booby trap after all.
He got onto his omnitool and accessed the extranet system from omega's bouy, logging on as he began to get to work on trying to patch in some comm traffic going on in the station. If two big merc groups were looking for someone, there was bound to be chatter about it, and there would be at someone within the long chain of the organizations dumb enough to use an unsecure to talk. All vayne had to do was be paitent as his wiretapping programs got to work trying to find the weak link in the correspondance chain.

"Of course! Goddess, this was a fun little excursion." Turning to the mech as the doors to the shuttle slid closed, the scientist spent the next few moments analyzing the VI. Her hand on her chin, blue eyes studied the robotic companion, from the top to the bottom. "Normally, I would ask to disassemble and study you. However, mechanics are not my line of work." Elara stated cheerfully, albeit a little disappointed. "I guess I'll have to stick to slicing open organics. Speaking of organics, would you mind telling us a bit about your master? If not just to pass the time, I'd like to learn a little more about him, just in case he needs medical attention, for instance."
